Inside staff was very good. Poolside staff disengaged - never checked in after delivering the meal. Saw a waiter drop plates that shattered by the pool - merely picked up the big plate shards instead of sweeping them up - sharp shards wet pool, bare foot swimmers. Also there were about 8 cigar smokers in two groups, smoking outside IN THE POOL, flicking their ashes as they partied away. Kinda ruined the pool experience. Finally $33 for an average hamburger - hourly wage is $3 in Argentina. . .

Definitely the best hotel in Buenos Aires. Front desk was amazing! Thanks for the room upgrade for my birthday week. Breakfast was delicious and always enjoyable. Restaurant and pool service was slow but seemed like they improved during the 10 days at the hotel. The spa was very nice. The gym was good, but needs newer cardio. The pool is gorgeous and worth choosing Faena.

The room was two story with narrow steps, 17 I think.
The switches were very, very hard to make work. Otherwise it was an elegant room, well kept.
What really, really upset us is that they only provided room coffee on day one, then they wanted to charge us for the extra days. This was a very expensive hotel by our standards. They should not be so cheap. When we complained, the lady was less than gracious. Also, they sent the maid each day with two bottles of of \"free\" water instead of leaving it in the room. We had left a good tip each day, and felt pressured to give another tip.

Whilst the property is aesthetically pleasing it is otherwise lacking the details and service of a 5* hotel. Rollaway bed not ready when we checked in, we had to carry our heavy bags upstairs ourselves in our duplex room, TV not working, loud construction noises all morning and worst omelette and cappuccino. Minibar and services extortionately priced compared to the Four Seasons Buenos Aires. We won’t be staying here again.

While the Faena was an innovative and beautiful hotel back in the day, it felt very tired and old during our stay in March 2024. The room configurations are small and tight. The paint was chipped, the shower had been re-grouted with the wrong color and the toilet thumped for an hour after each flush. The hotel is also located relatively far from any cool restaurant you will find on Eater, GOOP or other reliable places. Sadly, Faena is just past its prime and in need of an update.

This is an interesting venue for staying in Buenos Aires, however it is disturbing the large number of professionals offering sex to the guests under the very eyes of all employees. What could be an upscale hotel, due to some employees' attitude and the hotel condescendence with outside users offering sex makes Faena a not recommendable place to go.

I had roaches in my room. The overall state of the room was nowhere near the level of a 5 star hotel. I thoroughly recommend you do not stay here and stay at the Alevear Palace instead, which for the same price will give you a true 5 star experience

The Hotel is beautiful the decoration is amazing. The combination with new and antiques objects we really enjoy. For sure get the breakfast at el Mercado is an amazing buffet with so many options to eat as well as as unlimited Mimosas.
When we check in everyone was very helpful and friendly Marina and her team makes us feel very welcome we go a room upgraded with a beautiful card, chocolates and a bottle of Faena Malbec. Francisco was also very helpful coordinating our dinner and multiple events we had, he was always very friendly and willing to help us anytime. The room are beautiful decorated clean and we got the upgraded to a bigger room we had our son with us so we can be very more comfortable. Thanks Marina for that upgraded. In general we love the hotel and everyone who work there. We will definitely come back when we will be back in Buenos Aires. I highly recommend the hotel.

Wonderful hotel in PUERTO in MADERO. Excellent staff, facility, and location. Only one negative thing: if you stay on a lower floor facing the pool, there is a lot of noise from music until late at night. Regardless, we enjoyed our stay very much and highly recommend this beautiful hotel.

Best service ever in a trendy property

The Faena hotel has the best service I've encountered in a while. All the staff was attentive and willing to help. The bar, pool and restaurant Mercado are also amazing. It's a very trendy place.

Are the rooms a little dated? Perhaps, but so are most of BA hotels.

The room was showing its age. Though the hotel tried to upgrade us to a bigger room, it was practically street level, the room was not very well furnished. There was not enough place to put luggage, backpacks and carryons.
The hotel restaurant was convenient and good. But it was very expensive. Overall, it was ok. I’ll probably look for a different place next time

I will compare this hotel with other nice Hotels I stayed in the last 12 months: Palácio Estoril, Mondrian at Sea Containers London, Gran Hyatt Rio de Janeiro, Tivoli Mofahej São Paulo, Colonade Coral Gabels, Golden Tulip Brasilia, Sofitel Carrasco Montevideo. I suggest the reader to check these hotels to balance my opinion about Faena.

Faena has far the worst cost benefit I’ve ever stayed in my life.

We asked for 2 beds and what we got was 2 single beds, for 400USD/night.

Power outlets behind the bed force you to bend like praying to charge your computer. No USB available.

The conference room had a broken chandelier, iron tubes bad painted...

Good gym. Staff extremely nice. Restaurant service impeccable.

Terrible bed for a five star hotel.

Any five star hotel would have better beds. The hotel is fabulous with great service and good restaurants. But because of the terrible beds I cannot give a better review. We told the staff that our bed was not suitable and the attempted to make it better, it was not any better we told them again and nothing was done to fix the problem a five star hotel would have moved us to another room. If they get new beds they will meet five star hotel expectations.

Beautiful hotel with sultry, chic vibe. A few amenities missing (no double sink vanity in bathroom and shower floor is plastic) and door locks not great. Service at restaurants super slow but pleasant. Concierge truly fantastic - got us anything we needed. Beds were exceptionally comfortable too. Roja Tango takes place in the hotel and dancing was great but food was truly awful. Like bad wedding or plane food. And expensive.

Overall we were a little disappointed with this Buenos Aires hotel. The main hotel areas were good but the room (we had a duplex which was all on one floor)was soulless and lacked finishing touches. The staff were friendly and assisted with our issues swiftly. Juan from customer services was exceptional.

Final treat on honeymoon trip. Lovely hotel in appearance, room was great too. Food and drink very expensive in comparison to restaurants etc close by, same quality. Comes with the territory I suppose. Pool staff were very helpful. Man behind the desk at the rear door on the other hand left a sour taste on the stay. So rude, basically shouting at me. Possibly not supposed to use that door. No one explained if this was the case and they opened the door to let me in, so still unsure. Not the treatment expected when paying so much.

Sumptuous fantasy decor at the Faena

Sumptuous decor by Phillip Stark in the public areas delivers a feast for the eyes. The room was perfectly acceptable but not special. Very comfortable bed. Toiletries were surprisingly low quality. The gym in the spa is one of the best I’ve found in a hotel. The biggest sore spot was the restaurant and bar service. The staff is obviously selected for physical beauty and linguistic facility, but as servers they leave much to be desired. Service is agonizingly and unapologetically slow. (By contrast the maid service was excellent.) The indifferent food and beverage service is typical of Argentina, but I’d hoped they would have overcome the problem at such a high end property.

This hotel has a wonderful ambiance with red velvet curtains, eclectic mix of furnishings including different themes in its 4 restaurants/bars, and a very helpful staff, all of whom have perfect English including housekeeping. Beds/pillows, room size, bathroom fixtures, food/beverage/service quality all meet 4 to 5 star US standards. Be sure to reserve and see the nightly Tango show. Rooms are expensive but still a good value, especially for a romantic special treat. The Puerto Madero district has a lot of construction (Oct 2018) that makes it a little difficult to access, some taxis won't take you there from other districts.

Avoid it like the plague

It is a sorry excuse for a D grade hotel which is 3 star at best and testimont that all that shines isn't gold - a superficial hotel full of superficial people, nothing is of substance here and all a little crazy (it's not artistic it's arrogance and sheer crazy!). Avoid the hotel and the area itself it's dull and lacking in a form of character and soul!

Bit more out of the way located than I had hoped.

Grand entrance. Summed the place up : high focus on image - less so on detail.

Pretentious. House keeping is called 'room stylist'. Concierge is called 'experience manager'....you get the idea...

The breakfast and also dinner on one occasion in the main restaurant there were both excellent, as were the staff.

The rooms have seen better days - once perceived glamour is now a little outdated and fraying at the edges.

My first trip to the city - so I had no idea what to expect of anything. Would I recommend this hotel ? Only to those who I think might fall for this type of gimmick.

It's a shame. I was so excited to go. Left eager to move on to my next city.

Accommodations are very old and dated. Red velvet curtains were stained and dirty. Bed mattress was lumpy. Rooms need serious makeover. Food/bev prices and in room dining charges are outrageous. Spa was a huge disappointment - very old amenities and steam / sauna facilities are co Ed which is uncomfortable. Not sure how this was ever rated among leading spas. Could not in good faith recommend to anyone to stay in this hotel.
