1. Woke up with no electric in the room. Reported no effort to fix. Needed phone torch to see round

2. Unexpected parking charge, not advertised,it is at a service station. Went for breakfast and huge TV advert, that advertised free parking. Complain and was just dismissed

3. Hardly any electric vehicle chargers were working

4. Other guests, a domestic arguments happened throughout the night from more than one set of guests

5. Paid for two breakfast but given one voucher for child, despite paid an adult price

I didn’t enjoy my stay
Partly through Expedia , partly through Ramada and partly through other guests

Expedia . You pay for a room on a motorway services , when you get there Ramada charge extra for parking , but how else can you get there ?
No where in Expedia does it say it’s extra ( and if I’d paid Ramada direct it is included)
This is very poor almost scheming and completely misleading , I had to pay but the receptionist wouldn’t give me a receipt

The room
The television keeps pixelating ,
the bathroom outer handle broken
The bathroom inner handle broken
Left hand windows handle broken
Open the right hand window there’s rubbish on the grass including empty viagra tablets

The hotel has no control of the guests , people were running around in the hotel and the lift was going all night

This is a Ramada hotel , a chain that should have strong corporate values unfortunately it was more like a Brittania hotel

The room was in good condition, the staff were friendly, however the window was extremely bad at letting noise in. Room 24, overlooking the reception door wasn't great, but the 5.15am wake up call with the hoover at reception dropped the overall score, and guest experience, to 3/5.
Shower was great, overall experience was tainted due to the unexpected wake up call. Couldn't get back to sleep.

No one at reception, no idea how long they would take to come out, no one was around,
I only checked in for few hours to relax, didn’t want to be standing at reception.

Last time I stayed there parking was free, no where It mention parking fee.
And the staff member said cash only and charged £5 cash.

Booked a room for 2 adults, only 1 set of towels

Tv not working

Both above I could get a receptionist to address the issue as no one was there.

Few hours later, whilst checking out, no one there again, just left my hotel card at the desk.

Should attest have a bell for customers to notify the staff someone is there waiting.

It’s a nice place to stay and a good value for money. The staff are very nice and helpful. My only challenge was that I stayed here for almost a week without a car; It’s a highway service area (rest stop) and so it’s ideal for people who’re passing through and planning to stay for a night or two. Since I did not have a personal car, getting to train lines was quite pricy, especially since I had to do it everyday. Otherwise I’ll say it’s a nice place to stay for a decent price.

The drain in the shower was blocked as the shower tray flooded the grouting on the floor was non existent the place is run down the staff told us disabled car park was free then another member of staff told us it wasn’t and that I would get a parking charge however if I emailed them they would sort it!! I shouldn’t have been told incorrectly in the first place. If you book direct the parking is free! I won’t be returning again!

Don’t forget your valuables when you check out!

I’ve stayed at this Ramada a lot; probably more than 100 times, because it’s basic but clean and comfortable. However my last trip was after a full day of international travel to grab a few hours sleep before continuing.
I left my iPad in the room - my fault - and I didn’t realise for 4 days when I went to unpack. I emailed the hotel, no response. When I called the next day - I was told “I was just emailing you back” and that my iPad was there BUT the hotel knew which room the iPad was left in and had all my contact details and made no effort to contact me at all, which is technically ‘theft by finding’ and although I now have it back - it just leaves a bitter taste in my mouth and feels very dishonest on the hotel staff’s part. I feel like if I hadn’t gotten in touch, they wouldn’t have either despite knowing the iPad belonged to me, so I can’t help but wonder where it would’ve ended up?

This hotel is in a good location with shops, cafes and restaurants nearby. It is a great value for money. The rooms are spacious and it was great to have iron, fan and hairdryer in the room. If there was aircon I would give it 5 stars in all areas. However it won't refrain me from returning. I will come back again.

The room we were first shown to smelled of cigarettes but we were able to change rooms. A used bath towel from the previous guests was still hanging in the bathroom and there was only one set of towels provided. This was swiftly remedied. The lift was out of order. The hotel does look a little tired.

I stayed for just one night on a work visit near the hotel. Was told, after I checked in, that they had an issue with the water temp and the water would just be warm. I arrived late so went straight to bed. When I needed to take a shower the next morning I came to find the water was in fact freezing cold. As you can imagine making it incredibly difficult to wash. After asking the front desk they had no fix for me at all, so continued my freezing cold shower to get ready for work. On checkout, I asked the front deck for some sort of compensation for this and was met with a no. Not good.

When I got out of the shower and sat on the edge of the bed a piece of spring or something metal came through the mattress and stabbed me in the back of the leg. It’s definitely not a recent defect to the mattress.

I was forced to book a hotel extremely quickly due to a broken pipe issue at my home. I don't live far from this hotel and it was quite cheap and now i know why! There is no grout in the tiles in the shower or bathroom floor, the mattress looks like a horror movie. I would avoid this place as it is not clean. I even brought my own hoover to vacuum the bedroom floor!!

Better sleep in your car.

Absolutely disgusting experience. This place should be shut down and fumigated. The room was filthy, dust everywhere, carpets stained like they’ve never been cleaned, and a stench that hit me the second I walked in. It smelled like damp mold mixed with old sweat. The bathroom was a nightmare, with grime all over and a shower floor that looked like it hadn’t been scrubbed in weeks.

The lift felt like stepping into a cramped shoebox. Honestly, I was scared it might get stuck.

And the staff? Rude, dismissive, and completely uninterested in helping. When I asked to switch rooms because of the smell, the receptionist acted like I was the problem. Zero customer service.

The only reason this place is still in business is because it’s at a motorway service station and people are too tired to argue. Do yourself a favour, sleep in your car. It’d be cleaner and far less stressful.

Just an overnight stay for work and I must say I was impressed. Despite it's proximity to the M25 it was pretty peaceful. Room and bathroom functional and clean. Being in a service station there's everything you need, car charging, food outlets, fuel. So, all it all, nothing swanky but very comfortable.

The room when we got int here smelt like some a poo had been left in there, with the extractor in the smell didn’t go away.

There are chips int he bathroom floor that had we had a little child could have hurt themselves.

There was no grout in between the floor tiles a crack along the unit behind the toilet.

It was also not the cleanest water marks on the toilet seat and behind the sink.

One of the plug sockets didn’t work, one of the bedside lights didn’t work and there was condensation on the windows.

Had to pay additional fees to park on arrival which I wasnt aware of. Apparently if you book direct they waive this fee so hotels.com are also being naughty here but I dont like these sort of tactics.
Also breakfast on site is 8.99 pp. Hotels.com charged 10.00 so again very annoyed. And to top this you have to eat in the services next door. Food was not worth the money.
The room was tired. Bathroom white goods broke and repaired with staining around the room. Windows ill fitting and generally run down.
It served a purpose but i dont know who to blame more the hotel or hotels.com for mis information.

When I made the purchase I searched for properties with free car parking. When I arrived I had to pay an additional £5 per night which I was not expecting. All our room garbage cans were full in our 2nd day, so we asked the front desk to have our room clean. We got back around 7:00 pm and the garbage cans were still full. The cleaners just dropped off new towels in the room. I overheard another customer complaining about dirty room during our check in.

All staff in this hotel are very lazy and does not seem to care about customers.
