Worst hotel stay ever … you can skip this one.

A few bright notes: evening receptionist was accommodating and a pleasure to work with; external grounds were immaculate with plenty of parking; entrance lobby was clean and inviting.

The three rooms I looked at were clean but smelled funky. All had interior damage. (One had blood spatter on the pulldown shade!) The third room (cleanest smell) had a damaged shower curtain rod, no official room label (hand-written on the wall) and the door didn’t close properly (One had to push it shut!)

On the second/third floors, the smell of cigarettes and smoked meth emanating from several rooms, with uncollected trash left outside individual doors.

I took a shower and slept in my vehicle.

Staff was unavailable most of my stay during the evening hours from their front desk. Window blinds were absolutely disgusting and covered in dust and dead bugs. The rug and one chair in the room was covered in stains ranging from red blood like marks to brown stains. It felt disgusting to walk around the room without any type of protection on your feet whether that be socks or shoes. Also maintenance or cleaning staff was only available during the day time hours and never at night. Couldn’t get any clean sheets or towels after the cleaning staff forgot to give us new sheets or towels. Not recommended.

First, the hotel staff were excellent and very courteous. Appreciate that very much. We had a very late check-in. Experience with Expedia helpdesk was less than optimum. The bill from hotel did not match expedia rates and still working to resolve.. The issue was not with any of the agents but the overall process it took for us to get things sorted out. Around 4 AM, The family next door was haring a fight and loudly yelling bad words and kids and all of us woke up hearing that which left was not feeling very good. Since we only reached the hotel around midnight. Also, there was lot of smoke smell in the room even though we asked for nonsmoking. Still working with Expedia on the refund.

Rooms have funky odor. Staff was great and changed me to another one but still felt the odd smell. There was lot of smoking and weed doing on the property and inside the hallways. The AC also not adjustable inside the room. It’s auto on and off. During the night time it would get hot and suddenly cold. No pool. No breakfast. Gym is there but not even water and proper weights are present. This property looks like had its glory once upon a time. But currently in a bad condition. It has lot of potential but needs the necessary up keeping. Needs lot of improvements.

I was put into a room next to a family and it had an attached door. When I went to make sure my side of the door was locked my “neighbor” accused me of knocking on the door very loudly and decided to threaten me.

I went to the front desk and asked to be moved as my “neighbor” followed me down there.

The staff put me on the other side of this person instead of somewhere else in this big empty hotel.

The lobby smells like cannabis and cigarettes, and there are loud, cursing children running around.

I did not even spend the night. I left and found a new hotel to stay up.

Everything was perfect and way more better than expected. I would definitely stay again. The only thing that wasn’t communicated before hand was the 100 dollar safety deposit upon arrival. They told us it is refunded after the stay. Other than that, amenities were good and clean space.

Door didn't close properly, so you had to push/pull it shut. Paint was chipped and peeling around the door frame. The shower water took a while to get hot and while changing the temp. Part of a tile was broken and missing in the bathroom. There was a very strong musty smell throughout the room.

I’ve stayed at this hotel many times before when it was The Four Seasons and always had exceptional service so I expect nothing other than that. I noticed the name change but thought nothing of it. Besides I live in Newburgh. We stayed for Valentines. One night added later, I went to inform the front desk I was told they had to close out the first and open the second and charge a second deposit. We went back and forth, she called her manager Victoria who was very rude on the phone, I eventually just paid it. Customer service has went right out the window in this place. Later that evening I called for towels, from my cell phone cause they have no phones in the rooms. I was told by Jessica that she was with a customer and I needed to come to the front desk. I went out and as I expected, no customer and Jessica sitting legs crossed, at the front desk on her cell phone talking to her friend on speaker. She immediately gives me attitude because I was recording her and she goes on to say “You should have left when you had a chance”. Clearly referring to the morning incident that she was not present for. The rooms are poorly heated. Hot water is not hot. I was told it’s now privately owned by Victoria and it’s showing. Kids running through hallways. Weed smells. It’s becoming run down and turning into a hotel for our local DSS clients. Abandoned cars in rear parking area. Rude staff! Don’t book here if you looking for upscale customer service.

Crossroads is on the decline
My family and I have had multiple stays at The Crossroads over the last 5 years. My most recent stay was less than desirable. I booked a room for a king size bed and the bed was closer to the size of a Full. The curtains were stained and it bathroom ceiling looked like they had moldy spots.

We used to love staying here but the facility appears to be in the decline

I can say I did get a good rate for the 2 nights and the service at the desk and from housekeeping was good.

The room was ok. It was definitely outdated and they attempted to make some renovations but it fell short. Wallpaper was peeling and some areas in the bathroom could use some attention.

Staff were very good. Upon entering the third floor there was a massive leak on the ceiling and mold. When entering the room there was a leak in the corner of the room. The amount of noise was terrible with kids running up and down the hall screaming at 2am obnoxious and the amount of people having arguments and yelling at each on the hall in the early morning around 1am-3am was not ideal for people trying to sleep. Overall I would not recommend this place to anyone. No respect for other guest sleeping and staying there.

The rooms were not clean and were in need of repair. I stayed for two days and put up with these conditions but the third day we came back to a room that had a cockroach in it and smelled like it was rotting. We asked for a a new room and we’re given one that was a little bit better And we tolerated that but overall the facilities needed updating and a good cleaning.

In relative comparison to other hotels in the area this was the most promising option. I had no idea our room would also include an oversized jacuzzi and double head shower (we didn't get a chance to use the jacuzzi, but it was a great booking incentive for next stay). Very pleased with this choice.

The 10 ratings are obviously written and published by ownership. After staying here recently, I noticed that nearly all the 10 ratings were the same wording or very close. Upon check-in, the lobby looks good but he restaurant iand bar are closed. Our room was on the 3rd floor and after leaving the elevator, we were hit with a horrible moldy smell. Just 3 rooms down there were 2 garbage cans along the wall to catch water I presume. The walls were wet and stained as well as the ceiling. When we found our room, the door to the room had peeling paint and was dirty. This carried through the rest of the room as the closet doors (metal) needed paint and did not close. The bathroom door was paint peeled and dirty, along with the old not so clean bathroom. The rug in the room was stained with something pink and we noticed dead bugs in the ceiling corners. The window was FILTHY. The furniture and chairs were old and falling apart. Very noisy at 1 am. This might be used for section 8 housing. We were VERY disappointed. Check this one off your list

The perfect place for what we were asking. My brother and I stayed for one night as a stop on our travels further North. The staff was very pleasant, the room was clean, and parking was a breeze. We were able to grab dinner at the diner next door and we even went ice skating for an hour at the IceTime Sports Complex (a one minute drive) after dinner. We didn’t know what we’d be walking in to but it was an all around pleasant experience.

No promised amenities, no food, bar or working ice machines or available coffee unless specifically requested and retrieved by front desk staff. First floor smelled like sewer, 3rd floor ceilings poorly repaired and badly water stained and damaged. This is a space definitely not for tourists. Huge stains in carpets. Way overpriced for what it turned out to be. Don’t waste your time or money here, plenty of better options nearby.

With limited options in this area, it became evident that the AHLA lets this one through the cracks. My assumption is that it was a former Hampton Inn, which was purchased independently and the operating family is letting the building fall apart. Hotel room: missing eye hole in door, unplugged hotel phone, slow draining bathroom sink, stained curtains, smoke encasing smell, etc.. this operator is charging 4 star Hotel pricing for Motel-level experience. Most of the negative reviews were fairly accurate—thankfully no bed bugs or “cockroaches.”

1. Water stains on ceiling outside our room. 2. Water pressure in shower was terrible. 3. Cleaning crew walked into our room unannounced before 9am while we were still in bed. 4. When I tried to call the hotel to work out a scheduling problem they hung up on me twice. 5. The woman at the counter was extremely rude by cutting me off mid sentence 3 times. So much so, I asked to speak to the manager When she went to contact the manager, she slipped and fell on the floor being mopped. She then looked at me and said thanks. When I asked how it was my fault that she fell, she said I got her all flustered. 6. The manager never contacted me as requested - DO NOT STAY HERE EVER
