Good location close to Altona station (for trains to the South I think). Very friendly staff and clean room with plenty of hot water. Only negative was that the room was pretty small and the bed also quite small.

I was very disappointed that they had a room directly next to me being completely remodeled starting an 8:15 in the morning the next day, it was super loud. I understand that these hotels need to be worked on, but the front desk person should’ve let me know ahead of time or moved me to, a location where I’m not hearing a hammer at 8:15 in the morning. i expect more from a Best Western

The only complaint is the space of the shower. Although I know that it is pretty normal for any generic German hotels, I think that they could still do some arrangement, such as relocation of soup bottles, to give a little more freedom for showerers. Anyway, the amount of water and pressure are excellent!

Cozy place for a good price.

We really liked this hotel. It's not far from downtown, but doesn't have a downtown price tag. Breakfast can be purchased separately. They have an arrangement with a parking garage where you can park your car, but it's quite expensive. We paid at a parking meter (with a credit card) to park in the street next to the hotel, for maybe 1/3 the cost.The furniture is a little dated, but very functional. It's not the Ritz, but it's just right for the price. We had a great view of the Tivoli Gardens amusement park from our window.

There were many croissant/coffee stops close-by.

Great hotel handy for Altona

This hotel was in a perfect location for us as we were in Hamburg for a gig and it was close to the venue and to the station. On arrival we were greeted and pleased to be upgraded. Our room was large and was on the front of the hotel and although the view was nothing special as it overlooked Altona Nord station, it was large, clean, well presented and there was no issue of outside noise Beds were comfortable and the shower and bathroom facilities were more than ample. If we had one small issue it would be that the room lighting was quite subdued and the room was not that bright.
We went down for breakfast about 30 minutes before it was due to finish and although it wasn't included in our room rate we decided to pay and eat in the hotel as we were on a tight schedule and didn't want to spend time looking around the locale for something else. Although it was quite expensive at €12 per person there was a really good selection of fruits, pastries and an extensive continental selection and we were able to replenish as often as we wanted.
If you were looking for a hotell to explore central Hamburg then this may be a bit far out but if you were visiting the Altona part of the city then I would certainly recommend this hotel

This is a three star near the Hamburg, Altona railway. It was convenient for both the metro and busses. The room was comfortable, clean, and small. It was made up for two people but there was room gor no more than one. Good use was made of space.

The staff had a lot of prepared info on transport, restaurants etc. Well done.

I have marked this hotel up because they took a simple place and made it work well.

Stopover near Station.

Decent enough room though a little dated. Massive television and room had safe and coffee facilities. Bed was reasonable though the room was a little chilly until heat was turned up and worked through. Clean, tidy and perfectly adequate. WiFi worked eventually but slow.

Nice Hotel ideal fro Train Station

Was a very nice hotel ideally placed for the train station. My only complaint was the single bed could have been a bit longer, but the staff were very friendly and the room was very clean. New towels were placed every day of my stay despite me leaving them on the towel rail to signify they did not need changing.

I used the hotel for its convenience to the main line station or the ICE train to Hannover and you could hardly get a closer hotel.

It is well placed for the local attractions and shops and is only a few minutes away from the central station on the underground.

A very good place to stay. Within a minute walk of one of Hamburg's main public transportation hubs, you'll get anywhere quickly. Lots of food available in the area, good shopping. The hotel staff was great, the room seemed recently refurbished and was perfectly clean. It was quiet. The bathroom has no tub, but a big shower cubicle easily fitting two people. Storage space was a bit of an issue. Because the room is split into a bedroom and a small office, there was hardly any space to have an open suitcase on the floor. The cupboard had only two shelves, one of which was out of reach even for a tall person. I ended up stacking my clothes on the floor in front of the cupboard. There is a fridge and a safe in the room, and a kettle with lots of different kinds of tea bags and instant coffee.

Stayed in the Best Western since we were visiting family who live in Altona (Hamburg). Location for that was perfect, was able to walk everywhere for family events. Hotel staff was great. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel, so I cannot rate that. Hotel is walking distance from Altona train station, which is great. Room was small, but perfectly OK for our needs. Bathroom was HUGE and totally clean. Loved that. Would certainly stay there again

Pretty standard cheapo. If you have a car the parking price is reasonable . However, the traffic around the hotel/rail station is pretty miserable during rush hour. Being near BHF Altona is good and bad - if you get a room facing the street it can be noisy but the s-bahn connections and the commercial conveniences are good. Ottensen (just on the other side of the station) is a great little Fussgängerzone. Walls are thin and space is at a premium. Breakfast not included and in an adjacent building.

This review is based on a booking and pre-payment for a double, non-smoking room but - on arrival - being put in a single, smoking room. The smoking room, unsurprisingly, had the most disgusting stench, with yellowing walls practically dripping in nicotine. Even at check-in the receptionist had confirmed that it was a non-smoking room and, having given me directions to the room, would have known perfectly well it was, in fact, a smoking room. For this act of dishonesty alone, the hotel hardly deserves more than the minimum rating. Then, after a vociferous complaint from me and a denial from the receptionist that the hotel was under any obligation to provide a non-smoking room if requested (this was for a five-night stay), a non-smoking room miraculously was found. This was clean enough, though extremely small (c 3m x 2m) for a double room with a tiny wardrobe but no drawers to store clothes and with a very badly tuned TV. Overall, shockingly poor value.

Smoking room when non-smoking was requested

I would have great things to say about the hotel if they hadn't given me a smoking room when I had requested a non-smoking room. It doesn't matter if it is the biggest or nicest. Non-smoking is ALWAYS the number one priority for a non-smoker. I didn't request a change as I had 5 heavy bags haul around, so I can't comment on any possible flexibility on changing it. For people with disabilities, this is not the hotel for you. Steps up to main counter and many rooms that are not accessible except for by steps. For me, that was fine (except for my abnormal number of bags. It also reduced foot traffic by the room I believe. I would definitely stay there again, but I would confirm w/ the front desk before arriving that they had a non-smoking room for me (as requested).

Great hotel for business travelers.

Attention business travelers, this hotel is a gem. The room is small but well designed. It has a small desk, a place for the suitcase, a clothing cabinet, safe, minibar, teakettle, and a trouser press that gets the creases back in. The bathroom is well done, nothing is missing. Parking spaces are in the backyard. I did not see all the hallways in the hotel. But I dare to assume that all of them are as nice as the one on my floor. The doors are finished with a wood veneer that is coated with a layer of shiny polyeurethane. It looks gorgeous. The TV is mounted on the wall at the foot end of the bed. The light can be switched off while actually being in bed. Free WiFi is included and it works flawlessly. The breakfast buffet is very good. There is an elevator too.

The only thing I wish I had in the room are two more power outlets located directly on or at the desk, one for the laptop and one for a phone to charge. There are wall outlets in the room but when you want to charge your phone, you have to put it on the floor. When you plug in your laptop, the cable becomes a trip hazard. So please, hotel management, add two power outlets to the desk. Doesn't cost much but makes a whole lot of sense.

I had quite a small room but my friends had bigger more spacious with walk in shower. I had a shower over bath. worked well, plenty hot water. Over all for the price i paid it was value for money.

Small but convenient

We stayed in this hotel twice in two weeks and both times the rooms were tiny. Lack of air conditioning made it uncomfortable also; we had to sleep with the windows open but this meant that we were awake very early because of city noise outside. However, the hotel is spotlessly clean, very conveniently located especially for Altona train station, offers off-street parking (for a fee) and offers a good breakfast (for a fee). Overall, it suited us as it was easy to get to from the motorway and close to the underground if you want to get around Hamburg.

I liked the location because it was a bit away from the touristy central areas, but still very central; just a few stations away from haubtbahnhof and just a good walking distance from St Pauli and Schanzenviertel areas. And also Altona is a very charming area.

The hotel itself was very clean and tidy. The staff were polite and serviceminded. The rooms were quite basic, but definitely worth the price.

My room - 118 - was located such that with suitcases etc it was like undergoing an assault on the Alps. Elevator uo one floor. Down acorridor. Through a door. Then down a set a stairs one floor - then there is 118. There was no other, more convenient way to get to the room. The room itself was \"Compact\", which is OK because I only slept there.

Ideal location for a city break in Hamburg

We stayed in the Altona Hotel during the last weekend in April 2009. The rooms were spacious, with clean sheets, tv and good shower facilities etc. There was a mini-bar and the fridge was stocked with beer soft drinks and crisps (Chargeable to your room). The only improvement would be on the breakfast and having airconditioning in the bedroom. The Hotel is ideally located, as it is only 5 mins walk away from a lively traditional area (Altona), offering lot's of bars and high street clothes shops etc. The train station is also situated here where you can load your car onto the train and travel across Europe etc.

nicht am frühstück teilgenommen daher dazu keine Meinung.
Generell eher alte Ausstattung. Für eine Nacht ok aber nicht um sich länger in den Zimmern aufzuhalten. Auch eher eng. Blick nach hinten ok, nach vorn auf Schienen wahrscheinlich laut.
Gegend ok aber nicht schön. Wer nur Nahe Bahnhof übernachten will, ist es aber ok.
Preislich finde ich es für diesen Standard extrem hoch. Für den Preis bekomme ich MotelOne mit komplett anderem Flair und Atmosphäre.
Werde es wohl nicht erneut buchen.

Förhandsinformationen hade kunnat vara bättre. \"Spa\" visade sig vara en enkel bastu, som kostade 20EUR att utnyttja. Mitt rum låg så till att jag behövde gå en våning för att nå dit. Funkar för mig även om det var jobbigt med en tung väska, men hade absolut inte fungerat för någon svårigheter att röra sig. Rummet var betydligt mindre än man hade kunnat förvänta sig till priset jag betalade, med tanke på att hotellet är lägre medelklass.

Die Zimmer werden nur auf Wunsch gereinigt. Der Kaffee und eine Flasche Wasser werden nur einmalig bereitgestellt. Die Zimmerreinigung ist gründlich.

Die neu renovierten Zimmer sind modern eingerichtet. Das Einzelzimmer ist ziemlich klein und eng aber ok. Ein minimaler Nachteil; das Zimmer hat keinerlei automatische Lüftung, man kann einzig und allein durch die zwei Fenster lüften. Das könnte vorallem für warme Sommermonate ziemlich unangenehm sein. Fliegennetze sind dabei leider nicht vorhanden - wenn man da pingelig ist würde ich also nach einem alternativen Hotel suchen. Auf die Sauberkeit, so hatte zumindest ich das Gefühl, wurde viel Wert gelegt. Alles im allem verfügt das Zimmer alles was man braucht. Auf Anfrage wurde mir ebenfalls ein Bügeleisen zur Verfügung gestellt, dabei ist hervorzuheben, dass das Hotel Personal sehr freundlich und Serviceorientiert ist. Zur Lage: meiner Meinung nach eine Top Lage. Grade wenn man kein Frühstück dazugebucht hat, findet man auch hier reichlich Möglichkeiten um das Hotel herum sich zu verpflegen. Außerdem kann man von dem Hotel aus in fixen 8 Gehminuten und die kleine Innenstadt laufen um dort zu stöbern und zu shoppen. Andernfalls ist der Bahnhof direkt vor der Haustür und ist somit perfekt angebunden. Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt und kann das Hotel nur weiterempfehlen!

Ist gut gelegen zum Bahnhof Altona. Die Fenster halten den Lärm der Straße gut ab, die Wände hört man allerdings husten :-)
Gutes Hotel, wenn man ein begabter Autofahrer ist, kann man auch den Parkplatz im Hof nutzen.
