quaint hotel within walking distance of major attractions. Tiny room but if you are a solo traveler, it’s all you need. The staff was extremely helpful with restaurant recommendations. I would not recommend for guests with mobility issues as even the room that I had requested, and had made sure there was an elevator, there were still multiple steps to get to the room. It was in the middle of the pedestrian zone, which was great for walking, but it could be louder in the evenings.

I had a great stay at the Hotel de la Presse. Staff was always friendly, breakfast was great, and I personally enjoyed the central location at the busy shopping area close to many attractions, restaurants, and public transportation. My room met my expectations given the hotel ranking and the photos: the room was pretty small, but it had everything I needed for my stay. One con in the room was the working station: the desk was too high compared to the chair height, so it would have been impossible to actually work there comfortably.
I'm happy to recommend this hotel if you are looking for an affordable place with friendly staff and a superb location in beautiful downtown of Bordeaux.

Very centrally located with lots of shopping and dining options around. Unfortunately there is a smell as soon as you walk up to the reception. The room was small and the shower (which is not separated by a wall) was dripping and not stoppable.

The hotel and room smelled of sewer gas and rotting garbage. The TV did not work. Some lighting was burnt out. The faucets sprayed sideways. The curtains and walls were dirty. The balcony was littered with cigarette buts. The pillows were old with broken down foam. Needs a complete Reno to update the property especially getting rid of the smelly carpets. Would Not recommend. Definitely not worth the price we paid. :(

Lovely stay in Bordeaux. The hotel was really central. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. We only had breakfast on the last morning we were there and it was really enjoyable and pretty reasonable. I'd certainly stay again. The only improvement is suggest would be to provide a kettle in the room.

Great little hotel close to everything

The hotel is in a perfect location in the heart of the shopping district and walking distance to many of the the “big” sites and several tram stops. The rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable. You have to leave your key whenever you go out which I don’t really like, but the staff is very friendly and efficient so it’s not a big imposition. Amazingly, this little hotel has an elevator which is not a standard feature in small European hotels. It was a very welcome sight when I arrived with my big suitcase!

Bordeaux's Hidden Gem

Location is amazing, in the middle of everything. Literally steps from some of the best shopping and restaurants in Bordeaux! The staff was very friendly and quick to offer advice on shopping, gyms, restaurants, and transportation. This is my 2nd time staying at this property and I will be back again.

3 star hotel=1star per night of stay

A 3 star hotel, got 1 star for each night we stayed. Paid $150 per night ,no breakfast, and got a spacious but weird room (320), above the very noisy pedestrian street, shower w/o door, tiny toilet w/o ventilation. Upon complaint, we moved the next day to a better one (326) but still overall unsatisfactory. Shabby hotel, take it only if you have no choice! Staff was helpful.

Wonderfully modern and classic

This is a really nice, modern hotel in a beautiful old building. Everything was beyond my expectations but the size. The rooms were slightly cramped but for a place to sleep, wash and rest it was perfect. I'd happily recommend this place to anyone.

A great location in the city centre, a few minutes walk from the miroir d'eau and winding streets. The room was good value, although a little small. And the only drawback of the location was a boisterous group singing on the streets in the early hours - bring ear plugs.

Great staff, good location somewhat near a few metro lines, 10 minute walk to Notre Dame or some parks, 30 minutes to Louvre or other sites. Overall good. Breakfast was good (next door) but you can stop by a local shop for cheaper to save some cash. Room was nice, small like most in Paris, and the bathroom was hard to not get wet the way the shower was set. But overall a good place.

Hotel staff and location were excellent. Hotel is a bit dated. Could use additional amenities in room like a bar of soap or body lotion. AC didn't work well. Elevator was broken. Only iron was in the kitchen and was in very bad conditions. If none of these things are important to you, great hotel.

I was situated in an annexe of the building via narrow stairs, to the 4th, alarms went off in the hall way, and felt pushed and charged by staff to take expensive breakfast i didn't take on the second day of my stay. No resting area or loung, shabby hallway overall horrible experience.

A bed, toilet, and shower. What else you need?

Last minute trip to Bordeaux made for a fun time. This is a great location for cafes and shopping. The hotel was middle of the road, comfortable enough for my solo stay, affordable, but you wouldn't want to spend too much time in the room.

Hotel well-located for central Bordeaux. Perfectly clean, reasonable and adequate for a short stay. Park in the Grands Hommes underground car park, 5 minutes walk away-the hotel's guests receive a discounted rate there. The hotel is a minute from the Grand Theatre, in a pedestrianised zone and it's impossible to park any nearer, so don't try - it's a nightmare!

Quirky hotel. Hints us arriving by car.

Location made me give this hotel a 3-star rather than 2-star rating. Hotel is a bit quirky, which I was expecting. The room was very barren - poor lighting and minimal furniture; however, it was spacious. Bathroom, though modern and clean, was very small and toilet was set up on a large cramped step. This made it very difficult to use.
Alert - if arriving by car, do not use the hotel address as a destination. Due to traffic system in Bordeaux, it us impossible to drive to the street. Hotel street is closed to traffic. You should use the hotel parking lot as the GPS destination. That address is \"Place de Grande Hommes\". I wish we had know this, it would have saved us much frustration, Additionally, this parking garage is several blocks from the hotel, so plan on walking with your luggage. We did not use the breakfast at the hotel.

Not great. Did not like the fact that shower had a clear glass door and opened directly into the bedroom. In fact the shower was in the bedroom, giving a whole new meaning to \"en suite\". We have been married for some time, but you are washing your butt you want a little privacy.

Hotel de la Presse is a great little boutique hotel near (maybe in?) the Golden Triangle in Bordeaux. As you can see from my scores, we found it to be well located, very comfortable, and the staff was terrific. I would stay there again.

Chambres vieillottes. La notre était médiocre (en raison de la réservation via hotels.com?). Pas de salle de bain !!. Un WC dans un placard. Une douche derrière un rideau. Et un petit lavabo dans la chambre entre le lit et le rideau de la douche. Jamais vu cela depuis des voyages en asie du sud-est dans les années 90. Si on ajoute une déco inexistante ou moche, o obtient même pas le niveau d'un 2*.

Un 2 étoiles plutôt qu’un 3 étoiles

La chambre était bien plus petite que prévue, elle n’est pas en photo sur hôtels.com. Attention pour les clostrophobes.

Les chambres sont dans leur jus, avec des taches douteuses, fissures et autres et les couloirs sentent le renfermé.

L’hôtel est bien placé, mais il n’y a aucune isolation sonore côté rue, il est donc impossible de dormir convenablement.

Pour finir, le terminal de paiement de l’hôtel ne fonctionnait pas, nous avons écopé d’un aller et retour à la banque pour clôturer l’expérience.

Point positifs: le petit déjeuner qui s’est révélé être très bon et le personnel de nuit, qui doit avoir plusieurs boites de boules quies d’avance.

Les chambres sont immenses avec lit 180 cm très confortable. Salle de bain petite mais refaite récemment.

L’accueil a été bon mais la réponse apportée à 2 reprise sur le soucis des sanitaires était inappropriée et mensongère puisque le
rabat des toilettes ovale que des toilettes rectangulaires était juste posé et non fixé sur la cuvette ce qui fait que nous nous sommes pris le couvercle sur le dos en étant en équilibre à chaque fois!
Ç’est un détail inconfortable et inacceptable pour un 3 étoiles surtout que ce désagrément n’est pas dû à client ayant détérioré
