Wonderful stay! Friendly and helpful staff, excellent dinner and bar, clean room. What I loved the most about this place is that the room had a ceiling fan, coffee maker, and fridge! The only thing missing is a microwave, but I'm not complaining. These other amenities alone would convince me to choose Mercure over anyone else!

We liked the free shuttle to and from the Frankfurt airport. Once we arrived, the place and staff were very welcoming. The bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds we ever slept in. We would definitely stay here again the next time we need a hotel in the area.

We were pleasantly surprised by the condition and quality of the hotel. The interior is nicely furnished and well maintained. Good hotel but far from airport and city. Ok for winter stay as it is only equipped with heating
For summer it is terrible even if you keep window open.
I could not sleep whole night. Quickly changed my hotel. Environment is good service excellent.

Nice hotel - but a little hot.

Hotel was nicely appointed. However, the lack of air conditioning was a big negative. It was an unusually hot day (about 35 degrees C) when we were there, so this would not be an issue most of the time.
It would have been handy to have electrical outlets near the bed.
The hotel restaurant is the only food option within walking distance. Restaurant hours are limited. Menu is a little limited and a little on the high-price side.
Overall a good hotel. I would consider staying there again.

Hotel advertises free shuttle to/from airport. It requires 48 hrs reservation for a small 7 seater shuttle but does not confirm (more than a week before). Randomly assigned to a later one (than requested) which was also cancelled and had to wait more than 2 hrs before pick up. Shuttle for drop off at airport was reserved (as requested more than a week before) and was assigned 1hr earlier which meant more than 3 hrs wait at airport. Hotel is old and average. Half an hour drive from airport in the middle of nowhere. Long wait at the restaurant. Would not recommend.

Pleasant hotel, good connections, nice rooms

This hotel was a pleasant surprise. First of all it's close to the tram station which takes you to the city centre in about 30mins. We were in Frankfurt for a fair and all hotel in the centre were booked but it was relatively easy to get to this hotel. We didn't realise that there was a restaurant at the hotel as we would have eaten here. Area is very quiet. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped with pretty decor. Will definitely be back

Old style but pretty clean. Shuttle bus to pickup from the airport need to book 48 hrs in advance, impossible! Too hot room even switched off all the heaters, could not sleep well. Very friendly and helpful reception and the manager. Dinner served very well.

Considering this is an airport hotel, reception staff was totally unsympathetic to our needs and we felt completely let down. Getting a taxi was complicated and the reception showed zero understanding toward our concerns of getting to our flight on time. Taxi was late and on arrival at the airport tried to charge us more than the tariff given by reception, refused to take card payment, and was unbelievably rude. Worse taxi to airport experience I've ever had.

Free shuttle and excellent breakfast buffet are important to me and well woth the price. We had a great dinner at a reasonable price.
My grandson left his blankie in the room. Lets see if they will go the extra mile to return it or at least hold it for our return trip. Hope so! The staff was great.

It wasn't how i imagined from the photo and description as a little hotel a little older and further away from the airport than i thought, it says air conditioned so i assumed the rooms and not just the foyer the free shuttle does exist but be sure to book in advance within the operation times. Elegimos la propiedad por el Shuttle al aeropuerto, a pesar de haber escrito 2 dias antes como lo pidieron, no se ofrecio el transporte al aeropuerto en ninguno de los dos sentidos, ademas el personal es muy odioso y poco resolutivo. El hotel queda lejos y los taxis son costosos.
No lo recomiendo de ninguna manera.

We liked to offer of complementary Shuttle service from and to Frankfurt Airport. Important to note that this needs to be scheduled with the hotel 2 days in advance.

However, in our case the return shuttle was not there on time. We got a little stressed for fear of missing our flight. The hotel staff were very helpful and solved the problem, but it was still stressful.

We paid Expedia the price to allow us to obtain a refund if we cancelled our reservation within the specified period. However, the hotel refused to reimburse us unless Expedia confirmed I paid the amount allowing me to cancel the reservation. The hotel contacted Expedia, but Expedia refused to cooperate and we lost all the money we paid. So, this is the last reservation we will make with Mercure and, in the future, we now know better than to book anything via Expedia.

Room extremely warm & stifeling with only a ceiling fan with 1 setting. Air-con I'd expect as being a standard for this hotel chain!

Also Website's unclear representation for a standard twin room showing coffee/tea making facilities with a red dot under mini bar only signifiying payment required. On enquiry from Reception was advised Coffee/tea making facilities required an upgrade to a Classic room & extra €20 - really!

Hotel quite remote from shops with no map of area held by reception for guests.

For the little extra saved for the one night stay I'd have preferred to have stayed at an Airport hotel.

Check in was good. Upon arriving at our room though, we found entry door broken; then a wasp nest in our 4th floor room...after some back and forth, we were given a better room on 2nd floor.
PLEASE NOTE hotel rooms are not always air-conditioned; a fact I was not aware of. Breakfast included and was okay. Onsite restaurant food for dinner was very good.

Beware of the infrequent shuttle schedule

The hotel itself was fine, with reasonably friendly staff and a fabulous breakfast buffet, but the shuttle from the airport (which was the primary reason I booked this hotel) only runs once an hour during the day. I couldn't find that information anywhere, so after waiting 45 minutes, I took a $40 taxi from the airport. Once I got there I had a comfortable room and was able to get the shuttle back to the airport the next day, after a little negotiating with the front desk.

This hotel has an older fashioned comfortable ambience. Room fittings furniture and build generally seems to have been done by craftsmen with a pleasing lack of plastic and other modern material. The hotel has a comfortable and homely feel to it. Service was friendly and efficient.

The shuttle from the airport is unexpected, long and is terminated at 10 pm - not 1030pm as claimed by the hotel. Taxi from airport to hotel is more expensive than to the city!.
This is an old hotel with new owners, not a new hotel. Terrible cigarettes odor near the elevator.
Breakfast is just great. Staff is helpful.

Bad experience in every way possible

Came here during a very busy time in Frankfurt. They had only a smoking room or one with a broken lock. After inspecting the room, I found it to be in a terrible state (smell and condition). I asked to cancel the booking completely so I would find lodging elsewhere.

This was done and yet I was still charged despite them not having proper accommodations for me. I left to the Mercure in Frankfurt, which is a brilliant hotel.

Last points would be the location is not very good, very old rooms, and parking is not easy. Would not recommend.

The hotel could use a little update but it was in good condition and fairly comfortable. I was a little hot at night and was able to turn up the fan or open a window for ventilation. I really appreciated their efforts to reduce plastic waste, and noticed they had refillable bottles for shampoo and hand soap affixed to the walls. The bed was comfortable and the wi-fi was good. The free shuttle to and from the airport was great - very pleasant drivers.

Future changes for this hotel.

It’s flagging, it is soon to change ownership as the Steinberger group have sold it, therefore the staff seem to have lost interest. I believe the new owners will be slowly but surely updating the hotel. It is in a quiet area, and easy to get the train Into central Frankfurt. Will give the new hotel a try when the renovations are complete next year.

Most rooms facing car park & smoking area & you can hear cars coming & going & people talking all through the night. Rooms were extremely hot (we had 2) although it max temperature was about 25C that day.
Reception was very short-staffed - one person working on a busy Fri evening. I queued for 20 mins & gave up.

We just stayed for one night. We got in late from the airport by cab since the shiitake service ended by that time. Took shuttle to the airport in the morning to get a car. It was clean and cozy. The air conditioner was not very cold.

No air condition in the room and the weather was super hot, what makes a no confortable stay at your room, the rest of the room very nice. Because is far from everywhere, you need to eat at the hotel, the prices are expensive, so a dinner one basic plate with a beer around 30 euros.

This hotel is around 15 mins drive from Frankfurt Airport and 40 mins from downtown Frankfurt. Overall the hotel is nice, breakfast is 13 EUR if you book it at check in (recommended), if you decide later is 17 EUR.
I would recommend this hotel if your only waiting for a flight overnight, not much to do close to the hotel.

Orbitz and the Hotel are in some kind of nexus of looting people. I was made to understand that the Hotel is in the vicinity of Frankfurt Airport. Where as the Hotel is in an altogether different city 50-60 Km or even more away from the Frankfurt airport. After travelling from Oslo to Frankfurt we could not locate the hotel even after spending 5 hours and finally had to look up in a new hotel near the airport as we had an early morning flight to catch to India.

We learned that Standard rooms are not air conditioned. We were fortunate to be able to upgrade but with an additional cost and only the bedroom had an air conditioning unit. There is a different culture in Europe than in the states. Staff were very friendly.
