Don’t come here if you are a solo traveler looking for a place that has social amenities. Gym wasn’t open and “full service spa” just means a sauna. Restaurants were also not too good and staff was a little passive when I wanted to dine alone. My room was not too clean and they do charge for shuttle service. I really tried to like this hotel but the pictures make it seem nicer than it actually is.

My stay at IntercityHotel Frankfurt Airport was overall very positive and comfortable, especially for an airport hotel.

The staff were truly outstanding — welcoming, efficient, and genuinely kind. Check-in and check-out were smooth, questions were handled with patience, and there was a real sense of professionalism paired with warmth. After a long journey, that kind of human factor matters a lot, and they absolutely delivered.

The room itself was well equipped and thoughtfully arranged. I especially appreciated having tea and coffee in the room, which is always a small but important comfort, particularly when arriving late or leaving early. Everything was clean, functional, and well maintained, exactly what you want near an airport.

The only downside was that the room felt noticeably cold during my stay in January. While everything else worked perfectly, the temperature made it slightly less comfortable than expected.

That said, aside from the winter temperature issue, everything else was excellent — service, amenities, cleanliness, and overall efficiency. IntercityHotel Frankfurt Airport is a very solid choice, and with warmer room temperature control, it would easily be a five-star airport stay.

Room was freezing cold. Heating panel was on 5, which is max and did not make any difference. Even two blankets did not help, had to steep in my clothes. Hallways are smell really bad. Possibly old carpet. You can’t step out if shower on the bathroom floor it’s so cold. I had to threw all towels on the floor.

Staff was friendly. Room was nice but shampoo was empty and water in sink did not flow away as it should have. Worst thing is that they do not have free parking for hotel guests, that's a shame. The pay parking close by is very expensive and you have no alternative! The shuttle bus to airport also costs extra, not good service. Restaurant and breakfast were great and good price. Bed was good, night was quiet, slept well.

This was the only hotel I stayed at in Germany that had an adjustable in-room AC unit, and I absolutely loved that! Hotel was very easy to reach by bus and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The dinner buffet was okay; some of the food was a bit cold but otherwise it was tasty. The breakfast buffet was top-notch, I'd eat there again in a heartbeat!

The only thing the hotel didn't have (at least in my room) were charging outlets next to the bed. I had to use an outlet on the other side of the room to charge my phone, whereas most hotels have one next to the nightstand. I obviously was able to charge my phone, but that was a little annoying. Otherwise it was a great stay and I would probably stay here again if I find myself flying via Frankfurt Airport!

Stayed here for its proximity to the airport. We had to stay overnight in Frankfort to catch our connecting flight next day. We checked in at 11 pm and checked out the following morning at 7 am. The hotel was very clean and quiet and a reasonable price. The staff were also friendly and helpful-except the night clerk told us the airport shuttle was 10 euros per person, but the morning clerk cited 15 euros per person. The only issue we encountered was the cost of transportation to and from terminal 1. Our party of two persons paid 20 euros to get to the hotel and another 24 euros to get back to the airport. We took taxis, but the shuttle is about the same price for two people. This is the only issue cost-conscious travelers should be weary off-otherwise the hotel itself is great for the value.

Staff was not as accommodating as one would hope. Wifi password had to be asked for.
Sign said make reservations for shuttle, but staff says not necessary.
Hard to get to from the train as there was construction on the bus route. We took an Uber from the train station. Which just so happened to be cheaper than the shuttle from the hotel the next morning.
Fifteen per person vs.10 for the Uber. Breakfast was 20 p/p but there was coffee in the room.
Would recommend staying at the Intercity in town rather than this remote hotel.

Pity about the WW2 bomb!

This review is based on the first night of a two night stay. Because of the discovery of a WW2 bomb in the vicinity, the hotel was shut late afternoon and with a sick wife, all we were offered was a coach ride to a sister hotel and await developments.
Not surprisingly, I cancelled the second night and booked a second hotel close by. Unfortunately, I had paid for the second night at the InterCity and they were not able to refund it. The Hotels.com website doesn’t appear to have a direct email and such cancellations by a hotel are not on their “help” list.

Airport shuttle

When booking, the hotel showed “airport shuttle included,” but upon arrival they charged €15 for the shuttle, which was disappointing and misleading. Their check-in screen also indicated that business travelers do not need to pay city tax, yet I was still asked to pay €2 without a clear explanation.

If shuttle charges are extra, it would be better to clearly mention this during booking instead of advertising it as included.

That said, the hotel itself is nice, clean, and conveniently located near the airport.

I stay at this hotel several times a year, when I fly back to US. It is not a great hotel but it is ok, has sauna and friendly staff. However the last time, sauna was not working although reception said it was, hairdryer was not working and WiFi was so weak, I used roaming data from mobile to work on the laptop. Maybe I was unlucky this time but I will go somewhere else next time.

We were very pleased to stay at this hotel. It is very modern, close to the airport I(with shuttle available), has a lovely bar to relax in and a great restaurant. We had dinner which was delicious and an included breakfast, again very tasty. The room was spacious, clean, nice bathroom and comfy bed. Would definitely stay again if we were in Frankfurt

Easy location for staying close to the airport for our early morning international flight. Room was tiny, bath was tiny..but all was clean. Not many dining options and the staff was just ok. It served its purpose vs staying at the airport Sheraton which was way overpriced.
