It didn’t go the way I expected for the money I paid for luxury resort.
Omar at check in was least interested, no one welcomed us or offered welcome drink. Later I found that guests are given welcome gift bags which we never got.
The room was very basic, nothing like a luxury resort, not even 3 star.
We had to rush for dinner as we did late check in. Ideally the reception should have informed me themselves of dinner timing as it nearing 9pm.
Post dinner I figured the room is not what we booked. When I went to Omar to tell him that the room is neither superior nor pool facing, he smirked at me instead of feeling bad that I’ve to drag my senior citizen mother again. We again had to change rooms, it was still basic but at least pool facing.
I had to ask multiple times for slippers and bath robes.
At check out when I went to settle the bill for pool side food and drinks, I saw I was wrongly billed and had to spend 30 mins to get that sorted. They gave me 25% discount on the overcharged value but overall it was just 66egp less.
I think it is important for them to understand that if I’m paying so much I’m looking for wonderful hospitality not such pettiness.
I’ve traveled all over the world and got much more warmth in other places, this one was a sore experience. I would not recommend at all.
Food was basic too.

Only good thing was the resort is nice and clean.
I want to give a shout out to Diaa, our evening bar tender, he was very sweet and welcoming. Loved him.

Nice hotel but should of done my due dillegence ,nothing outside the hotel in the form of restaurants/ bars ,started out on bed & breakfast and then went to half board due to the above .The beaches either side of the hotel were like building sites and tried walking as far as we could go but were limited due to other hotels and security .
Its been many years since i visited Egypt and i forgot that it can feel very isolating stuck in just the hotel grounds, the Mariner in Hurghuda broke one of the days up and is worth a visit 15 min taxi ride .
Was mainly Russian German and french with a few brits.

initial thoughts when we arrived were the good. And greeted pleasantly. But it’s not a 4 star it’s more a 3 star hotel. Tired rooms in desperate need of refurbishment. inclusive option is not great either food is edible but that’s about it. We did eat outside the hotel the time we were there. We felt we had to leave the room by 12 Noon as the bell boy insisted he take our luggage and after 12 noon we would be charged for overstaying our welcome. won’t be going back unfortunately.

We were unhappy with Reef, but all other options were very satisfying. If you are a big fan of snorkeling - I suggest searching for another hotel. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation in the pool or on a calm beach - this is for you.

This was my second visit. Its a beautiful property and it would be 5 stars in my book if it had smart tvs and wifi in the rooms. Really annoyed about the wifi...and the wifi in the reception wasnt all that great either. The in room phones are also a bit ancient. View cant be beat though

This resort was beautiful and right on the Red Sea! The food options were great, and the chefs were always willing to take special requests for food. Pools were nice, rooms were very clean, and staff was incredibly helpful. Drinks were also very well made. One thing to note is wifi is only available in the main lobby area.

This Resort is amazing! The staff are friendly and very helpful and respectful. We've really enjoyed our vacation in the hotel. Starting from the moment we've arrived to the hotel, the service desk were very friendly and finished the paperwork in fees seconds, moving to the outstanding active housekeeping staff they are on top of cleaning every corner of the resort (rooms, pool, garden, and the beach). The food is great we've enjoyed different kids of food menus Mediterranean, Italian, and oriental, taste good and fresh. The animation team were amazing. Overall the resort is quiet, amazing and family and kids friendly. Thank you Mercure Hurghada Team. I will definitely come back again! Keep up the great work

The best vacation ever. Mercure staff always go above and beyond to make sure we are happy in our stay. The beach, the sea, the heated pool and the corals were amazing. Rooms are clean and the entire place is lovely. On the downside, the food is below average in terms of the taste and quality and the pool bar drinks and food are not good. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and we would defenitly come back.

Description of all inclusive plan and ultra inclus

It was my first time visiting Mercure hotels Hurghada I booked through Expedia hotels.com For my vacation which started in 17 July and ended at 23 July 2021. My reservation number through hotels 9188826272184 for all inclusive plan. This reservation costed me almost 700 $ . I checked in and was shocked with few matters that hotel management messed them up.
First my reservation was through Hotels.com and nothing mentioned about ultra inclusive plan and all what considered my right within the all inclusive plan are transfered to the ultra inclusive, water bottles, fresh juice and beer cans . Some items also are missed in the open buffee like seasonal fruits example watermelon, kiwi, Guava, pear ; only orange, cantaloupe & date no diversification of food type manipulation in hospitality policies by applying cutting cost policy and reduce the benefits from the major plan of all inclusive to add them to another created plan ultra inclusive ( then I have to pay for the items which are missed in the restaurant like watermelon good quality of juices or juice without sugar added as am not allowed by Dr instructions to drink juice with sugar add) which not mentioned in hotels policies . Am a type of customer who is travelling a lot and have pretty much ideas about hotels services. If we are dealing with Mercure hotel Hurghada as a part of economy chain and they can't offer generously and serve the high level class customer then they should get rewarded by equivalent money amount.

Music too loud. Asked manager to change room, he laughed. AC did't work, even after it was supposed to be repaired. Constant badgering from employees about massages. I was looking for peace and quiet....didn't find it. Can't recommend, especially for a solo traveler.

A big resort with very good all inclusive rates.

It was a big resort with many facilities. I liked the private beach most. All inclusive deal means you can have unlimited drinks including beer and wine. It was a very good experience to me. Will return again. The distance from the airport was good. The price was very reasonable. They have many activities during day time with many choices and free performance at night. Also good shopping mall. Only negative is there is no wifi at rooms, maybe because too wide the area is. Overall it was beyond my expectations.

We stayed here for three nights at the end of a week long tour throughout all of Egypt. We have enjoyed our stay here. It is very clean, with well maintained facilities and the staff are generally very friendly and helpful. The buffet/food is okay - seems to cater to a largely European crowd, I think it would be better to have Egyptian food. The wine on tap is gross. It tastes like iris coming through a dirty line. I suspect you could order a bottle somehow but didn’t bother to figure that out.We did most of our activities outside of the hotel with Sinai Excursions who I highly recommend as we didn’t see much of value going on within the hotel facilities. The pools are moderately heated as Harghada is very cold (relative to other latitudes) and windy in the winter (December/January) so I really don’t see the point of making this a destination at this time of year. The hotel itself is about 5-7 km out of the centre so be prepared to pay between 150 - 300 EP depending on your negotiating skills. This is A very touristic destination removed from the Egyptian culture and maginificant history, if that is what one was looking for or as part of a more comprehensive trip I would recommend a few nights in this facility to friends and family for sure.

Beautiful beach front hotel, very new rooms, and staff unfailingly kind and helpful. However, some stated amenities, like mini golf and archery range, are in disrepair and unusable. There's \"strict\" security in the front gate that did not allow our Uber driver to come through, while the hotel is bordered on both sides by two empty sand lots with no security in sight. Though overall we did not feel unsafe. The food is very average. The great staff makes this hotel a decent stay.

All inclusive package for Egyptians is different for other nationalities without mentioning that point in their page on hotels.com . Rude and unfriendly staff except Mr. Hamdy the F&B manager who understood the issue and tried to help. Main pool was under maintenance and will take 4 months to be ready. Queues are everywhere to eat or drink something. It is impossible to find place on the beach after 8 am; all the seats are reserved without any assistance from beach staff, we had to stay under the sun all the day. I just noticed at check out that there was an animation team!! Very poor shows at night. Check-in took 1 hour and half to find a room for us. At check out, we had to wait 45min at the lobby to have the luggage forwarded from the room although I had notified the reception 15 mins before I left the room. Food is avarage. Beach and other pool are good.

Excellent holiday hotel. The staff were excellent especially Ali Buffon in the shisha bar, he was extremely professional, friendly and polite. Hotel has many facilities to use for free. I would say that the massage prices are very high and we negotiated it down to £40 pounds for 50 minutes which is the same price here in the UK, and having experienced both massages UK massage is better considering they are the same price! I have been Egypt few times before and paid £20 for one hour massages which were better. Apart from this everything else is good.

We were expecting a four star hotel based on the Expedia booking rating and price for this property.

At check in we started to get concerned when we had to wear braclet tags to show we were guests for food etc.

Once we entered the bedroom we decided to check out again. No mini bar no room service and a really basic garish coloured room.

This is more of a motel than hotel and aimed at family market wouldn’t recommend for couples. For usd 7 more we checked into a 5 Star Sheraton and the difference was massive.

A disappointing experience.

Good hotel for a weeks get away

Lovely week long trip. Hotel is a bit shabby at the edges. Staff are what makes this place. They cannot do enough for you. Food is very repetitive if you eat in the buffet. Restaurant food is amazing. I went for the diving. I can't emphasise enough how good the guys at Chloes diving look after you. There are some issues with translation sometimes but the set up is so convenient. At the hotel. 100 m from the jetty with a great boat and crew. I would definitely recommend.

Enjoyed my stay here, a smaller complex than a previous hotel i had stayed in, in the region and others seen online. This meant it felt there was more of a personal touch in dealing with staff.
The room was clean and comfortable although the location of light switches was annoying.
Variety of food was limited. Being a vegetarian it was extremely frustrating that the food wasn't labelled properly. I know others had the same frustrations. I would have expected more from a global brand who seem to have a health conscious European clientele or for people who have dietary requirements.
And don't rely on the wifi - it sucks. Apparently a common problem all round.

as soon as you check in you are made to feel special, luggage delivered to your room and a tour of the hotel and facilities,one thing that is incorrect in the literature states wyfy in your room its only mainly in reception and then its hit and miss, there is a good dive company on site, heated pool, being not many English are using this hotel the food is more continental and Egyptian but no need to go hungry as food is plentifull and the cakes are fantastic and plenty of fresh fruit the staff everywhere can not be faulted there are five different restaurants but only two operate in the winter months this is not stated in adverts sun beds every where are plentifull and seating outside and in bars very good

One of the nice hotels, but my experience was severely damaged by an aggressive diving center seller, who was hustling me from the minute I went to the pool and later even on the beach. I asked him repeatedly to let me in peace, but he came again in 5 minutes. He ignored my refusals. I wanted to stay in this hotel for 2 weeks, but after this experience I canceled my plans and went to another hotel in El Gouna. What a difference. The management should take action and talk to the diving center seller and other sellers. I am not the first one who complains about it. Just check other reviews on TA.

The Mercure resort ticks all the boxes for us. The staff are very attentive, the food is good and varied and the rooms are comfortable. The resort was running at full capacity during our stay but the staff coped well and there was always a bed by the pool or on the beach. My daughter particularly enjoyed her sessions at the kids club. We will always stay at the Mercure when visiting Hurghada.

Hounded by sales staff

After staying in multiple Mercure hotels in Cairo, Aswan and Luxor, I was disappointment by the barrage of sales people hounding me at the Mercure in Hurghada. After two weeks exploring Egypt, I was ready to relax by the beautiful pool. Alas, there was rarely a peaceful moment as I was approached by the following people trying to sell me something: Fun Fly (for a snorkeling excursion), the Beauty Salon for manicures/pedicures, the Spa for various treatments, a gal selling professional photography, the team selling horse and camel rides - and, we couldn't walk to the beach without being pounced on by the guy selling sand bottles. I understand tourism is low and these people are trying to make a living. However, they were extremely aggressive and approached me multiple times after I had said no. Also, all prices are negotiable - this reminded me of that commercial \"What if you had to buy everything the way you buy a used car\". They even haggled over the price of Halawa. This absolutely impacted the peace and tranquility of an all inclusive resort stay.

This was our second visit to the Mercure in Hurghada, the staff as always were very welcoming and quite a few recognised us from our visit 18 months ago, especially Marley and Chloe who met us in reception!
As always the food was very good with a great choice every night, the weather was amazing and the room was clean and spacious.
we would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be going back again.

I knew the Hotel before from the time it was called Sofitel! I was there from 1997 to 2005 every year 2-3 months working as a dive master! It's the best, so many peaple told me about others that weren't so good, especially beacause of the food, diarrea problems and so on. Good, varieting food, profetional animation-team, owne marina, owne dive centre, not to big- perfect! For divers and families and couples!

Perfect to enjoy the sea and sun.

Stayed there for ten days alone, because of my business trip to Cairo. Very friendly personnel and nice sea view from the room. Very pleasant stay, enjoyed volleyball, snorkeling and food. Would come there next time.

Everyone was wonderful and kind. The service was excellent, and the staff were professional and friendly.

The reception staff, restaurant staff, snack hut attendants, pool supervisors, and housekeeping team were all very kind and worked diligently, always making sure everything was exactly as we wanted. The hotel taxi service was also great.

All the services and staff at the hotel were respectful, friendly, and carried out their work with great professionalism.

The rooms were clean, and the food was varied and good.

It was a wonderful week for me and my family.

Debite premesse: siamo stati nel giro di 10 notti in 5 Resort diversi, questo per differenziare nella location, nel cibo e nel confort offerto! Di qui il 1mo consiglio: differenziare! Bene devo dire che tutte le strutture sono risultate valide, non vi e' dunque un \"vincitore\" in assoluto ma semplici dettagli, a volte centrati a volte meno! Veniamo alla struttura in questione: il Mercure, la 1ma del ns viaggio a Hurghada! Gran bella location, cibo di 1ma qualità, la camera pur se datata e' risultata comoda ed ha un buon rapporto qualità/prezzo!Certamente consiglio in ispecie se si prende una buona offerta!Un Grazie a tutto lo staff! Nel cuore portiamo il sorriso dei camerieri! Certo la mancia è dovuta ✈️🤗

Hotel calme, bien entretenu. Prix convenable. Personnel tres agréable !
Une piscine chauffée. Plage privée propre. Large choix au buffet, je n'ai pas eu la tourista :)
Manque à mon gout un peu d'animation le soir.
