The location is a bit far from popular attractions, walking 10-15 mins will get you to the train stations but it is through or next to a park so feels unsafe at night. We arrived late at 9pm and could only find a McDonald’s and a gas station 15 mins away that was open. Also, our room even though non smoking had a strong smell of smoke. 24 hour staff is present but the later evening and night staff either don’t speak English or have no authority to make any changes or even purchases for drinks. Overall, it is a fine place to stay for the price but not the most convenient location

There was a 10 minute walk to the nearest tram station which made the journey to the city centre that much longer and more tiring. Also such a walk was not pleasant after nightfall and could be very unpleasant and irritating in cold and wet weather.

The property was in a good location, the cleaning staff were friendly. Overall very decent and we had a pleasant time in Vienna.
I particularly didn't like how the staff member on the front desk treated customers. She was largely disinterested and unhelpful. Didn't bother looking up while I was making inquiries and was very curt with my family at our arrival.

The elder gentlemen on the front desk were so lovely. They were kind and friendly and engaging. I was initially apprehensive to ask for anything or speak to them because of how the young woman on the front desk had behaved. But they were pleasant surprise and were kind.

Also - I had to give a deposit of 10 euro in order to borrow an iron - very strange.

The staff were really friendly and always happy to help. The room was well kept and spacious and we even got upgraded to a bigger room than we had booked without them even making a deal about doing it, we didn’t even realised until we entered the room. The hotels location is a little outside the town, but only a £10-12 Uber ride away from everything, public transport is also nearby, along with shops and restaurants etc. Such a beautiful city and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thanks largely to the hotel which was quiet even when we needed a lie in. We would definitely stay here again

Past it’s prime but acceptable. The rooms are clean and the staff are great.

The room kitchenette has a bigger than normal hotel fridge with a sink and two electric burners. The carpets are _badly_ worn and stained. The mattress is close to non-existent and the pillow was only existed because of the amount of fabric in the pillow case.

There is parking in a rather dark and tightfitting garage for 12 Euros a night. They told us there is free parking after seven on the streets, but the street parking is almost always filled.

That being said, the location is nice in that it adjoins a city park, it's a cul-de-sac so low traffic noise, and a three-minute walk will take you to one of the bus stops.

Take the 360 to the opera house. When you return on the 360 get off at Computer Strasse (4 stops from the opera). It costs 2.40 per person.

A five-minute walk along the park path behind the hotel takes you to a good restaurant with a friendly staff called Das Chadim. If you want McDonald’s or Pizza it’s about 10-minute walk, mostly through the park to a shopping area with lots of choices and cuisines.

Absolutely beautiful property and location

An absolutely beautiful place. Even though some reviewers mentioned this place to be far from public transport, this is not the case. You can take the bus 360 to the opera and back round the clock. Friendly staff, spacious room, spotlessly clean sheets. Definitely this will be my place next time I end up in beautiful Vienna. As these guys advertise I felt it to be \" My Home Away From Home\". We really liked the location, which was just perfect for the families with kids. The rooms were spacious, the small kitchen was useable for us to prepare the morning milk or some snacks for the kids but some more kitchen tools would be appreciated. The cleanliness could be better, on our arrival we have found some little things like the dust on the wall or a cosmetic on the floor in the bathroom from the previous guests , etc but as we are working in the tourism as well, we are not these kind of people which will take a photo of every little piece of dust and to post it on internet. The cleaning lady was doing good her job, so just to mention to be more careful with the cleanliness of the room before the arrival of the new guests.
The last thing to mention is the hospitality of the staff. The reception staff might be helpfull and ready to answer you all of the questions you may have, but they barely look at you when you are coming in from outside, so accept the young guy with a short dark hair, (probably the night auditor) , do not wait a greeting or a smile from the reception. Which is a pity, believe me, to feel welcome is for the guests very important.
In the overal, we have enjoyed our stay and if we decide to visit Vienna again, we might stay here again.

Hotel decent location if you don't mind being out of the centre. Car parking 15 euros a night - maybe if you're European this doesn't faze you. Rooms clean, spacious and comfortable although the hallways full of stains on the carpets - a little off putting. Service staff (cleaners and wait staff in restaurant) delightful. Front of house staff - Not a smile, between them. I found this to be so frequent in Vienna that I googled it and apparently it's a 'thing'. The Viennese take pride in being grumps. They provide the service you pay for/why should they pretend to be happy about it seems to be their m.o. ....All except for one super delightful, bearded older gent at the Treasury museum. I think he was smiling for all of them.

Reception lady needed some serious customer service training!! I was met with her twice and she was VERY IGNORANT! Bar staff gentleman was very friendly though and waiting staff at breakfast. Hotel felt a bit 'dingy and old' my room was freezing and couldn't get the heating to work. It was clean however there was a moth in there on my arrival!

Nice hotel with affordable rooms

Very nice room with comfortable twin beds for me and my friend. Our room also included a kitchen with fridge and nice shower and toilet. Cleaning service was also very good. Very pleased that we were able to leave our luggage in depot as we had a late night flight and don’t want to carry it around all day. The friendliness of staff could be better however, just a little smile would be more welcoming. Other than that, great hotel. Would recommend.

Great stay. Lots of free parking but first come first served. Spaces fill up as necessary get draws near. Also, European parking lots are very very tight. Car should be as small as possible if renting. And if you can do public transportation, do it. Also, you must eat at Kent restaurant which is about 5 miles away. Amazing Turkish food.

3 night stay for my wife and I. Easily accessible from the city centre via tram (10 min walk +15 min tram). Good looking hotel, with decent reception area. Not 100% customer service, some people very good, some not so.Rooms large, and mainly clean. Glasses not washed, and dead flies on the wall accompanied our full visit. WI-FI excellent!
The local area is terrible if you only plan on eating/drinking local in the evening. There are a burger king, greek restaurant, and a Mcdonalds about 30 minutes walk uphill, and along a dimly lit walkway. A German restaurant is 2 tram-stops away, but as we found out on the last night, they take cash only, so we stayed in our hotel room. A good stay, but will definitely look at somewhere else if we visit Vienna again. 3/5 is a score given, nothing less, but also nothing more.

SOME Free Parking and No Wifi (when we were there)

Hotel is advertised with Free Parking, it is free to a certain extent.. there are a number of spaces available, not nearly enough to accommodate all hotel guests. Actually there is, but that will cost you 10 Euro. In my book, paying 10 Euro for parking is not Free. So if there are 100 rooms and 20 free spaces, is it still fair to advertise free parking to 80 potential customers? The Hotel is located well outside of city center, not recommended for anyone that is considering walking. Driving is the only option really, or taxi. Hotel hosts tour busses as well which you will find parked on the street level. Wifi on July 16-17, 2017 was not functioning, front desk clerk received numerous inquiries while we were checking in but did not care at all. Breakfast isn't free so keep that in mind as well. Rooms are relatively clean and have a kitchenette but useless for hotel customers (no silverware, pots or pans). Room doors are paper thin, we had to deal with 4 kids running up and down the halls for about 20 min until I was fed up enough to give the parents a piece of my mind at 6am. All in all, I would NOT RECOMMEND this hotel, there are other options more accessible, better customer service, Wifi that actually connects to the internet, and with FREE PARKING that is actually Free!

The Arion CityHotel is 15 minutes bus ride from the State Opera (city centre). To walk there would be a nightmare so do not advise. Aircon does not work. We had a small kitchen in our bedroom (random to say the least) - the fridge did not work so we asked if it could be looked at - nothing done during our stay so nowhere to put drinks to chill.

The bedroom itself was basic. TV channels were all in German - option for a BBC channel but was not available to us.

Staff need a bit of an attitude adjustment. Seem not interested in you as a person - it's just a job to them.

Breakfast - advise on eating out as nothing chilled.

Dinner - again, advise on eating out. Limited menu and we heard a lot of microwaves dinging - the food was not good.

This hotel is about 15 minutes by bus away from the centre of Vienna. The accommodation is clean and spacious for comfort. The local area is quite quiet and has a supermarket and petrol station near by. Good price for a good quality hotel.

This place was not good. In the room next to mine there were fours kids who were yelling and screaming and jumping up and down at night at bedtime. There were no adults present to supervise them. I tried to get the hotel to do something about this several times and spoke to the kids myself. This was very annoying and difficult for me. Especially after a long trip. The main purpose of a hotel is to provide quiet so that you can sleep. Finally after all this effort they managed to quiet the kids for the rest of the night . This room had the separate small beds that one can find in Europe. They were pushed together to make one larger bed with a crack in the middle. This was like two twin beds. This was uncomfortable. The beds were not soft. I would have normally gone to sleep much sooner if it had not been for this as the next day I had to take the long trip back to America. By the way this place does not have a free breakfast as most places . It charges 12 Euros for this. They had a bar and a very limited type bar menu. When I asked about alternatives they referred me to a restaurant about 4 blocks away. When I got there they told me they were filled with wedding and Christmas parties and nothing was available. And I went back to the hotel, this was on a very cold night. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone after this experience.

We ended up having to get taxis to and from the hotel for 3 days because the surrounding transport was pretty terrible, and we expected the room to have a kettle and cups and tea/coffee but it didn't I had to go and ask for a kettle and they didn't give us cups - and there was no minifridge. These are the kind of basics I expect from a 4 star hotel. Over all it was not as good as I expected it to be.

No air conditioning, turned off by horrible staff

The hotel turns off the air conditioning at night when it's incredibly hot outside and refuses to turn it back on. Couldn't sleep. I can't think of a worse experience. Nothing can make up for that. I'd give it zero or negative stars if I could. Horrible place. Wouldn't do anything about this despite the fact that they were made aware multiple times and acknowledged the problem. During the day the a.c. works ok usually which makes the hotel staff that much worse.

Avoid at all costs.

Also you'll have to pay extra taxes.

There is a bus which takes you to center of town or back at 30 minute intervals. I mention this because it is not near a trolley or subway line. Take a taxi to hotel upon arrival at rail station airport - I would recommend just to get you started. We a had a quad room which had enough space. No refrigerator if that is important to you. Staff were great. Room in great condition . hotel next to park area.

Beware which room you get

We stayed three nights, two of these we were on the first floor - in room 108 - this is right above the entrance to the hotel. Due to the broken air conditioning we had to keep the window open and this room was very noisy with the smoke from those outside coming into the room. For the last night we were fortunate to have a room on the third floor which was quieter, much more spacious and lighter - this made all the difference!

The hotel itself is modern has ample parking and it is possible to have a modest breakfast overlooking a park. The staff were very friendly and helpful when we told them about the broken air conditioning during temperatures of 37 degrees at night mid August 2015.

no A/C in summer very hot

Good installations. Good buffet breakfast, the location is OK. It was impossible to be or sleep in the room because the A/C was broken the same for the fridge. Remember it is summer and the temp is over 90. I don't recommend it in this conditions.

I booked this hotel specifically because it advertised free parking. When I got there, I found out that wasn't the case (the underground hotel parking charges 7 euros). I questioned the reception guy and he said \"well it's free on the streets.\" Well the streets were completely full except for a sketchy looking corner spot so I took that. Lo and behold, the next day my car was tolled for illegal parking (I am still not certain on exactly which rule I violated) and it cost me 250 euros to get it back. Now obviously a lot of this is my fault, but the bottom line is: DON'T ADVERTISE FREE PARKING IF YOUR PRIVATE PARKING ISN'T FREE.
