As a family we travel a lot and this hotel was disappointing. From the photos it looked like in was in a lovely location right next to the Danube and yes, it was right beside the river but that's all it was beside. It was not within walking distance of the city centre. The 27 bus does take you directly to the centre and the busstop is only a 5min walk from the hotel but it is not a very nice walk especially when it was dark at night. I would imagine it would be a very lonely and unsafe walk on your own. When we arrived the first night it was late as our flight had been delayed. We got to the hotel around midnight and the two male receptionnists were smoking at the entrance to the hotel. They also were not the friendliest, no offer of pleasantries....\"enjoy your stay etc\". The rooms themselves were just ok, the decor quite drab and old-fashioned and there were no USB posts which should be a must in this day and age. The bathrooms were clean and satisfactory. I can't comment on breakfast as we did not have any in our 3 night stay. This hotel is supposed to be 4 Star but in my opinion it is very far away from that. I would not recommend :(

Building itself-issues
-walls paper thin, could hear everything next door.
-next door guests partying until after 11 when I was jet lagged and tired. Tried to call the front desk but the phone was dead. Replaced the next day. Heating and fan controls in the room did not work. Surges of hot water while taking a shower.

The hotel is good, however for 4stars it needs to be really spotless or cleaner. The shower gel is missing, but its not a big deal. There were no tea bags since i drink only tea maybe that's way i spotted:) Again no complaints;)
The location is good.
All in all we enjoyed staying, would definitely recommend the hotel and come back again. The staff were very friendly.

Very clean room, pillows were comfortable, bathroom was modern and clean, loved the view from the window. Receptionist was nice. Very pleased with our stay in Linz at this hotel. Price was good considering we booked half an hour before we arrived at the hotel.

New property. Sparkling clean. Modern finishes, Reception staff pleasant. Location is on river but is next to a big construction zone as a big overpass is being built. Accessibility OK if you have a car. Not very walkable for sightseeing. No restaurants in vicinity. A bus stop is 400 mt away. Website should give directions for travellers arriving by train or bus ie. take bus 27 going to Fernie*** and get off at ****. We spent more than 2 hours trying to find our way there. A very bad start to our stay

Yes this is an older hotel, but it's location just off the highway, yet only a very pleasant 20 minute walk to the Old Town, made this an excellent choice for us.
The room and bathroom were very clean.
The bed shook every time someone closed the door in the hallway, but that is not the hotel's fault but the guest's.
This may not be for everyone but we felt it was a very fair price for value received.

near the motorway, quite a walk into town, nothing in the exact area.. restaurant has good views over the river. rooms (refurbished) were nice, showers were good, but only one english tv channel (usa news). parking cost extra, but limited free kerb parking nearby. nice staff. comfy firm bed. ideal business stopover.

Nice hotel close to the city centre.

Nice hotel, clean, good and quit location, close to the Danube river. By walk besides the Danube river it takes aprox. 20 min. to get to the city centre. Breakfast was awesome and tasty, staff very polite. I can recommended this hotel. We were satisfied, we will come back to this hotel again.

Stayed here for one night while cycling along the Donau. Hotel and room were in good condition and with good shower and WiFi reception. Breakfast was avilable for 16E, a bit too pricey. Did not have a good sleep as the room was hot and stuffy and with the window open there was a tremendous amount of traffic noise from a busy highway. Twenty minute walk to historic centre and shopping. Right on the Donau Radweg.

relatively unfriendly pople. Do not really bother about the guest wishes. We had reserved a business room with a queen size bed…….they gave us a business room with two single beds and said these are queen size….ridiculous explanation. They made no effort to comply with the standard as defined in our reservation, just did not care.-Breakfast buffet: absolutely not four start hotel quality, may be one star……limited choices, not all fresh….. will never take that hotel again

Not recommended for business or pleasure.

We spent two nights in a business-class room (the room type that offers air conditioning at this property). The shower in the first room did not drain at all, and instead flooded the entire bathroom--something that we discovered at 8p in the evening. It took the front desk staff over an hour and a half to \"find another room that could accommodate us for both evenings of the stay\", something that seems odd, given that their vacancy rate on the evening in question was over fifty percent. The lack of maintenance personnel on-site was surprising to us for a hotel of its size, and the lack of prompt or effective service was highly disappointing.

The bar staff was highly discourteous and refused to provide drink service during operating hours (5:30p).

The property is also older, and in need of some upgrades in the common area. Additionally, it is rather distant from the \"tourist\" area, such as there is, in Linz, and is instead located next to two shipyards. We would not recommend the hotel for a pleasure (tourist stay), or business stay--there are many locations much closer to the city center, and with better business facilities.

When we checked in I asked for some good restaurants around and was told to check out the hotel restaurant and I said that was great but what about other restaurants in the area. I was told there were none and the best place to eat was the hotel restaurant. I asked for shopping and they pointed me to that so of course found great places to eat there. It gave me a sour taste when they kept pointing me back to the hotel restaurant. We did eat there once and had dessert there also and it was good but they should still provide other locations to eat other than just the hotel.

Excellent hotel with a mature sense for service

The Steigenberger is a perfect place for business as well as family guests, the service is provided thanks to a highly trained staff, professional and familiar. We stayed for one night, but could have easily stayed on for weekday and months if that would have been the case. Excellent food and a baris available at the premises, the layout of the hotel is nice and gives a sense of space and resort like feel. The suuroundings offer walks and runs for those people who need that along the journey. Easy access from highway roads and nearness to the central parts of Linz.

One of the worst places I ever stayed! They started at 7am with jackhammers and other noisy machinery, right next to my room. The whole area where I was placed was a construction zone; what a bad and unprofessional decision by this hotel management!

Refurbished hotel a little bit off the center of Linz, right at the Autobahn. Easy to reach by car, but you really need the car. The hotel has been refurbished by Steigenberger, but the rooms still smell of tobacco. Breakfast not included in room price. Overall a very good value considering the low room cost.

Great hotel, but no AC!

Hotel was very nice and clean. Staff was friendly. We had dinner at the restaurant it was very tasty! I'd eat there again. Was close to the river with a nice walking trail, made for a great after dinner stroll with the family. Only complaint was No AC in our room. If it were for the heat wave passing through it wouldn't have been bad. I guess we had bad timing!

Quick stopover from budapest to munich

It was on the way from budapest to munich, we needed a place to stay for the night. It was just off the highway, easy for us to find and continue the journey the next day. We reached in the wee hours of 1am, we were greeted by smiles and warm service from the receptionist. It was really nice after a long, wet. And cold drive. Hotel is slightly dated. The bed was comfy everything was really clean and neat. One down side, it is not airconditioned. It was a cool 16degree celsius night, so we just opened the huge window and slept, it worked great for us. The breakfast is slightly pricey at 15 euros per person, hence we skipped it.

Great stop espeacially if you are on bikes

We booked this hotel because it was along the Danube on our way to Vienna via bicycle and it turned out to be a great place even though it is across from a small train-station. Our room was very quiet, super clean and the small restaurant had great food at very reasonable prices. They also had a nice locked storage room for the bicycles and a good breakfast. We would stay here again.

This hotel is beautiful and clean. The views from the room and from the common areas is breath taking. It was eloquent and well kept. I had fantastic service during my stay, and enjoyed a lovely breakfast and a delicious, filling dinner, for which I believe I was ridiculously under charged. I did go from the airport to the hotel by public transport and found that it was not a great location for walking. Getting to the city center requires a taxi or quite a few blocks of walking and a bus or tram ride. The neighborhood seemed safe enough. I was never worried about walking alone. I just wished for restaurants or pubs closer to the hotel. River views and a very nice hotel make up for a lot though and a taxi to the city center in morning traffic was only ten euros. Would recommend.

The hotel room was very nice for the price; very modern, with the exception of the TV (which was not a flat screen). The staff were very nice and professional, and spoke excellent English (I speak very little German). The location is not great, being located at the end of an alleyway without a proper sidewalk. The view of the river was nice, and it is only a one minute walk to the bus-line though.

No free wifi was a bit disappointing.

Hotellet er fuldstændig uden charme, grim arkitektur og grimme farver. Receptionen kunne ikke besvare spørgsmål og vidste ikke hvilke tider hotellets restaurant havde åbent til aften eller morgenmad.
Gode senge at sove i og helt ok værelse med udsigt til floden, dog er der en stolpe lige foran vinduet.

Meine Familie was zum 4. Mal in diesem Hotel, die Lage ist für einen Zwischenstopp bei einer längeren Reise optimal. Das Frühstück war etwa teuer, wir haben darauf verzichtet und in einer Bäckerei unweit vom Hotel gefrühstückt.

Es war ein schöner Aufenthalt. Besonders gut für Reisende mit Hund, da das Hotel direkt an dem Donauufer liegt wo auch Hunde frei laufen dürfen und auch in die Donau dürfen. Würde es für den nächsten Aufenthalt sofort wieder buchen :0)

Definitiv in die Jahre gekommen, mit wenigen Ausnahmen beim Personal wird man wohl eher als Buisnessgast im Anzug besser bedient ggf. auch verstanden. Um kurz nach acht waren mal die Brötchen aus, kamen auch nicht mehr nach, wo das Frühstück bis 10 geht. Mal Saft, mal nicht, je nach Laune gefühlt, Croissant mal vom Vortag mal frisch, eine halbwegs gleichbleibende Qualität und Auswahl wäre wünschenswert. So definitiv die 19 Euro P. Person nicht wert. Zimmer mit Blick zur Donau gab es auch nicht und eine Duftkerze war notwendig. Parkplatz nur gegen Aufpreis 16 Euro in der Tiefgarage. Draußen „frei“ in der Kurve, ein Lotteriespiel. Ist halt Industriegebiet und eher auf Geschäftsreise ausgelegt.

Keine Wünsche offen!

Seit über 10 JAhren bin ich regelmäßig in diesem Hotel Gast. Wie immer ist alles perfekt, vom Check In bis Check Out. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich das Team im Restaurant, vom Frühstück bis Abendessen, am Abend an der Bar ist mir sehr freundlich und entgegenkommend Herr Wael aufgefallen, an dieser Stelle: Danke!
Nicht missen möchte ich die Sauna mit der Dachterasse mit einem wunderschönen Ausblick auf die Donau!

kein Service und nicht sehr sauber..

Service und Kundenorientiert ist etwas anderes.. bei 70 Nächten im Jahr geschäftlich, ist man bereits gewohnt und bei einen Preis von um die 150€ kann man doch etwas erwarten. Dreckig, alt, Fitness und Sauna alles andere wie auf den Fotos.. leider kein weiterer Aufenthalt von meiner Seite

Ordentliches Hotel leider etwas abgelegen keine Gelegenheit in der Nähe Abends wegzugehen. Hotelrestaurant recht teuer.
