I gave 1 star because zero stars wasn’t an option. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to stay. The “niceness” of the front desk lady is simply not enough to redeem this place. Mud patches on ceiling where insects were building nests. Bedside light fixture had broken off and was hanging by exposed wires. The top of the floor lamp had no bulb and was also hanging by wires. Dirt and grime on the window sill over the a/c. Smoke detector was fully disconnected and on the desk. About 1/2 inch gap between door and door frame. So when the termites swarmed, they basically had unfettered access to the room. Ohhhhh, and upon opening the top drawer of the dresser, we found a used hypodermic needle with no cap on it.

The room had a smell, had silver fish and dirt on the bed sheets . . . bugs flying around , The paint is falling off the ceiling , the digital TV kept buffering . I had lysol spray and bug spray which I sprayed the entire room and got fresh sheets from desk . . . .tolerated the night cause I couldnt get a refund . . . .What a total $ hit hole should have slept in the car

I've stayed in a lot of cheap places but this was the worst. All the furniture is broken nasty and disgusting. No hot water on a Saturday morning. The television sucks. I'm not sure how Expedia even allows this place on their site.

I really love the staff I could go on and on about things but I will say this it’s not the Hyatt are the ritz but it’s safe quiet and the staff is really good with you if you need anything I came in at 4:00 in the morning and my room was ready ready… so what I’m trying to say is if you need a place to sleep and you want a comfy bed for the time being this is the place to come I love Nola inn…

I took pictures and they were so embarrassing. I deleted them. There were holes in the wall on multiple different walls. They asked me to leave a $20 deposit. They literally let me leave without my deposit. I just happened to come back to get it. I was in a room by the office and everybody sat on the steps and smoked all day and night, so I smell cigarette smoking in my room. It was weird.

This room was horrible. Dead roaches and cigarette butts on the floor, the room stank of cigarettes, and the bed sheets hadn’t been recently washed. I woke up to bite marks on my body from a few hours of sleep and left to go find another hotel. I would not ever stay here again.

I stayed at budget hotels many times and never had an issue before. They are normally clean. NOLA Inn is by far the worst experience. The bed sheet had stains and there were bug wings on the bed. I requested for a refund and slept at another hotel. The manager denied my refund request. She acknowledged the stains on the bed sheet however she explained that they are washed. The manager also explained that it is normal for bugs to be in the rooms. She said that I should have removed the bug wings and slept on the bed. Be warned, the hotel is unsanitary and borderline hazardous. I was so disgusted that I didn’t take pictures.

Run down is acceptable. All things fade with time. Urine drops on the toilet seat and lid (!) are not. The site is a health hazard as other reviewers have remarked. I found the manager very polite when we spoke on the phone and we shared a laugh because we kept getting disconnected and thought the other was hanging up on us even though it was out of character. I get the feeling it is not her choice to have a policy that if a guest refuses to stay they only refund one day’s fees.
Take heed when you see that a hotel has a policy of “If you stay longer than five minutes and then decide to depart you will not be refunded.” I was in the room less than two minutes and then declined to stay.

I called several days before my scheduled stay and confirmed a ground floor room. However upon arrival, I was told they no longer had a ground room. The desk clerk demanded a cash to look for another room. I booked through Expedia and even purchased their travel Ins. Neither Expedia or NOLA Inn delivered for me. I don't recommend Expedia or NOLA Inn because they don't do what they promise to do and don't stand behind their commitments. Wheres my refund?

I did not like anything about this property at all. I didn't look at the room prior to booking, which I should have. When I was given the first room, I walked slightly into the room and was overtaken with cigarette smoke. The chair was very dirty and I didn't make it past the front door. I changed the room and that room wasn't as smoky; however, the chair was just as dirty, the lamps were horrible and had bug poo on one of them. The base of the wall connected to the bathroom was coming apart and the water had a dirty color.
I won't ever again, even if Jesus told me to go, rest in this motel. My friend and I had been on the road traveling through and truly just needed a place to rest for about four hours. This was the worst experience I have ever had. We should've just slept in the car!!

My stay was not pleasant at all. They put me next to the boiler room so a lot of gnats in my room, yuck. The microwave was not clean. It was really uncomfortable I want be going back.

Omg this property was absolutely HORRIBLE!!! IT WAS NASTY WITH CIGARETTE BURNS IN THE BLANKETS, STAINED EVERYTHING. I TOOK MANY PICTURES AND WAS JUST TOTALLY DISGUSTED!!!!! If we hadn't just drove 11hrs and looked at the room there is no way we would have stayed there!!!! And the price for that room was an absolute joke over 100 for something that i wouldn't have paid 25 !!!!

We booked a non-smoking room. The first moment we got into our room, full of smoking smell. My kids couldn’t breathe. There are many many cigarettes burn holes in the comforter. (See pictures). The sink is super dirty and nasty. There is a toilet seat in the hallway. How horrible. Worse experience ever.

Arrived having had a prepaid reservation. Received room key, opened room door and beds were unmade, trash around and obviously not cleaned. Excuse was they were remodeling. Sat outside room and watched while room was quickly cleaned by 3 people. Room was still filthy. Only thing were ok with was that we saw them change the bedding. Holes in walls, cobwebs, ceiling peeling, screws in ceiling for who knows what, command strips on the wall for who knows what, even the picture on the wall was dirty. Holes in curtain that didn't close all the way, switches caked with dirt, walls stained and dirty, hole in bathroom ceiling. I could go on. If it there were other hotels available we would have moved. We slept, got up early and left. We were afraid to use the shower. On top of it all, the toilet clogged.

A discredit to the franchise
This is an old property with a real sketchy clientele, pit bulls and all, but the bed was comfortable. NO telephone in room, no blanket, a broken heater/AC, and a carpet that was uncleanable. Nice young girl checked me in in broad daylight through a security window, which certainly made me feel insecure for my car, computers, and my own safety.

When i got there the first room had a back up toilet the next one no A/C, then they put me in one that didn't even have a TV, then they tried to put me in one with no cable??? I'm still waiting for my money to get put back on my bank card, but i don't know if its Hotel.com or America best inn???

The first room I was put in was horribly dirty. It looked as though it has not been dusted or cleaned in months. The only thing that was appeared to have been tended to was the bed. The towels were also grossly stained but appeared to have been washed. The toilet did not flush and when I tried to flush it the knob fell off. I called the front desk and they moved to another room that had a working toilet. There were also roaches in the room and dead roaches in the air conditioning unit. I took photos.

We had booked a stay in this motel, but we did not stay. We walked into the room and were immediately revolted. There was this awful smell, kind of what you'd expect from a very old building. But it was also like the room had been flooded, and they decided to keep the same carpet.
There was duct tape holding a light fixture up in the bathroom. The dresser drawer was falling apart. All in all, it was just disgusting. We turned around and walked back out.

Appreciatively low priced during Final Four wknd in NOLA but yuck room. Location was fine but the condition of the room was ugh. The room space was fine but several things were unacceptable. Glad to have sofa in the room but it was not soft. I sat on sofa and sank in to the cushions so badly I could feel the base boards. The shower and bathroom was gross. And the bed just simply looked and felt worn out. The sheets were flimsy and a few of the pillow cases had stains. The maids can surely see the poor quality so why use them? We did not use TV. Glad to have refrig and micro. WIFI was OK. The room curtain was unhinged and dangling from its base.

I understand it's swampy Louisiana, but roaches should be eradicated regardless. Room wasn't as clean as it could be by housekeeping. Exiting the property to get to I-10 was a hassle. Right turn, right turn, U turn, left turn just to get to the other side of the street. If you are pulling a trailer (U-Haul type), I don't suggest staying here.

If I could give a negative star review, I would. This place sucks the life out of you as soon as you walk up. Dirty, noisy, trashy, scary. Rooms were horrible, walked in, walked out and left. DO NOT stay here. I am pretty open minded and can stand little shortcomings, but this place had no redeeming qualities. By far, the worst place I've ever been. Repeat...STAY AWAY

The grounds of the property was filthy with large amounts of teas everywhere. The rooms were even worse. Carpet wasn’t vacuumed. Toilet was dirty and hair was in the tub and on the toilet seat. One of my rooms the sheets were dirty and used soap left in tub from previous guest

The hotel needs updates to their rooms, false advertising for Continental Breakfast. I experienced trouble with my room key/card not working. The only positive thing I can say about this particular hotel its affordable and its in the center part of Slidell LA and you are about 25 to 30mins away from New Orleans LA.

We pulled up to the hotel, waited an hour before having to go find someone to check us in. We were then told (after paying) that the ONLY room left (that we had already paid for!) was INFESTED with cockroaches. They tried to upgrade to a room that didn’t have hot water. After arguing for an hour we were able to get a refund and find somewhere else that wasn’t infested with cockroaches.
P.S. even the manager recommended that we stay somewhere else. -7/10 experience

This \"NO SMOKING\" room not only stank of cigaretts, there was a pile of ashes between the bed and the bedside table. There were no tissues in the room, no extra roll of toilet paper, had to go down another flight of stairs to get my own towels. Despite the appearance of breakfast facilities, we couldn't even get coffee in the morning. The in-room refrigerator was unplugged -- even the room telephone was inoperative!!

Had to sleep w bedside light on as there was no switch to turn off, just a hole where it should have been. Flies in room due to trash heaps outside. Rusted fridge, broken lamps, broken plug plate ... huge fire hazard ... and the smoke detector was disconnected and hanging from the wall behind the tv. Mattress/bedding was old and very noticably stained.
