We were welcomed with a drink on the beautiful balcony while they brought our bags to the room. The room was spacious and air conditioned, however; the comforter was heavy. The breakfast was wonderful. A very nice buffet with an incredible view. They even had mimosas! The spa and outdoor tub looked nice but we did not use. We would definitely stay here again.

Reception is behind glass, like a bank teller.
Valet failed to bring all bags to room. AC started weak, but did improve. An annoying fly greeted is in our room as we entered. Had to ask for housekeeping needs such as towels , tissue paper and shower gel.
Inside jacuzzi in poor repair with missing jets.
AMAZING view. Terrific breakfast staff.
When arrived and asked valet for ice, he directed me to lake side bar (2-3 flights down from reception)
Nice they provided complimentary transportation to restaurants off the premesus.

Wow! What a property! My wife and I stayed at the Belvedere Swiss Quality Hotel on Oct. 16 for just one night in the “Classic - Double -or Twin Room, Balcony, Mountainview (Eiger), Air Condition” room. It was an amazing room with the best view from our balcony of the Eiger glacier and the town of Grindelwald!

The front desk staff greeted us warmly and answered all of our questions about the hotel and the area.

The hotel is walking distance from the train station which is also walking distance from all the shops in town.

We supremely enjoyed their breakfast (which isn’t included with our stay but is extremely worth it) which had so many local options. Their wait staff was also so accommodating and pleasant.

It is a higher priced hotel, but if it’s possible for you to afford this hotel, I promise that it is well worth the price! Do not hesitate to book it!

The location was excellent and our room was nice. Corner room with beautiful views. Compared to other hotels that we stayed in during our visit to Switzerland, this hotel was well overpriced. The breakfast was good, but we did not enjoy the dinner that we ordered. Very expensive and not very good. I would not recommend this hotel.

Now, I’m going to be honest. The rooms are not updated or fancy…more like a holiday inn….but the staff more than makes up for the simple/old rooms. Every single person was so nice, kind, and helpful. Georgia was especially helpful to us! We appreciated her advice! The outdoor deck was beautiful, and the restaurant was fantastic! Also, the location could not be better with amazing views.

Customer service was just ok, should be more friendly. The only person was friendly a whole time was the little young man with a long name that worked on that day when we arrived but the other one wasn't friendly at all. I forgot the name of this guy but if you mention it, I would know. He offered to came down to join the welcome drink in the evening which I believed was 6.30 or 7 pm & he tried to introduced us to the owner & his son. I thought this young man was great for customer service. I saw a certificate on the wall that he recognized did a great job. Hotel should have a coffee machine to make coffee instead of pot to boil hot water for my opinion. Also should have bottle of water at least 1 for each guest instead of go get water from a faucet.

Initially was a little disappointed since the hotel is not as modern, however this was very quickly replaced with a real appreciation around the level of service and comfort. Every employee are friendly and helpful, even with the effort that was made in order to help get the hybrid vehicle charged. The food is great, Jonathan the bar man made any possible drink and the spa is lovely. It also has the best view from their patio.

Highly recommended hotel. very nice breakfast. very nice location. friendly staff. safe. swimming pool was great specially the outdoor pool :P . The bed was not comfortable for me but for my wife is good she like it but I don't. However they offer me to change the room but we have agreement to satay for the same which is they are ready to help and support thank you all. the room has a best view I ever had in my experience. clean room. very good restaurant view. The manager sent us a kind chocolate gift thank you so much and will come again for sure.

Lost its magic.

This is the 2nd time we stayed at this hotel. The 1st time the experience was simply magical. We loved everything from the room with the scenery to the food to chatting with the owner himself. This time, not sure what happened, dinner was not as good in the restaurant and service quality has declined. We waited for the bartender for 20 minutes with no service, so we left without ever enjoying our welcome drinks. Maybe covid is to blame.

Had low expectations, but is succeeded and beyond. A great stay with a personal touch. Usually stay in more exclusive hotels, but this was equally or in many ways a better experience. The rooms are clean and nice, but not luxurious, but the staff and the owner family being present and personal, the pianist in the restaurant, made the difference.

Service was poor from the moment we arrived. We drove and parked at the top of the drive way. There were no porters around and even after informing front desk that we needed a porter to help with our large suitcases, none came at a timely manner. So after a long day of travelling by train and driving, my mother and I lifted our suitcases and brought them ourselves to the lobby. It was not a huge deal breaker, but I was already weary of the lack of attention to hotel guests. Front desk was also not particularly friendly. Also, they handed us two room key cards that DID NOT WORK. I had to go downstairs and get them fixed. Very rocky start to our journey.

The room and hallways have an old building smell. And though the views are quite incredible from the room, the balcony seems to be poorly maintained. Cobblewebs at every corner with carpeting that isn’t quite clean. Imagine our disappointment as the rooms are quite expensive.

Best hotel in Grindelwald!

A friend of mine stayed here in May and highly recommended to me. I booked it based on her words and I absolutely loved it. I had the Eiger room with a big balcony that faces the Eiger mountain as well as the dream-like cottages built on the slope of the mountain. The view is breathtaking! The room is well proportioned and spacious. Food in the restaurant is excellent from breakfast to dinner (restaurant also has an amazing view of the mountain). I will definitely come back.

Although Grindelwald had extreme amount of snow the day we stayed in this hotel, the view was amazing from our room! The food was not as great as we thought it would be, but all the staffs at hotel were nice and facilities were very luxurious and amazing. Excellent updated rooms (heater bathroom floors!), very good breakfast buffet and dinner options. Patio overlooking Mount Eiger is a very relaxed setting. A close 1-2 mins walk from the train station. Would definitely recommend staying here!

The have the best bedding!

This is a very nice hotel. They have the killing view but also the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in! They have wide range of pillow choices to suit your style. We also really enjoyed the outdoor jacuzzi on a snowing day... most beautiful experience. Breakfast was okay but not many options compared to other hotels we've stayed in Europe. Overall a very pleasant stay and would like to comeback for another stay.

Gazing at the Eiger from your Balcony

This hotel was the perfect place to stay and enjoy the wonder of the Swiss Alps. After a day of hiking and exploring, it was a place to call home. The staff was extraordinarily helpful and always willing to stop and answer questions, provide guidance (sometimes literally) and even went so far as to offer a \"welcome drink\" out on the terrace with a majestic view of the Eiger upon arrival. Now that, my friends, is a tough act to follow. :)

Overall it is a great hotel. It has an amazing view. There is a pillow menu to pick a comfortable pillow. The room is small but has all the required necessities and the staff is great. There is complimentary breakfast with a great view of the mountains and hills while you eat. They can also book the tickets to Jungfraujoch for you, if needed.

This hotel was beautifully scenic without even going anywhere! They serve a wonderful breakfast with smiles. I stayed in an Eiger view room with a balcony. There is no smoking in the room or on the balcony, so the rooms were absolutely clean. It was in-between seasons and the view of the village was still exceptional whether the mountains were draped in mist or snow. The rooms were heated perfectly, never too hot or cold. There is an indoor pool that also leads into a small outdoor heated pool, with the entrance being on the first floor and robe with slippers provided in your room. I was so happy that they follow sustainability and change your bed linens only if you leave the little green pillow on your bed. If you require your towels changed, you leave them in the tub. Otherwise you are free to reuse your bath towel left on the towel heater on the wall. You can choose various mattress toppers and pillows on their website before you arrive. They are a very short walk from the train station, but should you need to, you can contact them prior to your arrival and ask for transportation to the hotel. I was offered a welcoming drink at my arrival!

The room we had was on the corner and had amazing views. The bed was SO comfortable. We slept so well. The food was great; breakfast being our favorite meal. The staff was so nice and welcoming. Our dog was treated well and was comfortable there as well. It was such a pleasant stay. If we ever find ourselves in Grindelwald again, we will choose this hotel.

Hotel Belvedre is amongst the oldest hotels in Grindelwald and it lives up to the quality of service, standards and comfort. really a good stay, hospitable & friendly staff, great rooms and great service. Hotel was OK overall. We, familly of 4 had a very nice Swiss vacation in which the hotel was a part. Off course we had choose it carefully based on other reviwews but mostlly on location. Even thought we DID Not Receive the Rooms that we had booked (i.e. we got the rooms on oposite side from what we chose to have) but hey, that is not a big deal when you have on both sides beautiful views. Breakfast was amazing, tipical Switzerland, vith a splendid view of the Alps. Decent cleanliness, staff wery helpfull in regards to your needs, Sauna and the outdoor pool ... a nice touch to the amenities. All in all a pleasenat experience in Grindelwald. Will recomend it to all mountain travellers.

There is still room for improvement especially for the summer months (Air Conditioning is needed) Nights can be hot in Switzerland too. :-)

The most stunning views

We chose Grindelwald and this hotel to be able to see the \"Top of Europe\" and to relax after many days sightseeing in other Cantons. The room with a view of the Eiger mountain was so comfortable with a huge balcony where we were able to chill out with a bottle of wine and just enjoy the stunning view. The breakfast is among the best we had so far. I would definitely include it if you are booking through hotels.com.unfortunately we were early birds for the time of year so the restaurant for dinner was closed. No problem though. We took the owners suggestion and went to The Derby across from the train stop. Fabulous with a capital F. Have the lamb. The people here couldn't have been more welcoming. Like family. My husband and I highly recommend this hotel owned by the same family for generations . Thank you Julia for all your help! Oh and how could I forget the outdoor warm salt spa, pool, jacuzzi and sauna. The best anywhere!

Excellent hotel. Great location. Views are incredible. Camera hardly left my hand the whole stay. Lovely and quiet as we went during off peak time. Usually a skiing village. Locals were really friendly. Trip to the top of Europe train station was the highlight of the trip. Highly recommend visiting it. It's expensive but we'll worth it. Would definitely recommend staying here and will probably return for some skiing some year

- Hotel staff Gregor provided excellent service. He is very patient in answering our questions and care for the guests.
- Had sparkling wine as welcome drinks at the lounge overlooking the Eiger.
- Must get rooms with Eiger view. Truly amazing and very close to the mountain.
- Very large window so that you could see the mountain from your bed.
- Large balcony to sit and relax in front of the mountain.
- Excellent breakfast buffet selections including smoked salmon and many kinds of cheese.
- Outdoor jacuzzi, swimming pool, decorated sauna room and steam room are must-do activities
- bed and pillow were a bit too soft
- sometimes can hear foot stamping noises from upstairs
- newly renovated and very clean
- many cabinets for storage
- the hangers behind the door are quite convenient for hanging thick jackets
- free bus travelling in Grindelwald
- very pleasant and happy experience
- quite expensive compared to others but worth it

Perfect Hotel in the middle of Grindelwald!

Stayed here and found the hotel to be excellent. very clean, very good staff and a great location with great views. A 5 minute walk to a number of restaurants each night for dinner. The breakfast each morning was also very good. I would certainly stay here again.

Excellent Hotel in Grindelwald

This is an excellent hotel in Grindelwald. The best part is probably the restaurant downstairs, which is open for dinner and offers both a prix fixe and a-la-carte menu. Breakfast, also in the restaurant, is included and offers a wide selection of items. The rooms were a bit on the warm side, even with the air turned-on, but I had a balcony facing the Eiger, which could be opened to cool down the room. Also, the shower, which is common for Switzerland, is somewhat poorly designed and tends to get water over the floor. However, overall, this hotel is excellent.

We stayed in Hotel Belvedere for our 1st wedding anniversary, we loved the stay and it's very memorable.
Tasja, Carina and the staff are very friendly and they made special arrangements for our anniversary and exactly the way we wanted. Also, helped arranging a ceremony at the church.
We had a welcome drink from the restaurant and views from this hotel are stunning. The room was nice, clean and had stunning views.
We were late to breakfast at times however the restaurant/kitchen staff always had a smile and served us with warmth.
The Grindelwald village is very beautiful, scenic and close to Jungfrau, Interlaken.
We enjoyed the hospitality at the hotel and we would definitely recommend Hotel Belvedere!

Lovely Christmas holiday

We loved our stay at the Belvedere! Was a great place to spend Christmas, although I wish they had a wider selection for Christmas dinner. The spa area perfect- everything we would want but the real gem is the outdoor salt tub!

fabulous hotel with extra unexpected services

Grindelwald is a fabulous place which everywhere is already a scenic view. The hotel manager has arranged a van to pick us up from station, though it was only 3mjns drive but it saves us a lot of energy esp travelling with 3 luggage a and 2 back packs...this is the 1st wow...the 2nd wow was that we were being informed that we were upgraded to a better suite. While the bedroom door opened, we were shocked by the stunning view of Jungfra, as it was just in front of us looking thru the terrace. The 3rd wow of this hotel was that we were rushed to go up the mountain on our check out date, but then which we left our camera in the room after checked out...by the time we found out that...they have already sent a staff to bring back our camera directly to the train station...what a service!!! We would definitely come back and recommend to our friends to this hotel in the future.

P.S. - we loved their breakfast so much, as an Asian, you will almost cry out when u travelled in Europe almost 2weeks and then found out there are white rice with vegetable miso soup....which is 10x better than Fondue!!!

Perfectly nice hotel

Having booked in mid April, which is a very quiet time for Grindelwald as the lifts are shut and the summer season is yet to start, the hotel was understandably quiet. Pleasant hotel staff offered welcome drinks and informed us we had been given a far better room than we'd paid for, in the corner of the fourth floor on the Eiger side of the building. Hotel amenities were good, unfortunately the games room appeared to be shut when we were there. Breakfast was good for a continental hotel, including interesting meats and cheeses and what appeared to be fresh fruit juices. The hotel was slightly soulless, but this was perhaps due to the time of year. Overall though an excellent stay, I would book again.

Belvedere Swiss Q Hotel

We arrived by train and saw the Hotel Belvedere from the train tracks and easily walked there with our luggage. Upon arrival, we were offered champagne and enjoyed a complimentary fruit and chocolate plate in our room. Our room faced the mountain with 2 glassed walls which allowed us to enjoy the fantastic views. We woke to the mellow sound of cowbells as the Swiss cows filed out of the barn. The room was very comfortable with thick down comforters and a marbled bathroom. A full breakfast was included and delicious. Hotel is a short and pleasant walk to the town of Grindelwald and the train station. We loved this hotel and the relaxing town of Grindelwald.

Go for the mountain view; if the weather is not cloudy the scenery would be incomparable and inexpressible.

The staffs were so kind and willing to help us in every way.
Also enjoyed whirlpool, spa, sauna and swimming pool.

Deeply satisfied with the hotel - will give 11 out of 10 and recommend you to stay here if you were to stay in Grindelwald.
