The hotel was ideal for the one night stay we needed prior to attending a funeral locally. The staff at check in/out were professional, polite and friendly. The restaurant staff were also very friendly, attentive and engaged in conversation. The breakfast was exceptional, with plenty of choice depending on guest’s preferences!

Had a fantastic stay here with my 2 grandchildren. Kids eat free which i thought was fantastic. We used Lynxx taxis to travel from station to hotel and from hotel to warner bros studio and back they were excellent. Set fare and were by us in minutes, highly recommend.
The staff were friendly, caring and polite all through the hotel. The room was spot on. The pool was lovely, it was warm and not to crowded. I thought the facilities were spotless. The meals in the restaurant were really good and not over priced. I will definitely use this hotel again if coming to London. Area lovely and there is an m&s food next door for water or milk if needed. Hotel in general was spotless and well maintained.

Staff were excellent, from check-in to check-out they were brilliant. Derek was amazing and was a real credit to the hotel. He was so attentive to everyone he came into contact with and is brilliant with both children and adults, he certainly has a real way with people. Fahd, the head-chef was really friendly and positive. It was nice to see both enjoying what they do and it showed!

The hotel may have been busy though so it might have been the only available room? The hotel was easy to find and had a lovely modern reception area and bar. our room was AMAZING! A premium room which was more like a suite with separate hallway and bathroom area. It was huge and great for us and two children. Complimentary minibar with snacks and drinks. The room was on the ground floor right by reception so was really handy. The staff were really friendly and helpful and gave our daughter a certificate for her harry potter drawing. Breakfast was fantastic, lots of choice and constantly being topped up by staff. Our first ever stay in a holiday inn and we will definitely be back! Our only downside was the swimming pool - the changing room floors were very dirty and the pool area could definitely do with an upgrade. apart from that - perfect!

I stayed here on a recent business trip and, unfortunately, the experience fell well below expectations.

Check-in: The queue was extremely long with only one person on the desk. Another guest knocked on the office door and we could see three staff inside not serving. Only one additional person eventually came out, and when we asked if a third could help, we were told two was “enough.” This created an avoidable delay and a poor first impression.

Pool area: While it’s a plus that the hotel has a pool, the upkeep needs urgent attention. I observed brown discolouration in multiple corners and general signs of inadequate maintenance, raising basic cleanliness concerns.

Bar and night management: After the bar closed, our small group returned with one drink each from across the road and sat quietly in a downstairs area. We weren’t playing music or disturbing others. A staff member who introduced himself as “Ashley” and said he was the night manager approached with a very confrontational tone and immediately threatened to call the police if we did not move. The escalation felt unnecessary and disproportionate to the situation.

Overall: Core basics (front-desk staffing, cleanliness, professional communication) were not handled well. I would recommend management review staffing levels at peak times, address pool maintenance standards, and provide training on de-escalation and guest communication for night staff.

Turned up an hour early and was unable to check in. Was told to wait in the bar area and would be notified when my room became available. Staff didn’t bother and I went up 14:00 on the dot to check in. Then stuck me with the trainee. 3 customers after me checked in before me with the experienced staff member.

All internal phones were down during my staff meaning I couldn’t order room service. Had to call using mobile to reception and the re-routed to room service.

Hotel stay: One night

Went to visit daughter and stayed overnight at the Holiday Inn. Car parking was straight forward as was checking in. The room was comfortable and we had an early morning swim. Breakfast had a variety of options which suited us. The cooked breakfast was cold but wasn't hot. All staff around the hotel were very polite and helpful. Generally, pleasantly surprised that everything was as good as it could be. Would I stay there again: Yes.

Lovely experience, the staff were so kind and helpful...our family of four were staying with two of us visiting Harry Potter Studios that day so my husband and son were dropped early at the hotel two hours before check in. The reception staff were so helpful and let them book in early for a swim.
The restaurant had a separate gluten free marked up menu which had a varied choice of dishes so our coeliac son was pleased. The breakfast was also stocked with GF cornflakes so he really felt included which was a welcome change.
The pool itself was lovely although the changing rooms could do with a spruce up but overall everything was really a delight and we will definitely visit again. It's the perfect stopover if you're looking for a family friendly hotel close to HP Studios as the drive was 15mins.

I specifically booked this hotel for the pool, steam and sauna. The changing room was filthy and very run down. as was the pool and areas around it. It was all badly maintained and in need of a refit, I flagged this with the duty manager, who was excellent - apologising and explaining a refit was happening in future and had been signed off. Her customer service skills were excellent, as was Zoe on the leisure desk reception. I was offered dinner as compensation, which was very much appreciated. The room was fine and immaculately clean, although the pillows weren’t comfortable and the tea and coffee facilities were basic. Food was excellent in the restaurant and good service. There are very little amenities in walking distance, only an expensive garage with M&S concession next to the hotel. Parking is good - it’s an extra charge unless pre-booked.

Great stay. Enjoyed the daily breakfast there, comfortable bed, very nice lobby and bar. Lots of families staying there. I would have liked a refrigerator in the room tho. The hotel manager, Christian, went above and beyond giving us advice about driving the rental vehicle towards planning our trips. Harry Potter Warner Bros studio is about 35 minutes away. The Hemel-Hempstead train station is about 5 miles away. Recommend it and the Tube as transportation to/from London zone 1.

Pleasant experience, nice and clean room, delicious buffet breakfast, excellent and friendly staff. This hotel is in the suburbs but close enough to drive to Harry Potter. London zone 1 is quite far. The best way to get to London is via train and then the Tube.

On arrival at the hotel one of our rooms was not ready at 2pm but had a complementary drink because of it this is something that needs looking at. I do not normally fill these surveys in but I have to compliment this hotel for the friendly welcome by all areas of your team. Reception, bar, pool and restaurant for there smile’s helpful and having time to chat with the customers please keep it up.

Good stop off on way to Heathrow

Stayed for one night on way to Heathrow.
Parking was straightforward. I have a EV, there were 2 chargers available, BP Pulse. A bit tricky to use as the didn’t take contactless cards, but sorted on BP Website. Lots of other parking available. I think hotel charged £7 overnight for charging.
Checkin was fast and friendly.
Room was modern, clean and comfortable. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was clean and had nice toiletries.
Ate dinner in restaurant, went for noodles with prawns. Nice and tasty but a bit pricey.
Breakfast was ok. Cereal, fruit, cooked. Only complaint was not so good for vegetarians / vegans. Veggie sausages would have been good,
Checkout was fast and efficient.

Great dinner service.

Dinner and waitress were fab. The lovely lady who served us was so polite and attentive. The shower in our bedroom was old and broken. Had to stand almost on top of the taps to feel the dribble that came out. Also was lukewarm and couldn't turn up anymore. Room was cold and heating was slow, old and noisy. Our window wouldnt close properly so a constant draught and noise came in. Bed was comfy. Staff were friendly but rushed as so busy. Couldnt get a bowl for cereal at breakfast as had none clean and was told others in dishwasher.

We stayed here the night before a trip to the Harry Potter Tour as a family of 4.

We arrived quite late and therefore went straight to bed. Our room was on the ground floor near the end of the corridor (74). The room and bathroom were in good condition. There was quite a bit of external noise due to there being a ventilation system for the pool at window level about 10m from our window and the due to the window not being very soundproof. We were all so tired though this did not disturb us too much although this could be improved.

We went for breakfast around 8am and got seated with no wait. Myself and my 6 year old daughter are coeliac so we informed the waitress and she brought us a couple of allergy cards to write down what we wanted. She also showed me the allergy list for the breakfast which was clearly displayed on the wall near the hot buffet. The only item on the hot buffet that wasnt gluten free were the sausages, although gluten free sausage was available on request (as well as gluten free bread/toast) which was nice to see as it is not common to see GF sausages on a breakfast buffet. Jams/nutella/butter etc were all available in individual size pots which made us feel much more comfortable about any cross contamination risks. Schar gluten free cornflakes and muesli were also available.

We spent an hour in the pool. The changing rooms could do with a bit of a makeover. The ceiling tiles were damaged and facilities looked a bit tired and in need of a freshen up.

Swimming pool area extremely in need of a refurbishment. Pool water was cold.

Excellent hotel, we were pleasantly surprised by how lovely and relaxed this hotel was. Staff were super friendly and helpful. A big shout to the gym staff who were always super helpful and to the young man who cleared the breakfast tables with a smile and always willing to help. We were there for a harry potter weekend as was most families and it was a wonderful place to stay- great location and wonderful swimming pool and gymn to decompress after!

Harry Potter trip

This is our second stay at this hotel. Rooms, dining service bar etc all great. We stayed 6 years ago and used the pool/sauna/steam room facilities and it’s pretty clear there’s been little investment in this area. The entire gym/pool/leisure centre requires upgrade asap as it’s dated and appears dirty.
