Some staff were super helpful and others quite rude!
The parking info is confusing. Parking is very limited.
Bits of the bathroom were broken including the shower head which couldnt be moved to a full shower height

Terrible check in experience. Was totally ignored and I stood there for 15mins, staff was walking back and forth with no acknowledgment to my existence. No smile, no I will be with you in a second. The receptionist Colin was so rude, when I gave them feedback, his solution was to argue with me, and said if he acknowledged me then I would approach him, so best not to acknowledge. Then he completed the check in process and walked off, left us standing there, without room key and passports. Another lady came over to give us our items and apologised. But there was no apologise from him and his manager who also took it lightly when we made a complaint to the hotel.
We travel a lot, but never experienced such service from an apparent luxury hotel. It’s not luxury at all, better off going to a more basic hotel that understands customer service. Definitely will not be visiting again.

Wonderful hotel, lots of high quality amenities. We had two-rooms unit, but very little furniture. As a result we had to live off the suitcases for 4 nights of stay. It wasn't comfortable, plus the look of open suitcases didn't do much for the atmosphere in the unit.

Well the building is stunning and the amenities are quite good. It promised to be a great stay on the booking site.

Tips if you decide to stay here:

- A room below level 5 would feel quite claustrophobic as there would be limited view from the window.

- Unless you book the top end suite, you are in a concrete annex located behind and below the hotel level.
- Avoid arriving Sunday afternoon as it seems the brunch is a feature for the locals making your parking and check-in experience one you do not want to have. An hour queue to get to the desk.
- Service is by request not by nature.
- If you want to go to the town center, take the lift to the spa and exit by that door. Handy when coming back as it is a bit of a hike up the hill. Note that the spa lower access door closes at 9pm. After that it’s up the hill you go.

Overall impression.
The location, building, facilities are very nice and comfortable. It is even quiet for such a central location.
There is however no-one in charge. No one who is there to check that everything runs without glitches.
Service is inexistant unless you actively seek it making this 4 star hotel feeling like a major disappointment.
It’s a real shame the as it has everything to be something magical and exceptional. We did get a terrible check-in but a good check out and some staff members on the night desk were very helpful when we had some noisy neighbors and lacked pillow cases for the spare pillow we needed.

Unfortunately this property did not live up to our expectations. It was a beautiful building and we upgraded to the wellness suite looking forward to the hot tub and sauna. The hot tub was not hot and when we asked about it several times we were told answers that didn’t make sense or that someone would get back to us, by late on the second night we stayed there we gave up. We also asked about the sauna because it did not get hotter than 40 degrees. No one helped us with that either. It is disappointing that the staff team had no interest in helping us and when I mentioned it when we checked out all the person said was “too bad”. We also were on the 7th floor and unfortunately to access those rooms you have to walk through the restaurant and then outside to get to your rooms if you do not want to take multiple elevators and walk down different floor hallways. We were shown this shortcut by the staff team when we checked in and unfortunately when we walked through that area we were questioned by the restaurant staff and patrons dining were not happy when the outdoor door opened and closed. Overall, the stay was underwhelming and I do not recommend upgrading to the wellness suite as it is not worth the money.

We had to refit the trim on the shower door as it was coming off. We waited for quite a while to get served at the bar. Fruit and yoghurt had been dropped on the steps duting breakfast but staff weren't very attentive and it was there for quite a while.

Amenities were excellent. We enjoyed wellness area, plenty tasty options for breakfast buffet.
Service on the other hand was below standard. No one was there to guide us through breakfast buffet options when we came down. When leaving, no questions asked about our satisfaction. Well, I need to put it here then. Shower smelled little bit like a sewer and toilet seat was yellowish from the bottom. Pay attention to details 🙂

Great one-night stay with relaxing spa facilities

Hotel interiors are gorgeous, parts of it look like an old castle (check out the bar on level -1), all built into the rock. Great terrace with a view for your morning coffee. The room itself was spacious, with colorful decor. The only downsides: next to no body wash left in the shower, we also asked for an iron but what was brought to our room was beyond use - super old and stained, quite a shock as everything else in this hotel was of top quality. Spa facilities were great, especially saunas with small windows overlooking greenery. There is uncovered car park opposite for €10 but we chose to park in the uderground car park nearby as it has CCTV and charging points (€20), although rather narrow to get in/out.

Wonderful experience, from amazing cocktails on the terrace, to a dip in the lovely pool, felt special and spoilt by the staff. Very unique and beautiful hotel. The only thing that let the staff down was their demeanour- I didn't meet a friendly staff member during my time there.

Found it odd that you couldn't get towels at the spa, so we ran short of towels in our room.

Good distance to centre of town. Large hill to be mindful of hard if walking.

Car park is tiny and very difficult to get in and out of.

But seriously stunning hotel.

Breakfast looked amazing, a real orange juice machine, the cold foods had dry ice keeping them cool, great selection. But extremely busy chef- one guy for a weekend, and the hot food was often empty.

- they don’t give you towels at the pool. You have to take towel from bedroom
- shower gel had run out
- one of the toilet flushes was broken
- the air conditioning was noisy and only on one setting was it quiet.
- the gym and breakfast only start at 7am. For a business man I want to get to the gym early and have an early breakfast. Why not 24hour gym? Most hotels do. Just close thr pool if insurance is the issue

- some staff were pleasant. ( reception and chef). Bar staff were not so good
- the breakfast was very good including a nice custom made omelet

We have stayed there for the second time. It is a very nice hotel, cool environment and cozy rooms.

The bed and pillows were comfy.

Shower was spacious and with very good soap.

The room was very spacious.

Breakfast had a good options and it was delicious.

The pool was warm and nice.

Bad sides: no offering of towels for sauna, no clear information regarding city tax and we got awake at 06h45 because they were using the cleaning cart in our corridor for 2 hours.

We contacted the Hotel and asked that we needed the possibility to charge our car. They informed no problems and when arriving they hade 2 spots both occupied all night. Also they could we help us out finding alternatives. So the only important thing for our stay wasn’t solved. Would never recommend them.

The hotel is centrally located to the city centre. The main town is within walkable distance. The hotel itself is beautiful. The spa facilities are great. The rooms are very spacious but not well cleaned daily.
We parked in the parking across the hotel -which is operated by the hotel as well and paid half of the advertised price!
Parking in the city centre costs more and it’s longer to drive around to the locations. Easier by walking.

It would be helpful if there was better signposting from the hotel garage entrance to the hotel. I would not feel safe walking to or from the city centre after dark. Hotel is on top of a steep hill on the edge of the city centre. The street plan produced by the city office is not very detailed, which did not help me to find the hotel. The hotel gives guests a much better map

Great hotel, great location but the little things let it down. For example, one small bottle of water in the mini bar for 4 of us and no glasses. when we asked reception for a couple of water glasses in the room we were presented with a 5 euro service charge. Only 1 ice machine working in the hotel, didn't ask for this to be brought to the room as that would be another 5 euros. No towels at the pool, no valet parking, no assistance with luggage, receptionist not knowing the height limit for their own car park etc etc

Lovely hillside hotel

A lovely hotel built into the hillside on the outskirts of the old town. Our room was surprisingly spacious and very comfortable, with a view of the small internal garden area. Excellent breakfast buffet and the spa area was nice.I only used the pool but there are also a jacuzzi,saunas and a small gym. Just be aware, the hotel is above the town centre so walking back is uphill or up a number of steps.

Gorgeous property. Food and pool/Nordic spa are exceptional. Our rooms was also very large which was great for a family of 4. Staff were also exceptional.

We had a series of problems with our room - lights that wouldn’t turn off, air conditioner that didn’t work, toilet that had problems flushing, and a bad odour. Staff tried their best to fix these but it was a bit surprising given how luxurious the rest of the hotel is.

We choose this hotel for the spa and swimming pool. The day we were to arrive we received an email that the pool would be closed to upkeep. It was too late to get a refund and go somewhere else. The children were most disappointed as this was suppose to be special as we had been traveling for days.

Terrible experience if you do not speak french

We have arrived at your hotel Thursday evening at 7pm after a day's travelling on and off trains from Paris with two small children to be informed that your swimming pool is closed. The reason we apparently were not told is that we booked through hotels.com. So to say you had no way to contact me I disagree with completely and it's just not acceptable. The manager Steve after sending a complaint email confirmed that we could have been contacted.

We can use the sister hotel facilities which is 25 minutes walk or 10 minutes taxi. They did provide a shuttle service to use however it took 20 minutes each way for it to arrive and then 15 minute journey due to traffic so added 1 hour onto the experience and all we wanted was fresh shower in our own room so total pain. The time we have wasted and is inconvenient doing this, it's not so easy as just puting on a robe and walking in the comfort of your own hotel to the pool with small children.

We arrive to our room 624, my son goes to the toilet when he screams because something is all over the shower and floor. Ants!! The bathroom covered in ants! Not acceptable at all for this standard of hotel. Swifly changed us to room 424. The next morning Steve the manager apologised and offered complimentary lunch. This was an experience in itself, we where treated horribly because we didn't speak French. After going up to the deck 3 times finally got a chef who was lovely that spoke English and explained menu. Terrible experience.

A stylish Hotel

A beautiful stylish hotel. Great breakfast, spacious bedroom and bathroom with separate bath and shower.
There are two lovely terraces and a beautiful spa and pool area (we did not use that due to time constraints). However the wifi did not work in our room (or almost anywhere else on our floor) and judging by the number of people working on laptops in the reception area this seems to be the case in the bedroom part of the hotel. Reception were aware of the problem, however this appears to be an ongoing issue.
One final thing - if you want to explore the city head downhill, uphill is rather seedy.

Electric Vehicle was parked by valet, but was not charged the next day, despite our explicit request.
We had to spend valuable time charging the vehicle in an external charging station, before we could continue our journey.

Very good welcome from reception staff. The rooms were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The bathrooms were great and with underfloor heating added a bit of luxury. Breakfast was good and the bar area was welcoming and comfortable. All the staff were helpful and pleasant. Although there is no car parking at the hotel, the valet service is perfect.

The pool was out of commission without warning on Hotels.com site. A kindly mAnager arranged for us to be taken to another hotel w spa but this is not as convenient as in-house. I deliberately picked this hotel for some post-operative rehab so it was important to me. Also our room was not made up and they had to send someone in the early evening which was disruptive. Shame because it is a beautiful modernised old hotel!

Even though the room was large there was no mirror above the sink and the shower was small. The hotel is perched up the top of the hill so you need to be fit. It has a good restaurant but the food odour from the kitchen is very strong in the lobby. One concierge (sorry cannot remember name) but I think he was Italian was extremely helpful in finding information for me on Verviers

Highly recommend - great place to stay

Staff kind and really helpful, the hotel is beautiful and stylish. I would definitely recommend to stay here. The spa and gym facilities are also very good. Good location 10 min drive from the train station. The hotel room also had an english plug socket at the office desk, which was extra handy when charging or using two electrical items. The only thing to mention - if you require a taxi that takes card payment to ask the staff to check and request this when booking a taxi for you. I received a taxi that only took cash when I only had card. Other than that everything else was perfect, thank you for a lovely stay.

Good hotel

It's a lovely hotel. Ultimately, though, I regretted our choice of location and wished I had picked a smaller hotel in a smaller town. We had a rental car in order to go to WWII sites in the region, and driving to the hotel proved to be the normal large city in Europe experience, which can be a little stressful for a visitor.There didn't seem to be much going on in the hotel's neighborhood, so when we were in the hotel we ate our meals there. But if you need to stay in Liege, it is a lovely hotel.

Lovely hotel

Beautiful hotel, clean, well maintained, comfy bed. Parking is a bit of pain when you first get there as there is really no where to offload your luggage and check-in - there is a valet spot across the street but you don't know there when you first get there and these are narrow (and busy) European streets. The valet will take your car to the parking lot and retrieve it for you, so that is a nice perk. Good Wi-fi signal, air conditioning (thank God). Would definitely stay again.

Good hotel well situated in the center of Liège

Good hotel ideally situated in the center of Liège, walking distance to many attractions. Part of the hotel is a converted old building that has been nicely renovated. The Spa is nice too. There is a nice view from the terrace. The wing where our room was is modern. The room was of decent size and clean. The bed wasn't very comfortable tho and the bedsheets felt a bit like cardboard somehow. The staff was courteous and knowledgeable, especially at the bar, even tho it felt like they were a bit understaffed. Overall happy with our choice.
