Nice hotel, by the beach and with a nice pool. They room was big an airy. Only downside was the bathroom was dated and needed better lighting.
When ordering a taxi, be wary as the front desk orders a private car with a surcharge for card payments. It was ok and nice option, but a bit shady on how they upsell and are not transparent about it

The room had flies and there was hair in the shower drain.
We asked for (and had an email specifically confirming) we would get a twin room but the setup was a bed and horrible sofa bed. When I queried this the man on reception was really rude - no apologies nothing.
The breakfast was awful, I’ve been travelling around Uruguay for the past week or so and by far the works breakfast, terrible coffee.
The other guests seem to all be construction workers and they are so loud coming back in the middle of the night and leaving at 5am.
This is also not a boutique hotel, nothing boutique about it.

This unique building is located about a mile from the downtown area. Overall I enjoyed the stay, however Found the poolside loungers very uncomfortable iand the pool towels which required an exchange of a card to get were thin unabsorbant.

We enjoyed our stay. The building is modern and chic. Staff is courteous. Room balcony sliding doors locks would not work. We were concerned since our room was on the first floor.
It was our second time. Breakfast was good but did not have scrambled eggs and other warm food as they offered during our first time.
It is a very nice hotel. We were in a spacious suite. Great bed. I slept very soundly. Hotel is facing the Rambla next to the river. So you can walk across it, sit on a bench and enjoy beautiful river sunsets.
I would recommend and return!

One night in Colonia

Overall a good experience. Excellent location if you get a Riverview. The sunset is amazing. My only critiques are the following, we called down to have toothpaste and a dental kit which they claim to have available delivered to the room. They said that nothing was available. We went down to the hotel bar to have some cocktails and was told that there was no one on staff to make any drinks other than beer, wine, or simple vodka sodas ect. In our room one of the glasses to make a drink from the minibar still had lipstick on the rim. The location was a good spot from downtown Colonia and easy to access. Staff was friendly and the hotel very clean.

I'd like to return during their summer.

Awesome. We loved our experience at this hotel. One you want to come back to in over and over. It was so nice to have the mini kitchen. We made coffee in our room and watched the sunset.

Careful...while picking up trash on the beach, I got bit by red ants. Be sure to wear gloves if you are one of those \"I want to leave the places I visit better than I found them types\".

I loved the dogs in the restaurant in town.

Very relaxing stay

The hotel was really beautiful, tasteful and clean.
We booked a loft, which is the cheapest room, and it was really spacious and comfortable.
We had a nice king bed, a table, a mini fridge, an electric kettle and even a microwave oven. The wardrobe was also really spacious and it houses a safe.
There's cable tv in the room but if you want, in the 2nd floor, there's a tv room for anyone to use.
There's also a nice balcony in the room with a couple of chairs and a small table. Very nice if you want to have a drink while getting a bit of fresh air.
The room also comes with a heat/cool air conditioner.
The bathroom was very nice and clean. Good water pressure in the shower.
There's free wifi in the hotel but the reception in the room was not very good.
Breakfast is served at the hotel restaurant and it was really yummy and offered a great variety to choose from.
Just outside of the restaurant, there's a pool but we chose to use the climatized one in the underground level as it was a bit cold outside. Also in that floor you can use the sauna and gym. I'd recommend a visit there to relax after walking so much in town.
As for location, it's about 20 blocks from the historical district of Colonia. You can either walk or take a cab (it's literally a 5 minute drive). We preferred this location as it was a really quiet place and it has a great view of the river.

This is a small but not a boutique hotel.. Upon our arrival we didn't get the friendliest greeting ...
This hotel is suppose to be multilingual its not,so if you don't know any Spanish your stuck.
The dining menu was limited and this was the only thing i noticed that was in english the rest was a guessing game as the restaurant staff could not explain it to us....If your using the half board menu this is in spanish only with 3 soups and 8 main dishes which one of them the \"Lomo\" meat they didn't have our for our 6 day stay..
Theres a pool area with sun beds ,which have cushion and towels which you have to go ask for ...
All in all it was very disorganised, it has lots of potential if it was run properly

Interesting and modern design but finishes are not wearing well. Room layout was not optimal - shelves in the bedroom and the wardrobe was in the kitchen area. Very tiny bathroom with no storage. No extras - towels and toilet paper. Had to call to reception for replenishment. Wifi was spotty with the concrete design.
Bed was comfortable and good air conditioning. A short drive to the old city.
Overall, just OK.

A fabulous modern hotel, we loved the design of both the exterior and the interior. Reception/check-in/check-out experience was great. The room was very good, large balcony with chairs and a table, extremely comfortable king bed, the room had a dining area with table and chair plus mini kitchen with microwave, plates etc for 2. Wonderful modern bathroom, very good shower. The room was impeccably clean as was the common areas in the hotel. Good restobar, outdoor unheated pool with lounger chairs, indoor heat pool with lounger chairs, plus exercise room plus sauna. Across the street from the rambla and about a 20 minute walk to the city centre. All the staff were wonderful: I would definitely stay here again if our travels bring us to Colonia and highly recommend to my friends.

The Costa Colonia is a nicely done boutique \"design\" hotel overlooking the Rio de la Plata. The room was very comfortable and the staff was helpful.

The hotel is located about two kilometers away from the colonial center of Colonia del Sacramento. It's a nice walk if you're in shape; otherwise, you'll want to take a taxi.

Costa had huge rooms, very modern and clean. I nice indoor heated pool, perfect for our winter visit. The staff was accomodating but not overly friendly. Great massage therapist on site. The staff were lovely and let us check out late which was very helpful as it was raining and there wasn't much else to do. Both pools were lovely and the restaurant was great. NICE hotel with some traffic noises

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were pleasant and helpful. There was not much around the hotel except for the Rambla. We did use our car, as signts and restaurants were just a short drive away. The only downside to our room was that the traffic sounds were loud. The view from the room was great. Sitting on the balcony we enjoyed the water view and the view of horses. We would stay here again.

Very well designed new hotel with views to the River. Sunsets are spectacular from this hotel location. You will need a rental car to get here from the Port & Old Town. Very good breakfast and they offer dinner in the onsite restaurant. We took a taxi from the port, and when we got to the hotel and realized how much there was to see in this small town the hotel staff arranged for a rental car delivered to us at the hotel, superb service by the English speaking staff.

Very unfriendly restaurant staff who simply appear to dislike their life. Seriously... if they would just fry an egg and smile once in a while the whole mood would change. They have like 3 people standing around reading the paper. Just have one of them use 1 fry pan. 1 egg @ 5 cents per egg. Nothing fancy.
Breakfast is like staring into your refrigerator at home and not finding anything you want.
Plumbing did not drain in sink. Sliding glass door would not lock. Bathroom grout is like a science project. Room size was good. River view was fine. Overall nice appearance. It was low priced and safe.

Good hotel with some quirks. The place is modern and beautiful, but understaffed. The staff are very friendly, but excruciatingly slow. The room was large and beautiful, but had a musty smell that was only partially relieved by air conditioning. The bed was ultra ultra firm. Hard. As a rock. Location is a 20 minute walk from town, which I liked. Overall, the hotel was better than it's quirks.

The Costa Colonia is a beautifully designed hotel - it seems no expense was spared, except perhaps on interior sound damping insulation. The hotel emphasizes coming to stay and relax - but it is hard to do when you can hear EVERYTHING. Around 4 a.m. a staff member was delivering the checkout slips and I could hear him coughing all the way down the corridor. And though, no fault of the hotel's, construction began across the street at 7 a.m. Having said all that it is beautiful, clean and the staff were excellent! It's too bad our trip was short - - we hope to be back very soon!

A great sanctuary, just out of the town centre

We had 2 nights in Colonia on a trip around South America and wanted to treat ourselves to a nice hotel.

The Costa Colonia really is a lovely modern hotel, and seems to be very new. The staff on reception and in the restaurant are so friendly and eager to help with anything.

We treated ourselves to a suite, which was a good move, and felt it was worth the extra. It was huge! With a separate living/kitchen and bedroom, king bed and sofa bed, clean white decor, modern appliances and a big balcony. Very comfortable indeed!

The restaurant did great food for both lunch and breakfast.

It is just out of town, but town is only 5 mins away in a tax, and costs only US$5-7.

All in all, highly recommended for a relaxing break in Colonia.
