I can't tell you how much I love Luton Hoo, it grounds, trees, and peace. I wish the house and the staff well over the next 3 years refurbishment. Madga, Chris and Pooja were particularly wonderful but the hotel's staff are so passionate and wonderful and it really shows. This was our 5th visit and I can't wait for our 6th. Thank you Luton Hoo team so much!

Unfortunately our stay did have a few hiccups that the staff tried their best to rectify but in the end it just made for a bit of an uncomfortable staying and leaving experience. May be something to do with the upcoming 2-3 year renovation of the hotel but definitely felt like a few things were off for a 5 star experience. Would place it somewhere around a solid 4.

Nice setting, but that's about it. Golf course is closed, as is associated 19th hole. Property is about to undergo renovation and it needs it. No bar, all silver spoon esque table service in lounge seats. Nowhere comfortable to work except in the room, which was generous in space with good provision but also very dated. Wouldn't stay again, not what I was looking for in a business stay hotel.

Nice setting and grounds. Work seems to have started on a 3 year renovation project. Parts of the interior are worn out but its probably lasted many decades and the estate was very clean. Staff were very helpful.

We realised in the bar why someone would want deliveroo as no bar snacks/light bites available, no room service and if you want maybe we can get a starter from the restaurant menu, but nothing more!

Checkout, no one to help with luggage again.

We stayed at Luton Hoo last year and were impressed with how dog-friendly they were – they even set a proper dining table for us in the main hall so we could enjoy breakfast comfortably with our dog. That’s why we chose to return.
This time was the complete opposite. When we asked for the same arrangement, the manager was rude and dismissive, saying “no, we can’t accommodate you.” When I explained it had been done before, he told me it was “a mistake” and then walked off. We were left balancing plates on our knees on sofas by a constantly opening door – hardly the experience you expect at a 5-star hotel.
When we asked again, staff simply said “the manager has already spoken to you” and he refused to come back out.
It was embarrassing, uncomfortable, and a far cry from the standard of hospitality Luton Hoo claims to offer. If you advertise as dog-friendly, guests shouldn’t be treated like an inconvenience. Very disappointing, and sadly we won’t be returning. We were made to feel unwelcome and this is not dog friendly.

The hotel is about to close for 3 years for refurbishment which we weren't advised of when we booked. There was skeleton staff, not the usual Luton Hoo we have experienced over the last 8 years.

The air con has not been working for over 2 months. The hotel do not advertise this and still sell the rooms at full rates. It was a very unpleasant experience and so unfortunate. We stayed when there was a heatwave (over 30 degrees Celsius).
The hotel manager offered his apology and didn’t offer anything substantial to compensate for This. He only offered a free afternoon tea or an upgrade only if I decided to stay again at the hotel. That’s not really a compensation as that requires spending at least £200 for an overnight stay.
The hotel will close in September 2025 for 3 years for a refurb. All the staff except for grounds staff are being made redundant. You can tell staff morale is low and not motivated. Feel sorry for them.

The room we stayed in was shabby and dingy, there was no air-conditioning and the temperature was uncomfortable. There was a smell coming from the kitchen vents.

Bad start nice end
We spent about 60 mins before we were offered a suitable room. It’s a lovely place but old. The rooms in mansion house have old furniture and in the first room a bath that could easily be 40 years old. It was not clean and so the very friendly staff showed us 4 other rooms all the same and we picked the best of them but still very dissatisfied because it had very poor WiFi. We were about to leave but they showed us a room in parklands. If you stay there it’s very nice quiet and a king bed( mansion house have doubles?!) room 104 very nice . Bad start it we had a very nice time. Spa is nice and dinner steak is very good.

It is a lovely hotel and such a shame it is shutting in a few months. Our experience was not as great as the first time as a lot of drinks were not available, and there is only one restaurant left on site. We were not given any slippers in the spa, house keeping didn’t refill the shower gel and shampoo and there was just not enough staff to serve at the bar.

we had to have a burger!! for my partners birthday lunch as the other choice was a sandwich.On the dinner menu I chose artichoke risotto,the rice was not cooked and the artichoke consisted of 3 outside leaves that were burned totally not just chared as stated, no artichoke in the dish at all,and it was tepid at best,as was the soup.
.The room was very ordinary and a long walk from the main building and with no opening windows.
Pretentious , totally overpriced rip off.

this place is just outside of luton (around a 5 minute drive). we arrived on the night and was greeted by a lovely man at the gate who asked for our booking (instantly made us feel safe). we were then told where to go and arrived to the mansion house where you can park right outside the building. we walked into reception and we were immediately greeted with smiles and the staff were incredibly kind. we were showed to our room which was absolutely amazing. we had a day at the spa, in luton and also in the pool facilities which were at lovely temperatures. we got into bed and were very upset to have to go home the next day so we made the decision to stay another night seeing as the staff were all very polite, well mannered and dressed. overall the staff were absolutely amazing and accommodated to our needs in an amazing way.

The new owners are cleary not interested in spending on infrastructure and repairs.

Set in a large country estate the hotel has the convenience of bei g 15 mi s from town and airport but the feel of being in the country. Roo.s were large, spa is open 630 to 9pm weekdays. Walks around the grounds to see wildlife are peaceful.

We went to the spa and this was a bit disappointing, there were no locker keys so had to take my clothes and bag into the swimming area. We were told we would be given gowns and slippers but they didnt have any , we had to wait for somebody to go and find gowns but they didnt have slippers.
The showers did not have any shower gel or shampoo the bottles were empty.....the machine to spin costumes was broken and no plastic bags for wet costumes
The water bottles to get a drink in the Pool were empty!

One night stay prior to flying early out of Luton. Warm welcome by reception staff. Room nice and big, bed comfy but on the small side! We had dinner in the lounge. I had pe and mint veloute which was pretty bland. My husband had beef sliders which he said were tasty. There were staff around but not very attentive. No draft beer which always disappoints my husband. Very surprised that all the staff we asked knew nothing of the history of the Hotel!? What a shame, I researched myself but it would have been good if they knew. Lounge area pretty tired but I note the place is closing for changes in late September. Grounds were great and would have been nice to have more time to use the pool and spa facilities. Would definitely come again

The nineteenth hole, also known as the clubhouse, was not open during my visit. The only available bar was a small and uninspiring lounge in the main hotel. I would not have made a reservation if I had known this at the time of booking. Additionally, the gym and spa were in poor condition—tired and dirty—urgently needing the planned upgrades. I wouldn’t consider returning until all the necessary refurbishments have been completed, especially not at the current cost.

Standards fell well short of expectations for its reputed 5-star status. This is definitely not a spa, nor was it in any way a relaxing spa experience. Pool area was cold, poorly maintained, dirty, untidy. Restaurants were closed or full; lounge food was very delayed and Luke warm once arrived. Staff were very pleasant and doing their very best, whilst recognising (and saying to us) the hotel was ill managed and couldn’t cope. Room was ok, stifling hot, dusty around and under bed, old and tired. We wasted £350.

A wonderfully escapist stay in a blissfully romantic setting. The bedroom was stately with a titanic en suite bath and an enchanting view. The stair case made gone with the wind lòok low rent. The dining room was wonderfully lit with spot on service and a menu that turned out to be much more delicious than it sounded. Breakfast was great with an array of extras that could be cooked on demand at no extra cost. The grounds were huge, and the formal gardens like an MR James adaptation as were the rather neglected but stunning rock gardens. All the food got burned off swimming lengths of the pool and in the sauna which were both excellent.

A beautiful location but as a hotel, the room was looking rather tired. Old worn taps in the bathroom, thin towels that smelt strongly of peroxide. And the TV didnt work. Many of the doors in corridors where also looking chipped and worn. I would call it a 3 star hotel no more despite the beautiful tapestries on the walls. Large comfy bed though, and breakfast was good, though at an extra £20 it should be.

Luton Hoo is a stand- out hotel and spa with breath-taking opulence and grandeur. Its grounds are vast and stunning. From the minute you arrive staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. Nothing is too much wherever you go. The restaurants provide allergy- friendly options and there is a wide choice of foods. Concierge services provide cars to drive you to and from the spa which is only a 3-4 minute walk. Peacocks frequent the site so look out for these outside your window! The spa facilities are everything you need for that total sense of well-being. Staying here is a real treat, perfect for rest and relaxation.

The TV did not work, the toilet was very finnicky to flush, and the towel rack did not heat up. They were kind enough to offer us another room, but it was too late at night for us to be bothered. The ground were beautiful 10/10, the swimming pool and steam felt a bit like a lido - not the cleanest. The staff were friendly but not the most professional. The rooms are a good size but they need alot of love and a lick of paint. It has potential to be a five star property if someone took over and invested a lot of money into it, but as of now i would rate it 3* or 4 star max. The price does reflects 3 or 4 star, overall it was good to see once but I won't be going back.

The hotel was 19th Century charm but the bathrooms were early 20th century and not so charming. I also found the staff less than helpful. I requested twice that because the comforter in the duvet was too warm to please remove it. After 2 nights, I did it myself. I was also assured the rooms had in-room safes. What I wasn't told that it was in the top of the cabinet reachable only by standing on a chair. I asked for a stool and was told that wasn't possible. I lost a coin purse with 60 pounds in it and their lack of care or concern were remarkable. If they find it does turn up even with the 60 pounds, I'd like it sent to me.

The swimming pool and spa area was lovely and the grounds around the hotel are of outstanding beauty. We ate at the Brasserie in the stable block. The food was delicious although quite pricey.

However, it is quite apparent that there has been no investment to the property and it is looking tired, scruffy, dirty and not well maintained. Such a shame. Appreciate the hotel is old-fashioned however the fittings need to be updated.

The prices are exorbitant, and the service is one-star hotel standard. Everything is old. The taps are leaking. The toilet is black from dirt and old age. The food is poor. Cutlery and plates of the twentieth century. The staff don't say hello. At the reception, they give wrong information. They gave me a cheaper room than I paid for. Instead of a king-size bed, I was placed in a room with a double bed. I'm very upset.

Beautiful property and accommodation. Everything was perfect for 4 adults and 1 child. We had two rooms which were very spacious, well anppointed and clean. The service here is outstanding, very friendly staff willing to go above and beyond to assist you in every area. We were offered an upgrade due to being on crutches which was greatly appreciated and our room was beautiful but perhaps a bit basic in comparison to similar hotels we’ve previously stayed at. The junior suite does have a separate sitting area which would be wonderful on a longer stay. The grounds are stunning and our bed was very comfy and we had a good nights sleep despite there being no air con in the mansion itself (provided with fans that did a good job tho). The biggest disappointment for us though was the breakfast. Breakfast was included in our package but the service we received was terrible. We waited 30 minutes for coffee to arrive. There were no clean glasses, no clean plates, the spoons tasted of metal. It was just pretty disappointing given the cost of the stay and the fact that we’ve stayed at premier inns with better breakfast!! Apparently the fact we were upgraded means we should just accept the poor service- this is what I was told when I made a complaint! We wouldn’t stay here again on balance, as I can say we felt the staff were brilliant and it had lots of positives but the breakfast and customer service really let the hotel down.

Grand hotel in beautiful grounds. The pool and leisure areas are well maintained and good quality. We had lunch in the brasserie and dinner in the main restaurant and both were very good. The tasting menu in the restaurant wasn’t Michelin starred level but was still very good cooking and both food and wine good value for money. Service was mostly very good aside from a few moments. The lounge area was a little tired but still ok, we sat mostly on the outdoor terrace with nice views

What a greeting from doorman Chris as we arrived !! So full of knowledge and stories about this historic property. And then the Reception staff could not do enough for us - absolutely first class and made our stay with an 8mth old memorable.
Slight disappointment with the room service team - comms weren’t great and food arrived 1.20hrs later, and wasn’t good. But likely a very busy night for the kitchen. Breakfast service made up for it and was wonderful. Plus we swam and played golf - all superb! We’ll definitely be back !!

We celebrated my husband’s 50th birthday with a 2 night stay at The Luton Hoo. The experience from start to finish was nothing short of exemplary. Our suite was incredibly clean, comfortable and luxurious, the spa was fantastic and the food was excellent. But the thing that stood out the most for us was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Every single one of them was polite and went out of their way to make our stay perfect. Would highly recommend.

This place is always lovely to stay, unfortunately we were let down with the restaurant booking due to Easter. Having said that we were very nicely compensated and had what was a fabulous meal in the alternative restaurant. The staff are all exceptional too, the room yet again blew us away. Pure class, luxury witb beautiful surroundings. Luton Hoo is my favourite hotel.

I like the beautiful historic building and landscaped parkland. I didn't like the additional charge of £50 per night for a child bed that I wasn't informed of when I requested one. I also didn't like the fact that the pool could only be used by families with children at specific times - again I was not informed of this before I arrive. Also, the restaurant and bar closest to our room was closed throughout our stay for no apparent reason which meant we had to eat out both nights.
