Beautiful room upgrade a surprise so lovey thank you overlooking the pond & golf course.
Breakfast sunday morning a nightmare no staff to assist, had to ask for cups, plates and fresh food as food was not being replenished quick enough for the amount of guests.
Tables not being cleaned away lots of guests waiting around for stuff.
1 guy in the restaurant running around when others should have been more attentive and doing their job. Need more staff or Manager needs to have a word and get them moving!!

All the staff we spoke to were friendly. The pool was a real treat. The room was comfy enough, but could have been cleaner (snack crumbs under the table and obvious cobwebs) and some of the public areas could have been cleaner. There was plenty of choice at breakfast, which was good.

This was our 5th visit to Ufford Park. We are always impressed. The rooms we choose have a balcony overlooking the golf course, are always clean and sufficient for what we need, with comfotable beds and a good shower. The balcony offers extra space during the warmer months. The breakfast offers a variety of food; cereals, rolls croissants, and a good english breakfast buffet. Hot drinks and juices are available. The lunch menu is good, and the diner menu has enough variety to have a different meal each night for several nights. The restaurant has comfortable seating, a good atmosphere, nice lighting and plenty of tables. The staff have always been polite, attentive and friendly. We've never used the golf course, the facilities have an indoor practice range, shop, as well as an 18 hole golf course with many bunkers and plenty of water. The spar facilities are also good. The swimming pool is a decent size, but can get crowded as it's popular, and the jacuzzi is fantastic. The gym is popular with members and visitors, and there are other spa/well-being services avaliable; beauty treatments, massage etc. We did use the thermal spa area once. It was good, but unfortunately at the time, some of it was out of order, and no partial refund was offered. Why only 4 stars? The bar/lounge area has changed over the years. We loved to sit on the many comfy sofas, spending hours relaxing with drinks and cakes in the lounge area. Now there are only 2 sofas left! Apart from that, its all good.

The hotel nicely situated and the staff were courteous but there were a number of small things that were disappointing.
Unable to control the temperature of the room.
Soap dispenser in the bathroom broken.
Mattress uncomfortable.
Reading lights above bed were almost useless.
Only one bedside table.
At breakfast the coffee machine took forever to make a cup of coffee resulting in long cues.

In my opinion this hotel was not up to its four star rating and will not be recommending it to friends and family.

Superior Double room was pretty good and spacious. Toilet seat (a replacement?) a little bit small for the pan😢 no semi skimmed milk sachets in the room, just full fat.
Breakfast staff very pleasant but provisions not topped up quickly enough, always felt like you were taking the last of everything. Not much choice generally, for example of fruit, no grapes or oranges for example. One type of yoghurt. Frozen berries and tinned mandarin a bit on the basic side. One hot drink machine not enough for the number of people and size of restaurant (always a queue) - just having a separate water boiler would help for those just wanting tea. No muesli out on all three days we stayed, asked day 1 and got some, but couldn't be bothered the other two days. Plates for your hot breakfast were stone cold.

It was clean room with a nice view of the golf course. Staff were very friendly and welcoming.
The food in the restaurant was excellent and very generous portions. It was good to be able to use the spa facilities included in our package. Breakfast was good with a good selection of items hot and cold.
Down side was the furniture in the room was very dated and shabby. The carpet in the restaurant hadn't been cleaned from the night before, there was food still visible under the tables and on the floor generally.
But we would definitely recommend it.

upon arrival an hour and a half journey , we were told that there was no running water hot or cold and therefore no heating. We asked why they had not informed us of such and was told \" we thought it would be fixed by the time you arrived \" A pathetic way to go about things . We decided to go back home. Would not recommend this hotel and spa as we have not had an experience of staying there.

There was an error (made by Hotels.com according to the hotel) regarding the booking; we booked a family room but there were none available. However, the hotel put camp beds in a large double room for us.
The room was a bit run down with damage over the shower and marks on the walls/ceiling (dried food?)
There was no shampoo or conditioner in the room but plenty of towels.
We used the pool twice but on the second day, after our swim, we discovered all the showers were out of use so had to take two young children back to our room to shower.
Food was nice-breakfast had many options.
There was a leak in our bathroom on the second day. This was cleaned up quickly but no apology.
Overall, hotel was quite tired and we were not overly impressed.
Difficult to raise concern regarding booking with Hotels.com regarding the issue with the family room (as stated hotel claimed this was an error with the third party we booked through).

Upon arrival was informed that I’d booked a classic room, when in fact I’d booked a family room. The lady on reception advised there was no family rooms available and offered a bigger room to put a cot or put you up bed in it. As I have a 6ft 17 year old, that wasn’t going to work. She then offered a second room free of charge. Beds uncomfortable, hot tap in bathroom sink came away in our hand when we tried to turn it on. Breakfast was limited and healthy options chargeable. Not what I was expecting of a four star hotel? Which is in desperate need of a refurb. Won’t be returning, very disappointing!

Check-in: Very busy at Reception at about 3.30pm but smooth check in with polite & friendly staff
Room:Very comfortable & clean (except for a few cobwebs) No mini fridge but had extra pilows & a fan. Room was quiet & had a great nights sleep
Breakfast: Hot food selection and quality was great, continental quite limited but good quality. Unfortunately the coffee machine was temperamental and didn't really work, we had to use takeaway style paper cups due to there being a cup shortage! Staff were particularly helpful & friendly. Only recommendation would be to have a sign saying 'Seat yourself' as quite a few people were waiting to be seated.
Overall a good quality hotel at a reasonable price.

We thoroughly enjoyed our three nights at Ufford Park. We had two lovely evening meals in the restaurant and the self service breakfasts were good too.
Our double room was warm and comfortable.
Of course Ufford Park is primarily a golfing resort but we used it as our base to visit Sutton Hoo and Aldeburgh, and we spent a day shopping in Ipwich (not recommended) and Colchester (excellent).

A reasonable stay that matched the price we paid for the room. The hotel in general has good facilities but is in desperate need of a refresh.
The food was by and large of a good standard but the biggest disappointment were the staff within the bar and restaurant. Despite there being numerous staff working at any time of the day the service was slow. There didn’t appear to be anyone taking charge and therefore breakfast was a clumsy affair with tables left unclean for far too long leaving guests with no option but to source their own crockery and cutlery. The replenishment of food stuffs for the breakfast buffet was also below standard.

And the room was wrongly advertised when I asked the receptionist they were so kind and helpful with finding a solution - so I can’t compliment them enough.
Pool is very outdated, the ladies changing room ceiling was covered in mould, it smelt of urine. And it looked so dull. Swimming pool, was okay but looked aged.

The staff were incompetent apart from Harry the bar man, the staff lacked common sense and the ability to clear a table (6 tables were dirty, full of plates and glass and one girl was standing drinking a drink and chatting) this went on for over an hour.

The quickness to be served was unbearable at times, zero urgency.

The front of house receptionist was highly stressed and rude to some of our party.

The spa being closed was a reoccurring problem from prior to the stay and during the stay. The manager Matthew stated he would contact me if he was able to get an early check in as my room which was allocated to me was already in use till 12, the receptionist informed no one was in and managed to get me in. Matthew didn’t contact me or anywhere to be found.

The room had a welcome plate of sweet treats however they were ROCK HARD, nice thought however inedible.

Agreed compensation from the spa, the hotel weren’t able to compute this gesture and 5 women were sat amongst dirty tables and incompetent staff.

The pool area and sauna were outdated and didn’t smell nice.

The golf course and golf service was great.
The room was clean.
The food when it came was lovely.
Harry was a legend.
The crazy golf was brilliant.

DO NOT STAY HERE. Booked and paid in full in March to attend a wedding in October. The night before the stay I was called to say they cannot honour the booking. My daughter was already there, having booked 2 nights. She checked at reception and was told there would be no problem.

She checked again in the morning- the day of the booking - and was told that my booking and two other rooms booked separately by my son (who was mid-flight on his way to the wedding) and my other daughter were CANCELLED. Outrageous!
I managed to book 3 rooms on the day at the Grove House Hotel which was excellent. the breakfast was lovely and, it seems was far superior to that at Ufford Park. Have since learnt that this outrageous behaviour by Ufford is a regular thing.
I repeat, DO NOT BOOK HERE.

Breakfast food was good, however, a lot of items had run out by the time we dined at 8:45.
The staff did not appear to have any supervision or overseers.
The golf terraces were untidy with rubbish left unattended.
We initially booked for 2 nights and later tried to add another. They quoted a ridiculous £189 for the above.
PS: Our round of golf on Sunday experience was not good. The fairways had not been cut and play was very slow due to overcrowding and inexperienced Society players
