Stayed here previously and the room service was delicious, restaurant quality. Unfortunately on this occasion it wasn’t the same, our noodles were served on top of a very watery sauce, not as described and not the nicest tasting. Woken up by cleaners having a gossip for around 20 minutes outside of our room at 8am. The rooms are dated, the sink was stained, we were given ripped bed sheets, but otherwise clean. At least the electric charge point worked well.

Disappointing for a family stay

The reception staff were lovely, and the service was great over all however we booked a family room and the room wasn’t made up on arrival. When we pulled the sofa bed out you could literally feel the springs on touch. When the kids split on it, they had to shift across the bed to avoid the springs.
We stayed regardless and all went well until we had a shower and the shower fell off the wall. Very disappointing considering the Stella reviews.

Use this hotel as another pit-stop on our trip back to the UK. Right next door to the IBIS, but thought we would stay here instead on our last night in France.

Excellent value for money and very good restaurant, which we have used a number of times on other trips – but why have they changed the beer from 1664 to Heineken?

Great location, excellent breakfast, excellent staff, what more could you want?

Third time staying here as overnight stop driving to or from Spain. Hotel is conveniently located for the Motorway, and is easy to find. This hotel never disappoints! Hotel is spacious, bedroom and bathroom both spacious & spotless, staff friendly, and restaurant really very good. Full Marks!

Fine if you like the smell of cigarette

The reception at the hotel was great. We were given a room that had a strong smell cigarette. We complained and got another room that was equally as bad. There were cigarette holes in the carpet!! The stairwell was full of laundry trolleys and other maintenance items. The hotel is in serious need of refurbishment. The staff was great and restaurant food excellent.

I have stayed in a fair few hotels in my time but this has to be the worst experience of them all.
I have never met a ruder/useless set of staff. Firstly there was an issue with our booking, they were unable to find both our rooms. We booked a taxi for our friend's wedding the next day and on the day of the wedding, they told us the taxi is not coming. This was told to us when the taxi was already 15mins late! The hotel staff also pushed the taxi card into our hands and said there was nothing they can do to help...not impressed.
There are also flies and bees around the whole hotel.

We liked this property, we only stayed one night. It was very clean, staff was nice and did their job. Hand sanitizer was available everywhere. Parking in front of the hotel for free. The shower was spacious and clean. Cosy bedroom.

Things that were not great:
- French toilet, you cannot wash your hands if the shower room is used by someone else.
- breakfast service to bedroom: arrived on time. Limited amount of fruit, cold croissant and watery coffee.

Overall good for a short and a longer stay, but I I wouldn't order breakfast

Good hotel with good location, if you drive. Quiet and easily accessible from the main highways. A few restaurants around and a massive Auchan very close which is very handy.
They have a good observation of the new social distancing rules and we felt safe all the time.
Don't go for the swimming pool.

The food was very good. breakfast expensive but fresh variety service very good. Pool shallow end is too deep for most people.
I shall NOT stay in Mercure Nord for one reason. There were so many dogs around. It looked like a dog park. Do the dogs sleep on the bed with their owners? Do I, the next hotel guest have to sleep in a bed that a dog had previously used? I do not like to share beds with other people's dogs. In addition dogs were in the dining room. This is generally considered an unhygienic practice. Pet friendly hotels should house dogs and other animals in a separate area. Besides what is considered a \"pet\" maybe a dangerous species .by Please review your \"pets allowed policy\"

Nice hotel with plenty of parking. We used this as an overnight stop. It was easy to find from the motorway. The food was good and the staff friendly and helpful. The hotel is close to the commercial zone - lots of shops. Useful for topping up with fuel at supermarket prices.

Wrong Room, should never be rented!

We had booked a King size bed. It was Queen. Room # 340, corner room, next to old laundry closet, entry had a huge shoe-polish machine. Toilet door hit you, when closing it. The smallest cloth-hanging facility. Wifi connection not reliable. Last night stay there was a banging noise in the back-ground. In the morning surrounded by laundry carts.

Tours,not far from the centre of France,offers exciting sightseeing opportunities and also can be used as a staging post for an overnight stay .We drove up from the south of France and spent the night en route to Cherbourg.The swimming pool was most welcome after a long drive as was the spacious accommodation.

The room was not ready as 1pm as expected (early check in). No child and baby beds ready.
The carpet in the corridors very dirty!
Super disappointing breakfast ; nothing available, had to chase for everything and waited 10-15 minutes to get it when in stock! Definitely not up to the standards of Mercure hotels.
The gate of the pool, ok secured for kids, but super stiff so almost impossible to open it.
So in two words: never again.

Great hotel, rooms were spacious and well equipped. Pool was disappointing (we have young kids and pool was freezing, dirty and deep. Area around pool could also benefit from redecoration). A little too far from centre of Tours (which is a must see!!).
The staff here are fantastic; very helpful, friendly and attentive.

On the whole very pleased with our stay. The staff we engaged with were very pleasant & helpful, also spoke english although I did try my poor french.
Location for us was ideal as close to the A28 on our trip from the south travelling to Calais.
Room more spacious than we expected, clean & comfortable.
Bed was very comfortable but pillow type not to our liking, larger ones required also having a top sheet as duvet too warm for us.
Disappointed with tea/coffee supplies... no breakfast tea & insufficient amounts of milk/cream pots. Excellent meal in the restaurant.. food prices reasonable priced. Drinks expensive as always in hotels.
I know breakfast was extra but quite expensive at over €30 for 2 of us for a coffee & a croissant each, appreciate we could eat as much as we wanted but we didn’t want to take food we couldnt eat.
Price of stay at hotel very reasonable & even better using our Tesco clubcard vouchers.
Will use hotel again and recommend it. I can’t comment on the area as we didn’t explore but hotel is located with in a busy industrial estate area near the local airport.

Ideal for an overnight stay on our way back to the uk. The room was good, with coffee and tea facilities which is unusual for france. The AC wasn’t particularly effective and the room was very hot, but it had been exceptionally humid and hot for some time in france which probably hadn’t helped. Ate dinner in the restaurant outside which was nice and breakfast was good too. Not too much in the area as it is in an industrial zone, but that didn’t bother us. Overall it was an enjoyable stay, and I would stay again. Also travelled with a dog who was welcome wherever we went.

We parked and checked in very efficiently. On entering the room were please that it was very spacious. Unfortunately the duvet cover was wet in places and stained. The receptionist attended, apologised and changed the cover. We had a satisfactory meal and a good night's sleep. The breakfast, which we'd prepaid, was appalling. Limited choice and very poor quality. Lack of staff to help until I found someone who replenished the croissants.
Late checkout was convenient.

My family and I recently stayed at the Hotel Mercure Tour Nord as a stop-off while travelling through France. It is conveniently located near major motorways and is a relaxed, comfortable and welcoming hotel. Note that it is outside of the centre of tours - which is approx 15 min drive from the hotel - so not ideal if you intend to pop into town by foot. As a result we didn't get to see much of Tours. However as a stop-off while travelling from Cherbourg to the Ardeche it was perfectly good, and we spotted others using it as a layover spot while we were there.

We chose this hotel at the last minute since we change our itinerary. It was rated as a four start hotel.
The lobby is beautiful . The room we were given was 420 at the last of a very long hallway. There was no shampoo, no conditioner, no cream. There was a towel hanger for a couple of towels. I truly believe this to be a hotel for tour buses who bring a lot of people to spend the evening and leave early in the morning. There is no place around to eat, therefore you are obligated to eat the hotel. The center of the city is more than 15 minutes away. I would not recommend the hotel.
There was nobody at the desk when we came in. I had to wait for a young lady to come and she was not friendly. The young man, who checked us out was very nice.
Recommend only if you are travelling through Tours and not interested in seeing the city itself..

We used the Mercure Tours Nord as a stop-off on our way to the Channel Tunnel. We just needed a room for an adult and 3 children and didn't do any local sightseeing. The hotel was clean and well-maintained, and the beds were very comfortable and welcome after a long day of driving! The shower was excellent and the staff were very friendly and communicative.

The price for this quality of room and breakfast was amazing and we left as a very happy family.

Major issue is swimming pool is not heated so only usable on the hottest days. The blurb should state this. If you are mainly interested in the pool maybe look at alternatives.

Arrived late after 10 hour drive. Friendly welcome, excellent spacious, comfortable room for 2 adults 2 children, great shower. We were in the restaurant with 15 minutes left to end of service and although the food was good(nuggets/chips,steak hache/chips for the children and 2 cold buffet meals), the service was appalling. No one seemed to want to serve us and we had to wait for ages for drinks, even water, no one cleared our plates and although our girls were charged for a child menu each, no one ever came to ask what they wanted for desert, no one offered coffee or asked how our meal was. We were tired and hungry but were left ignored for ages. Eventually a man in a suit cleared mine and my husband's plate but left my children staring at their finished plates without refering to their non existent desert. When it was obvious that no one was interested in our wellbeing we decided to leave the restaurant and go to bed. It was an awful and shocking end to our otherwise wonderful French holiday. Certainly not 4 star service. Breakfast was good and the pool was enjoyed before we left but I found paying 85 euros for the evening meal a sickening experience and although I would happily stay in a mercure hotel again for comfort, decor and convenience, it will not be Tours Nord due entirely to the profound lack of respect and unprofessional treatment shown myself and my family by the waiting team. Shame.

Stayed at the Mercure for one night whilst travelling through the Loire Valley. The price of the room was more expensive than other local hotels, but did offer more facilities. The pool is small but nice. Rooms a good size and very clean. The restaurant had an expensive feel but limited menu. Drinks from the bar were very expensive, as was breakfast. Overall we ended up spending an extra £130 on food and drink just for a one night stay. Not neccesarily horrendous as the hotel is at the upper end, but all the same food expensive for such a limited menu.

Modern hotel with spacious rooms & good food

We spent 2 nights at the hotel & were impressed with the comfort of the beds & the quality of the food at both breakfast & dinner. The premium sports channel on which I could watch the Manchester football derby & the US Masters golf was an unexpected bonus. The staff were friendly & helpful. When my wife accidently left her bag in the restaurant, one of the waiting staff raced after us to return it.

Stay overnight on the way down and back from the south of France. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed - probably recently refurbished. The bathroom was modern and clean with a fabulous shower. the door separating the bathroom/toilet and the bedroom is a nice touch that not everywhere has and means I didn't have to disturb my husband/ children to use the bathroom.. Wi-Fi easy to use and a good choice at breakfast

We stayed with our one year old son and the hotel staff quickly found a cot when it seemed our request had not been received with our Expedia booking. We used the hotel restaurant and really enjoyed the Plat du Jour. the restataurant staff were very helpful with our baby too, warming his meal etc. Room was clean and comfortable.

Clean and with everything you need

Hotel was as expected with good facilities, lovely pool, helpful staff and a fairly lovely bar. Only complaint is the rooms are a little small but based on price it is really what we paid for.

Tours was absolutely beautiful and we were glad we took the receptionists advice to visit it - we were only there for one day but was well worth the trip into town.

Contemporary Hotel

From the moment that we reached the car park of the hotel Mercure at Tours until we left after an over-night stay with friends/family it was a pleasant experience. Private car park directly infront of hotel, pleasant and efficient staff at reception, fast check-in, lifts adjacent, room up to home standards, windows could even be opened. Swimming pool clean, convenient and sufficient chairs/umbrellas. We eat out at a local steak house as large eaters in our group, so cost-effective and excellent. Had drinks, not cheap but in comfortable surroundings, back at hotel during and end of the day. Friendly and efficient service. Nuts etc to nibble were placed on table with our drinks. Near to airport but not exactly hearing planes. Check-out was efficient. Would certainly use this hotel in future. Travelled on to Dordogne for our hols. One group of our party booked to return a day early to get Caen etc sight-seeing and booked MERCURE hotel chain at Caen - they said, again excellent.

Some good, some not so good

Family of 4. Location isn't good for visiting as it is far, but just off the highway so pretty good for a 1-day stop. Excellent breakfast, clean rooms, restaurant for diner was a disaster with bad service, bad food, and expensive so I would recommend a diner out.

Great place to stopover

We picked the Mercure Tours Nord due to its location as we wanted a suitable place to break the journey from Carcasonne to the Normandy coast. The hotel was ideal as it provided a secure car park and a family room for four. It proved to be good and we had no problem with check-in and staff spoke good English to deal with my poor French. if you don't want to use the hotel restaurant there are plenty of fast food and other restaurants about 3 minutes drive away. The family room is adequately sized with a double bed that folds out from the sofa, according to our nine your old daughter it was \"awesome\" when asked if it had been comfortable. Only down side to the main bed was the lack of firm pillows and there weren't any spares in the room, just a minor thing that if we'd asked I'm sure would have been rectified as the staff seemed very helpful. The room also benefited from separate en-suite toilet and shower rooms making life simpler as a family, both of which were modern and attractively decorated. Breakfast was a buffet that provided a decent selection of choices with basics of eggs, sausage and bacon, plus assorted cold meats, cereals etc. as it was included as part of our booking price it seemed good value but I don't think we would have paid much extra for it. Altogether we were very pleased with our brief stay and would certainly stay there again.

Great three start

For a three start, it was wonderful. Loved the room, comfy, nice size, good bedding, good amenities. Very good breakfast, great staff, helpful people. Went out of their way to find ice for us at the bar.

NOT 4 star Hotel

Only pricing in this hotel match 4 star rating, everything else - service, comfort, food quality is 3 star and below. Upon arrival we were informed they can't honor our reservation,for a reason no rooms available, and that's why we should go all the way across the city and check into different Mercure hotel. They offered us a small jar of fruit jam for an apology ! Cheap looking furniture and bath. Do not recommend .
