Cheap and basic needs- you get what you pay for.
I needed a cheaper place but this just wasn’t great. I guess you get what you pay for. It gave us a place to sleep and had the very basics. Bed was comfortable but the sofa bed had a sink to it. The room smelled of cheap cleaning supplies. Shower had mold in it. Parking was so tight and unaccommodating. I didn’t see bugs but assumed they were there somewhere.

Beds wete uncomfortable, pullout \"bed\" was small, (toddler size) but advertised as full bed, and mold was in the shower. I was unable to change rooms or get a refund. Additionally, check in was required at a different hotel, unless you happen to be there at the tight time. The emails and phone calls conflicted with each other.

Hotel was way overpriced for what we got. No staff available 99% of the time. Had to drive a mile down the road to their other hotel, the nite inn, for any service. Parking lot was absolutely awful and way too small with a SUPER steep incline to get out. Hotel rooms were outdated, old, and not very clean. We saw mold on the window shutters and the showers were gross. The only positives were that the room had a microwave, mini fridge and the distance it was from universal studios. Not a great area, would not recommend.

On a scale of 5, I'd give it a 1. The rooms are very small. The shower drain clogged and water leaked from the bathroom to the bedroom. When I mentioned to Manager, he said it would be 2 hours before they get to it. Cleaning service did not come until about 6pm each day which was very inconvenient. There was inadequate space in the parking lot to maneuver my car when all spaces were taken. The freezer of the refrigerator was iced over. The office at the El Patio Inn was around 4-10, so getting a key involved going to a different location. Outlets protruded from the walls.

Everything worked like the air conditioner, tv, mini fridge, microwave etc. The room was cleaned and beds made every day which was nice. It was only a few minutes from Universal Studios so I would say the value was good for the price.

A great place to stay for a universal trip
This was a great budget hotel for our trip to universal studios! We would definitely stay again. Rooms were clean and in good condition, front desk staff was friendly, and there is free parking. After 7pm you have to check in at a different hotel but the staff at El Patio Inn make you very aware of that and where the hotel is. Great location for universal studios, there’s a bus stop a two minute walk away and it’s just 3 stops to the universal shuttle. Great hotel!

Black mould in the showers, dirty sheets greedy finger prints on the walls and being ground floor with sketchy neighbours made it feel extremely unsafe and would not budge when alerted about black mould and need to check out early. Would NOT recommend.

Have to check in and at different inn. Nobody working the inn. Parking lot was extremely compact and i have a small car. Found a milipede in the bathroom first night then a roach in the morning. Called the number provided no answer. Called the inn that i checked in with and she was very rude and snarky about the fact i found a roach. Went to use the 2nd roll of toliet paper on the last day and found reddish strains into the sides of the the toliet paper. I would never recommened this place to anyone, i dont care how close it's to universal studios.

I liked that I had a room that was not connected to others but it was not comfortable. Small quarters, little furniture, blinds didn't block the lights on all night. The noise was ok if you turned on the loud air conditioner and portable fan/heater. Internet didn't work at all.

The front desk guy was courteous but when we came back the door key was not working, no one was at the front desk, I called the number and he asked us to go to another hotel 2 miles away to get another key. We were tired and upset with this since we had reserved for 2 days and 2 nights. I would never come back to this hotel and will probably not do reservations throughout Expedia again.

I reserved a room some of my employees to stay while in town for business and after showing up at the property they refused to stay there due to the lack of cleanliness and the people in and around the property. Although I had not checked in yet the property first agreed to refund my money less one night of three and then at the last minute refused to any refund.

AWFUL! Dirty, dingy, bugs! No baths (though picture shows one) Read the fine print! WORST hotel I’ve seen north of the boarder. Nutbuogradrd since 1980, it appears. Small, dirty, bugs, asked for a refund (only shower, no tub - daughter w special needs required bath,) they said $40’more I could have the ONE room with a bath! Asked for refund after seeing bugs (NO OUTLETS NEXT TO BES FOR CHARGING ELECTRONICS,) so I moved the headboard and there were bugs! They refused. SHOCKING this hotel is listed on hotels.com - more shocking it’s rated this high (seems improbable!) PAY MORE SOMEONE ELSE. You will regret staying here!

The rooms were outdated and plain, but provided us with just the basic needs. Over all cleanliness was good and they are attentive to your needs if you ask. The staff was very kind, honest, and helpful. We misplaced a phone and they immediately notified us when they found it. We appreciate this place and would stay again. We recommend El Patio Inn if you are looking for an eccentric, but minimal styled place to rest your head.

Parking is first come so if you are arriving late, there may not be a parking spot. I was told to park on the street outside of the property! The only spots outside were in the parking meter areas! The air conditioner inside also smelled musty when it was on. Overall it served it's purpose for a quick place to sleep before heading to universal studios.

LACK of Respect and Decency towards Guest
They did not provide the proper amount of toilet paper for 4 people the first night (half a roll). So, we called front desk on the first day, if they can provide us with some for the rest of our stay or at least with 1-2 rolls more and will go pick it up (which is about a mile & a half away at another hotel). They refused at first because we have requested no service while we were there. We do not like people going into our hotel room & touching & moving our stuff around. We feel that as a guest, we should have that preference respected (invasion of privacy). This is why we requested \"no service\" & called to request toilet paper ahead of time. They finally said that they will have the housekeeper drop it off in the morning at 10am. We would not be in the room & we were not going to be waiting until then. We were on vacation & wanted to be at Universal Studios early (ridiculous to wait on toilet paper). Well, we had to accept those terms & to come back around 1am from the park to realize there was no toilet paper. We called front desk & they had us drive the mile & a half to the other property at 1am & mind you we were exhausted from the day. How petty to treat a guest like this for a reasonable request & have them drive in the middle of the night instead of treating a guest with respect & decency. Especially, when we were asking politely, at a reasonable hour, & willing to go get it. I can go on & on about service. Blatantly rude & very poor service. NEVER AGAIN
