This hotel is situated close to the centre of Darmstadt (around 1 km away) and the historic Mathildenhöhe are only a few minutes drive away whilst guests may reach the main train station on foot (around 150 m away). Further links to the public transport network are also in the vicinity (roughly 100 m away).

The hotel was great and perfect location for an overnight stay in Route to Italy. They provided us with a crib for our baby and the room was super clean and had everything we need. The hotel breakfast was also great so definitely recommend adding that!

This is a nice hotel, well located in a part of town that is convenient for both transportation and shopping. There is a movie theater across the street, which I appreciated. My room was nice and clean, the bed was comfortable and I appreciated the selection of pillows. They gave away miniature tic tac mints and packages of gummy bears, which I really enjoyed. I like this hotel and I recommend it to others.

Good location, good price, rooms with windows that open, views of all the area from the room. Great breakfast. Although not to close to the center of town, it is right next to the Hauotbahnhof, which is not a bad area (unlike, say, Frankfurt, where the Hbf is a crummy area). And there is a direct bus to Frankfurt airport, 30 mins. or so. Unfortunately they only take credit cards on the bus.

The Maritim is a very nice hotel that is well located in Darmstadt. Transportation is easy to and from it because it's near the main train station and a substantial taxi stand. The workers at the hotel have always been kind and helpful to me and I've appreciated them many times. The rooms are beautiful, the beds are comfortable and the selection of pillows is ample. There is a beautiful swimming pool in the basement that is fun to use. Breakfast is delicious. I enjoy this hotel and I recommend it to others.

The shower was a mess; couldn’t keep water in the shower stall no matter what we tried so ended up using lots of towels to mop it up.
Listed as having “laundry facilities “, but offers only laundry services for a charge. No laundry area where we could do our own laundry. Very very expensive for us. This was one of the deciding factors to book at the Maritime.

Hotel is really well placed next to the train station and the bus stop for the airport. The swimming pool was cool but really nice. Rooms were big, beds comfortable. Could have done with some coffee making stuff and a chair for the balcony. Staff were good as was the breakfast. Would stay there again.

The property is nice and clean. The staffs are bit unaccommodating. They are not really there for service. The entrance is hard to find and have. This might be due to construction work but nonetheless it seems very hard to go to front of the hotel. The rooms are clean and tidy.

We loved our very comfortable, spacious, well-appointed room with carpet, storage, proper coat hangers, door onto balcony and the green option to opt out of room service. Breakfast selection was excellent but bacon, nuts and multivitamin juice were missing.
We were disappointed that the room in a hotel of this standard did not have a kettle and courtesy tray, although a kettle was provided on request.

Great hotel

Really great hotel. From the outside, it does not look that exciting but looks are deceptive! This is a nice hotel inside. The rooms are spacious and clean.

great hotel but geting a bit old

we had a good week in general, great food, wery frendly staff, clean place, food ok. A few things could have been better regarding the rooms as in the ventilation in the bathroom that did not work, old and used furniture, cipped finishes on doors, used carpet an to few power outlets in the room. The food from the restaurant was ok, last time was better and they had a excelent goos that wasn't in the menu this time.

Excellent breakfast but cleaning not perfect.

Excellent breakfast. Room cleanliness could be better; hairs on bed by pillow. Hair band on floor. Pieces of tissue on floor. Room cleaning was done before we checked out so would need to be repeated. Cleaners didn’t appear to speak German or English so difficult to communicate with them! Better management of cleaning required!

The hotel was excellent. Very good breakfast, clean and great staff. We chose it because it had a swimming pool. Disappointing as the pool was shut until the end of September. They did not give a reason.

Maritim time..

WiFi was good in the lobby but 4th floor was almost non existent on a hotel serves business client mostly. You have to pay for coffee for the coffee machine in the lobby . Room fridge was empty. Had one bottle water in room and if you don't ask they don't give you one each days of stay. No coffee machine/ or kettle in the room.

Room wasn't that big to begin with. No kettle, coffee or tea available in the room. They don't top up water bottles in the room for those who stay more than a night.It's a 5min walk to the main central train station.The bathroom was very nice though. Swimming pool water was quite cold for summer. €5 to use the sauna for 20min even for those staying at the hotel. I believe you can find a better hotel at the rate they are charging.One of the staff at reception was a bit stuck up.

Nice, but with some “black spots”

A quite clean hotel (checked with forensic UV lights😁), with 2 possible issues…
1st…forget to leave open a window to get some fresh air, as the traffic noise outside is awful, and time to time ambulances sirens are “keeping alive”the noisy background (and damn, at 4Am too!),
and 2nd…parking…
If you have a car, forget to use hotel’s garage, until your prepared to pay 18eur a day (only for the parking spot!… lol, no valet services included with).
The annoying thing is there’s no alternative solutions offered by the hotel, no deal or convention with the parking close by, managed by another company.(and they accept only coins…)
What a shame for a prestigious structure like this place.

So make your decision wisely…

This is a high quality hotel built some years ago. Due to low business travel, the restaurant was closed, but small dinner menu was served in the bar. The rate we paid was a bargain for this facility.

The \"air conditioner\" couldnt get the room cooler than 25 degrees (75 F). Also, the TV didnt work and the shower, which was some sort of computerized hi tech set up had only luke warm water. Wifi did work however, staff were nice, and the hotel is close to the train station. Didnt bother eating the 14 euro breakfast, since the train station served me well for 5 euros.

It’s difficult to judge service as we had very limited contact with anyone there.....only reception. The room was nice , but the balcony was dirty with bird excrement on it. It was disappointing that the hotel had no tea/coffee making facilities in the room.

There was no in room coffee service.
There were no exercise facilities on site, other than the pool (which was very nice).
Room ventilation was limited to opening the patio door; guests cannot control the air temperature or circulation.
The room was very quiet.
The shower in the room was excellent.
There were good restaurant options within easy walking distance.
Breakfast was expensive (20 EUR); we found that there was a less expensive continental option for 10 EUR but only after asking the staff.

Great hotel next to Darmstadt Hbf.

Short walking distance to Darmstadt central station, nice clean room, and responsive service. Check-in and check-out was efficient. My only suggested improvement is for iron to be available in-room (only 1 iron was available in a small ironing room). The stay will also be even more comfortable if we can adjust the air-conditioning temperature, rather than it being controlled centrally. Other than that, we are pleased with our stay.
