This is a huge complain about my stay ,Upon arrival, the room was not ready, and the alternative provided was unacceptable. Specifically, the room lacked basic amenities (toilet paper) and was unsanitary, with hair found in the shower. This is a significant departure from the advertised quality of your establishment.

Location, location, location! This budget hotel offers the perfect location to explore the city of Buenos Aires. We walked everywhere. There is a supermarket very close to the hotel. Breakfast is nice and the staff helpful.

I was assigned to a very small, dark, dingy room that looked nothing like the photos provided. The room was extremely small, closer to a broom closet than a hotel room and I say that without any exaggeration. Truly shocking and unprofessional. The front desk said \"nothing else was available\" even though I stressed that the room looked nothing like the photos. One of the worst hotels I have stayed in. Cleanliness and tidiness of the room was also an issue. They had one elevator working which was also taking a copious amount of time. This was a terrible hotel all around, would not recommend and certainly not for American travelers.

This hotel is a terrible place to sleep. All night long, we couldn't sleep because condensation from the neighboring air conditioners kept dripping onto ours, creating a constant loud noise.

To make things worse, at 9 AM, we were woken up by a call from reception. For some unknown reason, they were looking for a man and decided to call our room.

The room service staff need to be trained in room cleaning protocol, use of tools for saperate space in the room.
The room had a poor odour even after cleaning staff did their job, room decor and furniture has to revamped to give a fresh good feel.
The price is a good driver, some training of the staff will help improve the stay experience.

Hotel is located in downtown where it is convenient to take public transit. Lots of food choices around the area. The room has a damp smell but it is big enough for 2-3 people to share and the price is good. You pay what you get. The receptionist was helpful.

This hotel is a moderate facility. If you like fancy this isn’t a place to stay. Rooms are moderately good side. We stayed only one night. Bed and pillows are not comfortable at all but that is the price you pay. Location is a plus. It is in the center of the main attractions.

Staff and location are great, but stayed twice . The first room the AC was not cold even at the lowest 15 celcius. The safe deposit box needed battery replacement. I asked 3 times to fix it and it never got fixed.
The second time for 1 night only and stayed there because we had left our luggage there to go to montevideo. The second time, the bathroom tiles had been painted and the paint was coming off. The toilet tank had broken valve and water kept running and making noise, fortunately i was able to fix it temporarily myself . I dont recommend hotel as is almost like a Motel6 in USA. Find another place

The room was $50 us a night and it was a great location. But that was about all that was good. Service was ok. Door wouldn't open with the keys, it took at least 10 to 100 times to have it open. Beds were not comfortable. Its 3 stars for price and location but i wouldn't stay here again.

They only clean the room every other day. I moved to a better room after 2 nights of my 8 nights. The first room was a very small \"single\" interior room with a window looking out to a dark alcove. My second room was much better for not much more ($7/night more) which was a double room on the top floor with a window facing outside.

The photos in the ad are misleading, the hotel is old and dirty and the service is lousy, they refuse to clean the rooms daily, terrible, the first time taking a hotel in orbitz and I am extremely disappointed, I would not recommend it.

The Hotel Was terrible. The first room we were put in the safe was closed and they had lost the key so they had to move us. The place was falling to pieces. Opening the window the handle almost fell off. The whole hotel smelt of cigarette smoke, all the time. Every few hours the room was flooded with smoke as if someone was smoking right outside the door. The stairs were really dangerous, very low banisters, just a drop of water made them slipery. The toilet seats wobbled and the showers barely worked, with luke warm water. All in all a very disappointing Experience.

The price is perfect for the location. I was minutes walk from cafes, restaurants, metro stations, Florida Ave, the large Avenida 9 de Julio... for a fraction of a price I'd pay elsewhere in the world for a similar location. The property is rather old and the front staff don't speak too much English, so if you have special requests, best to download a translation app.

The pictures that are shown of the rooms are not accurate. They are tiny. There is barely any room to move around. There's one night table, a little stool and a suitcase holder. Once you open the suitcase there is no room to move around. There's not even a table to put anything on. In the bathroom we found a bug. It's a great location but that's about all it has going for it.

Had a great stay at Gran hotel Argentino! The location was perfect, right in the centre next to the Obelisco. The room and en suite were both very spacious and clean, and the WiFi within the whole hotel was excellent. The staff were friendly and willing to help however they could. Would highly recommend this hotel to others.

The best vote for this hotel is its location. The first room I was assigned had not been touched since the 50's. Disgusting bathroom. Broken toilet seat. Scuffed ripped walls. The replacement room was better. Last updated 10 years ago and those years do not show well. Breakfast is sub par. Certainly a budget hotel. I have stayed 3 times previously . Unfortunately, never again.

Location great from top floors, great view towards Av 9 de Julio, the widest in the world. Sadly daily protests were more than a nuisance .Hotel looks a bit run down, room clean but could be better, spots on the walls , small holes in courtains and bed covers.Its a 2 stars hotel at best..

The rooms are definitely not as ok as the pictures show. The walls are dirty, the furniture is very old and falling apart. There was a dead cockroach in the bathroom upon our arrival!

Breakfast was nice, with a lot of sweets, but not a lot of savory options. Staff at the front desk was helpful. Internet is very slow and did not always work.

Judging by the location and breakfast this hotel is a really good value for money, but only book it if it doesn't bother you to stay in an old badly kept room which can be quite depressing.

Nice Hotel in the Middle of the Shopping District

We had booked a Classic Room and upon check in, we were delighted by the reception staff with a free upgrade to a superior room. That was a lovely surprise as we had traveled for over 20 hours with a toddler and it was great to retreat to a better room.
Even though the hotel is located on a Pedestrian Street only, which meant that our Taxi cannot reach the hotel, the walk to the hotel was easy and we felt safe, even at night.
The Superior room itself was lovely, clean (could be cleaner, floor a bit dusty), had a mini fridge, nice selection of bathroom toiletries and the room was modern.
Breakfast room is modern but the breakfast selection was OK. Sweet cereal, sweet cakes, ham, cheese (tasted like plastic), sweet croissants, coffee/tea/juice/yogurt drink, breads, and, the best part was the selection of fresh fruits. Breakfast staff and reception staff was not that friendly either. A smile can go a long way in welcoming guests but we have noticed that most Argentinians were like this, I put it down to cultural difference.
We chose this hotel because it was close to the ferry terminal. You could walk to Peurto Madero Buquebus (roughly 7 blocks away from hotel) or catch a taxi for roughly 100 Peso.
Would we stay here again? Yes, we would but we would probably just give the breakfast a miss as you would get tired of eating so many sweets for breakfast. And a BIG THANK YOU to hotel staff for the free upgrade, it was a lovely gesture.
Nice size Lobby,plenty of room to relax.

Much better room second time around!

I have stayed here many times over the past ten years and the hotel has been gradually improving over this time. However on my first stay on this trip I arrived late at ten pm and was allocated a poor room as the hotel was almost full since it was a public holiday weekend. On this stay I checked in at 1pm and asked for a room overlooking \"nove de Julio\" - the main thoroughfare running past the hotel, which I got. It was much better and had a window opening to see \"obelisco\" which is just down the road. Despite this it was NOT noisy. Good efficient A/C, a bath!,
Comfy bed, big tv (but still no programmes in English - not even BBC or CNN). Breakfast better than before but still below par. On the basis of this room I would recommend staying there as it is a bus or subway ride to Retiro less than a minutes walk from the front door. Oh and by the way they looked after my hot weather wardrobe which was in a laundry bag whilst I was away from BsAs

Have stayed here previously and rooms have been great, and breakfast good as well - but this time both were poor. I did arrive late and they were busy so maybe that's a lesson! Having said that the AC was great - especially important as it was 34C in the street at 22.30, WIFI also good. Position on Nove de Julio bus stops means you can get almost everywhere in the city with a SUBTE pass - even Aerpoarque for less than ten pesos on bus 45 (or 33 from a different stop) breakfast very very poor, only eggs with a few bits of sausage thrown in, no cheese or ham as previously - how disappointing. No rolls either, only cut bread., there were cereals, cakes, medialunas etc.

I stayed in an economy room. It was small, but had everything a person could need (hair drier, air conditioning, TV, in room Wi-Fi included) and was clean

Perhaps I came in with lower expectations, since this hotel was much nicer than where I stayed in other parts of Argentina for a similar price - from room to breakfast to staff and facilities.

The only potential drawback is location, which is central to all the neighborhood but not quite in a particular neighborhood. This was good for me as I wanted to see everything in a short time.
