This Posado is charming and in a great location. Walk to many restaurants and all the sights. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Not handicap accessible but Highly recommend if that is not a need.

What a wonderful experience we had Posado Don Antonio. The reception was quick and very helpful, even assisting us with our bags. My room was great. We enjoyed drinks on the patio at night and a nice breakfast spread in the morning with excellent coffee. My room was very clean, quiet and had nice linens and lighting. The location is perfect whether you want to go to the beach or to tour the historical spots. Also close to great restaurants!

Wonderful staff, nice , spotless, basic property. Beds were comfortable and the location is prime to see everything. Nice little pool. Extra lounge areas in case you need space out of the room. We felt that the area was safe and parking on the street was fine. Lots of places to eat. Best part of the hotel was the staff. Kind and caring. Made sure we had everything we needed. Side item, air conditioner worked great.

Todo acorde a lo que muestran! Nos hospedamos 3 días con una amiga y todo fue genial. El hotel es muy lindo, las zonas comunes limpias y cuidadas, un ambiente tranquilo y familiar. El desayuno está bueno, podrían sumar alguna variedad más de frutas, pero en general está muy bueno. El personal siempre muy amable. Un detalle lindo, siempre hay a disposición agua y una pava para llenar el termo de mate, y también jarras de bebidas frescas. Tuvimos una muy linda experiencia, sin duda volveriamos.

What a fun historical building and a quiet comfortable stay in a beautiful town not to be missed. The rooms are small but comfortable with great air conditioning. The remodelers took out all the old creaky wood floors and put in concrete in what must have been a monumental job. I didn't notice sound leakage between the rooms at all, but the entrance doors and window are pretty flimsy as required to keep up the look. They gave us actual old keys to the doors which was a fun, but the locks were a bit of a challenge to deal with ;-)

Other things we enjoyed:
The pool - pretty cold, but very nice
The breakfast - simple yogurt and baked goods but delicious
The location - beautiful tree lined cobblestone street with ample street parking.
The bathrooms - had great showers, but could use a remodel or at least more light
The staff - kept the place pretty much spotless. I saw them sweeping the leaves from the sidewalk outside and cleaning the tops of the railings and was impressed.

This is a charming little Posada in Colonia del Sacremento. The location is excellent and the staff are very accomodating. Breakfast is good....continental style and the swimming pool and outside area is lovely. Rooms are comfortable and beds are large. Only improvement would be Tea/coffee making facilities in your room but you only have to ask and the staff are only to happy to help

The location was perfect, in a lovely neighborhood right by the colonial part of the city. I felt very safe walking at night, as it was so close to the main restaurants. All the staff were really nice, and the place is carefully maintained and very clean. Breakfast was okay, but could be improved.

I would definitely stay here again.

It's a nice enough hotel, but I booked the \"Superior Room\" on Expedia because they advertised a queen bed. When i arrived, they put us in a room with a double bed. Meanwhile, there were empty rooms with queen beds right next to us. Now I see that a queen bed is a \"request,\" but that's not what the reservation page said when i booked the room.

I would say to beware of dishonest business practices with Don Antonio Posada Hotel.

Staff are lovely and welcoming, property is a beautiful historic building with all the mod-cons. Dipping pool was perfect to cool off from laying in the strong sun (wear sunscreen! The UV in these parts is powerful). Highly recommend.

There are a multiple of small steps to the rooms, so if you have large heavy suitcases you need to get to the room you will have to carry them up and down them.
The staff aren't the most welcoming in the world, so don't expect too much help there.

The place is beautiful and it has a lovely homely feeling.the breakfast is great with plenty of choices, lovely little pool, reception team are very kind.
The reason for low score is based on the la k of cleaning and the smell of mould in our room. We find ants everywhere and spider cobwebs, also on making our room up they did not change our towels. Change the cleaning side and you will be 100% perfect

The property was very quaint with its different courtyards and rooms. We even had skeleton keys for our doors! We were upgraded to a deluxe room which was a corner room with very tall windows. It was very nice. The breakfast was the best I had on this vacation. The location was perfect also. I would highly recommend it!

Nice location in the old town. But as would be expected the hotel is old. Rooms are variable - we unluckily were assigned a small one in a secondary courtyard. So our experience wasn't that great. Although, we could have gotten lucky and got a better room at a better location.

Common facilities were fine, although nothing exceptional special. A variety of items for breakfast, but nothing hot.

Situated just about 1km. Away from the Buquebus Ferry terminal, this beautiful hotel is like a home away from home for us.

With a large courtyard and a pool, it is really picturesque and an amazing place to rest and retire after a day of exploring the quaint town of Colonia.

The decor is very traditional but elegant, the staff was very polite, kind and helpful. Free WiFi was fast and strong, breakfast was of a wide variety of homemade pastries, sweet cakes, cheese and cold meat.

Our room has a very comfortable double bed, and the bathroom facilities worked really well. Shower was hot and strong, hairdryer and sufficient toiletries were provided for, with fluffy towels too. There was both a fan and air-conditioner in the room, both of which worked really well.

Location wise, it was perfect for us. We could walk to the Barrio Historico, and the outside street was beautifully lined with the famous sycamore trees of the town.

Overall, we couldn't find any fault with this hotel, and can highly recommend it to other visitors to Colonia.

We took the (very comfortable) ferry from Buenos Aires to Colonia and spent two nights at Don Antonio Posada which was conveniently located so that we could walk to all the sights and museums in the cobble-stoned area. The free breakfast was more than ample; the fresh pastries, etc were delicious. BTW: When you exit the ferry station, you need to walk one block to the COT bus station to buy tickets for the bus to Montevideo. My husband watched the luggage while I walked over there. Do this before you head to your hotel/posada. You will see a sign that says Cafe (it's in there). The we took a taxi to our lodging.

Check in was quick, we were early off ferry but room was ready, always a bonus. The room is rather small and bathroom needs renovations, very old and musty. Beds were comfortable and breakfast was usual fare for South American. They do have a lovely pool area, just a bit too cold for us to use when there in March. The staff were helpful.

Not as 'boutique' as some of the advertising might suggest, and the pool is small, but Don Antonio is a likeable, welcoming hotel in a great location in Colonia's old town. Some of the rooms facing the street can be a bit noisy (due to buses, there isn't much other traffic), but staff responded very well when we asked for a change of room. High points: the location, the helpfulness of the staff, the own-made cakes for breakfast.

Note, though that wifi is not available in all rooms, only in the public areas and rooms nearest to them.

It's an older hotel in a historic town ,so wasn't expecting modern but it certainly is looking a little worn. The staff were friendly but not even close to attentive as the staff in the other three hotels we stayed at in Uruguay. Our room wa fairly large but fronted the street so we had noise throughout the night from traffic. The breakfast was just OK. Overall for the price we paid I think we could have done better

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay in Colonia Del Sacramento and we would stay at this hotel again if we came back. Really good location and the rooms were nice and comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast. (I love the South American breakfasts with the cakes, after all we are on holidays!) There was nothing negative about our stay.

The pictures don't do it justice. This is a wonderful small hotel that you'll fall in love with as soon as you walk inside. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms simple, but clean - a little musty - but given the humidity of the region and the age of the building - to be expected. Breakfast was decent. In a great location. Would definitely recommend.

We arrived from Argentina and the hotel is only a 15-20 minute walk from the ferry terminal. The hotel is in a quiet location on a side street. It’s just a short walk into the main heritage part of the old city. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. In the evening we wandered into the old city to eat which was lovely to feel the atmosphere at night and were glad of the short stroll back to the hotel. We were pleased to stay in the old part and felt the hotel was good value. Sadly, it wasn’t warm enough to use the pool which looked lovely.

I spent 3 nights in Colonia in October, but I could have stayed longer. It's a gorgeous place with lots of stone buildings and cobble stoned streets and beautiful large trees. I would love to go back and spend more time there. The view from the lighthouse is great and I loved walking out onto the wharf. The view of the sunset is amazing and the people are very friendly. Colonia has a lovely feel. It is now one of my favourite places to visit.

Beautiful place to spend a relaxing weekend

My husband and I stayed here as part of our honeymoon and only wished we could have stayed longer! The staff was very friendly, and even upgraded our room for free. We were also able to check in at noon! The room was spacious, but we spent most of our time in the beautiful living room area nearby (common area) and by the pool. The pool and patio really sell this place. The whole place looks like it's out of a Greek or Spanish isle, and was the perfect place to relax for a few days. They also offer complimentary breakfast and have two computers that you can use. I hope we can return one day!

An exquisite courtyard.

An attractive and charming town and a very charming small hotel. The people running the hotel are very nice and very helpful. It has an exceptionally beautiful inner courtyard and terraces, with a small, but inviting, swimming pool. As we were there in winter, we could not really use it to full advantage. However, it would be a wonderful place to stay in summer and we would certainly stay there if we were ever in Colonia in a warmer season. The prospect of using this pool and courtyard in summer would alone be an enticing reason for a return visit to Colonia, if I found myself in the vicinity of either Montevideo or Buenos Aires.

Excellent Luxurious Hotel for Low Cost

This is a wonderful hotel, with very comfortable beds, a great fee breakfast, beautiful courtyard, good WIFI, and very close to the historic district. For the value, given the high quality of the hotel, I don't think this place could be beat. However, when I asked the hotel staff for restaurant recommendations, they just pointed me to one of the many touristy places around the hotel. So maybe consult online sources for that if you need it. Otherwise, fabulous hotel!
