We stayed recently, this place is advertised as a 4-5 star resort. It is not. The beds are hard. Really hard and uncomfortable. All rooms have the same beds as we enquired. I do not normally complain but this was pretty bad. There was trash not emptied, litter everywhere. The sheets had dirt on them - so the bed was not clean on entry. We spoke to others at the resort and all had cleanliness issues. There was a glass bottle in the pool. Leaves and debris. The tiles on the steps in the pool were all removed and the lattice was left which was rough and unsafe. This place looks to be largely neglected - it is in need of a major overhaul and maintenance. The walkway in the lobby is damaged and gives way a bit when you walk on it. We booked a pool access room for 4 days and had to leave after the second night. We tried to leave after first night but staff made it difficult to cancel - said we needed to go through Expedia, then they ignored expedias attempts to contact them which meant we needed to stay another night. They then tried to say that reception (which is 24hours) couldn’t handle our checkout until the next day and when we got there the next day they tried to pull it again. The hotel refused partial refund for the days we paid for for checking out early. We explained the beds where much too hard (husband also has back issues which made it worse). Was very disappointed. It is sad to see when a place that was probably wonderful 20 years is neglected this badly. Less than 1⭐

I had a dreadful experience at this hotel and wouldn't recommend it to anyone, not even my dog. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a dirty environment and unprofessional front desk staff. My room had roaches, and the bed was uncomfortably hard with stained sheets. The shower was in a deplorable condition, and there were no clean towels provided throughout my stay.

To make matters worse, the restaurant was closed, adding to the frustrations. Each time I walked past the front desk, I encountered guests voicing their complaints, which only highlighted the hotel's numerous issues. This was an absolutely disappointing way to celebrate my birthday.

I strongly advise against staying here!

Rooms were given to us dirty on check in- there were cigarette buds, beer bottles, stained dirty sheets on the bed, dirty bathroom.
The room had an awful mould smell.
We asked staff to clean at 2.30pm upon getting the room. No one attended until 5pm. My partner even went to reception to ask at 6pm but they said housekeeping has been notified. No one came until 9pm that night. Reception then said housekeeping is now gone home.
We asked for a room change but staff said that only a manager could authorise this.
We then asked to speak with manager on duty- staff informed us that there are no managers during the day and they start at 11pm.
We waited to speak with the manager who upgraded us to a new room.
We got moved to our new room by 3am that morning.
The new room also was dirty, full of cobwebs, dust and more stained sheets. To top it off there was termites in the room and you could see frass/ turmite dust near the bed and the other furniture. I had trouble breathing that night.
We attempted to book another hotel but given it was new years eve- there were no bookings available and a few that were they were about 3000aud per night.
The hotel refused to acknowledge our concerns and denied a refund.
This hotel is in dire need of a refirb. Its falling apart. It needs a management and staff review.
Don't go here!!!! Other regular hotels are much better and worth your money.
Expedia wasn't able to help us either in this regard.

It was evident that this resort formerly was very nice, but poor maintenance, poor attention to the facilities, and low occupancy made it feel run down and definitely not a good value. We also had several maintained issues in our room that could not be addressed during our stay (such as broken shower).

Horrible, do not stay here, place is practically falling apart, photos are extremely old and do not reflect the state of the property. It’s also pretty dirty, old bed outside our rooms, rubbish everywhere, I don’t know what happened here, but it is almost abandoned.
Checked in and left after an hour. Staff refused to give refund as did Expedia, so don’t expect any assistance from any of them…

My experience and management didn't even reply to me:
I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding my recent stay at Wyndham Sea Pearl. My experience was far below expectations and caused significant stress and discomfort during what was supposed to be a celebratory trip for my 40th birthday. We arrived at the hotel around 1:30 AM after over 23 hours of travel, exhausted and eager to rest. Unfortunately, the welcome we received was far from hospitable. The staff at the front desk were arguing among themselves and did not greet us upon arrival. When I requested our room information, the staff member who assisted us provided minimal details and seemed dismissive. When we entered our assigned room, we discovered that it was in poor condition and found mouse droppings on the tray with the toothbrushes and shampoo. Feeling extremely uncomfortable, my husband inspected the room further, but we reluctantly decided to sleep and address the issue in the morning.
The following day, I requested a room change. Initially, the staff claimed no rooms were available but promised to relocate us later in the day. After packing our items and preparing to leave for lunch, I visited the front desk to confirm the arrangement, only to find that no one seemed aware of the request. After reminding a staff member of the situation, we were finally assured of a new room. Upon returning to the hotel, the new room presented a different issue: roaches. This was the final straw for us.

But nothing was offered for the inconvenience, no free day or even a refund for a night of no sleep because of ants. Disappointing Experience – Would Not Recommend

If you’re looking for a lively, welcoming atmosphere, this is not the place. Throughout my entire week, I encountered only a handful of other guests, leaving the hotel feeling eerily empty, quiet, and devoid of energy.

The location was particularly inconvenient. Situated high in the hills, it’s isolated with no footpaths nearby, making walking to places like Bangla Road — as some reviews suggested — impossible. In reality, you will need to arrange transport for every trip, and the drive is much longer than advertised, especially with traffic.

The property itself is large and confusing to navigate, with no elevators, countless stairs, and winding pathways. At times, it felt more like wandering through a deserted complex than staying at a resort.

The breakfast offering was disappointing. Despite being promoted as a buffet, it consisted of a limited selection: a few pastries, some eggs, and a small amount of fruit. Hot dishes often appeared cold and unappetizing, and the dining area was consistently empty, adding to the sense of isolation.

As for the pools, they were also empty — and while that might initially seem appealing, the visible broken floorboards around the area raised serious safety concerns.

Overall, I would recommend researching other options if you’re seeking a more comfortable and enjoyable stay.

The initial check in process was very chaotic and not very welcoming
Receptionist was yelling at a difficult guest.
The overall cleanliness was of a very poor standard, eg stains on the bedsheets.
The accommodation is best suited to the young crowd. The nights were very loud and catching a good nights sleep was difficult with the road noise of all the bikes pulling in from a long night out.

Our stay started off a little rocky with the 2 rooms we requested not being available. Were looking for privacy hence the two separate rooms for 3 travelers. They said it would be ready the next day. It wasn't. We had packed all our belongings just to have to unpack again. Twice we did this. Finally they gor us our rooms. One room was ok. Second room wasnt stocked properly but not the end of the world. Plunge pool was less than desirable and clearly hadnt been cleaned. Didnt even bother to mention to staff at that point. For the price we paid not the greatest value.
The plus side.......Great location close to town if you grab a taxi or a Grab. Grounds are nice along with the common pools. Food / Coffee /Beer overpriced but most hotels are as well.

OVERALL HORRIBLE!!! I’ve traveled to over 40 countries and this has been by far the worst resort I’ve ever been at. I stayed here for 7 night. The first night was in a deluxe room and the other 6 nights was in a suite.

The deluxe room was filthy. The pillows were wet, sheets had stains, shower had mold, and the hot tub had dirt and rust. I called the front desk over 10 times to have someone come look at the room but i got no answer. Only when i went ti the front desks did they send someone to look at the room. When they came up to my room i pointed everything out and the guy said ok and never came back to my room.

Because of the inconvenience the front desk gave me a late checkout time but one if the cleaning ladies knocked on my door twice to tell me i had to leave. She went as far as sticking her foot in the door so i couldn’t close it and slapped my hand down. There’s no management on the grounds so i had to make a complaint with the front desk only for them not to do anything at all. I wasn’t accommodated in any way. They gave me a number to reach out to one of the managers but they never responded to my messages.

The property is very dated and run down. The wood by the pools are chipped and cracked to the point i almost got a splinter from walking on it. Very poor experience overall. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

TLDR: DO NOT STAY HERE.

This place is one of the most disorganized accommodations I’ve ever stayed in. From the moment I checked in, the room was a mess, and the other guest trying to check in was facing the same issue. They informed us that the property was overbooked and would shuttle us to a sister property. However, I insisted on staying in the suite I had booked, as I had paid for it.

Surprisingly, the staff member offered to upgrade me to a free room for one night. I accepted and spent the night in the upgraded room, which was pleasant but lacked basic amenities like a working shower and stains throughout the unit, indicating poor maintenance.

The next day, it was time to change rooms. All three employees at the desk were engrossed in customer service issues related to my check-in experience. I stood there for about 30-45 minutes before one of them finally managed to assist me. Fortunately, they had our room ready as promised and moved our luggage. While waiting I overheard the same conversations happening about \"we have no rooms, but I can put you in an upgraded one and if you want to continue to stay there you have to pay extra per night in addition to what you've already paid.\" In my opinion, I think it's a scam that they're trying to pull in order to get guests to pay more for upgrades.

Initially the property seems nice and clean, rooms are clean to be honest, nothing wrong about it, but maintenence and cleanliness of the ponds (little pools) by the rooms is very bad...water dirty and a bit smelling... no shuttke to the beacj as advertised and after A/C pipe broke and leak at night, I found myself on the floor when walked to the coffee area... phone lines didn't work, couldn't ask for help, had to walk down to the front desk...no manager on site for over two months as i was told...personnel is unprofessional, they can't help in any way...very limited English-speaking knowledge...real bad experience.

I don’t normally write reviews but I felt like had to as this hotel was terrible, they don’t clean your room you have to keep calling them numerous times and when they finely do they don’t even change your sheets they use the same ones and also they never change towels or even add toilet paper it’s a hassle to get it done, at reception there is always someone arguing about something with the staff. I mean I did read the bad reviews before booking but it was cheapest I could find so I went with it as I needed to be in that area but I didn’t realise would be so bad

On a scale of 1-10, this place was fine. No frills, definetly could use a deep scrub down. Moldy seats by the pool. Our hot tub didn’t get hot, but that was fine because it’s hot outside and we didn’t need it. Breakfast was bad and over priced but getting food delivered was easy. Only thing that really bothered me was the feeling of being trapped. When I booked, I was not aware that it is impossible to walk anywhere. Hotel is located off a busy/dangerous highway so walking anywhere was off the table (I did it once and it was scary) cabs were very very difficult to get and when you did get one they would over charge you because what other option do you have? If you’re going to stay here, rent a scooter and don’t have any expectations or standards.

Unfortunately there is no shuttle to the beach. We were aware the Patong beach was a good distance from the resort, but there are no sidewalks to get there. Just a steady stream of scooters and mass traffic. Simply put, attempting to walk there is taking your life in your hands. Expect to budget $40-$50 Cdn for transportation to and from hotel to beach area per day. The WiFi is akin to dial up modems of 20 years ago. Couldn’t stream Prime music, let alone videos. It constantly had to be reconnected. Extremely frustrating to say the least. Want entertainment? Good luck. You get BBC and one English Channel on the TV. The reception is slightly better than “rabbit ears antennas” from the 60’s. The picture was completely snowy and migraine inducing. Want fresh brewed coffee? Wishful thinking. Instant freeze dried is on the menu. Like to dry your hands at the kitchen sink? Sorry, there is an apparent shortage of dish clothes and paper towel at the “resort”. Care to wash your face in the bathroom? Bring your own face clothes.You seriously get two bath towels. That’s it. No hand or face towels. Care to walk in bare feet? Better have leather skin.The decking has to be original and nails were popping up in places and the planks are warping. Want a glass of wine on the bar deck? 400baht plus tax and service charge buys you an under poured mediocre red in a dirty glass. Simply put, think twice. Staff was great.Tried to make us happy. This from a crew member with 35yrs traveling the globe

I recently just stayed at this resort, and I just have to say it is the worst experience I’ve had at any hotel. For starters, when we checked into the room there was dirt on the side of the bed… We then asked if they can clean it, everyone took their time , for about an hour , making us ask again. That’s just one if many examples of them being unprofessional. Secondly, there were spiders and termites found in the room. The only thing I will give them is that the food was a 10/10 but we did not feel clean, unprofessional staff, toilet constantly clogged. To my final point, my girlfriend and I booked a massage, for the afternoon , and were excited for it all day , we get to the massage place and the receptionist goes “ oh we can only take one of you because one of our staff got sick” , okay I understand things happen, but trying their best to reach our room , to let us know, would not have been the worst thing in the world!! Also everything is a far walk to us walking to the spa was not close. I am aware we all will have different experiences but I personally would never stay at this resort again and the boutique hotels were WAY better.

Overall our stay was decent. Only due to the fact that we had a great bartender who was constantly supplying drinks by the pool. The amenities are very full but out dated and it’s obvious. Cleaning service was very poor, and only came around when we were actually using the room, which was limited times. First night I found an aunt nest and no matter how much I killed they just kept coming. The staff was kind aka our server but the front desk didn’t speak English well and when we tried to leave early they wouldn’t refund us our last day, they didn’t even help with booking rides although they did shuttle us from the airport for a large fee.
Location is far from a lot and due to the high traffic it takes a long time to get anywhere. Wouldn’t recommend.

Cockaroaches in room. After staff killed cockaroaches they did not clean. Shower was never cleaned. Bedsheets were never changed and they were dirty. Requests from staff would take hours. I called to have garbage removed so no more bugs would come in... the staff came after 16 hours. Room service is supposed to be 24 hours however after midnight no one picks up the phone.

The team and room were lovely. Overall the resort needs a bit of maintenance to the common areas and the spas don’t have any heat functions so are really cold making them unusable for most of our stay. I think the price is fair reflecting the condition and we still had a pleasant stay. Even though it’s located on the outskirts of Patong, we had no issues with transport.

This is literally the one of the worst properties I’ve ever stayed at my life. I did a 10 day trip in Thailand and this was the last hotel we were supposed to stay at and it was completely trifling. There was black mode all over the bathroom the bathtub had mold in it. There was stains all over the bathroom in the kitchen in the living room area. There was rust in the kitchen. There was rust in the bedroom. There was rust on the chairs on the countertops The flowers they had in my room were moldy and dying and wilted. The drawers have molded in it. The glass was completely dirty with fingerprints. The showerhead had rust and dirt and mildew all over the top and bottom. The hotel had no hot water. The slippers were used dirty. And be up look like they just got them out of a thrift store the towels stunk like mildew and the staff was completely unhelpful. One of the ladies told me that just because the bathroom is dirty doesn’t mean the bathroom is dirty that I shouldn’t have any problem going to sleep? They refuse to move my room or give me a refund when I did not want to stay in unsafe unsanitary room that they provided me I have some health problems and the fact that they have black mold in the bathroom is completely outrageous. When I complain about it they all just laughed in my face and did nothing about it. They told me I had to sleep there until the morning time in order for me to get anything done

Spa was closed during our stay. We had ants and roaches in the room. We didn’t have WiFi for a day of the trip. There was only one restaurant open. Also my second day there, they sent a bill to my room of all my charges. The next day I came back to go into my room and my key was not working. I went to the hotel lobby and they explained that I haven’t payed my bill. I explained to them that I am here for another couple nights. They refused and told me to handle the bill now. Upon arrival hotel looks decent and staff was pleasant. As I walked towards my room some parts of hotel look abandoned and unkempt. Particularly areas that may have been used for dining. Pools were dirty. I was expecting a small pool outside of room but it ended up being a non working hot tub which was never fixed. Other rooms have an actual tub outside their room. Room was fine but You are only provided with one room key.

FALSE ADVERTISEMENT
Woke up in the middle of the night itching and my legs on fire. I turned on the light and found red ants all over the bed. I called the concierge and they send housekeeping, as they are changing the bed my daughter and I noticed the bed sheets had blood stains on them.

I think they are extremely under staffed. To request anything took minimum half an hour, even for a pool towel or to print a document.

Was not able to order soda water to the room for room service. Really?

when I checked in, I was shocked at the cleanliness of the bedroom and the jacuzzi. There were dust and had an odd smell that was quite unbearable. I contacted the receptionist and they sent the cleaning crew 2 hours later. The water in the jacuzzi was disgusting and I didn't dare use it. On Expedia website, it showed that the 2 bedroom King sized beds, however it wasnt the case. We had 1 King Size and 2 double beds in the other room. When we queried the hotel staff, we were told that Expedia had misrepresented the details and all their 2 bedroom suites does not have 2 king sized beds. The laundry service was also an issue as I had to get them to iron the clothes as to was crumbled upon delivery.The breakfast was the worst I have ever had as the variety was limited and I am glad I had other options for breakfast outside the resort. During one of the nights, there wasnt any water supply for 4 hours and I had to use the public shower room to get changed as I had dinner reservations and was getting late.

Our room was very comfortable and large. Spa was not usable due needing repair. A lovely resort but getting a bit run down. Good room service and nice resturant on site. 10 mins to Patong but otherwise quite isolated on hill with nothing accessible by foot. Lovely view of hills.

After reporting that the Internet and phone line were not functioning in my room the problems were never fixed. Customer service at the front desk is mostly dysfunctional.

Do not stay here at all costs. One, this hotel does not have bilingual staff outside of one woman Tanisha, who was incredible. But everyone else has no idea how to help or understand you if you speak another language.

I was assigned the wrong room, and ended up ending my stay early before even getting the correct room.

The staff is rude. The hotel is not clean, and I had lizards, spiders, and frogs in my room. The water also cut off while I was in the shower for hours with no warning and no apology.

I eventually called Expedia to be transferred. This hotel is terrible, old and the restaurant staff even flat irons their hair behind the bar while serving you.

Do not stay here, you will have a terrible time and there are so many better places across the street and down the road that’s completely night and day.

Tanisha I hope you escape that place as they don’t deserve you.

Compared to the pictures on the hotels website, the hotel looked like a neglected version of itself. Upon arrival we had to get our sheets changed due to stains on them. The hot tub on our patio was dirty. On the walls it was patched up with puddy. The food in the cafe was pretty gross and tasted packaged. The gym was neglected and dirty. The bar at the pool was completely empty. They also force you to put down a 3000 TBH deposit in cash on arrival. I wouldn’t suggest staying here.

Very low standards. Had a rat running around in my room and didn't have any hot water for half a day. Definitely not a 5 star resort. Was so glad when I left that place. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.

I’d like to rate it at 1 in all honesty but I need to give the workers here the benefit of the doubt.

The room is not clean. Check your sheets. The towels were questionable. The TV broken. The sink is terrible. AC works but is not temp regulated so it runs all night long.

The sink has high pressure water with it splashing at you. There is no way to adjust it. Bath tub water comes out to be yellow. Knob in the bath tub broken. Shower was the only proper thing working.

Jacuzzi is nasty. It just doesn’t get cleaned and who knows what goes in it.

My stay was below average and this is supposed to be 5 star hotel. Sadly, it is not. FML, it was like staying in a single room hostel.

Location is terrible. I would not recommend it to anyone who would like to go to the beaches. Traffic is horrendous from the start and does not seem safe for anyone to be driving out of the resort.

Great staff, unbelievable property on the mountain and the view was beautiful although I would advise to get alot of Baht at the airport as many places dont take credit card but the hotel was the exception. out of 5, easy 4.8. Staff goes above and beyond to give good hospitality, and always with a smile.

This property staff at check in and reception was such a disappointment!!

All 3 beds were ant infested and when the staff was notified, they said that there was nothing that they can do. They did not even bother to apologize, and the ants have been us the entire stay. Then the staff went on to bill us for services that were not explained in the beginning that we thought was included into the room. The staff was very disrespectful and money hungry I would not recommend staying here. There was a bunch of other properties around the area that were just as nice.
