I hate New Orleans but we had to make a trip there for reasons not relevant here. We stayed in Slidell for a couple nights so we could get in and out of the area without dealing with the worst of the horrible traffic in New Orleans.

Hotel was clean and staff was nice. Parking lot is a bit tight if you have a large vehicle, but we were always able to find a spot. We didn't get a chance to check out the breakfast, but when we left early the coffee was already made (HUGE PLUS; thank you morning shift !!!).

The real gem was being just down the street (restraunt is on the same back street as the hotel) from a Mexican restraunt that is AWESOME!!! They have dine in & carry out (we dined in but there was so much food we took two FULL boxes of leftovers when we left). I don't think I've ever had better mexican food.

All in all a good stay.

**only suggestion would be for them to upgrade thier tv package. there wasn't much to watch when we were at the hotel and we had no desire to explore the area; wanted to get out of the crappy New Orleans area as soon as humanly possible**

Felt catfished by the photos- which sucks because we do research to choose an ideal place to stay & in this case it felt random. The photos didn’t match the room. Theres no partition to divide up the room. There isnt even room to add one in my opinion. The room was basically a standard 2-bed room with a pull out couch awkwardly squeezed in. Felt very small for 5 adults. It’s an old hotel & I’ll give them credit that they are renovating/making improvements. The carpet & decorating was new. But it isn’t the new spacious bright hotel in the photos.

Price was very reasonable and they offer cruise parking in the back lot. Would definitely stay there again if we cruise out of New Orleans in the future.

There was a roach in two out of two rooms assigned so I left not having completed even one days stay, however the general manager refused to talk to me and would only refund half of the cost. I ended up having to leave the hotel 2 am and pay full price at another hotel for the full stay. I would never stay here or recommend this hotel. Very poor customer service.

It was nice. The room was clean but had a musty smell. For some reason, we had to unplug the TV to reset it(had guest services do it). Gym was small like closet size. The parking lot was clean and well lit. My only real issue was that breakfast was only served from 6:30-8:30am on a weekend.

We arrived a couple of hours before check and asked if we could check in early. The attendant said there were no rooms ready and if there were early check-in room it would be an extra $50 on a $94 room. So surprised by both no a single room ready at that time at all(several hours after checkout time) and that cost vs room rate. Tho tired we went and walked around the old part of town and returned at check in time. The room was neat but had a bit of a chemical smell. We took a quick dip in the pool(smaller that the pic appears) and cleaned up went out to a scheduled dinner and then checked out and drove home.

- When booking through 3rd parties like Expedia, there is a $100 refundable fee.
- Room was clean enough, didn’t feel grimy or gross. There wasn’t any attention to details like lampshades or the like, but it was fine.
- Room smelled of old smoke even though the hotel is non-smoking.
- Halls and dining area were musty and gross.
- Staff was polite, friendly and patient

Interior designer faux pas, but otherwise GREAT!

Everything about this hotel was very, very good...Except...the closet curtain in all the rooms utilized a significant sized panel of a putrid green color that aesthetically made no sense with the primary colors of the room, and there was no other similar color in the rooms to warrant this application. Time to get another interior designer. Still, I would come here again because everything else was so good

The shower head had poor pressure, could use a vinegar soak, Grab a towel before you shower since they’re under the sink, Make sure you have charger blocks as they don’t have many USB ports as other hotels. I think there was 1 on the lamp on the Table by the window. Breakfast is only 2 hrs 6:30-8:30am Other than that Comfortable bed!!!

No complaints. It’s a typical Best Western. It’s easily accessible to New Orleans (less than 30 minutes) but away from the hubbub. Several chain food options nearby for kids who aren’t into the authentic Louisiana food. 15 minutes drive to a swamp tour.

We saved a ton of money by staying here instead of in New Orleans. We drove to New Orleans for the day and paid around $15 to park in a lot near the streetcar line. This cost much less than staying in the city.

I work summers as a contractor at Stennis Space Center in Mississippi, and every time I’m in the area, I choose to stay at the Best Western in Slidell, LA. There’s no question — it’s my go-to place. Not just because it’s a great hotel, but because it consistently exceeds expectations.

The entire property has been recently refurbished — clean, cool, and very quiet, making it a perfect place to rest after long days at work. It’s also incredibly convenient: close to restaurants, stores, bars, and practically everything in Slidell.

The staff is what truly makes this hotel stand out. Ms. Mary at the front desk is simply amazing — professional, welcoming, and always one step ahead of your needs. She makes you feel at home from the moment you arrive. The whole team is efficient, friendly, and accommodating.

Rooms are spotless and cleaned daily. I’ve stayed in many different ones throughout my weeks here, and all are equally well-equipped: comfy beds, strong and hot showers, reliable Wi-Fi, microwaves, fridges, and great A/C units. Everything works, and everything is well-kept.

The complimentary breakfast is one of the best I’ve had at any hotel — rotating menus with variety, healthy options, fresh juice, and 24/7 coffee available in the lobby. The pool is clear and refreshing, perfect on hot Louisiana afternoons.

Everyone were friendly and very helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. My only complaint is the toilet was very low. We are in our 70's and I have to wear a large knee brace. If the toilets need to stay this low then add a rail on either side. But other than low toilets the Best Western in Slidell was great

The building is dated and in need of renovations, but for the price relative to nearby properties, it seemed reasonable. Related to the age of the building, the carpet was old and of questionable cleanliness. The beds were comfortable though. The breakfast was good - we had omelettes, biscuits and gravy, along with pastries, bread, cereal, and waffles for the one morning we were there. A more expensive hotel would have a better breakfast, but I can't complain for the price paid. For things that mattered (beds, food), they delivered.
