Super clean, very quiet, nice-sized room and bath. Wonderful, easily walkable central location close to the Metro. Friendly and customer-centric staff. The mattress felt like it was end-of-life (or needed to be rotated?), but the linens and topper made it comfortable enough. Don't bother with the in-room coffee, as it's pretty awful, but excellent fresh-brewed coffee is available in the lobby reception area. Overall, it was decent value for the price point, and I'd recommend it.

It was clean, and quiet. The staff were helpful and friendly. I liked the location because it was a few blocks from the national mall and restaurants. The only thing I recommend the hotel to do is to lower the beds in the ADA room because it was too high. Other than that it was a GREAT experience!

Loved the property. Bed was super comfortable. Location was amazing. Room is soundproof. Staff is really nice with exception of the guy in the restaurant that treated us so weird the first night that we didn’t come back the other 3 nights. Instead we just walked across the street.

We were there for a day event and we were famished every night when we got home. He acted like we were lost when we came to see if we could get a seat and then the second night fully ignored us. Oh well…

Otherwise everyone was so wonderful. Especially the guys at the reception desk and our housekeeper. Our room was cleaned so well when we came back every day. It was immaculate. And we always had fresh water stocked.

I loved the Hotel stay with my family. The perfect location, near everything, great patio to sit and watch the world go by, loved the breakfast option. The room, large single king was very nice, neat city view, very nice bathroom, wonderful shower. Very quiet rooms considering being in a downtown. Really what ever we needed or asked was attended to. I loved the yoga class, the instructor was great, I know it was not well attended but I would have loved more and a early time.
Thank you for making our DC trip a truly amazing experience.

This property was incredible! The location, cleanliness, and attention of the staff was beyond expectations. The room was filled with amenities - hair dryer, iron, toiletries, water, cappuccino machine and the list goes on. The staff was super friendly and VERY helpful. The room was very clean and serviced every day. My only issue with the hotel was the cost of breakfast. We ate in the dining room one morning, I completely understand paying premium cost for a french meal but scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, oatmeal, and coffee should not cost $78.99. Not french eggs, not prepared a different way, no special oatmeal.. plain American food.. That was an unnecessary cost.

They put me above their live jazz band. Apparently you have to pay extra to be able to sleep. If this place was cheap, I'd get it. But not for this price. They moved me to a \"quieter\" room (it wasn't quiet) and the new furniture smelled of new leather. The smell was so strong, it was all over the sheets and pillows. The smell woke me up through the night, it was so strong. And there were other...questionable smells on the bed.

I left several nights early because I couldn't take it. This place is atrocious.

Let me start by saying I would stay here again. There were just little things that made the stay less than a five star stay. First I went to DC with a total of five people elderly ladies. I contacted the hotel directly before I arrived to discuss the three room’s I booked. I wanted them on the same floor, next to one another would be ideal, but I get it. They told me that since I booked through a third party they could not accommodate that request. So we ended up on three different floors. Next we pre-purchased breakfast each day. The woman server in the breakfast room was great, friendly and fantastic. The gentlemen, need some work on customer service. We had $180 to spend each day for breakfast, what ever the total, I gave the rest to the wait staff in a tip. So we ended up tipping really well each day, no need for subpar treatment. It’s awful that my mom wanted a glass of water but did not want to bother the waiter because he was irritated she wanted something else.
Hotel bed was very comfortable, room was clean, cleaning staff excellent, free waters daily and coffee. Refrigerator was present but not very cold. Water pressure not great.
Location could not be better for attractions. Was central to most things we wanted to do.
All in all it was a fantastic stay, we all enjoyed our time there.

I really enjoyed the Sofitel, first time staying at one. It was clean, linens very comfortable, robe so cozy. Bathroom so convenient, nice shower, loved the fan system in bathroom.
Quiet property in DC.

Dinner and breakfast very nice. Loved the coffee in the carafe at my table.

Housekeeping did not replenish coffee did not take any garbage out of the room, even though it was piled up by the door for three days They did make the bed and replenish towels every day. One day did not secure my door when they left. It was left open. I’ve stayed at this hotel quite a few times and sister hotels in different cities I do thoroughly enjoy this brand and it won’t stop me from coming back. I’ll just speak up faster next time.it

This was the ideal location for exploring the museums, the Capitol, and the monuments. Close to Penn Quarter’s great restaurants. A block Lafayette Square and the White House. Staff were welcoming and accommodating. We enjoyed outdoor dining in addition to a brasserie.

Listen, they let me down throughout my stay.My check in experience was terrible..then i had to extend by 1 day cos my flight is 10pm .i informed front desk day before, then wend sightseeing since 9am, came back at 3pm hoping to find a nice clean room. But no one touched my room.i had to wait in the lobby still waiting whilst i am writing this review for God knows how long defeating the whole point of paying for an extra day as i could have just checked out and stay in lobby all day whilst waiting for my flight!!!

Beautiful hotel. They told us all in room supplies were free but there was only a few coffee pods there. Also, there was only 1 washcloth and 1 hand towel. At such a nice hotel I wouldn’t expect them to be chinch about supplies.

We were also double charged for parking and they wouldn’t credit us for it without a receipt emailed to them, but we never received a receipt. we showed them the charge on our credit card app, but that wouldn’t suffice. Again, for such a nice hotel you would think they would just credit it.

It is a very beautiful hotel that is very easily accessible by metro and easy access to basically all of our points if interests (smithsonians, parks, museums, etc). I would say the immediate area in any direction for like 2-3 city blocks is pretty safe (it was just my best friend and I, two women traveling) - there a police car posted on a corner every single day at all hours which gave a sense of security. However, after the 2-3 city blocks, one of the directions had a bunch of homeless tents. Nothing at all compared to skid row here in LA, but still a significant amount.
Hotel staff was amazing and very accommodating, we ended up with a lot of leftovers that we were able to refrigerate, but there was no microwave that came with our room. We asked the the staff if there was anywhere we could microwave, and they dropped off a microwave! Also, they offered complimentary bottles of water, that was very nice.
Loved the hotel, very clean, very accommodating. They have books available if you want to read at night because most everything closes rather early in that area and surrounding area (like 9pm or earlier) so if you're a night owl, you'll have to travel further (but I would not recommend metro anymore - for safety reasons).

The room configuration was very strange. It seemed to be designed for a single ASA person. Thank goodness I packed ear plugs because the bed was at the door and the door would rattle and you could hear anyone walking down the hall or opening/closing their door. The A/C would constantly switch on and off loudly throughout the night. The TV was positioned over a desk that was not viewable from the bed or the couch. Never watched. The bathroom had a single sink but two showers and a tub. Just weird. Also, the bed only had a bottom sheet and a duvet. No duvet cover or top sheet. Hover, the bed was comfortable and the room overall was clean.

The host Also , we ended up going to Riggs for breakfast one morning because the breakfast menu was very mediocre and eating it for 3 days in a row got very old . Dinner menu is not bad but also only if you eat there once , they don’t even offer daily specials that would add a little variety .

Lovely hotel, courteous staff and good facilities. The communal areas seemed very dark and in need of a refurbishment.
Disappointed to find that the full cost of the breakfast was not included in my room rate even though that was what o thought I had agreed to. It seems you are only allowed one item off the breakfast menu to avoid extra charges. Also I was not aware of the additional daily urban experience fee of $40 (incl tax) charged to my account which increased the bill significantly. I think a hotel of this quality should be more transparent with its charging.

We got our room 1.30 hour later than the 3 ocklock check in time. We were supposed to get a text and never did. The water in the rooms are tasting like really bad. DO NOT DRINK THE WATER. When we addressed the issue the front desk was just like we have told the corporate about it and thanked us. There is no public facilities so I don’t understand why there is a 40$ “resort fee”. Overall not that great for a 5 star hotel.
