Great hotel , Central Location

This hotel is well located for the station and central Berlin. Easy to get around. Hotel itself is basic , no frills room. Only drawback is description states a King Bed, Reality is two singles side by side with two singe duvets which i\"m not a fan off. Nice hotel bar which is 24 hours which is a plus. Would defiantly stay here again though.

Nice hotel, Nice Room, Gluten Free bread.

I chose this hotel because it was walking distance to the Brandenburg gate and I had limited time. I enjoyed my stay, and would stay again.

I had not pre-booked the breakfast, because being gluten free means breakfast isn't always worth having, however after talking to the reception staff, I decided to give it a go and enjoyed it very much. I appreciated the warm gluten free bagettes I was given. Lots of options. The only thing that would be helpful is adding allergy notices, so I knew which of the meats etc contained gluten.

The location is close to the Tier Garten, a massive park in Berlin and great to walk in.

The hotel was welcoming and nicely decorated public areas. Standard Motel One look. The room looked so bare and soulless. It felt like it needed colour on the walls or some artwork. It was perfectly clean and comfortable but dull. The location was amazing. Minutes from Schloss Bellevue and the Tiergarten for an early morning run and the staff were very cheery and helpful.

The facility itself is in a very excellent condition, the breakfast was awesome.
I’m just disappointed with the lady receptionist at night. I have a time constraint to see Berlin for 3 hrs the next morning so I asked her which metro station to get off. She gave me a map and marked Ostenhoff to get down and bec she’s a local I followed her so that I can see Berlin Wall. I am stupid to follow her and not google maps. So learned lesson, don’t ask directions from their staff, just use google maps. To cut the story short, I have to go back to alexanderplatz station and just check around, I didn’t have a chance to go yo Berlin wall as my train will leave soon.

The rooms could have done with a little more facilities such as tea/coffee making facilities and a room safe would have been really useful for keeping documents such as passports safe.

As the hotel didn’t have a restaurant it would have been useful for a short guide of local eateries noting that the surrounding streets had nothing that could be found through walking/ the internet.

Overall a functional hotel for our needs

I stayed by myself and got a king size bed. For some reason they only gave me a single duvet for the bed. I would describe the room itself as a slightly upgraded Travelodge. The train was outside and very noisy. However the bathroom was very nice. I'd arrived late and the hotel didn't do room service at all. The surrounding area was a bit run down, as a lone traveller, this discouraged me from going out late at night

I am very happy with the hotel! First because I arrived very early for check out and they checked me in without a problem. That was a great surprise, as I was only expecting to leave my luggage there for a few hours. Besides, the hall is beautiful, the room is clean and comfortable, the staff is helpful, the breakfast looks great and it is affordable.

Good value but neighborhood lacks services

The staff were great, friendly and helpful. The room was small but generally okay. We would have appreciated more surfaces/desks/tables etc to spread out our stuff. When we first saw the room, we were dismayed to discover that the railroad tracks for S-bahn and intercity trains was more or less right outside our second story window, as we were worried about noise. However, the place was amazingly soundproof. You could barely hear the trains -- a good thing because they went by frequently.

The breakfast was expensive, so we didn't take advantage of it. Found a cafe about 150 m around the corner instead. However, in general, there are very few restaurants or other services in the area near the hotel. It's a pleasant enough residential neighborhood but very quiet. The closest SBahn station (Bellevue) is a ten to fifteen minute walk. On the other hand, it's only about twenty five minutes to the Hauptbahnhof (Central Station). We walked there with our luggage when we were leaving.

The personnel is very professional. However, in my opinion, the only problem with this hotel is the location. Even when I only spent one night , I was told by the front desk employee that there was only a Cambodian restaurant nearby that was opens in that area. It was around 9;30 pm Saturday night. According to what I saw, the area was isolated with almost no place to go to have some fun. There is a prison ( a real one ) located about three blocks from the hotel. Also, the access to this hotel was a little bit complicated by bus form the airport. Next morning when I took a taxi to going back to the airport, the driver charged me 18 euros, what I consider is a reasonable fare.

Has everything you need for a city breaki

Motel One is a chain of hotels in Germany, very similar to premier inn in Britain, except the rooms contain only what they think you need. Having said that, the room was very comfortable with everything we’d want from a city break. The price was good and the quality of breakfast is superb (€9.50 pp). The hotel is only a short walk from Bellevue S Bahn station and from the Tiergarten. We walked from the hotel to the Reichstag in 30 minutes. We’d definitely stay here again.

Budget hotel for the busy Professionals crowd

It’s not a bad place at all. If you are taking Taxis it Uber to get around, the location is acceptable as well. However, having a miniture breakfast buffet between the entrance door and the elevators and be expected to eat it on swivel chairs and no table (which might be ok for a drink at night), is a repeat killer for me. Price, service and cleanliness have no reason to complain about.

Basic comfortable clean Hotel. Excellent value for the price point. Good location within walking distance of the Spree, the Berlin hauptbahnhof, Aldi and Paris-Moskau restaurant. I highly recommend that restaurant although it can be pricey. I spent a total of three nights at this hotel and can recommend it.

A little disappointed

Having a 4.5 star rating I expected more for my money. There were no safety deposit boxes in rooms or facility @ reception. No hot drinks in rooms, everything cost extra. One of the reception was very helpful and friendly but others less so. Needed to share breakfast table with strangers as too few tables, and many tables piled up with dirty crockery. Good location, close to station and centre.

Good-ish location (About a 15 mins walk from Berlin Central station) but you are kinda stuck and have to get the train to get anywhere. A nice quiet area but can't sleep with the windows open due to the trains going by (They didn't affect me but can see it affecting people) Really enjoyed it here. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would happily stay here again.

Clean space, fab bed, clueless with hospitality

The staff need to learn more about hospitality. For example, when I needed extra pillows, the male staff member made me follow him in order to get them -- it was very inappropriate and awkward. Finally, when he was implying I needed to enter the guest room with him in order to take pillows from another room, I refused and stood waiting in the hallway. No reason for this to be done this way. I should've simply been waiting at the front desk (or he should've offered to have these delivered to my room). Additionally, the reason one is put in these strange situations to begin with is because there is no phone in the room! One must go to the desk for everything, and then once there, one is treated as a bother -- the opposite of hospitality. They NEED to reinstall phones, at least for reaching the desk. What about emergencies?! What if one's phone dies, or loses reception, or like me is an international guest with complicated dialing situations.... They need phones to reach the desk and outside emergency lines!!!

Great Motel One in nice location

The usual very high Motel One standard, so high it's easy to forget this is a budget chain. This particular location is very nice, right beside the Tiergarten and with a useful bus stop outside the door taking you to the centre in minutes, plus Bellevue S-Bahn station five minutes' walk away along the riverbank. Highly recommended.

Like any Motel One it is what it is. Same design and cleanliness one expects. The staff is business friendly but not more. Parking is underground and worth the price if you like your car. Breakfast is good and worth it. The location of the hotel makes it a very busy spot and I recommend having breakfast very early so you don't experience the frenzy we did. Both the Main train station and Bellevue S Bahn are within a ten minute walk. There is a nice boat tour company that starts close by as well on the other side of the ship restaurant by the Moabitbruecke.

Love MotelOne! Value, comfort, exactly as advertised. Breakfast was very good bur just a wee bit pricey. Staff was helpful but a little curt. Bellevue was an A- due to its poor connection to U, S and tram. (Bus outside the front door though. ) Train station was a hike with a suitcase. Be prepared to walk.

A nice hotel with basic amenities

We had a lovely time in Berlin and can't wait to go back. the city is fantastic. The hotel is about a 30 minute walk to Potsdamplatz through a beautiful park. the surrounding area isn't particularly beautiful on the Paulstrasse and there's a train line next door. The hotel is opposite a garage which is handy if you need snacks and drinks. The bar is open 24 hours a day but there's no room service. The staff are friendly and checking in and out was quick and efficient.

Nice hotel, room was big and light and very clean. Large bathroom.
There are maintenance works on the local bridge, so if you are arriving at the hotel by train yiu have about a 5-10 minute detour.
The breakfast was expensive and you have to sit in the reception area to eat this. There are plenty of cafe's near by that are much cheaper.
But overall this is a excellent value hotel

Great hotel, not so great location.

Room was great, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was also very good and the staff was pretty good as well. Only real problem I had was with the location. It is quite far from any attractions and also about 10 min walk from closest metro station. More than anything though, there is very little in terms of restaurants nearb . You are best off eating while out. If you wait tillmyou come back, you are out of luck.

We loved this hotel. The room was fantastic, new, clean, and modern. The breakfast, at €7.50 is great, and the location was nice. Easy to get anywhere by transit or on foot through the Tiergarten.

Good welcome to the hotel with a city map provided, didn't have any other contact with reception or hotel staff. Expensive breakfast! Big rooms, very clean and comfortable. Lovely reception area with a modern design. Just a 10 minute walk to the train station or 2 minutes from the S-bahn. However, it is not near any nice restaurants and only a small convenience store.

The only but is that you can hear everyone around you through the vents, down to a simple cough. Also its about a 5-8 minute walk to the S train, where you can transfer to the U. Breakfast was 7.50 euro/each at the hotel, so we opted to walk down the road about 100 feet to the cafe and got breakfast for 6 euro total. The Cambodian place is great, wasn't a fan of the italian place(both very close).

Clean modern hotel, quiet area close to Tiergarten

Really enjoyed my stay at Motel One Bellevue. Room was on the small side but that's standard for Europe. Great bathroom, comfortable beds and just enough storage space. Super quiet, peaceful area and Bellevue S-Bahn is a pleasant 5min walk away giving you easy access to Hauptbanhof and rest of city centre. Staff were friendly and helpful but not intrusive. Only downside was the breakfast. Food was tasty and fresh but you are essentially just eating in the lobby area so demand for space is high and it's not particularly comfortable arrangement. And the set up of the buffet area made getting food awkward at times and made it hard for staff to check if you'd actually paid for breakfast - system needs a rethink. However I happily paid 7 Euro both days for the quality of the food alone.

i had stayed at this hotel for business & found it to be very good, therefore booked it for \"leisure\" trip. location is excellent if you are happy to walk 5mins to the metro station. then you are only 1stop from Berlin central station & 2 or 3 from places of interest. service was very good as i had experienced before. have had worse service in FAR more expensive ***** hotels. breakfast excellent as usual. only \"negative comment\" i can think of is the lack of storage in the room. but as i was there for 1night it was not an issue. i will 100% book MotelOne again & reccomend it highly

The hotel was great! I spent an entire -very pleasant - day inside because of the cold, but also because there was no place to go. The neighborhood doesn't look like Berlin - or anything else. No charming coffee shops or any other shops. NO Christmas market or decorations. Could have been any place in the world and any time.

Pleasant stay in the center of Berlin

the only issue we had was internet. It was good when it was working. They introduced this user account activation where you need to get your password at the reception. The problem was that out account was locked several times without any particular reason. Otherwise very pleasant stay and I would recommend staying. Breakfast was basic but good with hot coffee and croissants, selection of cheese, boiled eggs, some meet, yogurts etc. No hot breakfast but this suited us fine.

Good value for money

We are a fit and active middle aged couple. We walked to the Brandenberg gate, Reichstag building and check point charlie, but took a taxi back as it was late.The hotel is modern, clean and with efficient and helpful staff. The breakfast was fresh and good value. There is clean and secure underground parking at the hotel, or on the street outside.

Modern, quiet hotel close to S-Bahn

Modern Hotel in a very good condition. I enjoyed my stay there. The staff were always very friendly/helpful. Nice quiet room (I had one overlooking the courtyard - the ones at the front by the rail line are probably noisier) with good air-conditioning (it was 35c during my stay). The breakfast was reasonable for €7.50. There isn't much in the immediate area but the top of the Tiergarten is very close by - you can walk to the Reichstag from the hotel if you wish. More importantly the Bellevue S-Bahn station is only a short walk away and the Hbf is only a slightly longer walk in the other direction so getting around is very easy. The area around the hotel seemed very safe even at night. I would stay in this hotel if I went to Berlin again.

very good for short stays

clean, modern, well-situated hotel with professional, helpful staff. The mattress and bedding was excellent. The rooms are very basic and compact, but very efficient and modern in their design. Ideal for a stay of one or two nights. Breakfast is high quality and an excellent value.
