This hotel is a real gem and likely will forever be our hotel in Paris. Recently undergone a full renovation in the absolute best style, colors,, materials, appointments, cute amenities, an adorable spa that is apparently difficult to get into but we will plan ahead next time. I’m told that room 55 is the best room and not ridiculously more than their cheapest room so we will be booking that room in the future, which has a balcony overlooking the Eiffel Tower. My wife and daughter stayed there last year and we will be staying there going forward. The staff is incredible and helpful and accommodating and friendly. We love this hotel.

One of the loveliest hotels ever. Staff were helpful, food was delicious and atmosphere and rooms were well-appointed and spotless! The location is near two Metro stations and walkable within 2-3 miles of almost everything one might want to see. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Overall it was a lovely stay. Staff were exceptionally fiendly and the breakfast we good. However, our room felt like it needed some repairs. The bathroom door wouldn't shut properly and the shower door would squeak loudly when opened (a problem when trying to shower quietly in the morning and not wake up my boyfriend). We also found the room extremely hot at night and we couldn't understand how to adjust the temperature so we resorted to sleeping with the window open at night. Despite this, it was still a nice stay.

We stayed here for two nights and, unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. From the very first night, we encountered multiple issues that made our stay uncomfortable.

Our sleep was disrupted late into the night by a continuously crying child, which, while not the hotel’s fault, set the tone for an exhausting stay. On top of that, our room had a leaking thermostat and a constantly dripping shower, both of which we had to try to manage ourselves.

The most frustrating part was the complete lack of assistance from hotel staff. Despite multiple attempts to contact reception via phone and mobile, as well as sending an email, we received no response, even three days later. No one offered to move us to another room or provide any help.

We have since checked out, but for the price of over $1,000 for two nights, this level of service and lack of response is unacceptable.

We do not recommend this hotel based on our experience. There are many other options in the area, and the one we stayed at in Paris prior to this was far superior in service and only 3 stars.

Excellent service, we had no issues at all. Room was perfect for 2 very comfortable and cute. We got the red/burgundy room. No issues with AC or elevator as mentioned on other reviews. Very walkable to main sites, restaurants and shopping. Almost everybody speaks English and were all very friendly. Definitely a great place to stay.

Recent 4 day romantic break. First time in Paris and found Hotel Duquense to be fantastically positioned for access to the main sights. Easy walking distance to many places and several metro stations very close providing a gateway to the rest of Paris. Hotel generally clean and city view room on 4th floor gave amazing view of Eiffel tower. Breakfast good but limited variety. Planning further trips to Paris and will definitely book Hotel Duquense every time.

I just want to preface this by saying- I think this is the first bad review I’ve ever written. My husband and I were so excited to stay in Paris and this hotel just was not it. We walked into the hotel and a hotel guest was calling the concierge mean and an “a**hole”. We don’t know what happened but after talking to the concierge after the hotel guest left, we sided with the hotel guest. The concierage threatened to call the police and threatened to give away her passport info/name if she didn’t apologize. My husband and I just stood there…

The room itself is very small, the shower door didn’t close all the way, so water was always coming out, and after researching for hotels and places that had AC, I was excited because this hotel had it but then the AC broke (which I know is out of their control). But they didn’t tell us, until I called the front desk and then they offered to bring us a fan.

The highlight though was Remy- the man who served us breakfast and coffee in the morning. He was so sweet and kind and we loved them.

Overall, I would say that I wouldn’t ever recommend this hotel to someone staying in Paris. It’s not worth the money and you could get a better experience somewhere else.

Truly a remarkable stay. The staff was so nice and welcoming. Our room got an upgrade when we checked in. We could see the Eiffel Tower when we sat outside for breakfast. I felt very safe in the neighborhood. I booked a spa appointment and it was so lovely to relax in their spa.

This property is advertised as a 4-star hotel, but our experience was far from it. On our last night, the spa was unusable due to bugs in the jets and staff forgetting to prepare the room for us we booked the hotel to enjoy these amenities that were advertised. The room was dirty upon arrival - pillows had makeup stains and hair and we were consistently locked out, wasting time and causing stress. It took over an hour and three follow-ups just to get replacement pillows. The buffet food was also covered in bugs on our first day, making it inedible.

Despite raising these issues, service was slow and unhelpful. We expected a clean, safe, and relaxing stay, but instead encountered poor hygiene, constant inconveniences, and little accountability. Definitely not 4-star quality.

My wife and I came here for our honeymoon and the hotel is clean, nice and cozy but keep in mind the rooms are very, very small. However, it being small does not take away from the friendly staff, and convenience of location. Everything is walkable, and surrounded by bars/restaurants.

Located right off of Piazza Navona the area around the hotel is lively and an easy walk to popular sites. Rooftop is absolutely Perfect for a pre dinner cocktail. Loved it!!

Steve was great. Staff was very nice. Our standard comfort room that we stayed in for three nights was a little small but quaint and the bed was fairly big and bathroom was adequate. On our last nights after coming back from Spain, we stayed there one more night and had the views of the Eiffel Tower unbelievable Highly recommend those room pay the extra to have the view of the Eiffel Tower. The only thing was are into the room the toilet separate section the shower and sink which was a little odd but all in all big room with a nice king size bed with the Eiffel Tower highly recommended.

The hotel is a nice option for a quiet area in Paris. It was walkable to the Eiffel Tower. The room was small, but adequate for 2 of us. I loved the fresh flowers and macaroons on arrival.
The carpet in our room needed a good cleaning. There were many stains. The breakfast did not have a lot of variety...I preferred to eat out near-by where there were many more options.

Room was much smaller than advertised property is very small. Was sold a room with a view and did not deliver with no rate adjustment. Fire dept had to come for a gas leak. Bathroom sink drain was slow, shower was a box shower like a cruise. Lights require a key to stay on which means you better have a key for each person. They didn’t give us that. Speaking of the key our one key stoppped working on day 2 and needed to be re programmed. The fridge has a light that doesn’t work and flashed all night long. Speaking of the fridge it was poorly installed without ventillation causing heat in the shelving. No water pressure in the shower, a bar that doesn’t open a broken bed light and more. Not what I paid for. I will say it was very clean!

Overrated hotel rooms and service

Room was smaller then shown on the photo. Matrass was not convenient - upper thinner matrass had a tendency to slide off from a larger one. Old safe deposit box, probably manufactured in the 60-70th, located at very the bottom of closet, next to the refrigerator engine. Engine got hot, heated the safe and both produced a lot of heat. A/C controls was not working. Was hard to sleep.
TV sound was \"locked\" at 20 max on the remote, so if you do not hear well, you will have problems.
Bottle of water was provided only once, at check-in. No more water for other days.
Does not look like a EUR 230 /USD 260 per day hotel.

Although clean and presentable, the room looked dated and in need of an upgrade. Its price probably reflects the view of the Eiffel Tower. The reception was decorated more up market than my room.
I’d go back but, there’s definitely a need to upgrade the bathroom/ bedroom and who heard of a toilet directly off the bedroom…

We really liked this place. However, if you're looking for something large and spacious, this place is a little tight - AS ALMOST ALL hotels in Paris are. Unless the hotel was completely rebuilt from the ground up, you're going to have rooms like ours.
We stayed in room 54 and loved it. A little tight but adequate and comfortable. We paid extra for the breakfast as part of our reservation and we're glad we did. Saved a lot in doing so and it was better than average. Better than a Holiday Inn Express.
Note, the photo of the Eiffel Tower in the corner room is on the top floor (5) and is room 55. You can't get this room through Expedia. You need to go to their website. It's listed as a Premium Room. You'll need to ask for this room at booking - so book early if you want it.
It IS magical to stand/sit on the narrow deck and watch the tower light up for the evening. We met several guests doing the same as we did. Rooms 51 through 55 have a great view and sitting area. Room 56 (and I think 57) have decks too, but you're not going to see the tower.
If you reserve a room, but can't get the premium rooms, you'll need to ask for a room on the side of the hotel that faces the Eiffel Tower, otherwise, there is no guarantee you'll get one.
Underground subway about two blocks away (Ecole Militaire) and you can get to lots of places from this station. However, there are NO escalators or elevators in the MAJORITY of Paris stations. Plan accordingly for luggage hauling.

What is not shown on the Expedia site is that the Hotel has a separate website where four or five rooms are offered on the top floor (with views of the Eiffel Tower and a deck where you can sit). Fortunately, they put us in one of these rooms since I pointed out they showed photos of the corner room and imply this is one of the superior rooms - when it isn't. if these unadvertised rooms were available on the Expedia site then I'd have no problems with them showing these photos of this great room (we had the room next to it - which was excellent). If you decide to try for these rooms, make sure you request for one of the following:
51 through 55 (55 is the corner room - the one in the photo). 54, the one we had, was excellent. We watched the lights of the Eiffel Tower turn on every night and sat on the deck almost every night and talked with people sitting on their decks too. It was an excellent place to be. The hotel has a small but great breakfast venue and for the cost, I do recommend that since it's in the basement and has a better than average set of choices. Do remember, this is Paris, and everything is older, so the rooms are fairly small, but adequate (if you've got a lot of luggage, you're going to run into some problems). The Ecole Militaire underground station is a long block away and DOES NOT have elevators or escalators. If you've got a lot of luggage, take a taxi because you've got to carry it up LOTS of stairs in the underground maze.
