When we arrived we had been upgraded which was a nice surprise. Our room was spacious, spotless and comfortable. The decor was unusual and unique - we loved it! There were 2 bathrooms and they had a full range of amenities. The service was friendly and efficient. The buffet we had for dinner was not great as it seemed to be more tourist fare than traditional Greek food and there wasn't much choice for the main course but the deserts were delicious. Breakfast was very good and there was a large variety to choose from. We would love to stay here again.

This location was perfect for me as a single person traveling. Everyone at the hotel was so helpful, so welcoming, so friendly. My favorite part was the breakfast! It was on a major street that led to all major areas of the city. Walking distance to great shops on the street of the hotel as well as the Central Municipal market. At the end of the street you can find the Monastiraki Square. The absolute best area for dining do yourself a favor and go to a restaurant called A Taste of Home... Do make reservations as they get very busy after 7 PM. The cross street of Ermou Put you in the heart of some of the best shopping from local vendors, artisans as well as your traditional retail stores and the best part is a number of rooftop bar and restaurants so that you can have a sunset cocktail or dining experience

I stayed here for 4 nights. Staff at the front desk is super nice. There is one lady, I do not remember her name, she goes above and beyond, also upgraded my room, was given a bottle of wine. I had to drop my bags very early because I wanted to go for a day trip, they were extremely helpful. Room was huge and serviced multiple times a day. Breakfast area and food was great with many choices, again very nice staff there. I cannot praise enough. Location is very convenient to everything. Safe area. Lobby is beautiful and well kept. I actually miss it after I left. Hope to stay here again!

There were lots of fabulous restaurants within easy walking distance. We loved all the fresh delicious food. The hotel had the best free breakfast we’ve ever had. They had everything you could think of and the pastries were delightful! The bathroom was spacious with a good shower and the king bed was very comfortable with cool cotton linens. Most of all, the people at this hotel could not have been nicer or more helpful in every way. It really was special.

The room was very good, spacious, good beds. The only negative is the immediate area, around 2 blocks, in the evening. It's close to good areas, so take a taxi if you return to the hotel in the evening.

Example: €13 to the restaurant flat fee, €6 back hailing ourselves), to maps of the city and points of interest, and if this is your first stay in Athens you HAVE to have a go on The Big Red Bus - hop on and off as you like for a flat fee per day/trip.
Now lets talk about that breakfast...jeez. I've never had its equal. Everything I tried was literally THE BEST. They had a freakin' honey comb...an actual HONEY COMB...four star dining at its best...and it was complementary with the stay. Seriously, I've paid €50 each for very nice brunches that weren't nearly as vast, nor tasty, and they here too, have you feeling like kings and queens. One of my very best dining experiences ever...and it was included in the price.
We had a 6AM flight back to the States, so needed a 3AM taxi...no problem. Their contracted €70 ride netted us a nice Mercedes and when we got downstairs...they had a box breakfast waiting for us!!!

We had a four night stay and the service and feel of the hotel was excellent. Great position for sightseeing, close to two metro stations and the area around the hotel was bustling but felt really safe at all times of day. Most reviews mention the breakfast - it was great, really fresh and the ladies really look after you, the service was friendly and efficient.

We stayed here for my daughters 21st Birthday holiday. The hotel is lovely and the staff are amazing. The location is excellent for either public transport needs or very walkable to the main squares and parts of the beautiful city. The reception staff were excellent with great communication before our visit and during our stay. They organised a lovely birthday cake for my daughter, which they presented to her with a candle at breakfast on her birthday, a well appreciated, lovely touch. The whole staff were extremely polite, courtious and went out of their way to help and assist where possible. The breakfast was excellent and the hotel was spotless. Highly recommended.

I was enthralled with the photos of the rooms and the hotel in general. And, very happy that the photos matched the room we were assigned. Staff was exceptional from start to finish. We had two previous hotels in Athens for our trip to Greece and luckily this was our final booking and the most accurate in images and description. Yes, there is a little wear and tear but normal not excessive. Enjoy!

Grecotel is an upscale Greek chain with very reasonable prices when compared to similar US hotels. We were fortunate to be upgraded to a balcony with lots of space and a beautiful view. Breakfast is included and a wide variety of choices are offered to meet everyone's taste. There is a full staff too help with you luggage, check you in, bring ice, and any other request you have.
More important, the hotel is located across the street from a hop on/off bus stop which is the best way to see Athens. One block away is a major subway station which you can use to travel to and from the airport. There is even a small grocery store nearby to buy beverages and snacks.

A nice and relaxing stay.
I had a very comfortable stay in room 402. The air-con was nice and quiet that it was fine to be left on during the night. I did have the company of a mosquito on the first night but I didn't get bit and the staff helped me get rid of it the next day.
The shower rail unfortunately did fall off and catch my head which was the only downside.

The hotel is nice and located in a central location. The amenities are fine and the hotel staff are incredibly friendly. The hotel rooms are \"unique\" to say the least. The drawings on the wall are creative but out there. The shower is not great with poor water pressure. There are also not many well situated electric outlets in the room. Lastly, our room was very close to the elevator and my brother who was in the room with the twin beds could hear every conversation happening outside and anytime anyone walked by. Definitely a solid three star hotel. The service (in particular the bell captain) could make it a low grade four star.

When we returned, our luggage had already been placed in the room. Normally we do not eat dinner in our hotels, but we were so tired from traveling that we decided to do it for the convenience.
