As it was the hottest day tommorow I was abit let down that there was only one tiny fan In a king size room which I upgraded to thinking the ac will work I paid extra for my stay but the ac was not even working was hard to sleep and didnt really enjoy my stay as the heat was to much and the fan was giving out hot hair

My stay at Thistle was quite brief as I arrived late in the evening and went to the airport quite early in the morning. The hotel staff were absolutely brilliant, they were friendly and efficient. The room was ok, clean and fine for one night. The one thing I did not like much was the noise you can hear from the street.

Avoid at all costs.

The hotel had overbooked the rooms, so we didn’t get the rooms we booked.

It took 45 minutes to check in, not because there was a queue, that’s literally how long the manager took to check us in.

There were no curtains in my room, it was literally a bare window.

Breakfast was late (ok when it came out though).

The noise through the night was relentless, with performance cars driving past constantly which woke me up every 10 minutes (everybody was complaining to each other the following morning so it wasn’t just my room); there was also a large party going on outside with loud music. The noise isn’t the hotels fault, but is pertinent to whether it’s a hotel you should choose to sleep in.

I’m a regular but this time I experienced something somewhat discomforting - the radiator was making a lot of noise on and off (despite the fact that it wasn’t turned on). Maintenance appeared to have tried to rectify the problem. But on my second night, the radiator suddenly became very noisy again. It was quite late already and I didn’t want to switch room. Luckily, the noise level reduced about the time I went to bed

Due to the heatwave the corridors & rooms were like ovens. At least we had one little desk fan & they kindly gave us a 2nd one from the back office.

Great stay and good value for money excellent get free hot drinks all day. Breakfast was ok could have bit better quality eggs and bacon and mushrooms but over all satisfactory. Maybe cooler rooms as was bit hot fan was in room to help might be asking to much but aircon would have been great. Again great place for value and location outside central London. Would stay again thanks 👍

Nice staff but this hotel has security guards in the lobby. This is a tough part of town.
Property is dated and on top of a car park so noisy noisy until very late in the evening .
I was on th 9th floor with window stuck open and central heating jammed on .

Its cheap , room are clean but its rough.

An ideal overnight stopover for access to the airport at a competitive price. The room was adeqyfor my purpose. Clean and comfortable. There was a bath with an overhead shower. The room has basic facilities but effectively this was just somewhere to get my head down for a few hours before my flight. I parked in Library Road car park which was supposed to be pay on exit. However the barriers didn't seem to be working and I was charged just £2. The hotel car park is £15 per night apparently. Tea and coffee are free in the reception so I grabbed one to go.

Been to a few hotels in the area and I can't lie this was by far the best. Located right next to the mall so everything I needed was a walk away, the ambience was simply amazing. And the staff were amazing seriously, these guys give above and beyond a new meaning. Paticularly, a receptionist named Sab or Sabia (sorry I'm not good with names) but she was warm, polite and incredibly helpful to us throughout our stay. If I should ever visit luton again, I'll definitely be seeking their facility.

She may not read this but it needs to be said, thanks for all your help Sabia.🙏

Although the hotel is extremely close to the railway station, it’s in an odd area of the centre of town where you have to walk up to it via a car park ramp. There is an access staircase from the other side in town, right next to an door of the Arndale Shopping Centre, but this was a hang out area for lots of young men, playing loud music into the early hours of the morning, and did not feel a safe place to walk through. Once inside, the hotel staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and the hotel itself was kept extremely clean. Breakfast was OK but the cooked items were standard items and although I didn’t eat late on the first morning, did seem like they’d been there for quite a while. I don’t think the mushrooms, very pale in colour, had seen a frying pan. The Greek yogurt, frozen berries, honey and pancakes were a much better option on day 2. I had a single room, which was well proportioned and had all I needed. The problem was that, due to the noise coming from below outside, I had to have the window closed and the room was then too hot. Due to the noisy, unsafe feeling, location of the hotel, and resulting problems associated with this, I’d have to think carefully before starting here again. 10/10 for staff friendliness and helpfulness though throughout my stay.

My room was clean and comfortable. Air con not working which shouldnt be an issue this time of year as having an open window would be fine. However, this is an issue due to the 10000 decibel music with a baseline that goes through you - from outside - for hours. Usually id be a \"cant beat em, join them\" type but i was a lone female who found the groups of young men congregating and smoking, intimidating.
Fellow guests were also inconsiderate - constant door banging.
Thankfully i was only here for a (very looong sleepless) night to catch an early flight.
Security and reception both very friendly and helpful.
Never again - hotel is ok, area - not so much.

Hotel is in an upper level depending upon the street, it took me a little while find the main entrance using my GPS as it took me at the lower level where a public parking lot. Parking is not included but have a fair price. Check area if you arrive late night as it is a bit rough around. Beyond that the quality of hotel is great.

Stayed in a twin room with my daughter for one night, before flying from London Luton. The room was basic, but fine - pretty much as you would expect. Location was fine for the airport - a quick and easy drive out there for an early flight. Main issue is that Luton town centre, where the hotel is located, feels very hostile and unsafe at night. Groups of youths hanging around, shadowy figures lurking in doorways. All pretty unpleasant

A relatively pleasant stay. Comfy bed and workable television. The reason for the stars given was that the bathroom door was broken, didn’t close let alone lock. So privacy was non existent when a visit to the bathroom was required. But apart from that, we enjoyed our stay. Not sure if it’s a property I would revisit though.

This place was absolutely disgusting. From the moment we arrived we contemplated returning back to the airport. Never felt so uncomfortable at a hotel, slept fully clothed, sheets yellow stained, carpet looked like it had blood stains on it, even moved the desk in-front of door because we felt so uncomfortable. Gives I’m going to get trafficked vibes. Pictures uploaded on hotels.com are completely altered from the current condition. This place isn’t even worth $50 a night and we paid almost triple. Stay far away.

4.30 am for Saturday and Sunday morning staff or workers were sorting bedding and the like, crashing banging of metal for at least an hour, early sat morning a gang decided to stab a 16 yr old boy so police and sirens shouting up until the bedding vans arrived, found the staff to be rude NO thank you or how can we help , room worn everywhere and needed updating … hot water didn’t reach the 5 floor told staff and said just let in run it will get hot !! It didn’t !! Toilet wouldn’t flush and bath filled up when having a shower ! Oh and the youngsters of Luton all need a form right hand and to pull there bottoms up and take those hoods down !! Apart from that it was lovely 😂

It was very very loud in the room. I managed to close a window but I was expecting slightly more from it. Walking from train station it had a difficult access through the parking lot which dragging a suitcase was difficult. The actual room was ok - but it was a very uncomfortable sleep. Otherwise it is close to the train station which was an excellent location. Staff were nice.

The room booked was terrible and barely organised. The reception attitude was cold and neglecting and there was only 1 toilet rol. No kettle, no mugs for teas and coffee and no iron or any ironing board. The windows were locked halfway and the heating was significantly hit all night with no way to turn.it off.
I had to change the toom at spme point and disappointingly, I was charged extra 14 pounds on to.of sn already disappointing stay. I wnever recommend this hotel. Honesty, its not worth the money paid and a full refund is appropriate

I cannot believe how horrendous my experience was given the huge number of positive reviews on this hotel.

Travelling as a lone female so had a single room. First room had no hot water and no working phone to report this (only identified when I was already in the cold shower).

Moved to another room, advised because of the heating system the hot water tap and shower needs to be run for 25 mins to get hot water ! Clearly this is a known issue for the hotel and not a one off !

The general state of repair of the room was APPALLING. The walls were peeling in multiple places. If I’m able to attach photos I will.

If it had been earlier in the day I would have moved hotels but I didn’t feel safe going back outside hotel hunting at 7PM.

I’m all for budget and basic but honestly this hotel needs to be condemned.

Exactly that's what happened.First thing after opening the room door I went to wash my hands in the bathroom sink the water wouldn't drain reported nothing happened then second nigtmare at midnight the toilet was clogged reported. Stay was stressful and was very disappointing. O hope they won't give the room to someone else after we checked out before sorting it out I reminded before I clocked out.

No idea it was only accessible from INSIDE a shopping centre - unless you walked up the vehicle ramp - with literally zero signage to assist the layman traveller. Dodgy area with loads of druggies and homeless around, very unsafe

1 Room was in decent condition, however waste basket in the room was not emptied daily. It was emptied on the last day of my stay, and by then I had more waste than can be fit in one small waste basket.

2 Toilet paper was also provided on the 1st day of my stay - 2 rolls. There was toilet paper given on any other day. In my opinion this is unsatisfactory. My stay was for 3 nights and I had to buy more toilet paper out of my pocket. There should be 1-2 rolls/day. Very frustrating and disappointing.

The room was fine. You get what you pay for. But be prepared if you are staying here the people on reception will recommend you to park in the public car park just below the hotel as it is half the price. When I left to go to the airport at 4 o’clock in the morning, I was harassed on two separate occasions by men. At that time being a woman alone obviously you feel very unsafe. This isn’t the fault of the hotel, but something to be aware of if you’re parking in the public car park, which is a three minute walk from the hotel.
