Would definitely stay here again

Great location. It's only a couple of minutes walk away from the train station, which can be used to easily explore the Loire region. The hotel is comfortable. The rooms are light and airy and the showers are amazing.

Good hotel which I've used many times in the past. Centrally located near the train station with the centre of Tours being walkable in 20 minutes or so. Room was clean, as was bathroom. A/C worked and the wifi was sufficiently fast. I didn't take breakfast as I needed to leave early. Underground car park was cheap at 11/eur per night. However, its a bit tight if you have a big car.

We had a reservation added onto the tour we were taking so we stayed two nights, the staff were great accommodating us with no confusion. The hotel was walking distance from the station and numerous restaurants. It was easy to access the routes we had to get to for our tour (in Tours)

The location is convenient for coming in by train as it's very close to the train station. It's also very walkable to nearby restaurants and shops. The staff were friendly and professional. There was a confusion at check out where they asked me to pay taxes that I was already asked to pay at check-in but when I showed him the charge on my credit card account he allowed me to not pay it even though his system did not show it was paid. They also informed me directly after check-out that I had left some jewelry there and offered to ship it to me. I was then immediately contacted by a contracted company they use for shipping to set it up and only had to pay around $40 for 2 day shipping. Overall, the room was spacious for European standards and very well designed. We enjoyed our 2 night stay here.

Hotel recommended especially due to location

Three day trip to Tours, France. Hotel is very close to the main train station and easily walkable to all of the main attractions and shopping. Breakfast was good with plenty of options and self-service everything. Check in guy was a little brusque but everyone else was friendly and helpful.

We had a very comfortable stay at the Artiste hotel. The cleaners were incredibly thorough and cleaned the room every day as if spring cleaned. Disappointed there was no dining or even lunch option, but the bar is always serviced by desk personnel and breakfast buffet was extensive. Everyone was so pleasant and helpful and language was never an issue.

Ok for a 1 night stop

Very welcoming and helpful on check in. Our French is not very good but between us and the receptionist we managed to understand each other's Franglais. Nice breakfast spread with plenty to chose from. Car parking was €10 in the underground car park opposite the hotel, so convenient enough. Unfortunately one of the radiators in our room cannot be turned off so I had to open the window to cool the room down a bit before sleeping and again in the morning. The bed was also rather uncomfortable - a bit lumpy - so not the best night's sleep.

We literally slept here but room was clean and bright with nice bath/shower and lots of hot water. It had tea coffee kettle wardrobe with hanging, a hairdryer and comfy bed with ok pillows. Close to town centre. Only negative was Parking but that cost us €10 and the entrance exit was veryvery tight our door handles literally rubbing on the curve of wall to exit. We didnt have breakfast as up and away early but it sounded adequate €11 for a typical continental breakfast

Exactly want you would want in Tours

Going to hospital in Tours for an operation. Not good times but would always recommend this hotel, it is surprising in that there are more facilities than you would imagine. Remember that most small and medium hotels in France are horrible, cheap and nasty.

The staff were excellent as we have found on previous stays at this hotel. The room was just fine the location also just fine, walkable to the city centre shops and all.

When in Tours we will always stay there and recommend others do so as well. You will be very pleased.

Friendly, welcoming reception staff. The hotel is really a hidden gem, located off the main tourist area, but only a couple of minutes from everything. On site parking was a bonus, and reasonably priced, but strictly for smaller cars!
Breakfast was excellent and we felt good value.

We thought the property was very clean and the staff were very friendly. The parking facilities weren’t very good as the car park was full when we arrived and there was nowhere to park and leave our car on the street after 9am so in the end we used a public long stay car park in the centre. The air conditioning in the room was very good.

This is a nice little hotel off the main streets so it is quite. The rooms were spacious, but I didn’t like the wall to wall carpeting. Also, the vent over the shower in the bathroom was really dirty...other than that it was good.

Perfect hotel by station, convinient

Small room but surprisingly comfortable and had all amenities (tea/coffee, great hairdryer, safe, desk, air conditioning), bathtub in bathroom, organic bath products.
Staff was also very friendly and helpful. It is Ideal to stay in the center of Tours.

Give restaurant a miss

Room comfortable. Pool nice but towels not provided, you need to use your room towel. Restaurant service really poor and standard of dinner for a 4 star hotel was really bad. Restaurant staff didn’t speak any English or understand my poor French so unless you are fluent you will struggle. Overall I would say give the restaurant a miss and eat in the nearby town square which is lovely. Breakfast ok.

No AC and no compensation

The front desk acted rather indifferent to our needs. Later we felt ignored. Our air conditioning wasn’t working and it was very hot! We told them and they’d come in and play with it a bit and leave. No results. Finally after a few days, they sent technicians and it worked for a few hours and quit again in the middle of the night. We had to open our windows but that didn’t bring much relief. Upon checkout I asked if they could at least Comp us our breakfast but the manager said she’d have to speak to her big boss in Nantes. I doubt if she ever did. She didn’t seem to care and didn’t apologize for our discomfort.

Didn’t Live up to Expectations

We moved rooms after the first night as the air con wasn’t working. Unfortunately the hotel did not match the description on the web. The verandah was small and unusable in the afternoon as in direct sunlight. The air con generally was inadequate. There were numerous small irritations - no soap or shampoo in the shower dispenser, no replacement coffee capsules provided, teabags provided with a Nespresso machine, no map of Tours when we arrived - we were told it was a small place so easy to find our way round. The hotel is near the station so maybe an overnight for business but think you would be able to get better value st a different two or three star.

Winter trip to see the castles.

Perfectly located near the train station yet very quiet and clean. The staff was helpful and welcoming as we rolled in with our wet clothes and bags. Krups style coffee maker in the room for a nice cup of decaf to warm up. They have 24 hour services if you want a snack or head out to the nearby cafes. We went on a castles tour the following day and were able to leave our luggage and walk right to the tourist information office where the tour began. Rooms are themed and nicely appointed. I would definitely stay here again.

Staff was most unhelpful and unfriendly. Had to argue with them to receive amenities promised at time of booking, and never ended up receiving them. At end of trip staff charged us for the room despite pre-paying and finally refunded after we showed all our documentation-no apology for inconvenience. Would not recommend this hotel solely based on poor service.

I cant emphasize enough how much I liked this hotel! We had a wonderful two nights here. Bed is extremely comfortable, bathroom and shower are large and extremely clean. Steps away from the train station, was perfect for visiting the chateaux. Had excellent room service, breakfast was delicious and plentiful, staff were all super kind and welcoming, and the decor is so cute! Loved walking out to a picture of Brad Pitt every morning. Would highly recommend :)

We have a wonderful experience in Tours and the Loire Valley. Everyone we met there were very friendly and helpful in answering our question and giving direction to restaurant., museums and churches. The Office of Tourism were outstanding in presenting tours to chateaux and vineyards.

Picked this for its proximity to the train station and was pleasantly surprised. Very inexpensive and great value. Room was a decent size and an easy walk to good restaurants and bars. We also walked to the old part of the city which was maybe 20-25 minutes. The receptionist was very friendly and knowledgable. Breakfast was pretty good.

Renovations on the hotel were not disclosed when booking. Hotel hard to find because the sign and hotel were covered in scaffolding. Awoken 7-00 in the morning with scaffolding being dismantled in one part of the hotel and erected outside our window, workmen outside our window with high impact drill fixing bolts to the walls. The manager did not give a sh-t about it. Not soap in the dispenser for three days.

We only stayed for one night and I wish we could have stayed longer. Melissa was very helpful upon check in and provided us with a map and lots of good recommendations. Our room (27) was beautiful! Two bedrooms, two bathrooms and two sitting rooms and beautifully appointed. There is no air conditioning but they provided fans and that helped at night. The location is a few minute walk to the market and is right off a lovely street filled with shops. The continental breakfast was just right. We took a taxi to and from the train station and it took about 10 mins. Would definitely stay here again!

Decent hotel, but very hard to find.

Got this hotel last minute. Was very hard to find on a maze of winding one way streets. The hotel had parking, but it was full so we had to drive around to find street parking which is limited. Front desk staff was very helpful but the hotel price was not commensurate with the facilities.

Boutique hotel experience close to station

This is an excellent hotel that is tastefully decorated using movie stars as a theme. The rooms are ample in size with a good range of tv channels. There is a lift which is not always the case for many hotels. It is close to tbe railway station and trams to give substantial flexibility in getting around town.
