There was no hot water on the first night when we checked in at 9 p.m. The place warmed up quickly, but after a rainy day at CBeebies Land, we couldn’t take a shower. Thankfully, everything worked fine for the next two days.

The staff were superb, warm and welcoming, very efficient. When it comes to the communication- absolutely first class ! The text concierge is a great idea. In terms of the room then I cannot fault it. Superbly done equipped, spacious and spotlessly clean. Can’t remember the last time I was so positively surprised by a venue.

We enjoyed our stay, the pool was lovely and the pool staff were very friendly. The restaurant and bar was fantastic and we really enjoyed our meal there. The only thing we would offer as feedback is how check in is conducted. When we arrived, we were met with frustration that we had not 'read the terms and conditions' as we did not have our ID or a physical card for the damage payment. When I mentioned that we just hadn't seen it, I was told 'well it is there, you're the third person who hasn't read it today'. As this didn't end up being an issue (I was able to use my phone to make the payment and use a photo of my ID) I think it would be better to not make guests feel awkward right as they arrive! I would also say that the terms are not clear on hotels.com, as they are only visible behind a button on the booking page. I was sent an email before arriving with other instructions; if this was so crucial I would recommend putting it in that email also! This did make me feel less welcome than I would have liked. We did have a slight problem with our TV and this was sorted out very promptly.

A hotel with some good facilities but lacks essentials such as water pressure or in both showers (en suite and main) or coffee, even though a coffee machine is provided (but no beans or ground coffee).
Gym / Pool does not open until 8:30am and is adults only between 0830 and 0930 which is not ideal if travelling with children. Checkout is at 1000.
The hotel is situated down a single tiny lane which is around a mile long. Car damaged on overhanging branches and bushes (scuffs from twigs).
Decided to cook at home. There is a freezer with frozen meals (like a cooks freezer) but includes bulk cooked meals which are single portion. Kids Mac and Cheese is ~£10. Would’ve welcomed a cooks style lasagna for family for 4 as no local supermarkets.
No breakfast options available.

Overall it was OK, but I wouldn't recommend it. The property is somewhat old. And the facilities it has aren't really enticing. The gym is tiny and old, and has barely any equipment. The steam room wasn't working properly, and the sauna wasn't very hot. The crazy golf course needs a good clean really. The restaurant was OK/average. The grounds are kind of nice, but imo aren't worth it

Very sorry to write this but I have had no response from the hotel since April. There are rats in the walls in the main room (room 6) where we stayed. I offered to send videos of them to evidence this but it looks like they dont care

I am incredibly disappointed with my stay at Wychnor Park Resort and feel compelled to share my experience. From the moment I arrived, I encountered multiple issues that made my visit frustrating, uncomfortable, and, most upsettingly, emotionally distressing.
Firstly, the cleanliness of the room was well below standard. There was visible dust on surfaces, particularly on the window ledges, and the windows themselves were in poor condition. It was clear that proper maintenance and attention to detail were lacking, which is unacceptable for a resort of this supposed caliber.
Secondly, the sleep quality was terrible. The bed was not a proper king-size but instead two single beds pushed together, which made for an uncomfortable and restless night. Sleep is a fundamental part of any hotel stay, and this setup was far from what I expected.
However, the worst part of my experience—and the reason I am so upset—is how I was treated during a personal tragedy. I recently lost a family member, and in the midst of my grief, I requested to check out early and receive a refund for my unused night. As a Platinum member of Hotels.com, I have spent hundreds of thousands of pounds achieving that status, and yet my request was coldly refused without an ounce of compassion or understanding. In a moment when I was vulnerable and needed even the smallest bit of kindness, I was met with nothing but rigid, dismissive policies.

A beautiful heritage estate of large proportions and character. The history was fascinating. Staff were friendly and helpful. Facilities were superb. A beautiful country setting with beautiful views of the river and farmland. Well equipped rooms, with all appliances you could ever need. Rooms were cosy and warm. We loved using the pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Highly recommend and I would love to stay here again, given the opportunity.

Full of surprises and great for families
Our stay at Wychnor Park Country Club was fantastic. There were some issues with our accommodation but nothing that really ruined our short stay. When we arrived we were greeted by the fantastic staff and then went on to the apartment. Whilst only 2 bed it was huge and easily accommodated the 6 of us. Some minor cleanliness issues but not anything that ruined our trip. Facilities are fantastic and so much to do. The leisure centre was more than enough and suitable for our family, just a shame that it closed early on the Wednesday and couldn’t access it in the morning of our departure. But will definitely be looking to stay again and really enjoy the facilities. Some minor things that could be improved but all in all we really enjoyed our stay.

Nice cabin with plenty of space which included all the necessary cooking utensils which we required. However we chose this accommodation based on the fact it had a swimming pool, the pool was not opened at all on our whole trip. We later found out that the issues with the pool has began 4 days prior to our arrival, it would have been nice if this has been communicated with us.

This is a very dated property described as a country club . It’s been à timeshare previously has had some updating in ‘lodges ‘ . The facilities offered are poor with no restaurant or bar . Overall very run down . It’s needs an injection of planning and imagination to make it somewhere I would want to stay in sorry .

Fantastic stay and facilities, we thoroughly enjoyed out little hideaway. This place is a hidden gem and we definitely will be back. Only downfalls are the fact that it isn't advertised so well as this property has huge potential, gym is a little on the small side and it most definitely could do with a onsite restaurant for gain revenue for the place to maximise the income but it didnt effect our stay as we had all the facilities we needed in our lodge and planned on going out anyhow.

Wow! What an amazing provision this hotel gives its guests. A home away from home feel, plenty of creature comforts, an excellent pool facility, childs playground and crazy golf just as a starter! We stayed for a long weekend and throughly enjoyed it. Yes it is a bit out in the sticks but that’s part of its charm but you’re only 10 minutes drive from pubs and shops if you desire them. A great location to visit sites such as the National Memorial Arboretum, Alton Towers, Twycross Zoo & the Tamworth Snowdome.

Wychnor Park Country Club is a beautiful resort located just off the A38. So tranquil and peaceful yet not far from local areas to visit. So clean and well maintained, our apartment which housed 6 people was like a home from home. The leisure facilities were excellent too. Every staff member we encountered couldn't have been more friendly. Special mention to Esme who we met on arrival and was so thorough and polite, she created the perfect first impression. Also Tracy, who was equally friendly and utterly professional when we requested her assistance. As a family, we couldn't be more greatful to them all or speak highly enough of Wychnor Park.

Really good place we stayed in a log cabin and it had everything we needed, really good shower and kitchen , the only thing was when we pulled the sofa bed out there was someone’s old shorts in there which we binned. Staff were great and showed us where we could go for food and drink as there was nothing on site but they did have lots of food and drink you could buy and also local takeaways that deliver. The pool was great but it was really cold both times we went in, and the second time it was freezing. We also did the mini Golf which was really fun but there was leaf’s on the course making it a little bit harder to play. Over all this was a really good place and good value for money. Would love to come again in the summer when it’s busier !
