Did not have breakfast at the hotel. Staff very friendly but housekeeping need to improve. The room was very clean but staff did not report on defected items. Our shower head was extremely loose and could not be attached to its holder but no one from housekeeping reported it. We stayed for 3 nights.

Its good! But..

It was a great stay here. The service was wonderful, and the quality of the room was top.

HOWEVER, the pillows and the shower are terrible.
The pillows, there should be hard and soft pillows, they were very uncomfortable to sleep on.
The shower.. oh lord. the water pressure is so weak and does not allow you to push it past the basic pressure. The design of the tub meant that water spills out if you move out the way.

It is very frustrating to experience, as a nice calming shower is a huge part of my relaxing routine after a long day of work/travel.

I will likely be hesitant to book Courtyard as I notice this pillow and shower issue is common amongst their hotels.

We enjoyed our short stay at the hotel. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Great service at the lobby lounge and the room was spacious and clean. The only areas could have been better is the water pressure for the shower and blackout curtains. Will definitely return in the future :)!

We arrived early and were told our room would be ready at 12:30 pm, so we checked our luggage and went out. When we returned at 1 pm we were told it would be another 5 minutes; 10 minutes later they said another 20 minutes. If they had been upfront from the get-go we would have planned accordingly.

We splurged on the Presidential Suite and it is lovely. However, while there is a large dining table and lots of glasses, there were no plates or silverware! And there were food scraps from the previous guest under the table. The refrigerator was welcome, but we would have liked a microwave as well.

Finally, the hotel web site lists “laundry facilities” which sounds like guests would be able to do their own laundry, but it was the usual costly practice of having the hotel do the laundry.

Very dissapointing for the price. The room looked dark and miserable. There was an old, musty damp carpet smell. We had to change rooms 3 times and they all smelt the same. We wanted to walk out the hotel.

Safe and big parking onder the hotel The only remark is that the coffee machine in the room was not emptied or cleaned for a while. There were still capsules present in the machine. If you need an american appeal than rhis place is for you. Breakfast is great but when you have to pay for your own parking it takes away from all the great stuff gym, tv channels english, very friendly staff, auto door's for when your hands are full. Great stay despite parking.

Lovely 3 night stay

We enjoyed a 3 night stay and really liked the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful on check in and check out. The room was really clean and well presented too. The courtyard bar was a nice place for a drink, we didn‘t eat at the hotel at all so cannot comment on that aspect.
The surrounding area is quite business oriented so it was quiet and peaceful. Transport links to the main town were really close and very frequent. We didn’t have a car so to get into central Linz it was a few minutes by bus then switch to a tram or around a 10-15 minute walk depending on your destination.
Overall we had a great stay and would recommend the hotel.

Our stay at the hotel was very comfortable. We had a standard room and it was spacious, with two large twin beds and a large bathroom as well. It was clean and aside from no coffee machine or kettle, it had every amenity you could want (wifi, large television, locked safe, etc). The staff was very helpful and accommodating. At the last minute, our stay had to be shortened by one day and the manager was very quick in assisting us with this change to our reservation.

Our only word of caution to travellers would be that this hotel is situated a bit outside of Linz - about a 15 minute walk from the central station, and 15 minutes to walk into the city centre.

front desk staff was very nice and respectful as one would expect from a courtyard hotel.

Unfortunately we tried many times to call the hotel using the advertised number and nobody answers, including one time where we waited 20minutes with no response! We eventually found a corporate number which was very helpful but I suggest they update their numbers.

The hotel was clean, the bed was comfortable, the food was delicious. We stayed May 22-24, 2017 (early summer). The hotel turns off the AC at night along with the Power to the rooms beginning at 11pm. If you are dealing with jet lag, and want to use the electricity or to be cool and comfortable in this room, you are in the wrong place. I was trying to read and I had to get up every 30 minutes to turn on the main light switch, because it auto shut off. The AC unit also turns off and will NOT turn back on until 7am. This is typical European standards, but I did not expect this from a highly rated USA based hotel. The hotel is about a 15 minute drive from the main street area. You have to pay for WIFI in the room.

This is a very nicely decorated hotel at a decent rate in Linz. Walking to the center took about 20 minutes or there were public transportation options. Breakfast was amazing! The gym was also impressive.

The wifi is free only in the reception and restaurant. In a modern world this is mean spirited especially when you consider the cost of the room. It like having an extra charge for the electricity or hot water that you use. I would recommend this chain only as a last resort.

pay for the big brand, get far less in return

The room did not have basic nessecities such as toilet soap. The room was too hot although once I turned down the temperatures it became comfortable after few hours. The parking charge was excessive. Again I expect hotel guests to have free parking at least at night .The worst was there was no free wi-fi. The least I expect from Marriot is free internet access. What I did like : Breakfast was great and there were computers in lobby for printouts. So in all it turned out to be quite expensive and Iv had better stays at hotels that are lesser stars and in brand.

The week I stayed was unusually hot, but the room was air-conditioned and comfortable (Another hotel I stayed in the same area had no AC, since it doesn't usually get that hot in the summer). OUTSTANDING in LINZ.

We had a great stay here for 2 nights and it was surprisingly the best of the the Courtyard hotels out of 3 in the eastern Europe area.
Although the exterior seems dated and older looking, the interior is really quite modern in terms of the decors and conditions.
We found the room to be large enough and very comfortable for 2, the lighting works great, especially in the bathroom. The mini bar keeps the drinks cold, which comes in very handy. The room has enough of a splash of colors to be not boring.
Best of all was the breakfast, with great food and drinks selections, eggs cooked to order. Just Fantastic all all around.
Underground parking may be on the high side but great accesses.
Walking to town could be a tad long for some people but its straight forward.

Very friendly and professional staff accomodated us - as requested - in a quiet room. The room was clean, large enough, and well equipped.
Nice: They do not have a stuffed mini-bar, but a fridge and a 24 hour shop that allows to buy what you really need at a much lower price.
Parking is hefty (17 € or so per day), but the parking garage was right underneath, extremely clean and well lit. The width of the bays could be a little more.
Overall a highly recommendable hotel.

Very well maintained centrally located. lots of business facilities but also great for leisure visit. Centrally located. Walking distance to Musiktheater which was my destination most evenings. Old city center and Danube shore a bit further away. Copious breakfast buffet. Underground garage overpriced.
They themselves seem confused over free or not room internet connection policy. They should simply make it available free like all other hotels in this price class. I spent nine nights over two weeks and this is my location for Linz visit.

Hotel is better suited for Business travelers on an expense account. Not the best location, off on it's own, no restaurants immediately nearby. Bus stop close enough to get you to the main drag. We stayed at a Hilton the night before, similar property, and far better by a long shot. A small bottle of beer and a small water at this Marriot; over 5 Euros. The Hilton, a wonderful all you can eat buffet breakfast, FREE. I don't like paying for teeny little extras; things that should be included in the room rate (like a small water).
Room comfort was fine. Cost was 3 times what we paid for similar hotels in similar cities.

After a whole day in snowbound traffic, this was a great stopover for the night.
Easy hotel to find, well lit and on the main road.
A little bit tricky to pull into at night as the entrance is before you reach the hotel building.
But that to one side, for the three members of our party, from Walk in to Walk out it was perfect in every respect

I stay here quite a lot for business, and it is always consistently good. If I had any critique, it is that the staff are breakfast are a bit over-eager to remove used plates from the table, and that the mobile dish-stacking unit makes a significant clutter. It's a bit too much for first thing in the morning. I think the trivial nature of this criticism should indicate to you just how good this hotel is. I love the friendly atmosphere and mischievous staff.

Stayed here as an overnight stay as part of a longer trip. Hotel was clean and quiet and the rooms were a good size and comfortable. Seemed to be far from Linz town so probably would not be that suitable for a holiday but is close to the motorway for travel or business.

Great hotel for overnight stay

We had a very relaxing stay at this hotel. The room was superb and the breakfast buffet was simply fantastic. The hotel may seem quite impersonal but it was a perfect overnight stay hotel with great spa facilities and a relatively short walk to Linz city centre. Friendly and very efficient staff.

Value for money....

We were at the hotel at the same time that a convention was taking place next door. Hotel breakfast was packed with delegates who sort of took over the entire hotel. Other than that we were pleased and made another booking for the following weekend when we drove back through Austria. If you need a child's bed/cot make sure you reserve one in advance! Price on hotels.com was half that of booking direct with hotel.

Location is a bit out of the way but walkable to downtown area. Also, walked from the train station to the hotel with our rollaboards with no problem - probably about a kilometer or so. Hotel looks a bit industrial as does its neighborhood. Good restaurant for dinner - execellent buffet the night we ate there.

Overall a nice hotel, but I would expect more of this hotel range, specifically when a cleaness of bathroom is concern. Bathroom tiles has dirty groutings in a shower area and bathroom floor was not cleaned thoroughly either.
Staff was extremely polite and very attentive what combined with the hotel location it gives the hotel a 4* rating.

Courtyard Marriott Linz - Too far from downtown

By far the nicest Courtyard I have stayed in. The rooms were large and comfortable. However it has some down sides, the neighborhood that it is in seems a bit on the rough side. It is also not convenient to the Aldstat and most of the things to do in Linz, you will either need to drive, cab, or bus it to see any points of interest. We had a number of issues with the meter on their parking garage and at one point the staff actually laughed at my wife when she complained about the problem.

Modern and convieniently located, with good parking facilities, although quite a business rathen then family orientated hotel. Rooms were spacious and comfortable, but no special little treats left for the guests.
We used the gym which was well equipped.
WE also had a small meal in the bar, which was pleasant enough but quite sterile.
Overall a good hotel, would recommend it if staying for a short time.

Loving Linz

The staff was extremely helpful each time we needed them. They spoke were very English and took their time helping us. We asked about a restaurant with a view and they gave us directions to a wonderful restaurant on top of the mountain overlooking the city. It was great. Our room was modern and very clean. Tolles Hotel für eine Städtetour in Linz

Ausführlicher und freundlicher Check-In, aber ohne Extras. Geräumige Tiefgarage, die bei uns im Zimmerpreis inkludiert war. Zimmer war gemütlich, hell und mit Teppichboden eingerichtet. Eine Kaffeemaschine mit Kapseln und Teebeutel mit Wasserkocher waren vorhanden. Das bereitgestellte Wasser sollte 4 Euro kosten. Das ist nicht zeitgemäß, ob nun Member oder nicht.

Die Klimaanlage ist so ausgeführt, dass man die Temperatur um 3 Grad erhöhen oder senken kann.

Tolles Frühstücksbuffet mit reichlich Auswahl, hochwertigen Zutaten und Überraschungen (z.B. Koch für Omelettes)! Für ein in der Rate inkludiertes Frühstücksbuffet musste ich jedoch noch nie am Frühstückstresen unterschreiben.
