I stayed here for a trip to Niseko, which is about a 30-minute drive away. The hotel has some wonderful highlights, but also a few downsides to consider.
The Highlights:
• Stunning Views: The breakfast was a highlight! The restaurant overlooks a snowy landscape that looks like something straight out of a fairytale. The breakfast selection was also quite good.
• Great Amenities: They offer lovely extras like complimentary soda, tea, and ice pops. There’s also a microwave available, which was very convenient for heating up quick meals after a tiring day of skiing.
• Atmosphere: I really enjoyed the live music performances held in the lobby every evening—it added a very nice touch to the stay.
• Parking: Free parking is available right across from the lobby, though you'll need to find your own spot.
The Downsides:
• Onsen & Cleanliness: While they have an onsen, the washing area was not very clean, and the space felt a bit cramped. It also tended to get quite loud inside.
• Room Condition: I stayed in a Japanese-style room, which was very spacious, but unfortunately, it felt a bit dated and not as clean as I would have liked.
Overall, the scenery and free perks are fantastic, but the cleanliness in the common areas and rooms could definitely be improved.

The staff and manager were very accommodating and gracious. We enjoyed our 8 night stay in our room which was spacious and nicely appointed. The ski shuttle bus was consistently on time, and the hotel is in a great, quiet location. Buffet breakfast was also delicious. Will return next time skiing in Niseko.

The hotel is more than nice for the price, you get more, I think is more designed for local nationals that arrive in their cars, you can rent but if you dont split the car rental fare between several people then it would be the same to stay at a ski in ski out, the hotel have shuttles to the mountain, but you have to know their location and pick up spots.

The hot springs are awesome, good breakfast included.

BUT again the staff tries their best , be prepared to take your own lugguage up, no money exchange in building so bring . shuttle is ok , but you are away from Hirafu

As with many places in this part of Niseko, it’s getting dated. They have done some upkeep inside at least. All the investment is over in Hirafu and Hanazono.

That said, this side of town still has a lot of charm. The good backcountry skiing is over here too.

I enjoyed the onsen. The food was also good, but started to get repetitive after day 2. I stayed 4 nights and wouldn’t have wanted to do another meal per se. There are limited dining options on this side of town,but the isakaya down the hill is pretty great. I stayed at the Niseko Grand last year. I’d say both are comparable. The mixed outdoor onsen at the grand was nice though.

Kan no mori is a great hotel for the snow season. With live music, onsen, good food, great view of snow from inside, spacious room and convenient store at the lobby, it was a comfortable and good stay for me. The only inconvenience was the shuttle service which does not go to the hotel very often.

This was a pleasant traditional Japanese style hotel. We enjoyed the quiet environment and wonderful onsen. The breakfast buffet was wonderful as well. The hotel staff was pleasant and the rooms were very clean. Definitely recommended for those who want a quiet place to stay near the ski resorts.

Great winter experience

Even before our trip the hotel already contacted us for the details on how to get to their location. All our queries were promptly responded to. Upon arrival we had warm welcome from their staff. We arrived late in the evening and they politely instructed us to have dinner first (included in our package) as their restaurant will close by 9pm. The food is also delicious. Their staff is kind to answer our queries regarding the ski activity for the next day. Their breakfast is also good and have lots of choices. They have free shuttle bus from/to the ski area and they will also share their schedule for your reference. On our second day, we had a room with open air bath and unexpectedly the area is big with free welcome snack (tea and rice cake). Overall, it was a great experience for us.

Kanronomori is a great spot in Nesiko away from riff raff of Gran Hirafu. The hotel has everything you'd need, however it is a bit dated. I've stayed here on 3 different occasions and definitely would stay again!

Went for a ski trip with family. Ski rentals staff at the hotel were friendly. Hotel location was quiet and a bit remote. Onsen indoor and outdoor were amazing. Buffet breakfast and dinner were good, though the dinner main dishes still had rooms for improvement.

Hotel provides free shuttle bus from Annupuri ski center or welcome center.

When we finished snowboarding for a day, we took the shuttle bus and checked in the hotel. The staff was so nice that they gave us a personal tour and led us to the room.

The room is very nice and clean, with everything we needed. Little snack as well! The food in restaraunt is good, we chose buffet style dinner - a little pricey but it's good, a big variety! After dinner you can go to Onsen with the PJ and towel from the room, it's all nature hot spring, both indoor and outdoors. Imagine dipping in the Onsen while watching snow fall... just beautiful!

Free buffet breakfast was included in the morning! Yum! Overall it's a good stay!

Staff are very friendly although not very conversant with English. There are some Chinese speaking staff. Private onsen was very conducive and clean. Very spacious room with beds and tatami. Good Japanese restaurants in the hotel. Souvenir shop located at the lobby. Recommend self drive as the nearest village is about 20 mins drive away. 10 mins walk to the nearest ski resort. Will definitely visit the place during the next hokkaido tour.

The hotel had easy snow sports gear hire, free shuttle bus frequently in the morning however infrequent at night, the buffet was nice but a lot of food that was meant to be hot was cold, no other restaurants near by, nice view in the dining room, spacious rooms but rock hard beds and pillows, rubbish wasn't cleaned up by staff, staff speak limited English.

I'm not a big fan of hotels when travelling but this was really pleasant. Overall atmosphere beautifully calm and serene, very helpful and friendly staff, gorgeous tree surroundings and fantastic breakfast (included). Also very nice onsen. We had a western twin room which had a double and a single bed (think we paid more for non smoking) - it was very comfortable, completely quiet, and also unusually big by Japanese standards. Opening windows and dark curtains. We had a car which is helpful for choice of eating/skifields and as it is 15 mins to Grand Hirafu but there are free shuttles. Didnt try the main restaurant but had very good and reasonably priced sashimi and steamed dish (choice of four) at its mini restaurant the night we arrived. Other useful extras eg heated locker room for ski boots etc. Wasn't full while we were there but another good sign was that half at least of guests were Japanese.
Not cheap, but for Niseko area very well priced and we thought it good value. And for us, far far better than being in the thick of a resort town.
We stayed five nights and did not want to leave.

Overall a nice, modern, and well maintained hotel. I could tell that they are trying their best to make the stay as pleasant as possible with their in-house activities and facilities. I felt that they need to improve a bit more on their shuttle bus management as I encountered a few mistakes/inconveniences while trying to use their shuttle bus service.

Good hotel for your ski trip in Niseko

I went to Niseko for an overnight ski trip with 4 other friends. The hotel had a pretty sizable room that allowed 5 people to stay in one room so I chose this hotel. Our room had 2 beds and 3 futons. I chose a plan that included dinner and it's recommended because there aren't really any restaurants near the hotel. The dinner was great and the restaurant was clean and spacious. If you'll be arriving at the hotel late, you should contact the hotel beforehand and reserve seats in the restaurant for dinner. For breakfast, reservation wasn't necessary.

I can speak Japanese fairly well, so all communications between staff and I were done in Japanese, but other tourists were mostly foreigners so I'm sure the staff there can speak basic English. The hot spring was great (although pretty small), especially since it's outdoor and it feels so good to soak your body into a hot water in cold winter.

You can rent ski and snowboard equipment at the hotel and the hotel has a direct shuttle bus that goes to Annupuri ski Area for free.

One friend and I slept on bed while 3 others slept on futon. The bed wasn't the best ever, but I never felt uncomfortable while sleeping. My only small complaint is that I was charged a small fee for onsen tax (or something like that). It wasn't much, but I didn't know about it beforehand.

Overall, I recommend this hotel because of good price and services!

房間價位不便宜，預定的是四人房，照理說要準備四個人的床鋪，但是到達後卻只有兩個人的床鋪，要求多加兩張榻榻米，卻被告知因為小孩沒有算在內，多加要收費，語言不通的關係就算了。照這個邏輯來講，我以後不要輸入入住人數是不是就沒這個問題？？

洗衣房跟烘衣機在地下室，整個昏暗的像鬼屋，這麼大間的飯店洗衣間竟然只有兩台，等前面客人洗等超久，弄到好都快一點了；烘衣機也有夠爛，半桶而已一個半小時拿出來衣服還是濕的，烘了一個寂寞

綺麗な施設で温泉も硫黄の香りがして本格的です。片方のお風呂場は露天風呂の入り口が分かりにくいかもしれないので、見落とさないようにご注意下さい。スキーシーズンに利用したので、横に併設されているレンタルショップに館内から直接アクセスできるのは良かったです。前日5時までに到着できれば大きさ合わせてロッカーに入れて置けて、朝そのまま持っていけます。またお伺いしたいです。

部屋、食事、お風呂、スキーレンタルなどはとても良かったのですが、モイワスキー場へのバスを予約したのに予約が入ってなかったり、家族風呂の予約も入ってなかったことがありました。
