The Lounge area was very nice, lovely reception staff and great breakfast but any joy ends there.
The corridor towards my room smelt so bad. My room was tired and the kettle was damaged and riddled with lime scale. There was also a very musty smell in the bathroom.
However, the worst thing was that the sound of traffic filled my room all night snd kept waking me up.
I’ve stayed here a few times and never heard the traffic so probably down to the location of my room 😞

Very modern, clean rooms, and nice atmosphere.
Only problem was staff. Mostly lack of. Had to wait a while because no one was there for checkin. After 10-15 min other (friendly) staffmember checked us in. Other minor issue was taxis. There are some great Positives about Novotel Ipswich. It’s nicely situated with the town centre (and restaurants) a short walk one way and the waterfront a short walk away the other way. The staff in the hotel are friendly and reception was welcoming. Cannot comment on the food as didn’t partake. Breakfast if pre-booked was £15.95 pp. there are options nearby instead. We had a room on the car park side of the hotel which, whilst not a great view, was at least quiet. The opposite side is by the inner ring road and may be noisy. The car park has signs indicating that it’s £20 per 24h to park. If staying don’t take any notice of that and instead pay at Reception £7 for 24h. Didn’t see any cheaper alternatives nearby. Room comfortable enough but my feeling was that it’s a borderline 4* and probably a high 3* as services and additions were limited. I found the guest WiFi poor in the room (3rd floor) and the TV

Nice comfy hotel

A nice comfy hotel with good looking reception and dinning areas. I enjoyed my night there. Had breakfast in the morning and it was lovely. Only downside is I requested my receipt by email and left my details @ reception but didn’t receive it as promised.

The quality was poor. An executive room was just a regular room. There was mold in the window. Staff was hard to come by and you end up waiting a while. The staff even messed up my food order. The drink order they tapped the keg dry, decided to replace it, and use the same half from the tapped keg glass to complete my order after stating it wasnt to quality and you cant have it. Only one elevator. No dog amenities and the information about dogs was unclear. You cant leave them alone in the room even if you assume liability and pay for a deposit.

The hotel is OK, it's owned by a cost cutting company. It has no character, it's purely functional. It is clean, the people working there are doing their best. The breakfast offering is appalling, just the cheapest, nastiest food substitutes, scrambled egg out of a pre-made bag and cheap nasty bread.

We had a really warm, friendly welcome from the lady at the reception desk when we arrived. Our room was comfortable & clean. The rooms are big. There's not a hug amount if furniture in the rooms but it exactly as pictures show and funtional. The bar area was nice, very quiet but didn't bother us. We had a few games of Pool which was an unexpected nice touch. This hotel was everything I would expect for the money, if not more. Great location to walk to the Marina where we gad a lovely meal at the Bistro on the Quay!

The perfect stay

Super super clean, helpful recycling facilities, comfortable room, thoughtful touches, modern bathroom. Really really happy - exceptionally good value for money, excellent customer service with the personal touch. Will definitely return. Excellent base from which to explore nearby Suffolk coast. Two night dreadful stay.

I stayed at this for two nights here in Ipswich. The place was refurbished to the current style. There are some disappointments unfortunately. I was first disappointed by the logistics parking vehicles. I paid for parking using \"Pay by Phone\". However, it was found out during check-in, I get discounts. What a wasting money! While the room was refurbished and well air conditioned, the soundproof and the loud door banging by other people threw me off quite a lot during my stay. I had to put the headphone all the time. The sofa in the room was useless. The sofa seemed detachable and not in the wall fully. If it detaches, it could easily go into an injury. Breakfast - I have no comment for this was. I was not satisfied with the food quality. I was also not satisfied by the quality of the service. The plates were really hot(!) and witnessed guests including myself had to use the paper napkins to hold the plate. Why not putting the plates on the side once its warm enough? While the place is in Ipswich, the professionalism was not there. For example, I tried to sort out the parking in the morning of the second day, I waited for ten minutes in the reception, but no body was there. It is important that somebody needs to be at the reception desk should the guests need help all the time. So based on my comments, there are some improvements needed.

Nice and central for ipswich, but not right in the centre about a 5 minute walk from the town centre, the waterfront, and the station . The staff were lovely. The gym was small, but clean and more than enough for a weekend stay.

Found the room was a bit smelly on first entering it, as if someone had been smoking in the room before.

Nice hotel, very good location. Staff relatively friendly. However, was woken up two days in a row from 8.30am due to drilling and DIY work on my floor. I understand the work has to be done and it was midweek. But at least think about the guests and start loud drilling a bit later

On arrival, we were given the wrong room. This was rectified however the room we were given had a terribly strong unpleasant smell. It came from the drainage. The hotel staff spray air freshener but this only masked the smell for a short anount of time.
We were offered complimentary breakfast for our inconvenience.
The size of our room was great and the staff did the best they could but overall the stay was very underwhelming.
I will add that the staff at breakfast were particularly welcoming.

The hotel is tired with dirty carpets. The customer service at check in, reception and the bar were not very good. No expected added extras such as shower caps, water etc in the room. Stayed at Novotel in Leeds and it was lovely.

Would eat/drink here but not sleep.

Staff were lovely, the lobby was warm and welcoming and the bar/restaurant were very comfortable. In regards to the room - the main shower head was very obviously in need of replacing or at least cleaning and there was a noise coming from above us that sounded like a washing machine which started in the evening and ended in the morning, I only slept a few hours because it kept me up. I tried Novotel because I fancied a change from our usual hotel choice but I don't think I'll go here again.

The room was a good size with plenty of faciities. I must admit though that the separate toilet was not ideal, especially as there was no hand basin in there. The bed was quite hard but not too bad. Our fridge was not working, the coffee machine only had decaffeinated pods and the safe door was stuck shut. Once reported to reception all were fixed very quickly. We were disapointed that the beer pumps were not in use at the bar as they were charging over £4 for a tiny bottle of lager. We only had one drink there! Breakfast was ok although the orange juice was so watered down it had no flavour. We probably would not stay again because we probably would not go back to Ipswich, Other Novotel's we have stayed in have been better.

Loud party in room next door. A mini bus had recently arrived with scantily-clad girls who then went up to the room next door. Loud laughter and party came from the room.

A wonderful stay but my friends & I (we occupied at least 7-8 rooms) would have enjoyed it even more had more bar/restaurant service been available to us.

On the day we all departed 23 June, we couldn't buy a coffee nor food as they couldn't except cards for payment.

The hotel lost out on revenue as 6-8 of us wanted lunch & drinks.

Otherwise a perfect stay. I'd stay here again
