The hallways were dim; rooms were filthy, there was some reddish brown stains on our pillows, and the walls had black stains. Roaches running around the entire room. Absolutely horrendous.

It's not a highly rated hotel so I knew what I was getting into but there was mold in the room. Curtain were old and stiff. They don't change the bedding. Cleaning crew was friendly. Easy to get transportation at an hour of the day.

Terrible; worse budget hotel ever experienced

Worse budget hotel I have stayed in Thailand in over a decade.

My mistake was not reading reviews before I booked.

I have stayed in old hotels that are clean. This hotel is old and filthy from the corridor and into the room.
Room stunk of cigarette smoke.
Sheets in places were transparent.
Pillows were lumpy.
Writing bench sticky
Chair filty and had no seat support (springs broken)
Cockroach seen scurrying across the carpet at night.
Carpet dirty
Blackout curtains didn't fully cover either end of window so got full morning light
Shower hose was leaking at head so less effective shower
Shower glass clearly not cleaned
Air conditioning (AC) panel damaged so could only turn AC on and off. AC noisy.

The positives;,
the AC actually worked.
The receptionist was helpful.

I strongly recommend you find alternative accommodation.

This would have to be the most deceiving hotel i have ever booked through hotel club.
It was dirty,mouldy and the towels and linen were throw away at best, There was no spoons for coffee or anything and the overall condition was terrible....Breakfast wasn't too bad ..Your window to see out was filthy and about 450mm wide by 1m high ....should send prisoners here when the jails are full

I am presuming certain floors are in better condition than others. The pictures provided did not reflect what I saw for my room or floor. I am presuming they are still in the process of renovating. My hallway on the 6th floor was dark and needed color. Some lights were not working and the ceiling looks like it suffered from water damage. The main floor and floor 4 looked bright and clean from what I seen. New sheets and linens would be appreciated. The bathroom also needs some work.

This property is located at Nana, popular sex tousism destination in Bangkok. This a run down hotel, an old property, located in a location crowded with prostitute and other sex workers. That's why environment is unsafe, uncomfortable and lousy.
The hotel has no room service or other services. They only do the housekeeping limitedly.
Rooms are old, dirty, bathrooms are very moldy and stinky.
You will have a comfortable feeling while in the property. Rooms have very limited amenities.
I don't recommend it. If you are a sex tourist it may be worthy for you.

Dirty everywhere you look, floor to ceiling. Booked the room with 'no smoking', as soon as got out of the lift you can smell someone has been smoking and smell gets stronger as you enter the room.............not so 'no smoking' at all!!!. All old and worn deco, carpet so dirty, Never going back there no matter how low the price is.

Terrible Hotel. I stayed here before many years ago and bavk then it was a excellent hotel. Now it's Dumb.

First I had to change the room, because the toilet didn't flush properly and couldn't change any settings on the aircon.

Everything and I mean Everything is really dirty, worn out or in disrepair. There was a Hole in the Ceiling and also a huge mold spot. Dirty floors. Dirty walls. Dirty Paintings. Towels Worn out. Also the bedframe was worn out.

In the new room the Aircon made such a loud noise, It feels like you're in a airplane right next to the engine.

Only a table on 1 side of the bed and you geussed it, it was dirty. Also if feel like it would break down if you would put on something slighy heavy.

Even the hallways looked very dirty with worn out carpet. The front door also had dirty stains.

The only thing that was clean, was the reception area and the rooftop bar.

I Booked 3 nights and left after 2 night. I should have left after the 1st night, but I was thight on money.

If you're travelling on a budget. Please, this hotel is not worth it. Avoid this hotel at any cost!

Close down this hotel and do some major renovations!

Bad Experience- Needs lots of improvement

There was no 24hrs reception. The basin was always clogged and they would not clean the room properly until told. When complained about the bedsheet not been changed or towel not being replaced the lady said she wants to come and check the room . Plus the breakfast food was cold and juice had lot of water after informing them they made it proper the next day. Overall it wasn't a good experience wouldn't come back again.Staff has difficult to understand english.

I am staying here now, BY FAR the worst SH**T hole I have ever stayed in, dirty and disgusting with hair and toe nail clippings that I stepped on in bathroom, dirty floors, disgusting pillow cases that were turned over instead of being washed so they look clean. THERE ARE NO TOWELS, and when you ask for some, housekeeping is closed and you cannot get any!!! The front desk is completely useless, i probably got an STD from sleeping on the bed. DO NOT STAY HERE YOU WILL REGRET IT! OH AND LETS NOT FORGET THE MOLD GROWING ON

Photos of my room must have been at least ten years old. The room was gross. The safe didn’t work. Changed rooms to find the window ( now facing a brick wall, wouldn’t open and the room had a Keycard in it for another hotel room, hinting strongly that the room hadn’t been cleaned. Demanded a refund and got it. Went to a much better hotel. Will Nucor return to Le Fenix, and will never recommend. Avoid.

Okay hotel, good local but getting old now

Good service at checkin and check out. the hotel location is good but the place needs a serious renovation as now looking very tired and the rooms are just okay. even had a couple of small cockroaches in the room. the bath towels are seriously worn out.

Overall okay hotel but with some renovation, can be so much better!

Old dirty Hotel. Had to change rooms because found a cigarette butt on the floor and the room had a strong smoking Oder. The first room had to walk through the restaurant to get to the room. Room was close to the kitchen. The second room was a better location but had problems with the door lock. Room was dirty marks on the walls and floors. The Air Conditioner was loud and had a musty wet Oder . But the staff was friendly and the included breakfast was good. I will never stay again.

2 years ago when I started here it was decent and $20 less per night. This time it's moldy and dirty. I sucked it up for 1 short night and moved to another hotel early the next morning. Do not stay here. I feel sorry for the front desk staff because they are nice but clearly the owner doesn't give 2 sticks about the condition of the hotel. It's literally falling apart.

Disgraceful, poor service, health hazard.
1. Checkin ignored, slow lack of staffing.
2. Room was not clean. Pubic hair was visible on floor. Cracks in walls. Bathroom circa 1970's. No amenities.
3. Level 7 corrudir ceiling had mould and ceiling was leaking fluid everywhere. Smell was evudent from mould.
4. Breakfast. Alleged hot food was cold. Plates were not clean. Found security camera above toaster covered in dust. Health hazard..
5. Check out slow and understaffed.
6. Asked for extra deposit at xheckin.
7. Room advertised was 1 room and 2 bedrooms. What we got was 2 rooms with adjoining door which took 2 hours to find the key to open the door.
8. Similar report sent to GM of hotelOne door was misding a door handle.

Great location. Room was good, king size bed. Tile in bathroom needs a little cleaning and some mold on tile floor. Came back to a tv that didn’t work, despite all cables plugged in. Quiet hotel right in the center of great food and nightlife. Good value and place to stay if you are focused on exploring all day.

This hotel is really horrible. I have been here first time, and I had been stayed lots of hotel in Bangkok. Other Hotels were not bad and reasonable price all. But this hotel is too bad and made me upset. They gave me different room what I booked one. So I changed it. And 2nd time was too dirty looked like not changed bed sheets. Third one was too bad smell. Last one room doesn't work hot water systems.... Totally I changed my room 4times. But still not satisfied. I also found some paper what someone else did write complains about HOT WATER SYSTEM. The hotel didn't check and clean well room after check out a customer. That's why I found the complain paper what someone else wrote it. I am really upset at this hotel. I am wasting my precious time.
I also met a guy. He said really surprised with this hotel conditions. So he just left hotel as soon as see the room and booked other hotel again. He checked a way his money.
DON'T BOOK THIS HOTEL. IF YOU WANT TO ENJOY YOUR TRIP.

i have stayed here many times , many many years, a nice clean hip hotel . This last time the new manager Mr .Matt is very good and very helpful, i had a lot of problems due to airline loss of baggage etc, he really helped me . , fantastic stay . Great manager. Nice and safe hotel . it could have a better morning buffet breakfast , they should have more western food . Good staff. A very good stay .

Worst hotel I’ve seen.

Le Fenix was probably the worst hotel I’ve ever had to walk in to.... it was so rundown that there were stains, cigarette burns, holes in the carpets.
The furniture was all chipped and not repaired.
The fittings were old and in need of replacement.
In fact I checked out within 10 minutes of arriving as it felt unhealthy to stay there.
The photos show the hotel as it was many years ago and are not representative of the condition today.

All in all a bit of a bummer

The non smoking room had an ash tray in it and smelled of smoke, someone was drilling and hammering at midnight next door (and I don't mean the freaky kind, construction), our get-freaky zone was actually two beds pressed together which makes an awkward piece of leverage, and the bottle of mouthwash not clearly marked next to the rest of the complimentary toiletries was 120 Baht!! Ok, maybe that last one was my fault but still - for a hotel a bit more than normal I guess my expectations were a bit higher. The breakfast was pretty good, not included, but good. But I'll say something nice, I liked the spicy omelets.

My everything in room smelled like an ashtray. There was a cigarette butt on the floor and wads of nasty hair clumps. I complained and they came and swept a bit. After hunting someone down to cook something for room service I finally get fish and chips and it’s mostly raw and frozen in the middle. Now this is all within the first hour of being there so I figured I’d go shower. Haha, nope. Shower was broken and the pool has been under construction for the last two years. I would not recommend this hotel unless you just need a quick cheap place to sleep and you don’t mind some gross.

This is my 2nd time staying in this hotel however the experience I had was not that pleasing as 1) i’m stay at the top floor wifi connection is real bad, didn’t have chance to use the free wifi at all. 2) the pillow i had in the room already sunken in so much that it never supported my neck when i sleep.3) Requested for touching up the room when i left in the morning & when i came back the rest of the room has been neatly pack except for my morning coffee which i made in the room was still left on the desk untouched.

Gone down hill. Suitable only for price and area.

15 years ago this was a fantastic boutique hotel. It had great staff, food and overall service such as tuktuk to station and water in the pool.
Having stayed here over a dozen times, in the past year each time another feature disappears. Not suitable now for western visitor.
No pool.
Breakfast no bacon or real meat!
Only menu is Indian.
Tuk tuk service hourly.
No change of towel.
General cleanliness declined.
Rooftop bar used to be a cool hangout now deserted.
Its a real shame as this area is alive again and this hotel used to be well known. It could be cool again if managed well and upgraded.

Comfort Stay But Hotel Room Need Upgrading

The check-in was slow and room not ready even though I arrived at 3.30pm. Was told that I have to wait for another 30min for a non-smoking room. In the end, I got a smoking room to save time as I was rushing for a meeting. In addition, I booked a room with breakfast included but the staff told me that my room did not include breakfast. I double checked my reservation which showed breakfast included but the staff told me not included. I could not bother to argue with the staff. I felt disappointed and cheated. Also the room and bathroom (especially) need upgrading.

Worth the money.

Amazing reception service and also good shower and sleep on comfy bed. However, it’s a bit of walk from nana bts, not exactly very near but walkable. Just beware of bad pavement along the road.

Not bad, but not close to the main road.

The staff is friendly. The double room i booked was big. The condition of the washroom could be better, and the walls of the room could use a new paint job. Also, the hotel is far from the main road - sukhumvit road...and walking to and from the hotel is not easy in the heat. They say the hotel has a tuk tuk service available but it was never there. They really should do a better job of making sure a tuk tuk is available for their customers. If you don't mind paying for taxis or walking in the heat to the main road, then this hotel is not bad.

Good strategic party location with a comfy stay

My friend recommended me this place, about 8 minutes walk to Nana train station, plenty of 7-11 around the accom, got rooftop open air dining/drinking place. Also a lot of late night party is in this street, Soi 11. So you don't have to go far to go party and such.

I've been comming back for years and have always had good customer service but becoming too expensive for what it offers. Pool is not available - I was told it's under renovation, but according to previous posts, seems like it's been like this for a while

It is an ok hotel, and would stay there again especially since it is a decent rate per night. The hotel staff is friendly, and rooms are a good size, but you can tell the hotel is old. Not much scenery from the room, but I'm not staying in the room for scenery. I think it is good for a 1-3 night stay, but if you want something more comfortable you may want to consider a higher end hotel. 7-11 is very close, and laundry place is around the corner and cheaper than the other laundry places closer to Sukhumvit. Close to bars, etc but a 10 minute walk to the Nana BTS.

Located at SOI 11 which was good. My stay was fair at best. I was not a fan of whoever designed the bathroom. No counter top to put your toiletries, just a sink, they call it boutique, sorry I prefer old fashioned big counter bathrooms. Good rates though.

I've stayed at Le Fenix a number of times but not over the past few years so when I made the booking I assumed it would be a decent experience as it had been before. Check in was fine but going up to the room on the 3rd level by way of the restaurant the smell was quite off-putting, like stale food and grease. They really need to deep clean the carpets and place scents around this floor to make it smell better as its really not nice. Getting into the room all the amenities were much the same as the last times, only looking more tired and worn. Bathroom tiles in need of a good clean, scuffs on the wall, in general just in need of a freshen up. bed is firm but reasonably comfortable. Amenities wise the gym is tiny and a bit of an afterthought although its still good that there is at least something there.

The service provided by the staff was really bad. We called the room service for a ice and the reply we got was amazing \" we do not serve ice at this hour please go to seven leven which is opposite the hotel and get it.

Great location, awesome for price

It is clean, quiet (despite the rooftop bar) with tons to do just around the corner (gramercy park is a must on top of the Fraser Suites). For the price you wont do better around there.

great location

I booked on price so didn't have huge expectations but was pleasantly surprised by so many things. The street its in is great location Soi 11, some of the best bars & clubs, easy access to metro, taxis, street food. Some excellent restaurants nearby in a little mews & best of all, the staff, from waitresses to the room clearer & especially the gorgeous ladies in reception were always smiling & charming. i'll be back!

Convenient hotel but definitely needs fresh paint

Hotel badly needs hall carpets replaced and repainted
Stunned at pack and go breakfast instead of buffet
Mentioned in my last review for here in November that pillows need replacing and this is still the case

Needa improvement

This is no good. The shower place is totally bad in design, water spitting out very easy.

Also, the service still problem when the reception agree for turning a king bed into a twin bed room but finally the staff refuse to make that. Fortunately I can change to a twin bed smoking room which I don't prefer smoking.

But one thing can be appreciated is the free Tuk Tuk service, the drivers are so nice and good service.

All good here, go for it!

Easy to find hotel in a location convenient for meeting friends for a night out.....nothing to complain about the accommodation, all totally adequate.
Worth booking the buffet breakfast for a small extra charge. Would definitely use again!
