This is a Basic hotel, but exceeded that classification. Staff were helpful, air conditioning, breakfast exceed expectation. the breakfast looked over a large park and green area. After breakfast a nice walk in the park. Parking was OK once you found the location. Small bar on main floor. Basically offer everything that they said and often better.

Expected a better experience for the price

My stay was fair. Location was great. Breakfast was only average and poor for the price. There was only one small bottle of drinking water provided for my entire 3 night stay. The cost of drinking water from reception was excessive.I stay in Darmstadt frequently for business and have had better experiences nearby.

It used to be our favorite hotel. This year it wasn’t all that great. They don’t have A/C just a ‘chiller’. The technician was super nice and explained this very well, which made it clear why the room stayed kinda sticky. The personnel is awesome and always helpful. We’re probably coming back as long as it’s not during the hot summer momths

Walk in the park

Very ideal location to explore Darmstadt with a lovely park right out the back door. My room was a \"view\" room which overlooked the park but, unfortunately, this was also where truck deliveries were made and so enjoying the natural air through an open window also meant early morning noise. Despite this, I would chose this hotel again for my stay. Excellent! The airliner bus also stops right across the street for very easy transport from Frankfurt airport.

The room was comfortable, but also very noisy when people walking and talking on the floor. During our stay it seemed like some noisy hotel repair took place on saturday morning.
Room cleaning need definitely improvement.
There was, for a 3 night stay, only 1 small free of charge bottle of water in the room and no minibar.

A real value. Hotel was clean, reasonably comfortable and convenient to everything you might want to do in Darmstadt (e.g., Wedding Tower and Mathildenhöhe; Makt Place, etc). Transportation is easily accessed. Staff can be a bit amateurish but they do not appear to have a large international clientele. All staff do speak English fluently. Room was good sized but curiously, with king size bed they provided 2 single size duvets.

Stayed for conference and few days holiday. Very convenient location for my work trip and was pleasantly surprised to find great park and gardens at back of hotel and fabulous museum 2 minutes walk. Town for shopping was also just a few minutes away. Hotel was clean and comfortable with very helpful staff. I would love to stay again and would highly recommend it.

Advertised as having Sauna as their facility. Turns out they charge for guests to use it.
Rooms are too small and duvet cover is tiny and room was too cold and would not warm up.
Hardly any space in the wardrobe and no draws anywhere.
WC was getting hit each time you went in.
No soap and instead you use Body Shampoo

We stayed here because of it's convenient location to our conference.

However, we were delighted by the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms. Food served at breakfast, lunch and dinner was delicious with lots of variety.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. We had been travelling through the night and had requested an earlier check in, the staff were very helpful.

Once we were checked in we were issued a little card to claim a welcome drink during our stay.

Don't waste your money!

We checked in last week, air conditioning don't work worth a hoot, it was better to use the window, at least you can get a cooler breeze. We wake up early the next day to find out that we don't have any hot water and wouldnt not have it until 2300 hrs or later, we had to ask for a tea kettle to make enough warm water to wash up. Breakfast is WAY overpriced, you would be better off staying elsewhere. ALSO parking is a real pain here, they gave us a ticket to get in and out during our stay, HOWEVER it did not work and we have to contact a person EVERYTIME we left to let us out

Hotel staff gives hotel a 5 star feel!

Stayed for two nights and the hotel staff was the greatest. I have stayed in nicer hotels and it wasn't much with the extras but the staff made up for it. I would stay again just because of the wonderful staff. Also, nice bistro attached with good food!

A great hotel in a great location

We have just stayed at this hotel for the second time which probably says something in itself! The rooms are excellent - spacious, immaculately clean and very functional. The staff are friendly and helpful and the location - literally two minutes from the Schloss and not much more than five minutes from the main shopping area is perfect for a stay in Darmstadt. We don't tend to eat dinner in hotels because there are usually interesting restaurants to explore but we ate once in the 'Bistro Moller' and it was excellent.

Business Hotel between the Schloss and Herrngarten

Modern, relatively large hotel for business people visiting Darmstadt. The hotel is right in the center of town next to the Schloss (castle), the Darmstadium (conference center) and the city park called the Herrngarten. A little tricky to arrive by car, most guests seem to use taxis, also easy by tram from the Hauptbahnhof due to being in the center of town. Seems like the hotel is part of the campus of the Technical University. Excellent friendly service by young staff, excellent English skills. Large breakfast buffet in the restaurant facing the garten is a little pricey when it is not included with room. Bar/Bistro is fairly busy in the evening. Many American business people when I was there in July, not many tourists. Had an excellent stay.

We are an American couple traveling for vacation in Europe. I speak German moderately well, my husband not at all. We stayed one night in Darmstadt, en route to a different location. My German friends told us that \"no one goes to Darmstadt, there is nothing to see.\" Needless to say, we had pretty low expectations. We were driving a car and I will say that the one problem with this hotel was that you cannot drive up to the front. The location had our GPS very confused. We were also confused and didn't realize (until our second time stressfully round-abouting back through the city) that you need to drive down into the large platz parking garage in order to be able to reach the hotel.

Anyhow, once we were parked in the CORRECT parking garage, our stay from there was wonderful. I conversed in German while checking in and was delighted to find out that the employee we dealt with spoke flawless English. She was more than happy to speak English (which I do appreciate but find slightly embarrassing at the same time.)

Our room was great, it looked to be newly remodeled. We checked out the \"fitness center\" and wished we had brought out bathing suits. In the evening we took a walk through the \"castle\" across the street and found a really great beer garden called the Ratskeller. They have fantastic beer and food. We spent many hours there and then walked through the shopping district. The area was much livelier and vibrant than I would have imagined!

Top hotel!

I got to Darmstadt after a very long day so it was a very pleasant surprise to arrive at the hotel (I parked in the underground car park associated with the hotel). I was given a corner suite overlooking the square which was really well appointed. The hotel is nominally a 4 star hotel, but I could not have wanted more. Important small things make the difference to a business traveller (I stay in alot of hotels). Things like free coffee facilities, free bottled water, an iron and ironing board (amazing how many hotels miss this one) and all importantly the mini bar with bottles of beer for €2. Yes, €2. I used the restaurant downstairs which was great and again inexpensive. Service was really good to, with plenty of smiles. I don't bother posting reviews generally but this was worth the effort of letting everyone know.

A really nice hotel but difficult to get to by car if you have never been there before. Basically have to drive around barricades on to sidewalk to get to front door. Parking garage is right next door but no exterior signage to indicate that. Fun area to walk around. Castle & market plaza within a couple of blocks.

Yet another fantastic stay at the Welcome Darmstadt. All the Staff are friendly and helpful nothing is too much trouble for them. This time there was some work being carried out on the Bistro but the staff still managed to maintain an excellent level of service form a temporary bar in the reception area. Well done and thanks for a wonderful stay.
I was pleased that the hotel now offers some free Wi-Fi.

This is a business man's hotel. It is centrally located, has good access to surrounding sites, a nice restaurant and bistro. and convenient parking underground. Darmstadt is known as science city; it has a technical university, and several specialty colleges. It is also the location of the European space agency's control headquarters -- like Houston for the USA.

This hotel has a very good breakfast that is above standard. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Internet for wireless services is through a local telecom and is expensive if you are not a local but if you have a PC then they provide a wired service that is not free but the price is not unreasonable for 24 hours. Personally I think Internet should be wireless and free!! In hotels.
If you coming by private car then access to the hotel is via an underground car park that is difficult to find but once found it is convenient, there is a cost thou and its only free for 5 minutes. Coming by taxi then no problems. The hotel is in a good location and is above standard with helpful and nice staff.

A conference hotel

The hotel is set up as a conference hotel, not ideally suited for a family vacation. Whilst there is wired Internet in each room, this is not always free and with the quality of the hotel one would expect there to be free wireless Internet in every room. When we arrived, there were three of us standing in reception and the receptionist gave us a room for two because they had messed up the booking. There was no thought about where our son would sleep! It was an expensive hotel if you want food as well, as breakfast is not included in the room rates, which I hadn't found obvious before we arrived. It is very conveniently located for Darmstadt but has no parking.

A great hotel will be staying again

This is the first time I have stayed at this hotel and I was impressed from the moment I reached reception the staff gave us a warm welcome. All the staff were courteous and nothing was too much trouble. We used the restaurant for breakfasts and the bistro for snacks and drinks, the food was delicious in both. I will certainly be using this hotel again when I visit Darmstadt again next year. A good central location.

I was traveling and needed a hotel for an over night stay. I found the Welcome Hotel through Expedia. The hotel was very nice. The staff was very friendly. The hotel is only a 5 min walk from the middle of town where there are lots of things to do. If you are a shopper you will enjoy. The morning buffet was very nice. Eggs, sausage, beacon and all the traditional European cold meats, breads and yogurts. The only two downsides were the size of the room and parking. The room was small but sufficient and parking was a challenge. A map of how to get to the underground parking on the home page would have been appreciated.

When we order the hotel, at the WEB it havent been mentioned that the regular rooms supply only a shower and not bath. we order 4 rooms for 3 nights and unfortunately its cause us an inconvenience because no one in the group has been familiar to use shower instead of bath.
since the price of the hotel has been expensive all ready and exceeded our budget, we couldnt afford to upgrade all the room to a bath rooms.

中心地までは徒歩で10分もかからないが、治安が悪いということはなさそうだったが、人が少ないので女性一人旅には向かないかもしれない。
部屋にはコーヒーメーカーやアイロンがあり、頼めばケトルなども貸して貰えるらしい。
子供連れの私たちのために、子供用のアクティビティをまとめた案内も部屋に用意してあった。
朝食の種類もヨーロッパとしては豊富で、スタッフが常に補充をしていた。他の口コミを参考に、朝食料金を支払い済みの旨をメッセージで送っておいたからか、トラブルもなかった。
翌朝の為のタクシーも手配してくれ、スムーズに旅を続けられた。

Einfahrt in eine Tiefgarage wo ich sofort das Bedürfnis habe zu beten: hoffentlich hält alles. Mega freundliche Mitarbeitende am Empfang( fühle mich willkommen) Zimmer sauber jedoch sehr aufgeheizt. Der Grund, warum ich nicht mehr wiederkomme, ist die Parkhausituation: für ne Pauschale von Euro 17.-/Tag wãre ein Parkplatz nett- egal ob Weihnachtsmarkt, Fussballspiel o.ā. zudem ist das nicht vorhanden sein einer E Tankstelle beim Hotel nicht mehr zeitgemäß.

Mycket bra hotell. Fint rum, bra service. Det enda negativa var att man vaknade när någon tände ljuset i toaletten/badrummet på natten eftersom det var en plexiglasskiva till vägg mellan de båda rummen. Idiotisk idé.
