I very rarely complain and add bad reviews. I always give the hotel a chance to remedy. In this case a negative review us warranted as a caution to others considering this properly. It wasn't even close to the standard we observed in other area of Uruguay and Buenos Aires.

Awful room on first floor facing pool area. Bathroom full of mold visible on floor, ceiling, mirror, walls and just painted over in areas. Broken closet door, towel rack coming off, very old and rusted finishes. The smell of sewage was so bad we had to keep open patio doors just to stay in there. No help from the front desk to remedy because they were high occupancy so our daughter who has allergies stayed in friends' room for the 1 night. The pool had turned cloudy with a very low water level. It looked very unsanitary and even though it was still packed with people. We were not allowed to sit outside on patio chairs with our own beverages. The buffet breakfast was inedible. This is by far the worst hotel experience and should be reviewed by public health.

Absolutely beautiful location, our room had view over the water heated indoor pool ( it was winter time so we didn’t try the outdoor infinity pool that overlooks the river) very comfortable room, bed and we each booked 60 minute massages at the hotel fitness area one of the best we’ve ever had . The only disappointment was the food and service was hit & miss- some were absolutely fantastic others not very good - could be language barrier? As very few spoke English & while my Spanish was fine in Montevideo - I really struggled with some of the restaurant staff who spoke really quickly and their dialect was harder to understand.

This is the best located hotel in Colonia. It’s a few minute’s walk from the historic town. There are many dining and drink options in the immediate area. The hotel restaurant is very good. The pool is great. Staff are very friendly

At first glance, this place looks wonderful. The room was nice, the walls had numerous small paint chips. The ceiling was repaired at some time and poorly repainted. We had a sliding door handle almost tear off and that was quickly repaired but when we had trouble getting the tv to work we were told someone would come that never did. Additional calls were ignored. Just telling us no one was there would have been appreciated. This was the only time we were in Uruguay that people did not go above and beyond.

The people who work here are outstanding. They were so friendly and nice. The room was spacious but the beds and bedding are the best!! The bed was so clean and soft. I have 4 pillows and slept perfectly with the windows open with fresh sea air.

Plumbing was temperamental. Was a choice between scolding or room temperature for the shower. Most doors didn’t seem to close properly and everyone was constantly slamming them shut (even early in the morning). Also didn’t have the minibar or free bottled water listed on their Expedia ad.

Nice one night stay in this town

We had a nice one night stay at the Radisson. The best thing for us was how close to town it was, we enjoyed walking the town. Breakfast was one of the best on our trip with plenty of options. Biggest problem was the walls were paper thin we could hear lots of noise from other guests. Outdoor pool looked nice but we only sat out for a short time.

Nice hotel in excellent location, the Radisson hotel was very nice. We had a wonderful room on a top corner so views from the rowing club on the far right to the yacht club on the far left. The male staff on the front desk were very helpful but the same could not be said to the two girls, who spent their entire time on their phones and when asked for anything, just got up and walked away, never to be seen again. This happened a number of times---the manager needs to know this. The breakfasts were adequate but the lovely views from the dining room made up. The location was great, walkable to everywhere in the old town which is well deserving of its World Heritage status. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel is very tired in general with pretty rude reception staff as of nov 2019; they will do their job but don’t expect a smile. Rooms need serious cleaning: moldy shower, smelly towels, hair in bathroom from previous tenant. Pool area is partly closed with no fix in sight. Breakfast is ok in general. I would recommend staying in the surrounding posadas.

This hotel is in a great location and has a lovely pool area overlooking the river. The hotel itself is quite dated, decor wise. It is clean and comfortable and has everything you need, just badly in need of a refresh. The staff were helpful and friendly and spoke decent English. I had dinner one evening in the on site restaurant which was very poor. The fish i had was try and bland-tasting, and the apple pie i had for dessert was from the freezer - very disappointing for what was literally the most expensive meal I had in a week-long trip to Uruguay and Argentina. Overall, the hotel is nice enough and comfortable, but it charges 4/5 star hotel prices for what feels like a 3 star hotel. And definitely skip the restaurant in the evening.

Beautiful and incredibly located hotel. Ideal for a short visit to Colonia. The pool and gym are amazing. The rooms are spatious. Views are great.

The only thing I was a bit disappointed by was the breakfast (standard breakfast with pastries and some ham and cheeses, but the products weren't the best.)

Location was good, on the river. However, the property is in need of better maintenance, as well as a good, thorough cleaning. Not worth the $197/night we paid. The door to the room did not open unless we used excessive force on the handle. The second day our keys did not work. We could not enter the room. Two replacement keys also failed. It took the hotel 2 hours to fix the problem. Probably used to be a great hotel. But now it is rather \"run down\".

3 Great Days in Colonia

Highly recommend Colonia, we enjoyed this area maybe even more than our time in Buenos Aires actually, great, great spot! We stayed for 3 days, and I wouldn't recommend less if you are coming from out of country. Great hotel, rooms and view, and amenities. All of the old town is within walking distance, and even the ferry dock is really within walking distance or a 5 minute cab ride. Only downside was our bed was caved in on one side, we decided to just live with it versus trying to fix with management and possibly have to move rooms after un-packing since their English and Spanish speaking staff was limited. Would definitely stay here again, just with a solid not caved in bed, lol.

No English at front desk by most employees and this caused them to be very very very rude to USA customers!!! Do not stay at this Hotel.. Many other better choices in area!!

Great location right on the river with outdoor and indoor pools. Juan on reception was most helpful when we arrived, so very nice welcome, thank you. We visited from Friday to Sunday - as do a lot of people, so the hotel was full, with an abundance of children, which made meal times noisy and not terribly enjoyable. I presume mid-week outside holiday time is quieter.

Couldn't fault the room, beds fine, facilities fine. Breakfast had a good choice of fruits, cold cuts, hot food and pastries/cakes, plus juices and coffee. Restaurant has a good view over the river.

Enjoyed the comfortable bed, pools, and breakfast. Hotel staff was friendly and went of their way to help. Location is great-within walking distance of old part of city (forts, lighthouse), restaurants aquarium, etc. However, we were disappointed by the cleanliness of the facilities especially the indoor pool area where we found dead cockroaches and the Kid's play room. Children were asked to remove shoes but within 5 minutes their feet were black from the pads they had on the floor. Appears the pads are rarely if ever cleaned.

The Radisson has the best location within the historic district of Colonia.At the end of a quiet street and on the river it affords both privacy and water views.Only steps to restaurants or a 5 minute walk to the center of the historic district and within easy walking distance to the ferry the Radisson is very conveniently located.

No reason to use a chain hotel in Colonia

I booked a chain hotel because I was going to be there on New Year's Eve and I figured this would offer the most options for dining and because they have a casino attached and this would be a way to spend the time prior to midnight. Well, there was only one restaurant and no room service or bar service that evening. The restaurant was booked full so no options to eat without leaving the premises. And, the casino was closed for the holiday. None of this would have been an issue if the information were posted on their web site, but there was nothing. Had i known, I would have stayed within the historic district at a more charming alternative.

OK to stay once, but no second time.

Due to the bad weather all roads were closed for several hours.
Same passengers asked for a little extension on check out.
They just told us \"is not our fault\".
\"We can not extend the check out time\".
Showing no care for tourists.
Also the linens were full of wrinkles. They did not used iron.....!!!!!!!!
