I stayed here prior in April of last year and enjoyed a fantastic stay. This stay was quite different. I was given a room in the main building as opposed to the chalet I had last time. When booking in, I was told I had no breakfast included when I was sure I had booked it. The room was good but very hot. In attempting to turn the heating off, the radiator continued to pump out heat and turned the room into a sauna I had not asked for. I informed the front desk and they looked into it while I went for a walk. All attempts to rectify it were in vain so I was able to switch rooms to the same room on the floor above. I retrieved the email confirming I had breakfast included and she put this on their system. Breakfast was just as good as last time and parking was really good too. It was less of a positive experience as my first visit but I have to commend the lady who dealt with my situation as she was really helpful and went out of her way to sort everything out.

This hotel is very run down and dated. The carpets were old and dirty.In the room the lights were either on or off, not possible to have the lamps on by themselves. The shower was a mere trickle.The breakfast was appalling, inedible and cold. A conference type flask was on offer for tea which was stewed and cold as was the flask made available for hot water. Would not recommend staying here. The one positive was Ali, a staff member who was exceptional. He really went out of his way to be helpful.

This hotel’s decor is badly outdated, but the facilities are fine. A comfortable bed in a warm room on a very cold night, clean bathroom with toiletries, and tea / coffee / water provided. Staff were first class & breakfast was superb. Best Western need to invest in this place

We were greeted with a very warm welcome to the hotel. Check in took a matter of minutesm we were then shown to our room. Which was very spacious with a large bathroom.it may have been a little dated, but it added to uts charm we also had the watermill directly outside our room...
Breakfast was included and made to order and they also catered for our dietary requirements.

Arrived late in the evening and found there still to be parking available - and the parking area felt very safe. Once checked in the hotel staff showed us to our room and explained where everything was in the room and where and when breakfast was served. The room was slightly dated but clean and there was tea/coffee and biscuits in the room. Staff were all lovely and we enjoyed our stay.

A few niggles getting into my room but this was quickly rectified. Service was great. Alisha looked after me on arrival, and was very helpful. The lock on the door was faulty so she ensured this was sorted out as I needed to pop out. True to her word was resolved on return. Very friendly and polite, nothing was too much trouble. Room was nice and clean. Nice view of the brook from the window. No evening meals at the moment, but there are two pubs across the road, one of them offers a 10% discount for hotel guests. Will stay again.

We were having a great time until I felt a sharpe pain in the bed and when we investigated it we found a “needle” in the bedding which looked like a drug users needle so all in all we left in the middle of the night and have now had to have tests and wait for any results incase the needle was infected

My stay at the Wateemill was very pleasant and my room (I booked superior) was really lovely, comfortable and very quiet. Unfortunately, the outside of the building lets it down and my initial thought on arrival was that I’d made a bad mistake however it’s a great place to stay, and felt very safe.
The pub over the road (The White Horse) offers a fab menu choice and has a great atmosphere. Plus guests from Watermill get 10% off!
Alesha who was on reception was absolutely amazing and so very helpful, she really made every guest feel welcome.
My only main complaint would be the pressure of the water in the shower…
Would I stay again?? yes definitely.

Not really worth the price paid.

The whole motel had a very damp musty smell about it probably due to the fact it was built over a river. The shower head was loose and dropped and we had to jury rig a method to keep it up whilst showering. Many of the power outlets didn't work.

Nice stay but shower was lacking.

Whilst the room showed signs that it had recently refurbished, the bed was comfortable, room was a nice size. The water pressure for the shower was lacking, the rain shower was more like drizzle. Overall an enjoyable stay, staff were friendly and accommodating, the setting was lovely and breakfast was plentiful.

The rooms were very dated, carpets dirty, bathrooms dated and not cleaned properly, one of the rooms shower curtain had a big hole in it and the other room shower curtain was dirty, the mattresse were very worn and soft. Tv had the most basic channels avaiable again just basic. Resturant closed for evening meals. Broadband was poor. We wont be returning to this hotel again.

The staff were very attentive and helpful so full marks to the staff.

The room was clean and very quiet. The air conditioning didnt stay on, and kept flashing green in the night which meant we had to keep waking up to reset it.

The property and furnishings were a little tired.

The cooked breakfast was ok, but not hot enough which was made worse by being served on cold plates.

The staff were definitely the best aspect of the hotel.

Property was a little dated and could do with a make over breakfast was included but we missed 1st days as didnt open till 8am and we had to leave by 7.30am to get to where we where going they did say they would arrange for us to have some croissants but nobody was around!!! Water needed to be hotter in bath room was impossible to fill bath as water not hot enough and would have taken hours to fill then be cold. Bar and restaurant where not open. Breakfast on 2nd day available had to wait to be refilled and could have done with being warmer.

I love how peaceful it is here, there are 3 lovely pubs, all different in menus and atmosphere, and its only a half hour walk to drift limits london motor circuit or another lovely eatery, the fishery inn. The accommodation has free widi, spacious parking, a decking area with a lovely view of the river and the staff are very helpful and polite. Ill definitely bbe back again and again

Part of the Sure Collection of Best Western. Really nice setting with 2 pubs directly across the road for dining options. My room was on the ground level and looked directly on to the car park so the car was only a few feet from the door which was really convenient. Really nice and friendly staff and very helpful. The room was really well decorated, up to date and clean. A nice big, comfy bed and double headed shower. There was a lovely view of the river which ran outside of the hotel. Breakfast was really well cooked and got the day off to the best start. Great value for money stay with only a couple of minor things stopping a 5 out of 5 review but would definitely look to stay here again.

When I first went in, I found my twin room smelled very strongly, the air conditioning/ heating was really high and had unpleasant hot air that was also coming out of a crack in the wall. The bathroom was new and clean and of a good standard, and the room was better once the window could be opened and the hot air conditioning turned off.
The single beds in the twin room were quite basic and hard (probably ok for back sleepers).

Overall it was a satisfactory overnight stay and conveniently near the motorway.

What a shame, the new rooms are lovely but...

On arrival, there were no staff anywhere, one customer in the deserted bar, an empty dining room, no one. Eventually a member of staff appeared, with no apology. The room was tired but OK, however in the morning none of the lights int he room, including the bathroom worked, meaning a shave by the torch on my phone. Unlikely I will return.

Nice clean hotel. However there seemed to be a bit of a mix up with the booking at check-in. Probably due to the fact I had to amend the booking. There also seemed to be an over charge from the original booking. I had been charged for superior rooms after I amenended. We were given standard rooms, I think there seems to be a lack of communication between the hotel and hotels.com!

This hotel was soulless no atmosphere ,the room were tired bits hanging off hear and there, service was poor we arrived back at the hotel @10.30 pm had drink beer was awful (gassy too much head) and was not able to order any food not even a bag of crisps. we asked for some biscuits to take to the room ans were offered 3 biscotti, Not a good experience

The lovely thing about this hotel is the location, with the river running under the main hotel and the watermill itself.
Unfortunately the whole place is very tired and needs a complete refurb.
We couldn't use the shower as the head was completely filthy. The evening dinner was okay, but the full English breakfast was pretty cold!

May I suggest that you sign up to Defense Discount Card scheme and also, Blue Light Card scheme. These are the official government endorsed discount schemes for armed services and emergency service worker. Paramedics and soldiers like me, who work for the NHS, don’t earn a huge sum so the comfort of nice hotels like yours is often denied us due to cost.
Thank you for a very pleasant 2 nights during my somewhat unpleasant 3 NHS shifts.
