SUPER convenient location! You literally walk outside the hotel, take a right and Shibuya Station is right in front of you. Super close to a 7-Eleven and FamilyMart too! Daily cleaning for the room and I thought the shower looking directly into the room was super cool. The single rooms were suuuper small. I brought a checked bag and a carry on and i really didn’t have room to keep both in there. I had to keep the small one standing next to the mirror super awkwardly because otherwise there wouldn’t have been enough room to open the door, but honestly I found that really charming because you don’t see things like that where I’m from!! It’s definitely a talking point when I tell my friends about my vacation :)) Super nice staff as well.

I booked a standard room, but there was no clear mention before booking that it might be a smoking room. After booking, it was marked as “requested smoking room,” even though I never requested this.

The hotel is very old and has an unpleasant smell throughout, making the atmosphere feel stuffy and uncomfortable. It did not match the positive reviews I had seen online.

The bed was uncomfortable, and the bathroom was not in good condition—the bathtub was broken and the toilet did not work properly. Overall, the room felt poorly maintained.

The location looks close to Shibuya on the map, but due to surrounding construction and blocked roads, it takes much longer to reach than expected.

Overall, the experience did not match expectations in terms of cleanliness, comfort, or accuracy of description

We did lose air conditioning for a day, but I think they were doing maintenance. Other than that, the reception staff and cleaning staff were amazing! This hotel is in a great location and less than a 5 minute walk to the train. I’m planning to stay here again next year! Thank you so much Shibuya Granbell staff :)

Overall cleanliness was very good. A single person room was very small for me, I’d recommend a double even if it’s just for 1 person. They were fixing the air conditioner so we were without AC for a few days. Overall a very decent stay!

I had some difficulty to find hotel initially due to overhead walkways required to get to general area from train station. Once I had it figured, it was easy to get around. Property & room could use some refreshing. Overall met my needs for 1 night stay and experience for that area.

Room was clean and tidy, staff were really nice and friendly. Room is small, but as to he expected in Japan, though it is a little bigger than APA hotel for comparison. TV screen was a little dated and small, and there are no international news channels - there are movies but I think you need to pay to watch the movies. Room amenities are replaced daily, including bottles of water.

Location is very handy. If you are taking the airport shuttle bus, it's only 1300 yen per person one way. From Haneda airport you can get off at Cerulean Tower which is only 5 mins walk to Granbell Hotel. For the return journey, you can purchase the ticket on the bus at Cerulean Tower. I did see signs for Narita Airport at Cerulean Tower, so assuming you can get the shuttle bus to and from Narita Airport too.

The hotel is very close to Shibuya Station and Shibya Scramble, only a few mins walk, handy if you want to pop back to the hotel for a rest if you're out and about the area. 7-11, Lawson's and Family Mart are all close by for drinks and snacks.

Google Maps isn't very clear, especially with how many floors you need to go up or down! If you're taking the JR Yamanote line, the station is just 2 mins from Granbell Hotel, in Shibuya Sakura Stage, 3rd floor. Although in the heart of Shibuya, hotel is located in a quieter area which is nice.

Only thing is the room can do with a new coating of paint, a lot of marks on the walls from suitcase wheels.

Definitely a great hotel to stay in.

The location is brilliant, a 5-7min walk to the station (which is like a maze) and it’s a bit of quiet away from the absolute craziness of Shibuya.
The room was comfortable, we slept well and amazingly you couldn’t hear any noise. Housekeeping was great as were amenities in the suite. The maintenance was a bit off - a few broken light bulbs and broken cupboard door.
Reception was hit and miss, one particularly grumpy chap bur mostly everyone else was really nice
Free water in room and in reception was great
Missed digital tv / English speaking channels
The kettle took 20mins to boil

The Granbell seems like its past its prime days — once a nice hotel has fallen into a need of renovation. Besides the tiny room and the fact that the lighting (especially in the bathroom) was terrible, the service was very good, the bed was very comfortable, the amenities were sufficient, the location is excellent and the price affordable. In this case, you get what you pay for.

Our room was very small (basically, where I lay my head to sleep was about 5 feet from the door) and there was only a curtain separating the sleeping space to the bath vanity and shower area. Otherwise, the location is fantastic and so close to the train station, restaurants and shopping.

If you are a Shibuya person, this is the best location. It is located just a few steps from the Shibuya stop of the Narita Express at the New South Exit. The exit is so new, there are not even signs that tell you where it is if you are trying to enter it. It is steps away from supermarkets, pharmacy, restaurant, and shopping. Best of all the price is affordable. The hotel rooms could be bigger and luxurious but for the price and location, it is unbeatable.

A very average hotel in a great location. If you all want is a clean hotel close to Shibuya (in a quieter part) this is totally fine. I only spent one night here but it was fine. The room was a bit tired but no issues. WiFi worked. Shower was good. Bed was fine. Room was tiny but serviceable.

Fantastic location. Adequate hotel. Single room was very small. No real amenities in the hotel--just a place to sleep. But there is so much going on in the neighborhood that you won't want to hang at the hotel. The shower was truly remarkable--exfoliating in the extreme. I'd stay there again.

The property does need some updating and it’s hard to find on maps but if you put in Sakura Stage this will be your best option. I loved every single staff they were so helpful and they all had smiles each time. Good staff really have an impact on stays and this made me want to come back if I was to stay in Shibuya again. The location is perfect as well it’s walking distance from a lot of touristy areas like the Starbucks reserve, Shibuya crossing, metro, like literally everything.

I have to say, the staff! I almost lost my luggage with Yamato Transport, they made a lot of calls and reassured that everything was going to be okay. I hug the assistant because she help me saved thounsands of dollars worth of merchandise.

The hotel’s only advantage is its location. The advertised rating is inaccurate, as the service did not meet expectations. Staff were unhelpful and had difficulty understanding basic English. We had a better experience at the Shinjuku branch.

To start off, staff was very kind and attentive. Location was also close to Shibuya crossing. However, the room we received did not look like the listing online at all. The lobby looked nice, but once you start walking towards your room, the hallways had large scuff marks and chunks of corners were missing. There was literally a giant gash mark on the emergency exit. On their website, they market their rooms to look fancy or at least nice but the room I was given looked ghetto. Their listing for their single rooms did not look like the room we had at all, we were the only room on the floor that had the smallest layout, a missing desk, and was in poor condition: 1 broken shower handle, toilet/ bidets were inconsistent, sink was also inconsistent, buttons missing from the lighting control, paint peeling off from restroom window. I tried to politely request for a room change due to these conditions but the worker was reluctant with changing our room after my complaints. I also found it weird that we would have to call front desk to open and close our rooms.. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Pretty upset that I spent $700 to receive a ghetto/ rundown room, I feel robbed.

Location is excellent as it is very convenient as it is right next to Shibuya station. Our room was a little more spacious than other central hotels in Tokyo. Water pressure was hot and strong. Only issues were bathroom towels were a bit thin, no tea offered in rooms, only instant coffee although free coffee machine down at reception which is good but then you had to bring it to your room. Also outdated was the tiny plastic shampoo bottles which only last 1-2 goes. Waste of time for cleaners refilling and for guests. Time to upgrade to full pump bottles
