I have used this hotel several times as an overnight stay before an early morning ferry. It’s perfectly adequate in that context. It’s been recently refurbished since my last visit - they’ve done a nice job.
The restaurant next door is very handy and serves good food at reasonable prices

I found the bedromm a little chilly. Otherwise the hotel was very good. The attached restaurant is a bit hit and miss. Last time I stayed with my husband I reslly enjoyed the dinner, not so much this time.

Disappointing.

Turns out the restaurant was closed. We were given helpful advice on alternatives though. On arrival at our room though we were met with an over powering smell of air freshener. Why. What are they trying to cover up? Eco friendly? Not visibly. Paper non recyclable cups which are useless after one cup of tea, I had to run the water for 3 minutes to get it hot for a shower. No fridge in the room. Next door neighbour coughed ALL night. All in all not a great stay.

We had a fantastic stay. Room was spacious and comfy. Constructive critisim would be when cleaning don't forget the shower seals as this was quite grimey. An under counter fridge would have been a fantastic touch as we went to the shop each night to buy tea due to food intolerance. I did report the bathroom door also as being difficult to open and close. I did get stuck in there one evening so luckily husband was there to let me out lol.

Amazing hotel

The is a 3 star hotel but I’ve stayed in 4 star hotels that weren’t as good as this one. The reception area was so friendly, with lots of comfy seats with a cute little bar, the pool area was immaculate.

No restaurant on site - separate ownership restaurant not open until 7pm which is challenging with kids. We had requests and been promised interconnecting rooms, but while they were adjacent they didn’t interconnect and in spite of it saying online this is available, it doesn’t seem to be. That said, the beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms very clean, so no complaints there. Small rooms, not terribly charming but clean and quiet. .

Excellent for a short stay, one to three nights probably ideal. Good location to visit local sights. The Bayeux tapestry, the D Day beaches and the pretty town of Honfleur. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Simple and tasty breakfast. Everything very clean. Lovely pool. Easy parking. Perfect for transfer to the ferry.

Good find for a ferry trip

Excellent pre-ferry stopover.
It would be useful to know in advance that the parking is secure AND yhe hotel serves substantial snacks AND there is a restaurant next door owned by the same people. The shower room was quite small

good location

The staff is super friendly and welcoming, this is very close to the port but do not expect the view, most of the rooms to the parking lot side so you won’t have decent view. The breakfast is a bit over price 16 Euro. However, the location is fantastic if you travel to Normandy by ferry.

The hotel is clean and tidy the room we had was compact and functional. The location is disappointing to say the least it is in the middle of nowhere on the edge of a depressing trading estate.The only good point on location is that it is only10 minutes from the ferry port. Fortunately were only staying for one night prior to an early ferry. On the positive side there is a reasonable restaurant attached to the hotel even though its not mentioned and all the restaurant staff and hotel were lovely.

We stayed in a lot of hotels in our 7 day bikepacking tour and I can say this was at the best end of them.
The whole expereince was pleasant from the Staff and facilities
Rooms were airy
They had a pool we didnt use
Secure locked bike storage
The restaurant saved us going into the old town and expereince tourist food.
Overall cant praise them enough.

Adequate for being very close the ferry

Decided to book this as it was so close to the ferry which was leaving early next morning. The best that can be said (for me) is that it was adequate for that purpose. Bedrooms and bathrooms were formulaic and charmless. On balance, next time I’ll stay a little further away and end my holiday with nicer accommodation.

Don’t expect to eat here

The hotel is new and clean and well maintained , but if you need to eat I’d avoid this hotel . We are family of four with two small children , having driven from south of France all day we were using this hotel to catch the ferry early in morning . Arrived at 8 , and went to restaurant for something to eat having been left at the desk for 5 minutes at 8.27 and lady approached with menus when we requested a table said no service available and when questioned “ sorry you have no table in a restaurant occupied by 3 couples only “ yes we are closing and unbelievably turned her back and stood facing the other way in an arrogant and rude stance whilst we left dumbfounded . Minutes a later a local gent arrived and was seated immediately . The helpful lady at reception advised a restaurant to eat which meant getting our campervan out of the nightmare car park , and travelling for couple of kilometres. When we arrived back at 10.30 there were still people eating in the hotel restaurant, so the only conclusion is it was us being British or having small children meant we were unable to eat there .. shocking any UK travellers I’d avoid this hotel if possible

Two nights in the hotel where the staff were most helpful & attentive. Breakfast was good though more expensive compared to other such hotels. Very quiet at night. Dogs are not silent 'guests' & it's unfortunate they are allowed into dining areas. A popular hotel with a full parking area on both nights.

Friendly little hotel

We spent two night at the hotel to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and we’re not disappointed. The receptionist was very welcoming and helpful. Our room was modern and spotlessly clean. The restaurant alongside the hotel, which is under separate ownership was a great choice for dinner. So much so we didn’t hesitate in making a reservation for the second night when we had planned to look further afield and try something different. Our breakfast was included in the price and offered a wide choice of food and drinks.
This is a popular hotel with travelers who arrive late evening or depart early morning on the ferry.

Convenient hotel for early morning ferry. Lovely welcome from lady on reception . Room clean , bright , comfortable bed only downside were the ''square european pillows '' great for sitting up in bed but awful for sleeping. Just wish there was a choice of pillows.

Great location just outside the small village of Ouistreham and off a quiet road to the ferry. So handy for late night arrival or early morning departures. Receptionist/staff very helpful and accommodating. We booked three days so we could get our pcr tests done but so much to see we didn’t have time for the pool!

Disappointed.

Hotel is well placed for the ferry to Portsmouth, in spite of the hopeful wanderers trying to find a lift to the UK from their camp nearby. No sign of any security problems. The rooms are clean and the a/c efficient. Visitor beware! the hinge of the door of the bathroom fell away from the wall causing the door itself to fall on the unsuspecting guest. Accidents will happen and no harm was done. The attitude of the staff was inappropriate, unkind and unprofessional. Best Western has since apologised. In spite of the convenient situation, (a few minutes walk from a well stocked supermarket), and a few minutes drive from the ferry, I would not plan to stay there again until new staff had been appointed.

Ideal place to stay!

Stayed here overnight before our ferry crossing back to Portsmouth. It was our first stay here, having tried out several of the other hotels over the years. We were extremely impressed with all aspects of our stay. Easy to find, handy for the ferry, secure parking and a lovely welcome at reception! Added to that was a really comfortable bed, a very pleasant room and coffee/tea making facilities. Reception is open 24/7 and compared with some of the other hotels we have stayed in, this is good value for money. We didn't try the restaurant but it was pretty full, so would seem to be good. Definitely will stay here again.

Nice stop-over

One night stay, well worth it the way back for the early ferry. The car park is secured at night but not guaranteed so we had one eye on the gathering of unfortunates on the roundabout outside (and in Ouistreham too). Hotel is nice and comfortable, quite small but welcoming. The restaurant attached is not part of the hotel and is snooty and unwelcoming so we decided to go elsewhere. Le Roulis near the ferry was fantastic. Tea and coffee in the room was a bonus.

We were made very welcome by the overworked staff, who tended reception, bar, snack bar and everything else. Lesley, in particular went out of her way to tend to our needs.
The room was clean if basic, though I would have liked a second pillow.

Room was small with tiny shower room. Tea/coffee facilities tray had only two small plastic servings of milk. We were given two more but were told that two was the amount permitted. Dinner was poor, a matter of style over substance. Our duckling was about as tough as one could get.We had eaten all over France in the previous three weeks and this was by far the worst meal of all.Friendly reception but overpriced for what is offered. We will not be returning.

A little gem

A very nice small hotel that I just happened to find along our journey of the beaches of Normandy. The staff is lovely, they recommended some outstanding seafood restaurants within a very short drive from the hotel. There are mushrooms growing under the large pine trees out front, and rosemary plants about trust tall. The Pegasus bridge and it’s museum are only a few miles away, this is truly where the DD invasions began.
Please be sure to go into the small town Square near the hotel, there is a lovely bakery for your morning breakfast and a very nice little shop that makes handmade jewelry and other local handmade items. Wonderful for gifts.
