I will only speak of the condition of room 107, other rooms may not have been in the same shape. The room stunk, there were bugs, the shower was plugged with hair and wouldn’t drain, there was a loose belt (?) that squeaked all night long. If I would have stayed for more than one night I would have checked out and went somewhere else. I checked out too early to try the morning breakfast. The location was super.

The room did not appear as it was on the photos available on the website. The reservation said a twin bed but it was a small single bed. The room was very small. The service was however very good and very friendly. I got used to the very narrow space. The price was good.

Positives
1. Staff were all very nice and helpful. Francisco helped us bring in our luggage from the car.
2. The location is mostly a negative. But the area is nice especially if you enjoy shopping for antiquities, jewelry, and handmade goods.
3. The AC worked and kept the room cool.
4. Iceland's ice cream, Cafe del Árbol, the little bakery down the street (both bakeries we're awesome), and Starbucks was not bad.

Negatives
1. Noise: the hotel is directly in front of Plaza Dorrego. Every night something was happening and our room faced the plaza. We literally had the worst room. We did not sleep most of the three nights. We started with drunk guys partying to all hours or drumming.
2. It's a small hotel with so-so amenities. The shower leaked everywhere and didn't drain properly.
3. The toilet paper is thin, single ply.
4. The breakfast left a lot to be desired. You're better off going to Starbucks or better yet, pick up a pastry from the bakery down the street on south defensa and a cafe at Cafe del Árbol. Avoid Birra Bar (expensive and food is awful). The pizza place downstairs is overpriced and not very good.
5. There are so many mosquitoes!
6. There is mold in the shower and most likely the room.
7. It's a budget hotel, so buyer beware.

The staff was friendly and helpful speaking both Spanish and English. Breakfasts were simple and intimate. We tried a different restaurant every night for a week and all were within a block or two. The street fair on Sunday was bigger than we expected and made it hard to get an Uber to the Airport. The staff was very accommodative and let us stay in the lobby until the street opened to traffic.

My rating is based on one thing - there was essentially no wifi in my room. The reason for this is that they have one router on the floor and my room at the front of the building was simply too far from it to make any kind of acceptable connection. The only way I could make a connection with my laptop was by sitting on the floor in front of the door - if I moved only a few feet away to the desk there was no connection. My cell phone wasn't much better, what connection it could make was very weak/slow, and especially upstairs in the bedroom. They gave me another access point which worked - for about a minute and then was useless after that. The reality is they know their system doesn't cover the building but just won't do anything about it, so they're getting this rating. Otherwise, the room was fine and the location couldn't be better, although it was a loft and one has to deal with the stairs. The breakfast was mediocre at best, just bread, croissants and cereal, with a juice, yogurt and canned mixed fruit and coffee, but it was functional. The people were nice. So the place was fine, if you don't really care about internet or are willing to go out in the hall when you need it. I'm not one of those people.

The \"standard\" rooms have no windows to the outside and receive very little natural light. Windows in other rooms are also small. Bad smell in bathroom from the drain. \"Standard\" room was very small with no desk or chair.

Location is excellent. Staff generally friendly. Continental breakfast is good. A/C worked well. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom were good. WiFi worked with only brief minor problems. \"Deluxe\" rooms were entirely acceptable. Reasonable price.

Great location, but beware ATM’s

Great staff, particularly Constanta, who loaned us a Sube card for the duration, which gave us cheap fares.
Location is excellent, (on Plaza Dirriega which has great atmosphere from 10am to 10pm - we even saw Tango dancers on Saturday morning, but Sunday has a big market). We had no problems walking around the local area - went to a Millonga about 500 meters away at 10pm and walked back after midnight, admittedly along well-lit streets.
The only gripe was the bad drain smell in the room as soon as you enter, (but do not notice it after a few minutes).
breakfast was very nice.
It was also about 15 minutes walk to the metro, which could be a chore after a long day, but taxis were cheap.
A real problem with Argentina that I did not appreciate is the really expensive ATMs that can charge over 400 pesos for withdrawing 2000. They have a limit and I was never able to get more than 3000 pesos and that was only once.
strongly suggest you bring the cash you will need.

Great place, perfect for what we wanted- a safe, well located, good value stay in Buenos Aires.It's right in San Telmo amongst many restaurants. We walked to Puerto Madero and the nature reserve very easily. We had a smaller room (our choice) with only an internal window- it was fine for us and there are other choices if you want different facilities. The staff were lovely and helped us with recommendations and also sent laundry out for us. We definitely recommend this place- thanks!

The location was just great, with the square right at your front door. The locals came out to dance on the Sunday night and the weekend market was right at the front door too. The staff were very helpful and had good English. We walked from here to catch the ferry to Uruguay which was also helpful.

Super location! My room (103) was small but ok for a short stop.

The mattress is in terrible condition and the sheets are really tired. Breakfast is... the minimum. If you fix those 3 things, you gonna have one of the best place to stay in San Telmo ! Invest a minimum, you’ll see how your next customers will appreciate.

Perfect Location

Located on the main square in San Telmo which is great for the local bars, restaurants and food/antique market. We booked to stay at this hotel twice on our holiday to Argentina. The main reason for choosing this hotel was so we could leave some of our luggage whilst travelling to other parts of the country. On our first stay we were given room 202 which overlooked the square which in the early evening was particularly pleasant as we were able to enjoy the music of the tango. On our second visit we were unable to get the same room but the room we had was equally as nice just missing the music!

The staff were very friendly and helpful with any questions we had or assistance in booking trips/taxis. We had a small problem when booking a day trip to Colonia which Constanza was happy to contact the company to make sure we got our tickets. She completely sorted it all out whilst we were able to continue to enjoy our time in Buenos Aires.

We would recommend this hotel for location and staff. It really did make our stay in Buenos Aires perfect.

There was no air conditioning in the lobby and hallways when we arrived in evening. The hotel regulates air conditioning ( it was set at 24° ). I had to beg to get it lowered to 21°. There were no glasses in room to rinse after brushing your teeth. The bathroom sink is almost flat ( so when you rinse after brushing your teeth; the water splashes onto you ). There is no ice available at hotel. We left 3 days early ( because we were not happy there ). But the hotel did not refund any money for the remaining 3 days we did not stay there.

Very kind staff (Constanza) who helped me with a Spanish-speaking phone call to the airline. Great location as the Sunday market was right outside the door. This did mean the taxi had to drop me off a street before the hotel and I had to walk the last bit. Not a problem for me, but might be an issue if you’ve got loads of luggage.
Would stay there again for a similar short stay as quiet overnight as had an inside room (although no window - due to my budget).

This is very good hotel in very good neibourhood

The hotel is good. The breakfast is all packaged jams and cream cheese and toast and coffee. Try one of the best restaurant for BBQ in the 2nd block from hotel in defencia. You do not miss sick you can see the BBQ from outside and it is busy with locals.

San Telmo Boutique Find!

This was a find in a beautiful part of the city. Easy accessibility to attractions. All of the staff were amazing! We were given fabulous recommendations for eateries as well as helpful directions navigating the buses. A satisfying breakfast was served every day. The only complaint I had was that the thermostat in our room didn't function properly even though staff graciously tried to fix it. Also, our room was above the busy street so noise and fumes wafted into the room which was unpleasant. However, the street did quiet down by midnight.

I really like this hotel, for the location, staff and quiet and clean. On this visit the room I had was split level which was nice but there was a large window which could not physically be accessed to close so the mechanical ventilation noise could not be shut out. It was not loud or rattling though so no real problem. Both this room and room in previous stay have tiny shower and have to open the door if you need to pick up soap! But good water pressure and temperature and clean, and good towels so again, no big drama...

A great place to stay in historic San Telmo

We had a great stay at the Telmho Boutique Hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable, breakfasts were generous and tasty, and the service was excellent. Particular mention must be made of Daniel's helpful, friendly advice and support. Our only suggestion for those considering staying at the Telmho would be to think about which room you request. Our room was at the front, with a balcony overlooking Plaza Dorrego, so we had a great view of all the activities in the Plaza, including regular tango performances. But it was a little noisy at night. Our stay included a Saturday night and the loud music went on into the wee hours of the morning! Otherwise, the hotel was great, and we would certainly recommend it.

Decent hotel in the heart of San Telmo

The hotel is centrally located in the heart of the bohemian suburb of San Telmo. The room was ready earlier than expected which was a treat. Everything was in walking distance, we walked to La Boca, we walked to a couple of museums and we were treated to tango in the square viewed from our balcony.

It is in a very quaint little area

If you are like my wife and I, you will love this place, it is small but nicely done. the part of town that it is located in is San Telmho, and has a lot of history. there are a bunch of antique shops all around, and in the afternoon usually around 4 you can sit in the little square and watch people dancing the Tango, and Sundays... Put you walking shoes on and walk about 20 block of hand made tent markets, it is fantastic.

Great Service, Safe and fun neighborhood. Close the main street there Defensa for people walking (and watching) on Sundays, the plaza is replete with all sorts of craft, antique and art wares for sale, good bars and eateries all around.modest pickup shuttle from the airport, rooms are great. I had two rooms 204 and 202, same floor as breakfast and check in, both good, the latter has a balcony with a great view overlooking the plaza, EXCELLENT, and they have baggage storage after you check out you can go enjoy the Barrio and come back for your bags later, 12 minute walk to casino, 5 minute walk to Puerto Madero. Great fee; highly recommend.

Check Room Size Before Booking

Room was clean; but very small. The hotel charged $50 per night for a closet (enough for a twin sized bed) with a restroom. With the taxes, etc. I paid $70 for a closet you might expect in New York, but not in Buenos Aires. My recommendation would be to visit the hotel prior to staying here. Service was great and they wanted to accomodate me. Breakfast was nice - one could decide between yogurt, fruit (canned), eggs, and toast. They can make gourmet coffee drinks there. There are no other luxuries available.

A very nice boutique hotel

After a 12-day cruise, we arrived to this hotel full of luggage. If we have not complain, the room assigned was so small that we probably have to sleep on top of our luggage. However, the clerk corrected the situation and assigned us to another larger room. Room were clean, the breakfast was ok and the area of the city have much to offer. The only problem is that at night the plaza across the street become very lively with music and noise non-stop until 4 or 5 in the morning. The owner and the desk clerks are very courteous and give us lots of good suggestions of what to do around Buenos Aires. Buenos Aires is and should be a great city, but the economy have taken a toll on everything. The streets, buildings and everything appears neglected, and crimes is on the rise.

Great location for a BA stay

We chose this hotel based on the Trip Advisor reviews and it did not let us down. The staff went above and beyond in terms of helping us plan our days and get off the beaten tourist track. Their English is excellent. The location was excellent, for those who like to walk it is easy walking distance to Plaza de Mayo and Puerto Madero. Good restaurants are within a few blocks. Our room overlooked Plaza Dorrego which allowed us to watch the impromptu tango from our balcony. We plan to stay here again on our future trips to BA.

Great location, great space, great staff, great experience. I stayed for 9 nights and the 1st night was as good as the last. The staff was friendly, extremely helpful, and efficient. The room and the common areas are kept impeccably neat and clean, and the made-to-order breakfasts were the best way to start my days off. Wifi was solid and dependable. Lots of great food options right on Plaza Dorrego, and even more within short walking distance. Highly recommended!

Great Location and Service

I stayed seven nights during winter (August). The receptionists were all very friendly and helpful with providing information about restaurants and other shops. The location is ideal - situated across the street from the Plaza Dorrego (with a carnival-like atmosphere on Sundays - big market all along Defensa ave during the day, and outdoor Tango dancing and drum bands on Sunday evening) The hotel is clean and stylish. The rooms are split 2-level suites. I had the back room of the building, and while quiet and removed from the street/plaza noise, there was some unexplainable pounding noise at times (though distant, enough to wake you up in the morning). The suites are small, and the bed is just a single bed, so though comfortable, be sure to check the bed size if you're expecting a double. Large-screen TV is in the upstairs bedroom, so don't expect to watch TV from the very comfortable sofas. Bathrooms are small yet clean. My room had a shower only, without a bath. Breakfast is simple (toast/pastries, coffee, juice, eggs/fruit upon request) but fine. It goes until 11, which may not be late enough for BA's late-night schedule (dinner often at midnight). There are numerous excellent restaurants, coffee shops, pubs, Starbucks nearby. More exciting bars/nightlife are in the Palermo area, so if you're looking for that, this is a better day location. Security was basically fine in the area. Thanks to the Telmo Hotel Boutique for a fine stay!

Great Hotel in San Telmo

This hotel was well situatied on Dorrego Square, the perfect place to get dinner, relax with a beer, watch Tango, or just people watch. Its also the prime spot for the huge market on Sunday's. The front staff was excellent and spoke english well. The breakfast was good, and they offered eggs, incase you need something more than a medialuna or toast. The roof top terrace was amazing and a great place to relax and have a glass of malbec :) I would definetly stay there again.

The hotel location, service, comfort and cleanliness was fabulous! My only comment, and it didn't bother us at all, is that we had a loft-style room with the bed upstairs. This wasn't disclosed ahead of time and some people may have trouble with the stairs and/or using the facilities in the middle of the night downstairs.

Right in the middle of BA cultre

One of the best hotels to experience the real BA. Beautiful location, loads to see and experience and get a real feeling for the city, tango and spirit. Might be a bit noisy during the night, but again you can not have everything life and happening just in front of your doorsteps or quietness.
Staff is very welcoming and breakfast is very good. Rooms were clean, spacious and we even had a balcony which was amazing to sit outside with a glass of Malbec and watch the world go by. Would definitely go back.

Great place to stay in San Telmo

Even though I only stayed twice between flights for one night this hotel was very good. Each time I stayed I was in a split level room with double bed upstairs and bathroom,desk and daybed (or extra single) downstairs. There were 2 efficient air conditioners ,upstairs and downstairs which were welcome. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The windows are quite small but if you are out and about during the day what does it matter. The breakfast was quite good - continental but with brewed coffee. The staff are very helpful and didn't mind storing a small bag for me whilst away for a few days. Didn't have a chance to explore the local area but the hotel is opposite a little square with restaurants.

Telmho Hotel Boutique - heart of San Telmo

This hotel is right on the plaza with the Sunday \"antiques\" fair. On Sunday, for blocks and blocks, there are booths selling all types of merchandise. Most of the rooms at the hotel are two-story. Bedroom upstairs - bathroom, closet, and desk are downstairs. Would be tough if you have any infirmities. We are in our 60s and were old enough to be the parents or grandparents of the other guests. The front desk people had excellent English and were very helpful (they also serve the custom breakfast). Hotel is great - neighborhood is gritty. You have to be buzzed in, giving your room number. We stayed in the Recoleto neighborhood first, which I prefer over San Telmo.

The hotel is an an excellent location in San Telmo and only a short walk to some great restaurants and bars. The staff were extremely helpful giving tips on where to go to places in BA that you wouldn't otherwise look for.

Telmho Hotel Boutique

Maxi and Diego provided great and friendly service and were very knowledgeble about the city. Very convinient location,close to many must see sights,subway and bus stops. Great breakfast with many things to choose from. Bar fridge in room did not work but the guys helped us with theirs. Clean and tidy. The terrace on the third floor is amazing, great view and relaxed. Dorrego square can get a bit loud on busy weekends but it´s no big deal.

Good Choice for San Telmho

This is a lovingly renovated small hotel, reasonably priced, right on Plaza Dorrego. The rooms are small but cleverly designed and with everything you need. The big problem is the noise. Our first room was on the 1st floor right on the square and on the main street of San Telmho, Defensa. It was fine on Thurs. night. but not Friday and Sat. when the square comes alive. (There was loud rock music until 3am!) We moved to a back room which was 2 stories (bad if you need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night) and was much quieter but had no accessible window to open, but was much quieter. Breakfast was okay but didn't start until 8:30, which was late for us early risers. Warning: this hotel is not near any subway lines. Also, do not plan on grabbing a cab on a Sunday as the square is all pedestrian and packed with people and vendors.

San Telmho Boutique Hotel - what a location

Stayed at the San Telmho boutique Hotel for 3 nights upon arriving in Buenos Aires. Very easy to find and a great neighbourhood - all cafes, restaurants and antique shops!

The hotel was comfortable and very good quality for the price. My last night was a Friday night and the place got a lot noisier - needed ear plugs to shut out the noise of the neighbours but that can happen anywhere!

The NUMBER 1 place to stay in Buenos Aires!

Absolutely fabulous hotel! The staff were professional, friendly and so helpful from the moment we arrived. We had the most beautiful room with the balcony looking across the square where we watched tango dancing in the square the afternoon we arrived. It's location is in the most beautiful part of Buenos Aires, right in the middle of the San Telmo district. The square outside the hotel was a hub of activity throughout the whole of our stay from playing host to cafes and restaurants during the day and evening, to tango dancers and bands at nighttime and the markets at the weekend. Just a short walk from the Plaza de Mayo and Casa Rosada. The shops around the area were great, from art galleries to craftshops and cafes. The choice of restaurants in the area is also amazing. Highly recommend this hotel!

Great location, great service, but...

We really enjoyed our stay. It's a nice boutique hotel, clean, neat, very nice staff. Only problem was that our room, on the first floor, was facing the street, and it was very noisy much of the night. One weekend night, a group of drunk people threw bottles on the ground and at the hotel's wall and it was kind of scary... However, despite this it's a great location and a very nice hotel.

Very nice/friendly hotel in the middle of San Telmho

Telmho is a very nice hotel with very friendly staff.
We had a very nice room in two floors that we stayed in for six nights.
The breakfast was very good, with \"the best coffee\" in Argentina.
The location is very close to some good restaurants and it takes 20-30 minutes to walk into central BA.

Pernoite entre vôos com ótimo custo benefício

Prédio antigo, mas com o interior reformado, e conforto condizente com um hotel 3 estrelas. Pessoal da recepção bastante atencioso. Como nosso vôo chegava às 23:40h no AEP, avisamos com antecedência por e-mail, e o pessoal estava nos aguardando para o late check-in.

Muy bueno para viajes fugaces

Muy buena estadia de una noche con una amiga. Muy bien ubicado para dar vueltas por san telmo, puerto madero y zona de casa rosada. Las instalaciones impecables tanto para aseo como para descansar por la noche. Recomendable para viajes fugaces!

Quarto com piso cimentado Muito frio. Nenhuma ventilação porque não se pode abrir as janelas muito baixas com exposição pra rua. Muito pouco conforto. Tive que pedir pra ligar a água quente pro banho, porque desligam 😱. Fiquei no 201.pequeno almoço com pouquíssimos itens. Só café/leite/croassan/ manteiga ( não tem nada de frutas) NÃO VALE O CUSTO E BENEFÍCIO 😬
