I accidentally booked a hotel in the wrong city. Ok I know it was non-refundable but I was coming from another country and got the location wrong. Hotel.com were very helpful and tried to be flexible but the hotel would not….they wouldn’t refund. Such lack of flexibility is sad. I notified them well in advance so they could have rebooked the room.

An excellent stopover!

We have stayed at this hotel on at least 4 occasions. It is very convenient for our journey to Italy being very close to the A2. The rooms are comfortable and quiet and the staff are very helpful.

Clean facility. Cleaning staff frequently skipped my room leaving a card to say I was in the room when they tried to clean. This happened 3 times in my 8 night stay. I was not in the room at the time nor did I have the DND sign up. Front desk were overall helpful

Courteous, Comfortable and Convenient to Basel

My husband was jet-lagging having just returned from Australia so we appreciated the quick check-in and kind reception that explained the parking procedures. The wifi in the room was excellent as we needed to keep in contact with our office and staff. The room was spacious and well furnished. The hotel location was quiet and easy to find. It was convenient to get to our speaking engagements in Basel. We had requested 3 extra pillows to ease our back problems and they were in the room when we arrived. We will definitely stay there again!

The hotel is sold on Expedia as having an indoor pool, it doesn't. There is access to a leisure facility next door for a charge of 25 Ch F. Breakfast is not standard inclusion, you must always include breakfast in your rate as 28 Ch F is very expensive. Johann the ops manager was excellent, helpful with issues. Peter the receptionist was unhelpful and would not listen to requests

Poorly trained staff, unhelpful and discourteous

We have just stayed in this very disappointing hotel, having come to Basel for the Art Fair.

The hotel itself is mediocre, the breakfast unappetising and the staff are unhelpful and seem untrained.

We arrived back at midnight after spending the entire day at the fair, totally exhausted, only to find that our room had not been made up, with dirty towels and an unmade bed.

We were enormously frustrated but had no option but to sleep in the unmade
bed. We were offered a change of room at midnight, but the thought of spending the next 2 hours moving rooms at midnight did not seem very attractive!

We expected that the management would be falling over themselves to apologise and to offer a refund for the day. Instead we were told by a manager, who seemed to have no training in customer relations, that it was our fault. That was because we told the housekeeper that we were still sleeping when she entered the room without knocking at the crack of dawn. It appears that this hotel does not believe in checking again that the room needs to be made up. There is no do not disturb card or a card to indicate they should make up the room.

Our stay was overall dispiriting, in particular because of the attitude of the management.

We would advise anyone coming to Basel to only book this hotel if there is no other option.

This Hotel is a disgrace to the Marriott group.

Typical business hotel. Modern, clean, but without any charm. Perfect for a business stay if you don't care about location. Make sure you bring swimwear, entrance in the adjoined wellness center is included. Free WiFi is slow, and the paid option is ridiculously overpriced.

This hotel is the worst one that we stayed in Switzeland. it's a industry region. The parking fee is 54 CHE per day. it's creay. the receiption said give me a half price because I came to the hotel very late. but actually it is only 4 CHE discount. it's nothing.

The staff at the Basel Courtyard went the extra mile for me several times when they could have easily said \"sorry, that's not included\" or \"the kitchen is now closed\". WiFi in the room & Front desk phone answering skil

I cannot believe that I could not get wifi in my room and anytime I wanted to email surf or skype call I had to go down to the lobby. I live in US and was traveling for a week and picked Marriott to be a loyal guest even though it cost me Euro150 everyday to go back and forth to work. All that was fine but sitting in the lobby in the middle of the night so I can speak with wife is completely unacceptable.
What was worst was after several complains to the staff, there was no action for my entire stay. Never had such a bad experience from a Marriott before, hence my desire to complain.

The other problem was about the front desk staff who never seemed interested in answering the phone calls. My wife would try for ever and give up trying to reach me.

Clean and business-like, but HOT!

The Courtyard Basel is a modern, contemporary hotel for the business traveller. There is an Aqua centre right beside the hotel which is one-of-a-kind, although hotel guests have to pay for each entry. Hotel rooms in the Summer months are extremely hot! When we were there, it felt like a sauna, and you cannot adjust any air. However, there were plugs for every country's adaptors and everything was pristine clean!

This hotel is very comfortable, with modern facilities and a relaxing atmosphere. The service is friendly and professional. The only thing that prevents me from providing an outstanding rating is the fact that it is expensive - not so much the room charge, which is always high in this region - but the 'add ons'. 28CHF daily internet charge, 22 CHF/day parking, 28chf for breakfast...come on Marriott, when you charge $300 a night for a regular room, you should throw in the rest complimentary as you do elsewhere.

I try to stay atbthisnhtel whenever in the Basel area. It can be expensive, but the service is good and the hotel itself is kept spotlessly clean. For me, the site access to Aquabasilea, other for the spa or for the superb gym, is what keeps me coming back. If they should change anything, it should be to provide FREE WIFI service throughout the hotel, but especially in the rooms. A US owned hotel chain charging top dollar and then asking 30 CHF a day for internet is pure extortion.

No reason to return

This is an extremely overpriced hotel in a very uninteresting location. The staff are not interested in their jobs or in you as a guest. The room was very average for a luxury price. There was a mini fridge in the room that didn't work and contained one 5CHF bottle of hot water. The restaurant has bad, insanely priced food. I paid 28CHF for a hamburger that was nearly inedible. They know they can charge what they want because you are in the middle of nowhere.
I won't ever return to this hotel again.

Nice Hotel but very isolated. Hotel does not provide \"mobility pass\" that almost all hotels in the Basel Area provide. This is a must if you do not have a car. The mobility pass allows you to use public transportation free of charge and this is a must due to this hotels location.

This hotel seems newly built so the decor is new, modern and appealing.

It is about a 20 mins taxi ride from the airport. Beware that the taxis are not cheap, expect to pay 70 to 85 Swiss francs.

The room was very comfortable. I had some trouble with the iron and minibar in my bedroom which were quickly resolved.

The hotel is well situated for both business and family use and with the incredible Aquabasilea attached, it makes an excellent get away. We stayed here during a visit back to Basel from the States and the Swiss quality was immediately evident. The rooms were spacious (we took a superior as we have kids), clean, modern and comfortable. The lobby area was typically Swiss-modern and oriented to business travellers. Did not try the restaurant as it was very pricey, but breakfast was very good. Only criticism - wifi - only lets one device access at a time and is 28 CHF a day! At the prices charged by the hotel per night, Wifi should be inclusive.

Spent 3 nights at this hotel last weekend. This was our second stay at the hotel and it was fantastic. My only real complaint is the cost of the internet (28CHF/day) but this is normal for Switzerland - I just wish when one pays for a \"deluxe/upgraded\" room the internet was included.

My flight arrived at 8:30 am and I arrived at the hotel around 10am. I was able to check in immediately which was really appreciated after a 10 hour flight from Calgary.

The room was great, very comfortable and very large by European standards. We absolutely LOVED having a kitchenette - saved lots of money buying ready-made dishes at the local Co-op and heating them up in the microwave. I never did figure out how to use the Nespresso machine but we're not big coffee drinkers so I didn't bother asking. We loved having a separate seating area and work desk. It was nice to be able to sit down somewhere other than the bed!

Our room rate included a full American-style buffet breakfast which we both thoroughly enjoyed. There were many hot and cold options available and it was nice to have servers bringing coffee and tea. There is a nice patio outdoors where you can enjoy your breakfast if it is sunny (we also enjoyed having an afternoon beverage outdoors on the couches).

Parking was expensive (29CHF/day again not unusual for Switzerland) but there was free outdoor parking right next to the hotel. Our room overlooked said parking and we were able to check on our vehicle regularly though there was really no need - Switzerland is safe and secure.

Our room rate also included our entrance to the Aquabasilea complext that is attached to the hotel, although we had to argue with the front desk staff about this inclusion. I ended up having to email a copy of the Hotels.com reservation that proved this to the hotel, but they were very accommodating after that. The Aquabasilea complex is an amazing \"waterpark\" that includes a gym, sauna, several pools, waterslides and a spa. We wish we would have checked it out sooner – we would have spent the whole day there. There’s even a swim-up bar similar to those you find at an all-inclusive resort. The hotel provides towels and bathrobes if you ask.

I forgot to mention that the airline delayed my luggage upon arrival and the hotel was great in checking regularly for updates on its’ whereabouts for me. They certainly went above and beyond what was required of them in this regard.

Overall we loved the hotel this time and the last time we visited. We will be back – hopefully they continue to develop the area so that there are more restaurants/retail stores nearby. If the weather is nice it’s not too far to walk to the shopping center down the road and the train station is a nice easy 5-10 minute walk away as well. Between the hours of 4pm and 8pm there is a free shuttle that goes right from the hotel to the train station as well (meant for Aquabasilea guests but hotel guests are welcome as well).

Beim Empfang aquabasilea teilte uns direkt mit:
Der Eintritt wird pro Person berechnet – uns wurden 76 CHF für eine Erwachsene und ein Kind verrechnet. Leider gibt es keine Stundentarife; es wird der reguläre Preis verlangt, auch wenn man nur eine Stunde (als Hotelgast) bleibt. Zudem findet jeweils am letzten Samstag im Monat die XXL-Saunanacht mit textilfreiem Baden statt. Für uns war das kein optimaler Zeitpunkt, und für einen einstündigen Besuch lohnt sich der Preis daher nicht.

Das Zimmer ist gut, jedoch wird mit Pool und Welness geworben. (fällt in die Filterkriterien) und vor Ort stellt sich dann heraus, dass man gerne für 35 Franken in die im gleichen Gebäude sich befindende Sauna, Schwimmlandschaft kann.

Für Hotelgäste nicht inklusive.

Hier muss unbedingt nachgearbeitet werden und eindeutig deklarieren, dass es aufpreispflichtig ist. Sehr frustrierend wenn es sich vor Ort erst herausstellt.

Séjour agréable en famille

Très bon séjour en famille pour découvrir Bâle.
La gare de train pour Bâle est situé à 10 minutes à pied pour rejoindre le centre de Bâle en 10 minutes. Les seuls parking disponibles sont tous payant et il vaut mieux passer par l'hôtel car légèrement moins cher. Les chambres sont spacieuses et moderne. La literie est très bonne mais les coussins sont un peu petit à mon goût. Un parc aquatique jouxte l'hôtel pour un excellent moment de détente en famille. Le restaurant est bon et heureusement car pas d'autres options dans l'environnement proche à part un fast food à environ 10-15 minutes à pied.

A very nice hotel, however if ambition to elevate, breakfast was expected to open 06:30, bur was late opening. Early breakfast and vacuuming beside was not that nice having breakfast, could have been done prior.

Kein Wow Erlebnis für den Preis

Hotel ist OK. Unklar ist die Nutzung der Wellness-Anlage. In der Hotelbeschreibung ist dies angepriessen. Vorort wird erklärt es kostet pro Tag 35 CHF.
Dies wurde nicht während der Buchung angegeben. Nach langer (unnötiger) Diskussion, durfte ich trotzdem das Bad benutzen- Freude ist allerdings getrübt, wenn man dafür diskutieren muss.
Das Personal begrüsst einen zum Frühstück nicht, für Besteck muss man selber sorgen.

Friendly Staff, Good Restaurant, Clean and comfortable Room.
The Hotel does not have a pool as advertised. They offer a reduced entrance fee to Aqua Basilea.
