I enjoyed the breakfast however was not much of a variety. The hot tub and onsen was great! Also appreciated how easily accessible the laundry room is. Clean rooms, everyday the bed would be made with clean pajamas and towels supplied.

This is a hidden little treasure! It is hidden behind other buildings and you wouldn’t think much of it looking at the front but once you step in it is a whole other story! This hotel is very well located, within walking distance to all the best shopping ever, the Meiji- Jingu shrine, plus it’s very close to the subway station. Plenty of restaurants around too. The rooms are small but so comfortable and well equipped! Our room became our cozy little nest away from home after long days of walking and exploring. A great breakfast buffet is available on site and they offer a late miso soup for free! And let’s not forget the Spa with a hot tub to renew yourself. This is all around a great place to stay while in Tokyo.

This property was very conveniently located in Harajuku and easy to get to from the nearest train station. There are many restaurants and shopping options within minutes of the hotel. Though our room was small, the biggest challenge was the bed situation. It was fairly hard, but the pillows were very small and very hard. These need to be improved upon. Otherwise we would've slept better and wouldn't have felt overly tired due to lack of sleep and comfort.

The location is centrally located between Shibuya and Harajuku. Both are walkable!

Overall, a great hotel to stay if you are visiting Tokyo. We would stay here the next time we come back!

The onsen is the star of the show, clean and relaxing with a beautiful sauna and even cold plunge.

Be warned: no tattoos in the onsen. However they will provide you cover-stickers

The video on demand isn’t free like every other hotel in Japan gotta pay to play here. The late night snack thing closes at 11 and the ice cream machine was non existent when I was there in March. But the staff is nice and the location is great. I’d go back there. Mostly for that pillow. It might leave with me next time.

Perfect location, even if close to train track it was quiet. Everything so walkable like we were central of all the must see and shop areas but hotel felt tucked in an alley so it’s more chill and not overwhelmingly crowded.
Really loved the onsen- the bath and hair products, the cool calming projection at night in the bath. We especially looked forward to the late night ramen and the free frozen treats at night and yakult in the morning after bath- it brought the excited kid in us to have these perks after the tiring long treks and train hopping, shopping, sight seeing all day. The onsen bath also made it convenient to shower at the same time saving time, though the blow dryer in the hotel room was much better so I used that instead. We also were able to request softer pillows.
I would stay here again for sure when I go back to Tokyo.

Staff is great. Location is in the middle of both Shibuya and Harajuku stations with lots of things to do and see in the area. Easy to stroll the alley ways of Omotesando and Shibuya. The hotel is an OG Dormy Inn with smaller rooms and a small bath area. It’s located next to the tracks so you can hear trains when they pass.

Excellent location! Hotel was clean, modern, check in was easy. Beds were quite firm, and pillows were very flat and only 1 per bed, so consider going to buy pillows after you arrive! We kept forgetting when we were out but there is a big houseware store nearby. Bathtub was nice and deep, good after long day of walking. Noteable because the Onsen is unfortunately not tattoo friendly. That said, if you are not heavily tattooed they do provide coverage bandages at the front desk! Didnt get a chance to try their complementary nightly ramen because there were so many restaurants nearby. Great place to stay all in all, I'd definitely stay again.

We had a great stay. Convenient location, with Shibuya station an easy 5 minute walk away. Staff was polite. Buffet breakfast was of good quality with a decent range of food and beverages. The onsen was excellent with all the amenities available, clean and thoughtful. Our room was clean, a decent size for Tokyo and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was compact but acceptable. Perhaps the only criticism was the somewhat tired decor but fair enough for this price point in pricey Shibuya!

Since the hotel only offers self check-in and check-out, there wasn’t much interaction with staff, so we can’t really comment on the service. However, we can share our thoughts on the room and facilities. The room was as small as expected. The décor and lighting made the space feel dark and uninviting. The bed quality was poor and uncomfortable, and the pillows had very little filling. With only one pillow per person, they were almost flat and barely higher than the mattress.

Absolutely loved our stay. Good location. A bit off the beaten path on a quiet back street, which was a nice change from the busyness of Shibuya’s main streets, but still felt very safe. In hotel onsen was excellent. Clean, excellent toiletries provided and so relaxing, Free foods/drinks were a treat: coffee/tea all day, yogurt drink in am, ice cream/popsicles in afternoon/evening and ramen 9:30-11 pm; a real bonus, We loved the room setup. Yes,on the smal sidel, but had a practical, functional layout. We felt we could stay in it long-term, Staff friendly, even if many spoke minimal English, but the hotel is in Japan afterall. Room very quiet when windows closed, even though by a train track. Approx 7-10 minute walk to Shibuya and Meiji-Harajuku train stations, so is very convenient for getting around the city, I regretted not booking Dormy Inns for the rest of our trip in Japan! Will miss the Hershey ice cream bars! I can’t wait to come back to stay again!

Check in was on a kiosk that a front desk member helped me with and checkout was less than 2 minutes. They even called a taxi for us to go to the Tokyo train station.

Room:
The room was clean, new towels were given every day, and while it's small it was basically the perfect size to get ready, freshen up, or take a quick nap before going out somewhere.

Staff:
Excellent. No complaints. Helped us with any questions we had.

Amenities:
The hot spring/sauna area was very nice and relaxing and had everything you needed to chill out.
The breakfast was awesome. Maybe it was because this was our first time in Japan, but I was very surprised how everything seemed slightly elevated from what I'm used to in the US. I would highly recommend paying for it. It got us up early to start our day and was always great quality.

Location:
This was in a great location. Right in between two train stations, and it was walking distance to so many different shops, bars, and places to eat. We got to do a lot of different things because we could easily walk or take a train.

Overall/Value for money:
If you are like us and this is your first time I would definitely recommend the Dormy. It was a reasonable price when we stayed (early to mid November) and was the perfect place to get ready or nap then walk to our next new thing. If you want a place where exploring is easy and the price won't break the bank I would recommend staying here a while.

Rooms were small, as expected, but the public bath made up for that! Really nice to have the option to shower and get ready there instead.

Staff was friendly, rooms were clean, and they have a variety of pillows to borrow at the front desk if you don’t like the ones in your room when you get there. Extra perks were great - late night ramen, free coffee, free yakult in the morning and free popsicles in the evening.

Location is great! It’s about halfway between 2 metro stations, which added flexibility. Great shopping and restaurants within walking distance.

We would definitely stay here again next time we’re in Tokyo!

Was a good affordable option for staying in Shibuya and was a stones throw from Harajuku too.. Slightly. Back off the main road, which didn't seem too safe to start with but actually it was fine. You can hear the trains but not loud enough to bother you. Just like a small gentle quiet drum. In the background every once in a while. Was no issue. I have stayed in many Dormy Inn Hotels this was nearly the worst. Room was very small and nowhere to put luggage. Was too far from the station. Shibuya station is very difficult because of construction. Immediate area not nice and very few places to eat close to the hotel. The onsen was not up to usual Dormy Inn standards and breakfast although reasonable was not what we are used too at Dormy inn.
Staff were very helpful.
Overall after spending 4 night at this Hotel I would not recommend it

Starting with the positives: this is a centrally located hotel that is walkable to many tourist destinations such as Harajuku, Cat street, Yoyogi park, Meiji shrine, etc. It also offers great complimentary perks such as popsicles, yogurt drinks, and late night ramen service.

Beyond that, I don’t know if this is a hotel issue or an Expedia issue, but who in their right mind would consider the room we had suitable for 3 people. Yes i understand hotel rooms are generally smaller in Japan, and that was expected - but to purposely sell a slightly bigger double bed for 2 adults and a 6yr old child is delusional. I mean, it was booked under the criteria as inputted.

We had a non-cleaning room which was fine, and the cleaning staff was actually phenomenal and quick with providing fresh towels and removing rubbish promptly, and always so pleasant. Which leads me to feel bad for rating the staff low - all because of the one younger gentleman who works the front desk who was probably the rudest person I’ve encountered on this trip. I felt compelled to ask if he was mad at me because his attitude was that absurd! He was beyond curt during check out, and was unbelievably bothered to hold our luggage for 2 hours. Upon our return to pick up our bags, he literally ripped the ticket from my hand and dumped our bags on the ground (one of which contained a laptop). What was already a cramped and average stay was truly spoiled by that bozo.

I do think it’s important to note that the train nearby is pretty consistent and although not loud, there is regular noise so if you need total silence keep this in mind. The staff was very nice and it’s a great price so I am happy to have booked this hotel. Also I didn’t try it, but my partner loved the onsen.

Cons - Room was ridiculously small such that we couldn’t unpack or access our cases without lifting them into the bed. No storage areas other than a small hanging rail. The bed had just enough room to access it on the window side by squeezing along the narrow gap. The bathroom was just big enough to contain the toilet and shower cubicle. The “view” was of the train rattling past directly outside our window. The noise was fairly minimal and we used earplugs for sleeping.
Pros - We didn’t need to use the room shower as we visited the lovely onsen in the evenings. This was the highlight of the hotel and a nice touch that they offered many complimentary toiletries and Yakult drinks, ice pops and ramen (untried).
Luckily we only stayed 2 nights. I would suggest this hotel should only be considered for a short stay for a single or couple without a child. The rate was one of the highest I’ve paid for a 3 star hotel room of this standard.

We came to the Dormy on a recommendation from a friend. We found the hotel pleasant and also busy with folks and families taking advantage of the numerous amenities, including access to laundry, public baths, drinks and nightly noodles and ice cream, each very appreciated. Overall, we were pleased with the location having not understood fully the logistics of the city as it is generally located a fair walking distance from the station and two or three different shopping and social areas. They both received our luggage shipped ahead from our previous hotel and kindly held it for us after check out so we could see more of the town before taking the train. The only downside was my error in not realizing the amenities might impact room size. I booked the only room style available for our dates, a double which proved to be too small for our circumstances (but might work for a married couple or a single). The hotel did look to see if we could make an adjustment however they were fully booked so we made due. A highlight of the stay was the complementary noodles served by the very cheerful chef. I also took advantage of the laundry and the public bath both which were busy but accessible. We will definitely look at the Dormy franchise again when in Japan next and perhaps try a larger room. Thank you!

I stayed at Dormy Inn Jingumae - Shibuya, and I absolutely agree with other reviews—having an on-site onsen after a long day of walking and shopping is clutch!

Thanks to Japan’s amazing luggage forwarding services, Dormy Inn kindly held my bags until I arrived, which made things much easier. That said, navigating from Shibuya Station to the hotel can be a little tricky so I opted for a GoTaxi (Japan’s version of Uber) to make the trip smoother—and once I arrived, everything was a breeze!

Dormy Inn Jingumae has a ryokan-style feel, which I really appreciated. The staff were incredibly patient and kind, even as I navigated with limited Japanese—thank you for the translator app convos and English signage everywhere!

My room was cozy, clean, and comfortable, but the real gem was the onsen! They had a sauna room, wash stations with shampoo, conditioner and body wash. And their hot and cold baths did wonders for my lower back pain. It was so good!

Note: This is a more traditional setup—tattoos are not allowed to be uncovered in the onsen. Even makeup concealers don’t count—you’ll need a bandage to fully cover.

The hotel is perfectly situated near Shibuya’s shopping and dining scene, and just a short walk to Harajuku’s trendy shopping streets.

If you're looking for a spa + hotel combo in the heart of Shibuya, Dormy Inn Jingumae Hot Springs - Shibuya is a fantastic option!

I really enjoyed the hotel - but for westerners, especially Americans, the rooms are small - but comfortable. Good AC (we are here in June and it is HOT), loved the shower by the way - water pressure was great, very refreshing. Good Shibuya location, not fancy, but still very nice. Breakfast was really good. Also - I don’t know if they do this always, but there is free ice cream in the lobby/dining area for certain hours of the day, and free ramen 9-11 I believe as well.

Excellent property and amenities. Hotel staff are excellent, genuine and willing to help. I would recommend 100% if you are looking for great experiences in your travel!!!

Fantastic location right in the center of everything and 5 mins walk from metro. The onsen is separate for men and women as its naked but was clean and hot.free ramen in the evening was a lovely touch as was free ice cream. Room was goid size as i booked the upgraded twin. Will defo stay again.
