We’ll start with what we liked: the room had a bunk bed, which the kids loved, and they had their own tv. There were also AC units for both sections of the room. The staff was also super friendly and brought us a hair dryer minutes after we asked for one.
Unfortunately, there was more disappointment than expected. The bunk bed had visible gum stuck on the ladder, and the bathroom was missing supplies. We switched rooms, and the second room was missing a (or any) trash can and a hair dryer. The bathtub curtain looked like it had mold in one corner. The TVs were set to such high contrast that fair skinned characters in shows were practically clear, and you can imagine what everyone else looked like. The fitness room has a treadmill, and elliptical, and a stationary bike, and three medicine balls. It looked like something you’d cobble together with finds from garage sales and OfferUp to prove you intend to work out, eventually. The water cooler in that room tasted like the freshest ocean water money could buy. At breakfast, the menu offered pancakes that were steamed? Microwaved? Who knew with those stale edges. The sausages were somehow overcooked AND undercooked at different points. The cereal choices were basically a variety of sand flavored selections. One elevator looked like a horror movie style trap, and the other had an expired permit proudly displayed. If this is all par for the course that is best western, I will pass every time. There’s more, but character limit.

We had the suite with the bunk beds and it was perfect! Dad with my son and 2 of his friend's on a SeaWorld trip couldn't have been better spent! And the breakfast was to die for! The boys definitely ate the weight!

Traveled from Las Vegas to San Diego and had a great experience. Everything was conveniently close by food, transportation, and lots of things to do. The staff was very helpful, the environment was very clean, and everything felt organized. Would definitely come back next year!

When I called for a crib morning of check in, they said no problem. However when I checked in they said it’s based on availability, which makes sense but that is NOT what I was told. So no crib the first night. If I had known I would have brought my own. Oh by the way the “crib” is a pack n play.
The floor smelled like weed on my floor, seems they couldn’t figure out who it was.
The room layout of the room is was odd and the pictures are misleading.
One overnight staff person was rude and dismissive when I inquired about the STRONG natural gas odor in the lobby. Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had, will not stay at any Best Western again.

I stayed on the 2nd floor. The elevator to go up had walls covered in cardboard & pool noodles on the rails . The door squeaked as it opened/ closed . Got to my floor and the carpet was covered in plastic , vents were popped off the ceiling . Noticed it was under construction, but it was pretty dirty .. as in crumbled food on the floor everywhere. My room had no hand soap. The bathroom wall had something splattered on it . Breakfast was bland. Potatoes looked like they were just cut up and sautéed with no salt or seasoning. Sausage was dry . Pancakes were cold. Btw parking is $26.

Pillows were flat, not the usual hotel style pillows. Our beds were worn out, one more than the other. I had two queen beds, and a pullout. We did have a very stuck hair on our shampoo, which definitely grossed us out it was even still there after we left for the day and came back to a re-done/clean room. Cleaning staff were all super nice though. Parking is tight for bigger/longer cars inside the structure and some of the spots are in use due to their renovations. Hoping that helps with their future stays. Glad breakfast was included.

There were a few pieces of cereal from breakfast on the floor under the bed. The pool had quite a few leaves, flower petals, and dead bugs floating in it. Other than that, it was nice that towels were provided at the pool, and the room—including the bed and bathroom—was clean, comfortable, and cozy.

Upon arrival, nothing was explained about the amenities, not even mentioned at all at check in.
The room floor was stained and the elevators were not clean and very small. Underground parking which we found out about after further questioning the front desk agent.
The parking lot and underground parking were well lit and clean.
Definitely a kid friendly place!! Not recommended for a quiet night as children were running up and down the halls, but was easily fixed with ear buds when trying to sleep.

Stay away from this hotel. The pictures are not what it actually looks like. The place is falling apart. The elevator to go up to the 4th floor was covered in stained cardboard. Leading into the room was construction plastic all over the hall ways. Getting inside, the shower was dirty. The air conditioning in the main bedroom was not working. The drawer to the night stand was broken. And the carpet throughout was damp. The smell was dingy and musty. Almost left before our night there but didn’t want to lose out on the cost.

The cleanest of the room was very poor dusty now wipe down well and the restrooms were dirty. I reported it. They switched me to another room. The other room had the same issue. I just didn’t go downstairs to report it because I caught the housekeeper to tell her to wipe it down because I didn’t wanna be room to room. The staff was Franny and nice. The breakfast was good. The outdoor pool was nice. It was just my issue with the restrooms. I was very disappointed.

★ I do not recommend this place. There was a bug in our bed first night. Walls are super thin, can hear the kids running/jumping above and kids yelling next door. Walls are so thin you could hear someone's phone going off underneath us. There is also construction going on around the hotel and on our floor with no heads up. Worst stay ever.

Our room was next to a room that was taped off as well as the floor which made our stay a little un easy due to not knowing the situation. Other than that and having to pay for parking I would recommend.

We booked a room with a bunk bed. The room was simple, spacious, and clean. Unfortunately, the window faced the busy freeway, resulting in noisy surroundings, and the air conditioning was also quite loud. Breakfast options were basic and typical. We enjoyed the pool, and most of our time was spent sightseeing. The hotel's location is excellent for accessing various attractions. We chose this hotel mainly because of the bunk bed option and location.

Room was in ok condition. Recently updated bathroom with shower and no tub. Shower leaked very badly and would flood the whole floor everytime. Apparently staff were aware of the issue but didn't offer to move us. Cleaning staff cleaned room but didn't clean floors or change bed comforter, just the sheets. Comforter had old blood stains on it. TV was broken and needed to have maintenance come plug different wires in. Breakfast was below average. No make your own waffles or pancakes, just pre-made ones, cereal options were minimal, yogurt and milk both had a chemical taste to them. Apples and oranges were the only fresh fruit, both extremely under ripened and almost inedible. No variety change over 3 days, only the eggs changed from scrambled to a super gross \"cheese\" omelet. Our party consisted of 3 families, everyone said they would not stay here again. Nothing major was wrong but all the little things added up to say we'd find other places next time.

Plenty of good basic breakfast options inc varied hot items daily (waffles, pancakes, sausage, and eggs). Very clean rooms and courteous staff. Pool was a little cold, but hot tub was perfect.

The main road constantly had homeless people walking through, but never had any problems or felt unsafe with the well-lit streets. It is centrally located in an easy drive to many of San Diego‘s destinations, but not walkable.

Unbelievably noisy. No sound proofing between rooms or ceiling. Could not sleep till after midnight and woke by 6 am with kids running down halls, stomping upstairs, prolly just walking but I’ve never heard it sound like elephants in any other hotel. Stayed for 4 nights!!! People above us changed, same result. Don’t stay here if you have small kinds or relish your sleep!! The only thing staff said was to call them if it continued. We did. It still continued. Plus it’s $26 per night to park. That’s $100 on our bill. Not worth it.

I would have given 5 stars if parking was free and we had a blow dryer in our room. I had to ask for one the next day but they brought it to the room in like 10mins. Breakfast was great..we all loved the yogurt, sausage and omelette..and honestly they had a lot of options for breakfast. For the price we paid it was worth it. I liked that their laundry room is across from the pool area so I was able to throw my laundry in while the kids were swimming. We had the room with the bunk bed in it and it was exactly what i needed for me and my 3 girls. We all got a bed to ourselves. I will suggest to have more comfortable pillows for the queen beds because they were pretty flat but my kids had fluffier pillows and slept pretty good. It’s about 9-14mins from SeaWorld. Overall we enjoyed it..

Overcrowded pool and breakfast room! Stayed here for 4 N and came to an empty shampoo, conditioner and body wash!!! Next day , they cleaned the room but never refilled it again!

There was a lot of noise from the unit above us, meaning that you can hear every step the people make in the room above. We were on the second floor and the floor on the 3rd floor is very flimsy that you can hear everything. It's very disturbing that you can't have sleep at all. The breakfast was ok, hot foods, cheap oatmeal, milk and yogurt pretty standard and sad.
The second floor was under construction and there was lots of dust around our unit on the 2nd floor, it was pretty bad. We weren't told about any construction or repairs when we booked the unit or when we checked in.
Overall, the stay was not very pleasant and we will not book a room here again.

I had a very frustrating experience with Best Western. During the reservation process, there was no clear check-in time provided, which made planning difficult. Because of that, we arrived earlier in the day not fully aware of when check-in would begin.

Later, we found out that check-in was at 4:00 PM. However, when we returned at 4:00 PM—the official check-in time—we were told that our room was still not ready, even though we had booked a specific room in advance.

Instead of properly accommodating us, we were told we could get a different room right away, but only if we paid an additional $46. On top of that, we were also charged $26 for parking within the hotel facilities, which felt like another unexpected fee that was not clearly communicated beforehand.

Overall, the lack of communication, poor organization, and added costs made this a very disappointing experience. As guests, we expected our reserved room to be ready at check-in time and for all policies and fees to be clearly explained upfront.

I would not recommend staying here based on my experience.

I had a very interesting experience. I would like to start by saying that the staff was very accommodating and they did their best to resolve the issue. Without going into detail, I’ll just say that this is an older hotel. Recommendation My recommendation would be to pay the extra money and stay somewhere that has room service.

We waited every day for breakfast at least 15 minutes for pancakes or waffles. You need to separate those items from the rest of the menu so everybody doesn't have to wait. The rest of the menu was very good. There were no seats to eat breakfast. Our room was right next to the construction. It was very noisy. Don't book people next to the construction. Cleaning staff was very polite and attentive. The pool was taken over by 8 grown men throwing a football. Our grandson did not want to swim with them.

Compared to the price , the condition of the room was not up to the mark. we could not use the coffee machine provided in the room as it was very dirty.Also, used tissues found on bed .We expected the room in better condition than that.Also, the parking needs to be paid, it should have been mentioned in the search option of Expedia site. Our stay was good. The hotel is fair, the room was clean and breakfast was quite limited. We loved the pool and hot tub. The location was great. The staff were nice & kind. The hotel was packed for the week and breakfast was not being replenished with 25mins left for breakfast. Construction of the hotel was being done but it did not bother us. We would possibly stay again in the future.

We missed breakfast one day because a large group of school-aged children stayed at the hotel during the same time as us, which I didn’t mind. However, the hotel didn’t seem prepared for the number of guests. Either they didn’t cook enough food or couldn’t keep up with demand. As a result, there was a long line, and almost no food was left by the time we reached the front before closing.

I believe that if the hotel plans to accommodate large groups, they should prepare better so that other guests can still receive good service.

Additionally, the walls and ceiling were very thin—I could hear people running in the hallway and talking. Our room was near the elevator, which made it especially noisy until around 11 p.m. or midnight. I woke up frequently due to the noise, and the air quality in the room didn’t feel very good.

The hotel itself overall was not bad. There was a gap in the door where we could see light between the door and frame. Thus we could hear everything in the hallway. Bathroom is tiny for a family room. There is nothing within walking distance so we had to have everything delivered or ride share.
Breakfast was okay. Nothing to write home about. But the floors were always sticky and the elevators are not big enough to fit more than 4-5 people at at time.

The room was okay, we were directly over the pool so we heard everything going on there too.

Would I stay again? If we had our own vehicle maybe.
Not bad on a budget but expect to make up for it other places.

I had a great stay, and staff was amazing except that the day after I left O got a final bill with an extra charge that did not belong. I was charged 2 of my children, even though I called the day before to confirm there would be no extra fee for them (since they are under the age of free guests). Manager confirmed no extra fee, but apparently left a note for it to be charged. I have been trying to contact her for over 2 weeks now, and she will not return my calls to resolve this issue.

I has to reschedule my business zoom meeting which was a huge inconvenience for me and my business partners. I asked them to move me due to the inconvenience and they denied my request. The breakfast was not great and there was lots of construction in the area. The pool and hot tub were nice however the construction across the street was really loud so I made it hard to enjoy especially during the day. Room was decent however there was construction or some kind of repairs being done on our floor which started early in the morning. There are options to park on the street in front of the hotel which helped keep it more affordable.

Will not be staying again due to too many issues. Shower was luke warm for four of five days. Had to turn knob to full to make temperature tolerable. Wifi was very unreliable so had to use my own data. Asked for replacement of shower drain plug twice which never happened. Initially placed in room directly below breakfast area and had to listen to chairs being dragged across the floor constantly. Staff able to give us new room thankfully but pullout bed was terrible. Areas of hotel were malodourous. Breakfast was average at best. Only hot options on one day were pancakes and scrambled eggs, and no yogurt available that day. Hotel in need of multiple repairs (interior of elevator, hotel room doors, towel bar in bathroom fell off). Outdoor hot tub was warm at best. Shampoo bottle empty and left out, and not replaced. Front desk staff were pleasant and helpful.

The hotel is only 10-15 mins from SeaWorld and San Diego zoo which is why we choose to stay there. It is outdated but clean enough if you are only going over to spend the night. I would not stay there again, the elevator was almost creepy and torn down and breakfast included ends at 9am. And because it's California, of course there is a daily parking fee.

Clean and staff was helpful. Should mention the lobby door is closed from 12 AM to 6 AM. It was hard to find the hotel at night time

We arrived at the property around 7:45 pm after a long day at the theme parks. I was greeted by a friendly security guard who informed me that the front desk staff member was on her lunch break. Due to being short-staffed, we couldn’t check in until she returned. Our group consisted of 19 people from four families, so this was a bit disappointing. Nevertheless, we waited in the lobby and were promptly assisted when she came back at 8:10. The staff member was gracious and apologetic, and we checked in smoothly with no further issues. The rooms were clean and ready, and everything went well. The next morning, around 10 am, just before check-out, I heard a faint knock at my door. I was across the room and didn’t answer right away, but then the housekeeper opened the door and quickly apologized. She explained they were trying to get rooms cleaned as they were also short-staffed in housekeeping. Aside from the staffing shortages and the slight delay during check-in, our stay was pleasant. I appreciated their proactive approach and professionalism despite the staffing challenges.
