Cancelled without warning

when I arrived, the hotel was locked and I was told I was rebooked at a \"sister\" hotel for the same price (lie). I thought she told me she was paying for a hotel to get us there (she didn't speak English, and my Spanish is only so-so); only to find out our cabbie requesting money at the end (no cc, and I had no pesos). The whole event was exhausting and a bit scary (as we had no idea where the cabbie was taking us).

Great price and location, a block away from Casa Rosada and the cathedral among other attractions. Situated right next to the metro. Lots of dining options around.
It’s an old building with some updated features. The elevator is tiny and a little Claustrophobic. Breakfast is included but is VERY basic and has very few options, no hot food is provided and is exactly the same everyday. If you are staying more than a couple days, this is an issue.
Staff is friendly and helpful.
I have stayed here on business and it’s fine for a short stay. All in all good value for an economy hotel.

The location is superb. Never felt unsafe in this area, nor anywhere in Buenes Aires, actually. The rooms are fine; however, the rooms on the 9th floor near the service elevator and the AC blowers are LOUD! After three nights they gave me another room. So, if they give you a 9th floor room, kindly ask for a different room. The staff was fantastic. And as far as breakfast, I thought it was fine. I was a first-timer to Buenes Aires. I would stay here again, just not on the 9th floor!

The air conditioning in my room never worked and it was hot and humid. The man at the front desk was very nice, but didn't realisticly address the problem. The heat was a deal breaker for me.

At breakfast the coffee was very good. The buffet was mainly pastries, no eggs, etc. Not to my liking.
Location is very convenient to things.

Except AERO-GARBAGE-MEXICO lines they changed my flight over than 5 times with lay over more than 24 hours, the hotel was not bad.
Little bit noisy because of main air conditioning compressor, i asked to change the room and they accepted after i selected and paid for this option.

This hotel is located very close to Plaza de Mayo, 2 blocks away if you make a right, and the Obelisk, 5 blocks to the left. It is very close to the metro station. Calle Florida is 2 blocks away, also Cafe Tortoni if you are willing to stand on that long line to get a table. There are many places to eat around it. The area feels safe. They also exchange money and the rate is very good. The rooms are small, the breakfast is simple but the staff is very helpful, they are great and very friendly. I will definitely return and recommend this hotel.

Basic hotel for tourists, it lacks a bit of care. The best of the hotel ... LOCATION! Steps from Plaza de Mayo. Good continental breakfast (breads, ham, cheeses, cornflakes, coffee, fruit among others) Cons- the air conditioning despite multiple attempts to request in front desk to be lit in the room never happened. We had to sleep with the windows open so that the temperature was comfortable. Comfortable bathroom with hot water. It was seen that there is remodeling work in the hotel so you can expect improvements in the structure and maintenance of the rooms.

The hotel is very close to the attractions in Buenos Aires. The cathedral, Plaza de Mayo, Casa Rosado and subway stations are just walkable from the hotel. The location is also safe for the tourist. The hotel is clean as always. The staff are always helpful in many ways. The check in and check out were fast. I would like to recommend this hotel to my friends who are going to visit Buenos Aires.

Excelente location in the center of historic downtown. Beds are the most comfortable of hotels in the area. A huge plus is that front desk is very accommodating in letting you check in before check-in time. Great courtesy!

The check in was a man who was mean and treated us like we were not welcome to stayed in the hotel. Just one man with bad attitude ruined the front desk’s service.
The housekeeping team never clean de room and I’m asthmatic. We always have to call for shampoo and conditioning. Sometimes they want us to share the towels.
Just at the check out when we were leaving was an old man who was very nice .

Unfortunately we both arrived sick so didn't see much of Buenos Aires. The staff at the hotel were very kind and helpful to our situation. I wouldn't rate this as a 4 star hotel only a 3 as the decor was dated and the air conditioning not working which was unfortunate as it was very hot.

great location, good price, excellent service,

a group of us booked into this hotel as we were attending a nearby meeting and we wanted to stay on over the weekend and complete our document output. From photos on the web, the lobby looked appropriate for this purpose and the price was reasonable for those of us on NGO budgets.
The staff actually allowed us to stay in the breakfast room (normally closed after 10 am) and work all day Saturday and Sunday which was a lot easier than using the lobby.
There was no charge for late check out, they located taxi's that could take us 4 at a time to the airport (cutting that cost in half) and were generally exceptionally helpful.

Firstly, pictures were a lot different to the actual rooms. Lobby area was nice and clean, however the rooms were old and cold. Somewhat clean, bathroom was rundown, dirty shower curtain, old-style box TV and crackling floor boards. Front desk staff weren't the friendliest (maybe because I couldn't speak Spanish). Only good thing was the location, centrally located next to Plaza De Mayo. Not the worst, but not the best either.

A+ location but what you see is NOT what you get.

Upon arriving to the lobby you feel the \"boutique hotel\" style, until you enter your room. The pictures you see online don't represent what you get. The room was VERY small, sound isolation from other rooms was non-existent, and everything seemed dated. Even the TV on the online pictures showed a flat screen TV although my room had a CRT. It's 2014, people these things belong in museums, not in hotel rooms. Not even iron and board were available at the room. Once again, the bathroom was completely different from what I expected: old fixtures, stained bathtub, old toilet that gave me a hard time to flush, etc. My room looked liked the hostel rooms (Not the very cheap ones, of course) you would see in big European cities. Definitely not what I expected from a 4 star or even a 3 star hotel as it is advertised. The hotel is superbly located just steps from Plaza de Mayo and close to where the underground train lines converge. Hotel staff was very helpful and accommodating. If you plan to have a place to leave your bags while visiting the city this would be the place for you but DON'T expect to get what you see online.

This hotel does not deserve the star rating it displays. Translating into the US scale, I would rate it more in the range of 2-3 stars. The rooms are old showing wear and tear. Definitely an overhaul would be nice. The lobby is the nicest aspect of the hotel. The front desk staff was helpful and spoke some English. The wifi is free but very slow and drops frequently. The hotel is located a block away from the presidential palace and in a close proximity to Av. Florida which is a man shopping street. A few days later I stayed at the HR Luxor which is located closer to the main center of the city and was a much better option (3.5 stars rating) at a lower price. I would not recommend staying at this hotel.

Good Hotel for the Cost

This hotel is in a good location (remember, this city is much too large for any hotel to be close to all the attractions). It is not 5-star but is adequate for a 7-10 day stay and thus, a bargain as far as the cost per evening. The building is old but has a lot of charm. The staff were very helpful, especially for a non-Spanish speaking visitor. We stayed 2 nights and then went to Mendoza for three days before returning to the same hotel for 4 more nights (different rooms). Access to the Wi-Fi was sporadic in the first room but was the signal was strong and consistent in the second room (both rooms on the same floor).

This Hotel is extremely noisy, we were moved after 2 nights and had better nights sleep. Floors are wood and it is possible to hear every move from room above.
Cleanliness was poor.
The hotel must have been upgraded many years ago and is now very tired.
Staff are polite when spoken to but make no attempt to speak to guests.

As others had noted, soundproofing between rooms does not exist and the hardwood floors can make sleeping difficult at times. Also, did not receive upgraded room or welcoming package as indicated on hotels.com. Staff was helpful but only when asked.

BA the most beautiful City in Latin America

I was the happiest guest, Nogaró accomplished my expectative; it is the classic old hotel rehab that keeps its nostalgic taste of past époques. I loved it. The location of the hotel is unbeatable in fact it is its main plus (It is really, really close to La Casa Rosada). I must mention in order it does not happen again, I had a bad episode; I was stolen in the street behind to the hotel, they hit me and took away my cell phone. So please be careful, I mean don’t be naïve, take always the logical measures of security. Always keep your stuff in the security box, be alert. Don’t get me wrong, my stay in Buenos Aires was great, I would come back always and would choose same neighborhood. For me is the more beautiful city in Latin America. The staff was really nice, friendly and helpful, even after I left the hotel they continued helping me.

Definitely NOT recommend this hotel to anyone!

This is the worst hotel I ever staying in. I suggest it be removed from the recommend list.
This hotel is priced for four stars but the overall rating should be TWO stars.
Here are some pixs I took while staying there. I believed the pixs spoke for itself.
By the way, the hair on the floor was not mind. Besides the paper covered one of the ventilations, the A/C was set and cannot be altering. If you like it cooler or warmer, too bad, you are stuck.

Perfectly located one block from historic Plaza de Mayo and very near other downtown attractions. A drawback to this, however, is that the Plaza and surrounding buildings are also where noisy (to say the least...) pro-government groups demonstrate.

I was not happy with the fact that the air conditioning in my room didn't work, the WiFi in the room was inconsistent (but excellent in the main lobby area) and that I couldn't make local calls from my room phone, despite all this supposedly having been taken care of. Reception desk staff was very attentive and friendly, but unable to resolve the problems without necessitating a room change. My room was very small (two twin beds).

The Hotel Nogaro and staff were outstanding. We loved the location and the staff was extremely helpful.

We were enchanted by Buenos Aires and thoroughly enjoyed our wonderful visit. The Hotel Nogaró and staff were a big part of our trip. Hotel Nogaró has an excellent location near superb restaurants (D'Oro Restaurante, La Brigada, and El Cabildo), the Cathedral, the San Telmo district with it's charming Sunday market, and the beautiful Church of San Francisco. You are right around the corner from the Casa Rosada, the main office of the President of Argentina and the location where Evita made many of her speeches. Nearby is La Plaza de Mayo, where many remembrances of those known as 'the disappeared' during Argentina's dictatorship, are held. Additionally, the hotel is near a main subway line that is inexpensive and easy to learn. We were so proud of ourselves at being able to travel around the city! The subway can take you to so many outstanding sites. We really enjoyed visiting El Ateneo, a beautiful old opera house turned into a bookstore. We also liked 'Las Violetas,' a great coffee shop. Also, don't miss 'La Recoleta,' a beautiful cemetery with historical markers, to include that of Evita. (Say 'hello' to all the cats there too!) The hotel staff were so great at offering suggestions and giving directions. If you visit Hotel Nogaró, we recommend taking advantage of the wonderful tours of the area. The hosts there, too, are excellent. We recommend taking in the tango shows and meals at El Viejo Almacén as well as the Tango Porteño. We loved having a fantastic breakfast bar served by such talented cooks and staff. (This really helps save money too!) Finally, as one who really likes staying connected with family and friends, the free wifi at Hotel Nogaró made a positive difference as well. We could go on and on about the great people of Buenos Aires. The city is so charming. The Hotel Nogaró staff will really take care of you! We'd return in a minute! Have a wonderful visit to beautiful Buenos Aires!

The location is excellent, right at the end of the pedestrian street Florida. The rooms and bathrooms are outdated and the breakfast buffet was not replenished. But I would recommend the hotel just for the location.

Really nice place

Really nice place. The staff was friendly and spoke English which was nice. The room itself was pretty spacious and the bed was really comfortable. You could tell they really took care of the place. The only problem I had was with WiFi. I couldn't get it in my room which was right next to a wireless router. I had to go into the hall to get the WiFi to work which was annoying. Location wise, it's right near the Plaza de Mayo and if your there on a Sunday, the San Telmo market which is definitely worth hitting up.

My first night here was in a tiny little room that was barely large enough for the bed. That, I could tolerate. The real problem was that the heating system could not be turned off. It was 30 degrees C (86F) in my room and there wasn't any way to cool it off, even though the outside temperature was less that 10C. I couldn't sleep. They moved me to a larger room around 2AM, which was okay.

Also, I had laundry done. It came back with a strong chemical odor to it.

I can't believe anyone would rate this Hotel with 4 Stars!!! There were no chairs in our room, no table. When we got here the electricity was off for some kind of repair. When they finish remodeling, maybe then it will merit a better rating. VERY IMPORTANT: ANYONE WHO HAS TROUBLE OPENING A TYLENOL BOTTLE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO FLUSH THE TOILETS.

Once the electricity was back on and the Internet was re-established, WI-FI worked fine (at least where we were on the second floor.

We chose this hotel because it was being promoted by Travel online and had a 4 star rating with 11 reviews. I felt compelled to rate this Hotel, the first time I have rated one as far as I can remember.

Small Rooms!

I stayed in this hotel for two weekends and even though the experience was the same on both weekends, good service, helpful staff, great location; the rooms I got were COMPLETELY different!!!

The first weekend I got a tiny tiny tiny room with no window, where basically only a twin-sized bed would fit... But then the next weekend I got the corner room facing to the street.. This room was huge compared to the other one.. King sized bed, bath tub, plenty of space to walk around, a desk, etc. Definitely ask for the corner room if you have the chance!

Depending on the room size, I would recommend this hotel or not..

Great location but small room!

The 562 Nogaro is located at a few steps from Plaza de Mayo and the Casa Rosada, which are two of the main tourist attractions of Buenos Aires. It is a couple of blocks away from Florida Street (pedestrian shopping street) and where you can take the City Tour Bus. It has a Subway station just a few steps away and its amenities are great... It has been recently renovated and really cool decorations. The only thing I did not like were the TINY LITTLE SMALL ROOMS!!! Never have stayed at a hotel with such a small room (the twin bed barely fit in the room)... But since I was travelling alone and spent most of my day outside walking around, that was not an issue for me.
The staff was also very helpful!

We had to book a hotel for a one night lay-over. It was affordable, in a convenient location (near three Subte lines) and had a buffet breakfast. We would prefer a quieter location with an updated bathtub. When taking a shower it felt like we were going to fall through the bathtub floor.

Nice hotel

Th hotel is well located: Plaza de Mayo is a few yards away as well as the subway entrance. Lots of restaurants all around. Walking distance to a lot of interesting sites: Avenida Florida, Puerto Madero, Avenida de Mayo, 9 de Julio, etc. The hotel is nice but not luxurious. The front desk people were OK. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. The bathroom on the small side, but everything worked well. I felt it wasn't as noisy as some people claim. I couldn't care less about the breakfast. It's mostly continental. I prefered to eat out.

Excellent service, modern amenities in plaza de mayo. located at the \"spur\" of the subway system, making access to all major lines incredibly convenient. breakfast was very good with quality selection of fresh fruit, cheeses, baked goods and made-to-order eggs. only downside is that the rooms are not very sound-proof. be prepared to hear your neighbors shower in the morning and partying activities in the evening. we only were disturbed on evening, so wasn't too impactful. all-in-all, this hotel is solid and a great value.

Great value, nice hotel.

We spent two nights here, and had a very comfortable, clean room. The only downside was, we could hear noise in the hallway and other rooms. Also a church bell that started at 8:00 am. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay. Nice breakfast in the morning, and the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Short walk to Florida, and several nice restaurants/bars nearby. Try the \"Patagonia\" bottled beer near a cafe by the hotel. It was excellent, and hard to find.

I great alternative

This is super value for money. Very central location, great staff and the breakfast was very good for Buenos Aires, we had booked the sister hotel but was moved to this hotel instead by the company, it was a great alternative.

Hotel muito Simples

Hotel bem simples. Aparentemente em decadência. As 19:00h o Hotel fecha às portas e você só entra por uma porta lateral com seu cartão do quarto. Funcionários nunca estão na recepção. Café da manhã bem fraco. Sempre as mesmas opções. E muitas vezes usam o pão do dia anterior que sobrou do café da manhã. Localização excelente e só. O ar conficionado do quarto não funcionava. E o chuveiro quente desligavam a água quente após certo período no banho e a água ficava gelada.

O ar condicionado é central e no verão a temperado fica quente. Não há agua quente no hotel, os banhos são tomados com agua gelada apenas.
Os dois itens reportados acima também foram reportados por outros hóspedes durante a minha estadia.

I have the best impressions of my stay. The location of the hotel is excellent, close to the central squere. The staff is very polite and ready to serve every time of day and night. They helped me in everything I asked: provdeing hot water, arranging extencin of my stay, calling taxy etc. Morning seivice is also good, the food is freash and tasty.
