The hotel is conveniently located close to the train station and the tourist office which all the tours depart from. Lots of restaurants, cafes are closeby. The hotel lobby is the attraction point. The rooms are very spacios as well. A few let down for us were lack of a fridge in the room, no china cups ( paper cups and wooden stirrers only provided).

A great lobby, especially the high ceiling, pool and piano, and great location, near train station, huge city pool, park and restaurants. We had 2 rooms for 2 couples. Wonderful showers. One room though, was better than the other, yet they came at the same price. The better one had nice views and was spacious. The lesser one was smaller, had 1 window instead of 2, and had slanted beams that you had be aware of or risk hitting your head. Also, odd that there was 1 chair in the rooms instead of 2.

Excellent hotel in Tours with an ideal location, mins walking to the train station and the center if the old town. There are tons of restaurants and shops nearby. The room and is spacious and well equipped. The shower room and toilet are seperated. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

This is a great place to stay when in Tours. The service was outstanding. The room was large and very comfortable. Breakfast was full of good choices. Finally, the location was the best. It is less than a five minute walk from the train station and less than a 20 minute walk to the old town and the area with the best restaurants. I would absolutely stay there again when in Tours.

Perfect and central location to restaurants and next to tourist office. Also train station 2 minute walk. Hotel clean with access to spa facilities. Room spacious clean although some wear and tear visible. It did not have mini fridge which was a bit disappointing. View from the window was the back of the property facing some mechanical fans air conditioning units and terraces and rooftops. I was told all rooms are like that. However minimal time in a room so no big issue here.

This hotel was advertised as 4 stars but that wasn’t our experience here during our 2 night stay. The room was very large and quiet, however the amenities were lacking. The room only had paper cups, no glass for your nightstand or in the bathrooms, no wash cloths for the shower/bath. The soap dispenser was almost empty when we checked and never refilled by the time we checked out.

The rooms and overall facilities need to be renovated as everything is rather old and tired looking. Not my favorite hotel during our week long stay in France.

We did appreciate the location as it was close to everything in Tours with plenty of dining options and shopping!

We had a nice stay here.
Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was also good with lots of options.
The area of improvement would be to maintain the pool area few times a day.
When we were there, there was a group of kids with no supervision of parents. The pool area was absolute mayhem, with pizza boxes n food everywhere. Kids doing cannon balls in the pool. I complained to the reception and they helped resolve the situation. The next few days the pool was ok but I noticed that by the end of the day, it could use sprucing up as not all guests are tidy and put their used towels in the used towel bins.
Other than that, the location is excellent and our stay was very comfortable. Spacious, updated rooms.

Excellent location in Tours (walkable to all the main sights) and a beautiful, historic hotel. Pool is a significant draw, esp in August heatwave. Staff were friendly, rooms are big and immaculate with comfy, big beds and lovely bed linen. We were disappointed not to be given interconnecting rooms (2 adults and 2 children so we had to split 1 parent and 1 kid in each room) despite arriving at 9.30am so plenty of time for this to be sorted (and they had given us interconnecting when we stayed 10 days previously). We put our bags in left-luggage and came back at 3pm (normal check-in time) only to be told the hotel was full so we couldn't have interconnecting. I wonder if this would have been different had they thought of it at 9.30am?! It's worth phoning in advance and securing an interconnecting room before you arrive, if this is important to you. Overall an excellent hotel and we will stay here again if the chance arises.

This hotel has quite a history , having hosted Charles de Galle, Winston Churchill, Hemingway and the list goes on. It's a beautiful hotel in a great location neat restaurants, bike rental and the train station. The front desk staff was incredibly helpful.

Excellent location near the Hotel de Ville, the main shopping boulevard, the Cathedral and a tram stop. Lots of restaurant choices nearby. 15 mins walk (or 2 tram stops) to the historic Place Plumereau and the river Loire. Beautiful, historic hotel with a small but perfect pool for cooling down after sightseeing. Breakfast and cleaning staff are brilliant. Room on 4th floor was very big, quiet, contemporary decor and very clean. Large, immaculate bathroom with useful electric radiator to dry off swimming things. Highly recommend this hotel and we will return.

The property is beautiful and in such a great location close to the main promenade, train station and tourism office (hub for excursions).

What made my stay even more superb was the front desk staff (Elza is wonderful and ever so helpful and friendly). Everyone went out of their way to help me (recommendations for restaurants, to find a suitcase, to call a taxi…the list goes on!)

The hotel is like a grand dame. Nice lobby and our upgraded room is very large, clean and comfortable. The hotel is a 4 mini walk from the train station and 15 from the old historic town. Many great restaurants on Rue Colbert but plan ahead and make reservations! Happy customer.

My second stay at this hotel. It’s very convenient to the train station and the main sights in Tours are within walking distance. There is a street of cafes around the corner and a tram stop. The room was large as was the bed with plenty of storage. Nice size bathroom and shower. Comfortable room. WiFi signal a bit weak but generally easy to connect to.

The location was good for us nice and handy to the railway station and cafe's. The trams were also very close.
We did find some of the staff not very friendly. We had to wait for someone to attend the counter for several minutes and there was staff in the office with the door open to the counter.
We had a \"loft\" room which was difficult due to the sloping roof. You had to be careful otherwise you were hitting your head on the \"ceiling\"

Great base for Tours and the Loire Valley

This hotel was a great base for our side trip to the Loire Valley, from Paris-- especially if you don't rent a car. We took the TGV from Paris, and this hotel is a very short walk from the train statio and also to the tourist office, where you'll meet your guides if you've booked any day trips. The hotel is comfortable, safe and welcoming in a much smaller city than Paris. And our room was huge with a great shower!

Walked into a beautiful hotel. Pulled up out front and parked on the street- front desk guy was quick to assure us we were fine- and we were! Sunday :) the room was excellent- clean, large, and comfortable. Put our stuff down and walked around and found numerous places to eat for dinner and breakfast the next morning. Great location to walk around and explore. We wish we had more time to explore and hang out in this nice city.

Hotel while not much to look at from the outside isn’t bad on the inside, in fact I would say quite nice. Can’t say much about staff as we didn’t interact with them at all outside of check-in/checkout. Room was nice, bathroom door was strange as it didn’t shut and the bed was as hard as the floor.

Stayed 4 nights in Oceania hotel. Overall hotel is good. It's in a great location, close to both the local train station and the Old City. Like many hotels in Europe it doesn't compare with the US 4 star hotels. Rooms are much smaller, beds less comfortable. But in Oceania's case, the shower was great - large and with a good water pressure. WiFi was very weak and spotty. At some point had to switch to the local cell connection to get online. Hotel is a little dated, but not overly so. I didn't try their restaurant since there're so many other options around. Since it's the best hotel in Tours, I'd probably stay there again if I was in town.
