What a fabulous gem! If you told me it existed, I wouldn't have believed you. A gorgeously clean property; lovely room; fabulous little pool and amenities; a brilliant and inviting staff; a great restaurant and bar; and a decor that makes you remember that travel should be fun! I'll be back!!

This hotel was really cute & even told my family I wanted to come back since we didn’t get to enjoy it much due to only staying 1 night & exploring Hollywood we didn’t get to enjoy the pool or bar area. That was until I got home & my bank notified me that the hotel was trying to charge my card multiple times with random amounts. I immediately called and they said it’s mini bar charges for wine & beer.. what? I never touched anything in that fridge & the manager responded with well what about water? Anything? No one drank anything out of the fridge.. it was $100 then $34 … nothing in that bar was that much so really confused why that would happen… beware and monitor your account after leaving because they definitely tried to take my money for nothing!!

From the beautiful & unique hotel to the amazing service to the endless activities to the free shuttle service to the great location to the delicious restaurant and everything in between, we thoroughly enjoyed every single moment at the garland!! Whether you're travelling for business or for pleasure, whether you're travelling solo or as a family or group or a couple, there's legitimately something for everyone! Can't recommend enough and so beyond happy I came across it!

Really friendly staff, room was clean and nicely remodeled. Didnt love the hotel room right outside the elevator and sandwiched by the freeway but thats the luck of the draw. Everything else was nice, comp trolly to Universal was amazing and reliable.

We really loved this hotel. Close to the freeway so there is some traffic noise, but they have a lovely patio area that's quiet, great pool and hot tub, good restaurant, and the staff was extremely accommodating. We already stayed there again and will use it as our NoHo hotel from now on.

This is a beautiful property, it makes you feel like you’re somewhere other than “the city”, yet you are minutes from Universal Studios. Poolside bar/food, lively restaurant, amazing pool area, music in the courtyard, cute little gift shop and super clean rooms are some of the highlights. Next time we’re in the LA area, we will stay here again!

The property itself it is very pretty and well kept, the rooms were clean and beds comfortable! The staff was extremely nice and courteous. A plus is the tram for free, that takes you to Universal Studios multiple times a day and back. It was the perfect stay! I can only recommend this hotel.

The staff were amazing except for the rude front desk lady who wouldn’t help me and was dismissive. However, Gober was very nice and incredibly helpful. Dominic the bellman went above and beyond. The property was amazing except it would be nice if the secret garden wasn’t chained and locked when not rented out.

I really loved the retro, 70’s decor and the fireplaces in the lobby and the pool area. Breakfast at the restaurant was excellent. There was lots of parking convenient to the rooms. I would go back the next time I end up in LA.

We loved staying at The Garland! Such a cute hotel with a lot of character and charm. Everyone from the front desk person who checked us in, to all the staff in the halls, store, pool, and especially the restaurant, were incredibly friendly and kind. Movie nights at the pool were a fun bonus, and all the food was delicious.

This hotel offers excellent service, well-designed spaces with a fun atmosphere, and an above-average onsite restaurant. We chose it for its proximity to Universal Studios. The hotel caters to families visiting the park and provides a convenient shuttle service.

However, the hotel also hosts business events, which can create noise issues. During our stay, an event in the theater became disruptive. When I mentioned this in their post-checkout survey, the hotel responded that they \"did not expect it to become loud until midnight.\" For a family with a young child, this was problematic. Even in the \"quiet\" section of the hotel, the noise kept us awake.

I'd still recommend this hotel, but advise checking the event calendar before booking. If noise is a concern or you're traveling with young children, request a room away from the courtyard and pool area.

The front desk staff were not welcoming and condescending when I asked for another room because the sliding patio door was broken and off the track. Then I was switched to another room and the sink was plugged. The next morning one of the same front desk staff yelled out as I walked by in a very condescending tone and asked about the new room which was unnecessary to yell out in front of everyone.

I want to repeat our trip just to stay at the Garland again. This hotel is wonderful. Although it is close to the highway, we didn't hear any noise. The beds are super comfortable and all of the decor and fixtures are high quality (more so than typically found in hotels). One small detail that delighted us, the door to the room props open.

We decided to dine at the restaurant and were blown away by the quality and delicate balance of flavors. Absolute perfection. And the staff at the restaurant had a natural rapport – we felt as though we were treated as close friends.

Everything about our stay was above average and outstanding.

Angel was so great with the check in and gave a gift to my kid. The property was well maintained, clean and very family friendly. However there needs to be ventilation in the family rooms as my kids were hot. The AC unit did not evenly distribute through the room. The breakfast was good. The trolley to and from Universal was excellent. Thanks again, Angel!

Ventilation fans came on at 02:00 very loudly and woke us up.

The engineer had to switch it off for our stay as it seemed to be on permanently.

We loved the family room setup with queen bed and bunk bed! The kids love having their own bed nook. We also enjoyed the heated pool and spent a lot of time there. It was a nice reprieve from Universal Studios mid-day. The restaurant and pool-side food were good quality for a hotel. The trolley to Universal was also appreciated, although the timing didn’t work great for us, so we did take Lyft one time.

Very nice hotel, modern amenities with retro decor and styling. Great shuttle that runs to Universal City walk every hour. Great for families but quiet and away from the universal chaos, making it a nice place for other travel as well. Restaurant on property looked great! Just didn’t fit into our plans
