I really like the Ortigas location. The SM Mega Mall is just a short walk and they pretty much have everything in that mall. Just around the corner is a Starbucks, Jollibee, Pancake House, Laundry service, and the train station. The room is very small and simple but functional for a short stay and at a very good price. Shampoo/bodywash was provided and the rain shower showerhead was great. There is a filtered water dispenser in the lobby for hot and cold water. There is a restaurant attached to the building that was open for breakfast to dinner. Security guards on the job 24/7 at both front and back door. I do have to stress that the rooms are small...like a cruise ship interior room but I was by myself so it was fine for me.

Rooms is so small, have to take turns in and out of the bed area to the bathroom. No coffee, no drinking water provided, no ice machine. You have to go dow to the lobby to get hot water. Absolutely hated staying there. I had to leave a day early because we couldn’t take it anymore. The only thing I like about that place are the staff and guards, they are very nice and helpful. No frills hotel.

The hotel is getting older and it shows. The Aircon was on but not cold and when we told the staff they just tried setting the thermostat lower. The room was warm the entire stay and we woke up to a wet floor. The air in the corridor was cooler and you could feel the difference when you opened the room.
Location is good and the Mediterranean restaurant by the hotel entrance is delicious.

We thoroughly enjoyed the hotel. It's location is unbeatable: walking distance to St Francis parish for daily prayer in Adoration chapel & daily Mass, walking distance to the best shopping/dining options in Shangri-La & SM Megamall. Fast internet & very easy to book Grab. Hotel staff are professional, courteous, and will go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. During our check-out, I accidentally left one of my suitcases. The front desk staff tried to contact me ASAP, calling me 11 times. Our first room was very noisy as it’s facing the main road and so much traffic and noise that it’s impossible to sleep on time. We have to wait till 1am to get a decent sleep but woke up still feeling dizzy. We transferred to another room the next day!

The room is below standard. No basic amenities whatsoever; not even a phone in the room. If you need to call front desk, you have to get out of the room to access a phone in the hallway. The bed was not comfortable at all; neither were the pillows. The towels provided were in bad condition like rugs for cleaning. I will not recommend this hotel.

Rooms small, limited towel, no slippers, or even free bottled water. Room has no added furniture, it is more suitable for local travelers and backpacker. It is located on the busiest road towards mandaluyong, not much eateries around. Behind the hotel, is messy dirty road. Walking to a nearby convenient store is not too convenient and safe, roads at night are dark, unsafe. Experienced a few hours of no electricity and WiFi cutoff. Only good facilities was the drive up carpark and more available parking lots, but must return hotel early to grab a empty parking lot.

Nice and clean. Room amenities and bathroom are modern which is nice. Fast wifi. Easy check-in. I like that you have to scan your key to work the elevator. Relatively quiet in terms of not hearing neighbors. My room was on the Shaw Blvd side on the 6th floor and I could hear street traffic. It didn't bother me much but others might. About 5 min walk to Shangri-la and surrounding shopping centers. The guard/concierge staff were very helpful.

The only miss was the safe did not work. The batteries were low and it was set to the lock position although it was open. I stayed only 1 night so wasn't a big deal, but if I was there multiple nights I need to have it working.

Found the traffic noise a bit unsettling especially those antiquated passenger jeeps and motorcycles with loud mufflers anytime in the day and night. Did not get a good sleep at all, in 2 different rooms in 2 days stay. But the staff were great and really accommodating.

I have been a frequent visitor of Manila over the last few years and stayed multiple times at the Red Planet. Initially I was very convinced about the concept of low price and minimal comfort in the room. It had everything I needed apart from a desk for better working conditions. Sitting on the bed in front of the pulldown board was always not very comfortable. However, this time I stayed in another hotel in the vicinity, which was even lower priced, but the room was twice as big, clean and all amenities been provided. I would've stayed there longer, but as it was for my last day fully booked, I stayed at the Red Planet as an alternative. This made the difference quite clear.
