Check-in was great. The bathroom is tired and the showerhead couldn't be fixed. Bath was old. Food was nice however service very erratic. Parking great and lovely grounds with house cat!

Family stopover to the Alps

This was a lovely find for a stop over on the way to the Alps. The rooms offer lots of space with split level feature. We loved the pool, hot tub, sauna, the free parking and the buffet breakfast. We weren't as fond of the dinner in the restaurant. It's a lovely, quiet area (takes awhile to get to!), but we loved it and will definitely want to come back again.

Stayed in room 107, it smelled bad. It smelled of septic tank. Couldn’t get a dinner reservation, that’s on us for not booking ahead, turns out that they had a few events and weren’t staffed appropriately as they did have about 6 tables empty. Because of that we were told that we couldn’t get room service either. Not really what I would expect from a 4* hotel.

Internet is rather slow unless you are standing next to the door, the usb chargers only work off you have the lights on (can’t charge tour phone overnight) there was no water fountain visible or with signs on the first floor.

Overall not impressed.

The rooms were clean, but that’s just the bare minimum one can expect.

Beautiful grounds, easy parking. We only stayed 1 night and did not use the SPA facilities. Check in was straight forward. Staff were ok. We did not eat at the hotel. Our room was ok, but more consistent with a 3 Star category, specially the bathroom which looked very tired and worn; the ceiling panels, tile groutings, bath and basin surface needed immediate attention / improvements. The air con worked fine and looked new. We had a good night sleep.

Nice but not great.

Hotel was nice with decent level of facilities but the food was a little hit n miss. A steak was inedible and one was very similar.

No offer if discounting this awful steak from the bill. I can assure inknwi my steak and it was truly impossible to chew.

Complicated shower to operate and reviews of the restaurant made us drive to Troyes to avoid an expensive mistake , €47 each for 3 course meal is not good value !

The room was €178 and it did not include breakfast , a further €15 per person

We liked our stay but were frustrated that on arrival at the hotel we were booked into a family room. We were only two my wife and I and only needed a standard room which were available but the hotel could not change the booking as it had been made online on the Hotels.com app. So we were landed with a room for five people. I tried to get a credit for the room difference to apply to our dinner but was unable to do so.

Good family stopover hotel

Nice hotel, very convenient split level room with clean and simple decor. Pool looked a little tired with limited changing facilities but was otherwise enjoyed by the kids. Perfect for an overnight stay with the family.

We stopped en route back to uk from Italy.
Lovely location but isolated from nearest town so no choice to eat other than at hotel.
Dinner menu very odd .
Variety of ingredients n plates which did not complement each other.
Food was neither French or European.
Serious problem with wasps in dining room
Air conditioning system had broken down so had very poor nights sleep as no fans were offered and room temperature was high.we were advised not to open our windows because of mosquitoes
I did complain when paying bill and was given discount of our restaurant bill.which was good but did not compensate for lack of sleep or quality of menu

4 of us in a super room, air conditioning was a bit noisy, staff very friendly, you can see that the Hotel is going to need an update / redec soon but don’t let that put you off, I would certainly stay again but one thing that annoyed me, the poor quality of Breakfast, runny scrambled eggs, only two choices of cereal, Coco Pops or Frosties, that’s it. The Hotel was busy and not enough to choose from including cheeses!

Overpriced and does not worth your money

Overpriced for what it offers.
We paid 130 euros/night without breakfast included and we wanted to use the Spa facilities, meaning the jacuzzi, sauna (not the body treatments). Surprisingly they told us that we not only had to book our access in advance, but also to pay extra to enter the Spa !! This was never mentioned during our check in and certainly is not mentioned at the website. There are indeed charges for the Spa access but one would have thought that if you stay in the hotel the access is included in the price. Well, it is not !!
They showed us an external pool that we could use (during November...), which had leaves and dirt.
The rooms and corridors which lead to the room access require a serious upgrade too.

Overall, a total waste of money.

Excellent service at reception and in the restaurant. They were happy to speak English which helped us a lot. We were able to take our dog into the restaurant where she sat under our table. Good food and good choice to break our journey home from South of France. Interesting area that would be worth exploring.

Staff are SUPERB, lovely people. Nothing is too much trouble, perfect. Quiet location, quiet rooms, spacious, good relaxing public areas, food is first class, service great, reception area are detailed and very precise - perfect place. Sauna area is a great way to relax after a long drive, although was not open for 3 days and this was not advertised. This was frustrating as the hotel is a 25 min drive off course from going down to the Alps and cheaper options in Troyes, and they did not offer compensation (say money towards dinner) to offset this.

Lovely hotel but terrible food

We enjoyed our stay the hotel was lovely and a lovely setting. But the restaurant food was appalling.
I had a grilled sirloin steak and fries. The steak was too tough to eat and the French fries were not cooked enough and were white. They were obviously frozen fries. My wife had chicken which was not very good. The chef should be replaced.

Good hotel, except the restricted access to spa

The hotel is good value for money overall, it offers good facilities and food. The only flaw is related to the spa, which is advertised extensively in their website but in reality the access is restricted to just few people per hour which, in a so big hotel, means to have very little chance to enjoy it, eve if theoretically you paid for it. The fact that access is restricted should be displayed clearly in their website.

For us, this was too family friendly - for some it would be perfect because of this. We were travelling with a 2 year old and even then decided to retreat to our room rather than have dinner or a drink in the bar.
We did however think the bathroom and furniture was dated and tired and therefore did not enjoy our stay. The bed was reasonably comfortable though for a one night stop which ours was, it was fine.

Room was spacious, although the stairs to the bedroom can be a bit tricky, they were quite steep and slippery (not sure all rooms are like that though). Only stayed one night, as passing through. Restaurant staff didn't seem to be getting along with each other. Would stay again.

The reservation had a special request which the hotel reception were unaware of and were not interested in reimbursing me for the difference in price as they were not able to provide me with an accessible superior room and I had to downgrade to a standard room for the same price. Great for walking ( picture of the lake early morning) and relaxing, lovely food and wine at reasonable prices.

Massive disappointment

We were travelling through France so booked this spa hotel to relax in the jacuzzi after our long drive and to use the internet to research the next days travel. We were really pleased when our room was next to the spa so we went straight along. We were told that it was fully booked, regardless of the fact that we were hotel guests. We were really annoyed as i feel if it was an issue to get access they should point out to guests that they should book upon reservation.
We decided to cut our losses and do some admin but then discovered their internet didnt work at all. We requested to be moved and the staff took us around several options which they themselves admitted were umsuitable for occupancy (one entire corridor had a terrible smell) The only option then was to get an upgrade and we were given a password to different wifi. The only problem was the internet still did not function at all, and the room was bigger, but in fact older and lower spec than our original room, so totally pointless! As nothing else to do we went to have a steak in their restaurant which was tough and we had to send back (to be fair the lamb was nice)
On check out we tried to tell the receptionist about the smell, as we were concerned it was linked to elevator brakes, but she was completely dissinterested. Finally tried to use the lobby internet, which didnt work either. Could not get out of there fast enough.

Free parking galore. A hotel were you would like to stay a lot longer. Over the years this was the 4th time we stayed in this hotel and hope one day to stay there again.
Excellent value for you money. This is one hotel you will remember for a long time. The staff is very friendly and very helpful

On paper this place should be luxurious and special but it feels very corporate.
The restaurant is a real disappointment: just because you have lots of fancy ingredients and a very expensive menu does not mean the food suddenly becomes haute cuisine. It was the worst food we ate in France. Quite literally, the motorway service station was better. Everything was over seasoned, over garnished and over priced.

The mezzanine layout of the family room didn't really work for having two young children. It would have been better for us to have had to conjoined rooms.

Lovely hotel in the countryside outside Troyes

Really lovely location.
The forest surrounding the hotel is lovely and Troyes is a lovely city.

You can break up your drive back from the south with a lovely walk, cycle ride or indeed golf round when staying here.

Troyes has a huge outlet center and the lovely city center is both beatiful and has lovely restaurants

A stop over as we drive to Italy. This hotel is very comfortable with large bedrooms, great beds and good bathrooms. It’s convenient to eat in the restaurant, good choice at a reasonable price and breakfast is excellent. We have used the hotel several times and will continue to do so, the staff are attentive and professional, it is everything we need after a long drive.

Regular stop for us en route to the Alps. The hotel is set in some nice woodland, and on a golf course. The staff are very welcoming and accept dogs. The family rooms are large with a mezzanine floor.

Not the first stay here. The owners rely on one night stopover guests and the rooms are starting to look worn. Although when we stayed a first floor room in January this had been refurbished. We had two rooms a double (2nd floor)and a family Sui te (3rd floor) this time and the ensuites were tired.. food though is always good.

Bed very comfy and room spacious. Disappointed that we were unable to eat in the restaurant (arrived at 5pm and told no tables until 10pm!). The only option (as nowhere local to eat) was to order room service at 7pm. Food was not very good. Walls in room were dirty/marked, and so was the valance on the bed. Just not quite a 4 star...more of a 3 star.

Close to motorway so ideal for people looking for a stopover on a long drive

Negatives
The only place to eat is the restaurant. There's no bar food or room service which is poor if you just fancy a light snack.
The bathroom in our room was tatty and had hairs from the last guest.
On checkout, the receptionist said Expedia hadn't paid for the room and asked me to pay. After 10 mins and showing him the money coming out of my bank account, he accepted it had been paid. No apology though.
Dreadful breakfast - all the hot food was cold.

Stayed here to break up the journey from uk. Lovely surprise huge family room, indoor pool. Restaurant was fully booked so we had to eat in our room. Food was really nice but fairly pricey. Went for a walk with the dog around the beautiful golf course. A fab start to the holiday and worth the detour.

Stayed overnight at the hotel in a family room. Clean and comfortable with friendly staff. Covered outdoor pool was warm. Our dog was allowed and had a large golf course to walk him! I would definitely stay again.
Cannot walk to anywhere local so would need to drive, but lakes close by for activities.
