The property around the hotel was littered with trash. Inside, there were several broken windows around the pool. Behind the center table between the queen beds was filthy! Behind the TV was filthy! There were long black hairs left in several places in the room. The door closures were poor and doors slammed throughout the night. The HVAC unit rattled when running.

The room was swept, nicely decorated, and bed was firm. I went through a 3rd party for the reservation. Breakfast during the week was from 8-10am and the options were a little different than other similar site. Over all it was a good stay. There was some unknown red material on the bathroom ceiling and the front desk made note of it.

The hotel was clean and the breakfast was great. Both desk clerks, when we checked in and then out were very nice and friendly. The breakfast staff was also ver nice and friendly. The only reason I didn’t give five stars is because it could use a little updating. Some things looked like they weren’t clean, but they were.

I stay at a lot of Hampton Inns and this one was on the low end. The hotel was clean and the housekeeper and breakfast assistant were very nice and helpful. The desk clerk was ok but rarely at the desk so there was a wait on check-in and when we walked in and out of the hotel, we rarely saw anyone. But the worst part was the chlorine from the pool. As soon as you entered the hotel it felt like a sauna in the lobby and the chlorine was so strong my eyes burned. We can smell it in our room on the 3rd floor. I asked the desk clerk to close the door to the pool because it was continuously propped open but he didn’t close it. We were there 3 nights and the smell was really strong. Would not stay here again

The room was large, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good. However, the bathroom drain plug needed repair, the hair conditioner bottle was empty and the toilet seat was loose. The TV remote was not working, so I had to go to the reception to have the batteries replaced. I also told the receptionist that our TV was not receiving any Spectrum TV channels. He indicated that Spectrum had an outage in the area because of the weather. I phoned Spectrum several hours after being told this, and the Spectrum CSR I spoke with told me that there was no area outage but rather the hotel TV services had been suspended because the hotel had not paid its bill for TV services. I reported this to the front desk receptionist. I believe that I should be entitled to compensation for the lack of TV during my stay.

The room itself was clean but the tub needed work. I feel it’s an older place that needs to be updated. I put water in the fridge and it froze the water. I couldn’t figure out how to change the temperature of the room so it was a little cold for me. The TV supposedly only had the main stations although I couldn’t get it to work at all.

The place looked fine at a glance but upon closer inspection there were all kinds of hastily made patches and cover ups. Chair had stains on it. Overall just not a very impressive room for the price. Great choice for Kings Island trips

The wife and I have been staying here for our last few weekend trips to Cincinnati/Kings Island and have yet to have a bad stay here. The rooms are greatly taken care of and the surrounding area has plenty to offer for food options for those on a budget (there's even a Kroger just down the street for longer stays).

With it being close by I-71 and within 10 minutes of Kings Island, its a great choice for families as well as the property offers breakfast for guests each morning. There are options around the hotel as well but the breakfast here has enough options for everyone to get their day going.

Let down and upset

I made the mistake of using Hotels.com. We had reserved a totally handicapped room, but didn’t receive it. I asked about getting one. I was pretty rudely treat by the night manager and basically to tough! I think it’s a shame to pay over $200 a night for a couple of nights and not even be able to bath since my husband could not get in and out of the tub. We reserved a walk in. Basically tough, no changes or consideration. On top of it all this was not up to Hampton Standards. ITT had a tiny lobby, the breakfast was good, as the eating area, but the upkeep lacked I’ll attach photos of the issues. I’ve never minded paying for a Hampton when I could count on it. Not anymore. The value, quality, and ANY concerns usually addressed by Hampton fell on deaf early. I will never use these two entities again . Mildew and filth on tub corners, towel rack not usable

We have stayed at many Hampton Inns across the country. This particular one did not meet the standards we have found elsewhere. The room was clean and the bed comfortable but the decor was dated and the bathroom needed a deep clean. There was mold on the caulking . We enjoyed the breakfast each morning and there was a nice variety. One of the employees who supervised the breakfast area was very friendly and helpful. She always had a smile .

At 12:30AM two men came to our door. They knocked and tried to get in. When we didn’t let them in they made their way down the hall knocking on doors. We heard them say they would try the second floor. We called the front desk to report. They did nothing. The men came back and tried our door again. Not sure what exactly it was but it was scary to think of what could have been and that the staff was not responsive.

Asked for a quiet room. Said we could only get the room reserved for us by our agent? Gave us a room that smelled like urine/poop. When asked to change reiterated that the room was reserved by our agent. Also stated hotel is 30 years old. No other rooms could be assigned. When spouse asked for nearest SPRINGHILL Suites, David immediately gave location. No attempt to provide another room despite virtually empty parking lot. When I asked to speak with manager, then David suddenly found another room. This by the exit door, stating door often sticks. Not quiet! Wall shakes every time someone attempts to enter or exit. Door bangs shut when working. This room also smells like urine but not poop. Unknown dripping Substances on headboard, seriously dusty lamp shades. Have previously stayed as a Hiltonhonors member at many Hampton Inn & Hilton properties without any issues. This booking with Expedia. Not happy nor comfortable here. Also, manager’s business cards have mysteriously disappeared from front desk! Too tired from full day of driving to look for suitable alternative accommodations.

Our nicest stay in Mason

We've stayed at various hotels in Mason over the years and this Hampton Inn is by far the best.We arrived early and the staff allowed us to check in early; great customer service. Our king bedroom was very spacious with a nice business desk and recliner. A large fridge was nice. We had an ADA shower, which we didn't require, however found it's much nicer than a tub. The breakfast are is nice with a variety of seating styles. Nancy kept the area clean and stocked and puts a lot of effort into making it nice. The exercise room was clean with nice equipment. If we're ever back in mason we'll definitely stay here.

The gentleman that checked me in was terrific. The room is spacious and it has a nice aesthetic. That said, it's nearly thirty years old and some of it seems a bit dated. The location is near the I-71 freeway which is fine but it's also on a generic deadened street. Doesn't seem to have much charm or character.

The property itself is in good condition -- not pristine, but quite sufficient.
The staff kept everything very clean, so no complaints there. Overall the staff seemed very friendly and happy to be there, which seems to suggest a good management and a good working environment.
Aia at the front desk was extremely helpful, personable and competent, and made us feel welcomed and valued.
Nancy did a great job with the included breakfast, which might be the best I've experienced. The operation was well organized, with signs telling you exactly where and when to expect everything (coffee always!). The selection was just right, not too fancy, and the food was all of good quality. And again, everything was kept spotless.
I have saved this place in my favorites and will definitely return here the next time I'm in the area. For my budget, I can't imagine finding anything better.

We were given a room walked in and it was still dirty. Bed was not made, towels on floor in bathroom, and obviously not clean. Went to front desk and they then gave us another room, 2 bottles of water and said sorry. The breakfast was a bust! Just some smoke sausage that was tough and premade school stlye omelet with cheese that was all baked out of it. Just not very good! The only thing great was the bed. It was comfortable and slept well. The establishment is just outdated and needs some TLC.

I was given a room on the first floor that had black mold on the bathroom ceiling. You could see that there had been damage to the ceiling at some point. I requested a different room as I am highly allergic to mold. The second room was on the second floor and also had mold spots on the ceiling. There is a bulge in the drywall of the ceiling which looks like water damage. I stayed overnight with the bathroom door closed and left the next morning. I forwarded pictures to the desk clerk, who forwarded them to her manager. I was told that I would receive a refund but have yet to see it after 3 days. I reached out through Expedia and have yet to receive a response.

The person that checked us in was kinda rude and unfriendly. I thought that extraordinary attention was given to the check in process, even though I had pre- registration, I was asked for my drivers license, last four numbers of my social and my home address. I understand the need for identification. But I thought that was a little overboard! Also, I was not credited for my Military discount. When checking out I had to ask for a receipt. Which distracted me from checking on the military discount. However, I assumed that I would be automatically credited the discount as I had pre-registered with Hotel.com and that was a part of the quote. That should have been a given! A little RUDE all the way around,don’t you think?

You get what you pay for!

MAKE SURE YOU CHECK FOR BUGS AND THAT THEY CHANGED THE LINENS!

Every time I go to a hotel the first thing I always do is check for bugs. I instantly noticed that the bed had hairs in it, looked like pubic hair and we hadn’t even lied down yet. I didn’t see any bed bugs which was awesome. I flipped over the pillow and saw a live lice bug! I went to the front desk and complained. The man wanted to argue and say that he knew the room had been cleaned and had fresh linens which was clearly not true. Eventually he gave up and they gave me a whole new room.
This room didn’t have bugs but the walls are so thin you hear EVERYTHING outside and in the hallways and next door. I tried to use the AC fan to cover the noise. It worked somewhat but I ended up getting congested from the dirty musty filter they had inside it. The bathroom had mold on the roof.
Not sure why this hotel has an 8/10 rating. Definitely NOT deserved.

I stayed for one night while traveling and the room and hotel had everything I wanted/ needed at a very reasonable price. Clean, comfortable room, decent hot breakfast, and pleasant, helpful staff. Loved the quiet surroundings, with the hotel butting up against beautiful agricultural land that will likely be destroyed for more big box stores in the near future, but which for now serves as wildlife habitat and an important reminder that this area was all farms and small towns until recently.
